Abstract

This research aims to determine the intrinsic and extrinsic elements of the novel Rain by Tere Liye. This research focuses on intrinsic and extrinsic elements in the novel Rain by Tere Liye. This type of research is qualitative research, namely analyzing the form of description, not in the form of numbers or coefficients regarding the relationship between variables. The data source in this research is the novel Rain by Tere Liye, consisting of 315 things. Length 21 cm, width 34 cm, published by Gramedia main library Jakarta 2016. The data collection technique for this research is note-reading technique, considering that the object of study in this research is a text, namely the novel Rain by Tere Liye. The data analysis used in this research is content analysis or scientific methods for studying and drawing conclusions by utilizing text.The research results show thatThe intrinsic elements in the novel Rain by Tere Liye have a theme of romance, the plot used is a back and forth plot, setting of place, setting of time, namely day, morning and evening. The characters in this novel are Lail, Esok, Maryam, Elijah, Lail's mother, Lail's father, Tomorrow's mother, Queen Mother, Mayor's wife, Mayor and Claudia. The point of view in this novel is as he, she and the person's name. The language styles used in this novel are personification, contradiction and pleonasm. The message in this novel is to accept everything that God has given us and always be unyielding. The extrinsic element in this novel is the author's background. Thus, it can be concluded that this novel proves that the tools used are very sophisticated because this novel is set in the future which prioritizes practicality.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pendampingan Program Magang Pendidikan bertujuan mengembangkan dan mengoptimalkan keterampilan mengajar mahasiswa calon guru melalui pengalaman praktik langsung di sekolah. Program ini dilandasi kebutuhan mahasiswa untuk mengintegrasikan teori pembelajaran dengan praktik nyata serta menguatkan kompetensi pedagogik, profesional, sosial, dan kepribadian. Metode kegiatan dilaksanakan secara kolaboratif dengan pendekatan praktik reflektif melalui beberapa tahap, yaitu: (1) persiapan dan pembekalan materi pedagogik, (2) observasi pembelajaran di kelas, (3) praktik mengajar terbimbing, serta (4) evaluasi dan refleksi. Selama kegiatan, mahasiswa mendapatkan bimbingan intensif dari dosen pembimbing dan guru pamong, meliputi perencanaan pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, serta penilaian hasil belajar. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, catatan refleksi, dan umpan balik dari pembimbing. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan yang nyata pada keterampilan mengajar mahasiswa, terutama dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran, mengelola kelas, menerapkan metode dan media yang variatif, serta berkomunikasi secara efektif dengan peserta didik. Mahasiswa juga menunjukkan peningkatan kepercayaan diri, kemampuan beradaptasi dengan lingkungan sekolah, serta keterampilan merefleksikan kelebihan dan kelemahan praktik mengajarnya. Sekolah mitra merasakan manfaat melalui bantuan tenaga pengajar, variasi strategi pembelajaran, dan meningkatnya interaksi akademik di kelas. Simpulannya, pendampingan program magang pendidikan efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi mengajar mahasiswa calon guru secara komprehensif. Program ini tidak hanya memberikan pengalaman profesional yang bermakna bagi mahasiswa, tetapi juga memperkuat kemitraan antara perguruan tinggi dan sekolah dalam upaya peningkatan mutu pembelajaran.

Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model integrated with Aswaja character values in improving students’ narrative writing skills. Specifically, it sought to determine whether students taught using the PjBL-Aswaja model show significantly higher writing performance compared to conventional instruction. Method: A quantitative quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group was employed. The study involved 64 students from two classes of the Indonesian Language Education program, selected through purposive sampling. The experimental group received the PjBL-Aswaja intervention, while the control group received conventional instruction. Narrative writing ability was measured using a performance-based writing test before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired sample t-tests, independent sample t-tests, ANCOVA, and effect size calculations (Cohen’s d and partial η²). Results: The findings indicate that both groups improved after instruction; however, the experimental group demonstrated a significantly greater increase in narrative writing performance (gain score = 11.90) compared to the control group (gain score = 5.06), with large effect sizes (Cohen’s d = 1.02; partial η² = 0.30, p < 0.001). ANCOVA results confirmed that the PjBL-Aswaja model significantly enhanced students’ posttest scores even after controlling for pretest performance. Novelty: This study highlights the integration of character values from Aswaja within a project-based learning approach as an effective method to foster both cognitive and moral development in higher education writing courses. The findings provide practical and theoretical implications for character-based instructional design in narrative writing pedagogy.
