Abstract

Malangan’s puppet is a shadow puppet that grows and develops in East Jawa, precisely in the Greater Malang area. Malangan’s puppet differs from other styles in the scene structure department, which is covered by five pathet (Javanese gamelan modes) concepts. The purpose of this research is to describe the structure of the scene using five pathet concepts with the sample of the Malangan’s puppet script, Gathotkaca Lair. This Study applied the descriptive qualitative method. The research data were drawn from the data source of the Malangan’s puppet script with the Gathotkaca Lair’s play. The data collection employed content analysis techniques by evaluating several character dialogues that represent the scene structure in each pathet. The data analysis technique implemented the Miles & Huberman interactive model. The results of the study suggest that the scene structure in the Gathotkaca Lair’s script is well packaged into five pathets. The five pathets are pathet sepuluh (tenth), pathet wolu (eight), pathet sanga (ninth), pathet miring, and pathet serang. Abstract

Feminist values refer to the basic principles that underlie the feminist movement and thought. These values emphasize gender equality, justice, and women's empowerment in various aspects of life. This qualitative study analyzes Okky Madasari's novel "Mata dan Nyala Api Purba" (Eyes and Ancient Flames). Data were obtained through text content analysis using a purposive sampling technique. Document analysis was used for data collection, while validity was maintained through triangulation of sources and methods. The analysis was conducted interactively to gain a deeper understanding of the liberal feminist values within the work. The analysis shows that the values of equal rights and opportunities are the most dominant aspect in the novel, with a frequency of 32%. This is reflected in the representation of female characters who have equal access and opportunities to men, both in private and public spaces. The value of individual independence is also prominent (25%), depicting women as figures capable of making decisions and acting independently. Furthermore, individual freedom and life choices are recorded at 21%, demonstrating the space for female characters to determine their own direction. Public participation reaches 14%, demonstrating women's involvement in the social and political spheres. Meanwhile, rejection of traditional gender roles emerged at 7%, demonstrating resistance to stereotypes that limit women's roles in society. Overall, the five components of liberal feminist values in this novel demonstrate that Mata dan Nyala Api Purba (The Eyes and the Ancient Flame) is imbued with the spirit of emancipation and gender equality. Therefore, this literary work can be used as a learning resource to enrich understanding of feminist values within the context of Indonesian culture.

Abstract

Analisis ekokritik pada karya sastra puisi masih jarang dibahas dalam kegiatan pembelajaran sastra di sekolah. Padahal persoalan lingkungan setiap saat semakin mengompleks dan selalu diperbincangkan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan mengenai (1) bentuk penggambaran hubungan lingkungan dan manusia yang ditunjukan dalam antologi puisi Kekasih Teluk sesuai dengan teori ekokritik Lawrence Buell, (2) bentuk kritik ekologi yang digambarkan dalam antologi puisi tersebut sesuai dengan teori ekokritik Lawrence Buell, dan (3) pemanfaatan hasil analisis ekokritik dalam antologi puisi tersebut sebagai alternatif materi ajar mengidentifikasi makna puisi yang dibaca untuk siswa SMA. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan ekokritik dengan teori Lawrence Buell. Sumber data penelitian ini meliputi dokumen yaitu antologi puisi Kekasih Teluk karya Saras Dewi dan informan. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah analisis dokumen dengan metode simak-catat dan wawancara mendalam. Teknik uji validitas data yang digunakan yaitu triangulasi sumber data dan triangulasi metode. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: Pertama, penggambaran hubungan alam dan manusia sesuai dengan teori Lawrence Buell pada antologi puisi Kekasih Teluk disebut dengan topofolia. Kedua, pada antologi puisi ini keempat bentuk ekokritik menurut teori Lawrence Buell yang ditemukan yaitu historikal elemen nonmanusia, legitimasi kepentingan elemen nonmanusia terhadap kepentingan manusia, dinamisasi alam, dan pertanggungjawaban manusia terhadap alam. Ketiga, antologi puisi Kekasih Teluk selaras dengan materi puisi di kelas 10 atau fase E Kurikulum Merdeka, sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai alternatif materi ajar oleh guru. Analisis ekokritik berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat menjadi langkah alternatif memahami makna puisi secara mendalam. Hal tersebut selaras dengan cara mamahami makna puisi secara mendalam adalah dengan menganalisis diksi-diksi tertentu, suasana, dan tema.

Abstract

Folklore as a literary work reflects the lives of people, including the origins of a particular place. This research aims to: (1) describe the folklore of the origin of Dukuh Tambak in Sragen, (2) describe the folklore of the origin of Pasar Tambak in Sragen, and (3) identify the value of local wisdom in the two stories. The method used is qualitative with a literary anthropology approach, using purposive sampling technique to select two interrelated stories. Data validity was tested by source triangulation and data analysis using a flow model analysis. The results show that the origin stories of Dukuh Tambak and Pasar Tambak describe the historical journey of the spread of Islam around the Bengawan Solo River, with Joko Tingkir and Kanjeng Raden Tumenggung Tambak Yudho as the main characters in Dukuh Tambak. Meanwhile, Pasar Tambak, spearheaded by Prince Giri Noto, continues the tradition of generosity and honesty in social interaction. From both stories, local wisdom values were found: (1) religiosity value, (2) social value, (3) leadership and responsibility value, (4) hard work value, (5) honesty value, and (6) cultural value.

Abstract

Indonesian language learning at the junior high school level requires students not only to comprehend texts but also to apply them in real-life contexts. One of the essential text types to be taught is the procedural text, which aims to develop students’ instructional abilities as well as their sequential and systematic thinking skills. This study aims to describe the implementation of an ecology-based Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in teaching procedural texts in junior high school. The research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and interviews. The researcher and the teacher collaborated to discuss the application of the ecology-based PjBL model in teaching procedural texts to seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Surakarta. The researcher then observed the procedural text learning activities carried out by the teacher using the PjBL model and conducted an evaluation of the model's implementation, student engagement, and the effectiveness of the activities in achieving learning objectives. The results indicated that the implementation of the ecology-based PjBL model effectively increased students’ active participation, enhanced their understanding of procedural text concepts, and fostered early awareness of waste management and environmental conservation.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide training and mentoring to develop scenarios for implementing the literacy movement in schools for Indonesian language teachers at junior high schools in Karanganyar Regency. Partners in this activity are the Karanganyar Regency Education and Culture Office and the Indonesian Language Group (MGMP) in Karanganyar. Participants in this community service activity are limited to 30 Indonesian language junior high school teachers representing the Central Working Group in Karanganyar Regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a participatory approach. The implementation methods include expository, discussion, question and answer sessions, assignments, and guidance. The results of the program implementation show high teacher enthusiasm in participating in material presentation activities from resource persons and question and answer sessions. This is indicated by teacher attendance reaching 100 percent, teachers who submitted assignments at 90%, and teachers who were able to compile assignments well at 85%. In addition to developing scenarios for implementing the School Literacy Movement, teachers also mentioned obstacles faced in implementing GLS, including students' lack of interest and motivation to read, preferring to read short texts, lack of support from parents, and less attractive book collections in the library.
