Abstract

The research aims to describe (1) structure of novel 9 Summers 10 Autumns by Iwan Setyawan; (2) characteristic of main character personality on novel 9 Summers 10 Autumns by Iwan Setyawan; (3) the value of character education on novel 9 Summers 10 Autumns by Iwan Setyawan; and (4) the relevance of novel 9 Summers 10 Autumns by Iwan Setyawan as literature learning materials in SMA. This research is a qualitative studying using descriptive qualitative and document analysis. The data sources are document and informant. The technique sampling of this research using purposive sampling. Data validity test uses irangulation theory. Data analysis text use interactive method. The result shows (1) structure of novel 9 Summers 10 Autumns by Iwan Setyawan have a correlation; (2) Iwan as main character fill of mature personality criterias by Gordon Allport; (3) novel 9 Summers 10 Autumns have fiveteen types representation the value of character education; and (4) novel 9 Summers 10 Autumns fill criteria as a good literature learnings material.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The sampling technique is done by using purposive sampling. Data validity using triangulation method. Data analysis techniques in this study using interactive analysis techniques: (1) data reduction; (2) data presentation; (3) drawing conclusions. The results of research: (1) The use of stylistic in an ontology of short stories Dilarang Mencintai Bunga Bunga, 12 types of dominant language stylistic are found and the most dominating is hyperbole stylistic; (2) The use of imagery in ontology of short stories Dilarang Mencintai Bunga-Bunga.  it is found 4 forms of imageries and the most dominating is vision; (3) it is found 5 values of character education building in an ontology of short stories Dilarang Mencintai Bunga-Bunga namely: a) religious; b) independent; c) integrity; d) community self-help; e) nationalist; and (4) The ontology of short stories Dilarang Mencintai Bunga Bunga has the suitability criteria that can be used as teaching materials that are: a) the language is light, easy to understand; b) suitable with age, interest, and psychological development; c) suitable with the socio-cultural environment of learners; d) enhance sense of curiosity. Implementation of research results. The ontology of short stories Dilarang Mencintai Bunga Bunga as literature materials in junior high school is relevant to Core Competence and Basic Competence.

Abstract

There are many strategies in the use of language for specific purposes by euphemisms and it found also in the newspaper Solopos primarily on the topic of politics. The purpose of this study is to describe and explain: (1) the form of the use of euphemisms in the daily newspaper Solopos Edition April 2018, (2) the function of the use of euphemisms in the news daily newspaper Solopos Edition April 2018, (3) its relevance text learning material against anecdote at the high school. This research is qualitative research with the source data comes from the text of the news on the news in the newspaper Solopos. This research uses sampling purposive sampling and analysis techniques using a flowing or flow model of analyzing in analyzing the data. The results of this research are (1) Found 8 forms a euphemism that is, a euphemism in the form of loan words, euphemism be unfamiliar terms, a euphemism in the form of metaphor, euphemism be figurative expressions, euphemisms in the form of an acronym, abbreviation, in the form of euphemism in the form of one word for another word, and euphemisms in the form of paraphrasing; (2) the function of the use of euphemisms in the daily newspaper Solopos April 2018 is for politeness, obscure meaning, not to offend or cause conflict, reducing shame, mentioning the title of education, mentioning religious terms, and to keep secret things.

Abstract

Data collection techniques used in this study are documentation and in-depth interviews with informants. Data validity uses data triangulation and theory triangulation. Analysis techniques using interactive models. The main data of this research was obtained from the novel Dua Ibu by Arswendo Atmowiloto with a thickness of 300 pages. The novel is studied with a literary anthropological approach. Based on this approach, it was found that: (1) the complexity of ideas which included human relations with nature, with others, and the nature of human life; (2) the complexity of the activities that exist in Javanese society in the Dua Ibu novel; (3) the complexity of cultural results in the form of cultural results in the form of language, forms of knowledge, forms of technology, and forms of eye search; (4) the value of character education contained in the Dua Ibu novel; and (5) its relevance as literary learning in high school. The cultural life described by the author is dominated by Javanese cultural customs, namely Solo. Analysis techniques using interactive models.Conclusions from this study indicate that elements of mythology, philosophy, and Javanese culture can be used as a reference to educators, especially in Central Java for the basis of an approach to strengthen the value of the character of students and character that is in accordance with Javanese culture.

Abstract

The form of this research is qualitative descriptive used an approach of sociology literature. Data collection technique used: (1) document analysis technique which is novel Pasung Jiwa; (2) interviews technique with informant which are teacher and student. The collected data analyzed by interactive analysis model. The result of the research are: (1) Intrinsic element analysis of novel Pasung Jiwa, the main theme are freedom and the struggle against injustice. The figures analyzed the main character that are Sasana and Jaka, and the additional characters that are Ayah, Ibu, Cak Man, Masita, Banua, Memed and Leman, the Marjinals, Elis, and Kalina . The plot of novel Pasung Jiwa is chronological plot. The background scene happen in Jakarta, Malang, and Batam. The background time happen in 1993-2003. The view point used first person perspective; (2) Social criticism in novel Pasung Jiwa includes social criticism of government because of Orde Baru repressive government. Social criticism of arbitrary power. Social criticism of the economy because of monetary crisis. Social criticism of human rights because of Sasana’s struggle as a transgender; (3) The education value contained within novel Pasung Jiwa are: religious; honest; tolerance; discipline; hard work; creative; independent; democratic; curiosity; the spirit of nationality; love the homeland; appreciate achievement; communicative/friendly; love peace; like to read; social care; and responsibility; and (4) Novel Pasung Jiwa has a novel suitability criteria that can be used as teaching material

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) the forms of misuse of spelling on official letters in and out of the Village Office of Batan Village; (2) a form of error in the choice of words on official letters in and out of the Batan Village Office; (3) the form of misuse of the sentence on official letters in and out of the Village Office of Batan Village; and (4) the relevance of the findings of the analysis of errors in the use of Indonesian with learning letters in junior high school. The method used is qualitative descriptive. The data source used is in the form of documents and informants. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Data collection techniques use document analysis and interview techniques. The validity of the data is done by theory triangulation and source triangulation. Data analysis is using interactive analysis. The results of the study showed: (1) there were spelling errors in the official letter of entry and exit in the Village of Batan as many as 1,171 errors, among the three types of errors in spelling, capital letters errors had the most frequency followed by word punctuation and writing errors; (2) there were 273 errors in the official letter of entry and exit in the Village of Batan. Among the three types of diction errors, the savings error has the highest number of errors followed by errors in accuracy and rigidity; (3) there were 142 mistakes in sentence in the official letter of entry and exit in the Village of Batan Village. Among the three types of errors in the sentence, the error of the unitary arrangement has the most frequency followed by logical errors and politeness; (4) the findings of the analysis can be evaluated on the learning of letters in junior high school class VII, KD 3.11 and 4.11 and KD 3.12 and KD 4.12.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and explain (1) the intrinsic element;(2) personality aspect of the main character;(3) character education; and(4) the relevance of the personality of the main character and the value of character education in the novel Rantau 1 Muara Fuadi with learning literature appreciation in High School.This research is a descriptive-qualitative research which used psychology literature approach. The data collection techniques used in this study were document analysis techniques and interviews. The data validity techniques used were data triangulation and source triangulation.The results of this research showed that the structural elements that build include: the theme of education, groove mix, setting a place located in Bandung, Jakarta, Maninjau, America, and England, the personality, the standpoint of using the technique of acknowledgment and the message to consistently pursue ideals.Through the three dimensional character is obtained figures of Alif and Dinara. The personality of the main characters in the novel, analyzed using Freud’s psychoanalytic theory which includes three personality structures Id, Ego, and Superego. Novel Rantau 1 Muara also contains the value of hard work education found on the main characters, Alif and Dinara. Novel Rantau 1 Muara is relevant to the learning of literature appreciation in high school class XII.

Abstract

Fenomena diskriminasi gender yang tumbuh di masyarakat kerap diproyeksikan ke dalam karya sastra. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan  bentuk diskriminasi gender,  faktor pemengaruh diskriminasi gender, dan solusi meminimalkan tindak diskriminasi gender novel Kim Ji-yeong Lahir Tahun 1982 karya Cho Nam-joo serta  pemanfaatan hasil analisis tersebut  dalam pembelajaran sastra di SMA. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah sastra feminis. Sumber data penelitian berupa dokumen novel Kim Ji-yeong Lahir Tahun 1982 dan informan yaitu pembaca novel tersebut, guru mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, serta siswa kelas XI SMA.. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu teknik analisis dokumen dan wawancara. Uji validitas data yaitu teknik triangulasi teori dan sumber data. Teknik analisis data adalah analisis mengaliryang meliputi reduksi, display data, dan kesimpulan.. Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: (1) lima bentuk diskriminasi gender dalam novel Kim Ji- yeong Lahir Tahun 1982, yaitu marginalisasi, subordinasi, stereotipe, kekerasan, dan beban ganda; (2) faktor pemengaruh diskriminasi gender adalah adanya konstruksi biologis (kondisi fisik dan psikis) dan konstruksi budaya (patriarki); (3) solusi untuk meminimalkan tindak diskriminasi gender antara lain upaya peningkatan kesadaran dan pengetahuan pribadi, dukungan keluarga, orang-orang terdekat, dan masyarakat sekitar, adanya konseling berbasis gender, serta peran serta komunitas terkait; dan (4) hasil kajian novel Kim Ji-yeong Lahir Tahun 1982 dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran  resensi novel kelas 11 SMA karena selain sebagai suatu inovasi, peserta didik juga memperoleh wawasan tentang kesetaraan gender.
