Abstract

FITRI RANDANI IRWAN, 2024. Improving Students' Understanding of Sound Propagation Concepts through Cooperative Learning Model Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) in Class V UPT SPF SD Inpres Sero, Classroom Action Research. This research employs classroom action research, with the researcher acting as the teacher and assisted by two observers who collect and analyze data. The study is based on the reality that many elementary school students still struggle to understand the concept of sound propagation and are less engaged in group learning. One issue faced by elementary students is the material on sound propagation through liquids and solids. To address this, the cooperative learning model STAD was implemented. This research is formulated as follows: can students' understanding of sound propagation concepts be improved through the cooperative learning model Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) in Class V UPT SPF SD Inpres Sero? Based on the research findings, it was obtained that through the STAD cooperative learning model, students’ understanding of sound propagation concepts increased at UPT SPF SD Inpres Sero. The STAD cooperative learning was conducted through seven stages: preparation for learning, presentation of material, group learning, checking group learning outcomes, individual testing, test checking, and group rewards. The data is presented in verbal form to determine the improvement in students' understanding of sound propagation concepts using the STAD model. This data relates to student/teacher activity, student engagement in the learning process, students' enthusiasm during group and class discussions, students' understanding in answering tests both orally and in writing, students' responses to learning, and achievement of learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to explore strategies for enhancing the quality of Pancasila Education (PPKn) learning through the application of the cooperative Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model combined with the interactive media Quizizz in the fourth grade at SD Inpres Mariso 2. This innovative approach is designed to transform the teaching and learning process into a more participatory, engaging, and meaningful experience for students. The rese arch employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method conducted in two systematic cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection phases. The subjects of the study include 30 students, and data collection techniques involve learning outcome tests, activity observations, and in-depth interviews. The results indicate that the applied learning model is effective in improving students' academic achievements. The average score of students significantly increased from 70 in the first cycle to 85 in the second cycle. These findings not only reflect an improvement in academic performance but also enhancements in social interaction, learning motivation, and active student engagement in the learning process. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of using cooperative learning models and digital media in primary education. Therefore, this research concludes that the implementation of the TGT model and interactive media Quizizz is an effective alternative for improving student learning outcomes in the fourth grade.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the take and give learning model on students' social studies learning outcomes, which are still relatively low. The appropriate application of the take and give learning model can improve students' social studies learning outcomes in the subject of Cultural Diversity and Local Wisdom. This study was a pre-experimental study. The independent variable was the take and give learning model, and the dependent variable was social studies learning outcomes. The population in this study was all fourth-grade students. The sample in this study was all 20 students in class IV A. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The results showed that the average pretest score of 54 was categorized as very low and incomplete, whereas after implementing the take-and-give learning model, the posttest average score was 84, categorized as complete. The paired sample t-test yielded a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000. This significance value is less than α (0.000 <0.05). The average student activity during the learning process reached 72.17 points. Students were active and successfully understood the material taught. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the take-and-give learning model can improve student learning outcomes.Based on the above research results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the take-and-give learning model can influence the social studies learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at Tidung State Elementary School. Using the take-and-give learning model, students began to actively respond to and answer various questions posed by the teacher and were able to answer questions from other students, thus motivating other students to participate in the learning process. The enjoyable learning process prevented students from dropping in and out during the lesson.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the impact of the Discovery Learning paradigm on the learning outcomes of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) for sixth grade students at MIS Muhammadiyah Parambambe. The research methodology used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design using a control group design with pre-tests and post-tests. The sample consisted of two classes: an experimental class that used the Discovery Learning paradigm and a control class that used conventional learning methods. Data collection techniques included observation, writing, and interviews. Data analysis was performed using independent, normal, and homogeneity tests. The research findings showed that there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes when using the Discovery Learning paradigm compared to the control group. This model can increase the dynamics, creativity, and critical thinking skills of students in understanding IPAS material. Therefore, the Discovery Learning style is recommended as an effective strategy to improve the quality of learning and IPAS learning outcomes in elementary schools.

Abstract

The research is a quantitative research with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design that aims to determine the application of the Project-based Learning (PjBL) model in the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), to determine the differences in student character before and after the application of the Project-based Learning model, and to analyze the influence of the Project-based Learning model on the character formation of students at Muhammadiyah Mimbar Elementary School. The research subjects were 19 students of class IV B involved in a project with the theme "Sustainable Lifestyle". Collected through (pretest and posttest) and observation sheets focusing on the dimensions of mutual cooperation, global diversity, and creativity, then analyzed with descriptive statistics and t-test Paired Sample T-Test using SPSS Statistics 22. The results showed the average pretest character of students was 62.9 with a distribution of sufficient categories of 63.16% and good 36.84%, none had reached the very good category or exceeded the KKTP 75. After treatment by applying the Project-based Learning (PjBL) model, the average posttest score increased to 82.63 with 68.42% of students in the very good category and 31.58% in the good category, so that all students achieved learning completeness according to KKTP. The Paired Sample T-Test test produced a t value = 13.324 with Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning there is a significant influence of the implementation of the Project-based Learning (PjBL) model in strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile Project on the character formation of grade IV B students of Muhamamdiyah Mimbar Elementary School. Thus, the implementation of the Project-based Learning (PjBL) model in strengthening the Pancasila student profile project is effective in strengthening the character of students, especially the aspects of mutual cooperation, global diversity, creativity through holistic, contextual, student-centered, and exploratory learning experiences according to the principles of the Independent Curriculum.
