Abstract

Speaking is an important skill in german language. Yet, speaking anxiety is a continuous topic in foreign language learning. Media learning has inovated futher to address the issue of language learning especially speaking. One of the innovated media learning platform is an app called Lingbe. Lingbe is a language exchange application by which language learners can have a call with natives. The purposes of this research were to describe the students’ activities using Lingbe on students of German Department in State University of Malang towards their language speaking anxiety and to describe the students’ responses about the implementation of the app. This research used qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The data were collected using observation, questionnaire, and interview technique. The result shows that the implementation of Lingbe run well after going through three meetings as planned. Students reveal that they are interested to use it periodically to help them by practicing their speaking skill and to lessen their anxiety of speaking German. Furthermore, students feel comfortable to have conversations with natives by using this apps.

Abstract

Seiring dengan upaya menciptakan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan, kebutuhan akan media pembelajaran yang inovatif selalu ada. Tidak hanya media konvensional, media digital dibutuhkan pula untuk menambah variasi media yang digunakan. Penggunaan media digital terutama berbasis android selaras dengan tingginya intensitas penggunaan smartphone oleh siswa. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media ERMEINUNG, yakni media pembelajaran digital berbasis aplikasi android yang dilengkapi dengan video, audio, dan gambar untuk menunjang kemampuan siswa dalam belajar bahasa Jerman. Dalam mengembangkan ERMEINUNG, peneliti menggunakan software Lectora Inspire 17 untuk memadukan materi dan multimedia. Metode pengembangan yang dipilih adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE. Uji coba dilakukan pada 35 orang siswa kelas XI IPS di SMA Negeri 2 Situbondo. Dari hasil penilaian para ahli, media ERMEINUNG dinyatakan sangat valid dan layak untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran di kelas maupun secara mandiri dengan persentase 94,79% dari ahli media dan 92,5% dari ahli materi. Media tersebut juga mendapatkan penilaian yang positif dari siswa sebagai pengguna dengan persentase 86,45%.

Abstract

The development of teaching materials is one of the most important elements that can support the quality of the learning process, including foreign language learning. In contrast to technological developments, teaching materials for Arbeit am Text courses studied by students at Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) are still conventional and have not received sufficient attention for a long time. On the other hand, the course that focuses on German reading skills has an important goal, namely, to improve student literacy. Therefore, this study aims to develop multimodal-based teaching materials for Arbeit am Text courses. In this research and development, researchers used the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Questionnaire sheets were delivered to the material expert as well as to the media expert to earn product validity. Besides, e-questionnaires were also filled out by students as users of the teaching materials arranged. Based on the data validation results, it can be concluded that the multimodal-based digital teaching materials for the Arbeit am Text course were declared to meet the eligibility requirements for media and material with respective percentages of 94% and 95.28% so they are included in the "very good" category. Likewise, the results of trials on users, namely students who took part in the lectures, had given very positive responses to the multimodal-based digital teaching materials designed by researchers. Researchers hope that multimodal-based digital teaching materials can be used widely, especially in learning the Arbeit am Text course, and can be used as a source of independent learning outside the lecture process.

Abstract

Keterampilan membaca merupakan bagian dari keterampilan berbahasa yang berfokus pada keterampilan seseorang untuk mendapatkan informasi dari sebuah teks. Di dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jerman, keterampilan membaca merupakan hal penting untuk dikuasai oleh peserta didik agar mereka dapat memahami makna dari sebuah teks yang sedang dipelajari. Pada kenyataanya, tidak sedikit peserta didik yang merasa jenuh ketika mereka bekerja dengan teks. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya media pembelajaran yang mampu membangkitkan minat peserta didik untuk melatih keterampilan membacanya. Quizizz adalah media digital yang dapat diaplikasikan dalam pembelajaran karena memiliki tampilan dan fitur yang menarik seperti fitur Leaderboard yang akan menampilkan  peringkat peserta didik sesuai dengan kecepatan dan ketepatan menjawab soal. Quizizz juga dapat digunakan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Berdasarkan uraian tersebut, artikel ini bertujuan untuk membahas konsep media Quizizz sebagai media pendukung untuk melatih keterampilan membaca bahasa Jerman.
