Abstract

Lovebird is a type of bird that many people have as a pet or for a competition. This bird needs adequate nutrients for survival. In reality, there are many of them that over or low nutrients. This study will discuss about how to optimized the composition feeds of lovebird and minimize the costs without reducing the nutrition. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is one of the optimization methods that used for the formulation process and the composition to keep fulfilling the nutrient needs with minimal cost. The PSO algorithm process starts with the initialization process for position, velocity, pBest values as much as the particles and gBest. Then proceed to update the velocity, position, pBest and gBest as much as the iteration that has been determined. Based on the results of the test that have been done in this study, the writer obtains the optimal parameters such as the number of particles as much as 60, the number of iterations is 600 and the value of coefficient k is 0.3. By using these parameters, the price difference is Rp 5,540.00.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of glucose supplementation in liquid semen diluent on the quality of Kampung Unggul Balitbangtan (KUB) spermatozoa. The chicken used is KUB chicken as many as 8 tails. The research procedure consists of; the manufacture of diluent, collection of semen, dilution of semen, storage, and evaluation of semen.Evaluation of semen was carried out on motility, viability, abnormalities, and plasma membrane integrity at 0 and 3 days of storage.Data were analyzed using the T-test to compare the quality of spermatozoa with added glucose into the liquid semen diluent and without the addition of glucose. The addition of glucose into the diluent was able to maintain spermatozoa motility at 35.00 ± 11.50, spermatozoa viability at 41.42 ± 10.15, and spermatozoa plasma membrane integrity at 82.94 ± 7.42 at 5oC storage for three days. This study concluded that glucose supplementation into liquid semen diluent was able to maintain plasma membrane motility, viability, and integrity at 5oC storage for three days, spermatozoa quality of KUB chickens was able to survive at 5oC storage for three days, and glucose can be added to the liquid semen diluent at a dose of 10 mM.

Abstract

A meta-analysis was conducted to determine the effects of different sources of energy on the growth performance and digestibility protein of local chickens crossbreed. A dataset was constructed based on relevant published papers. An algorithm was constructed from 2015 to 2023, with a search in Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and Medline using the MESH terms “chicken”, “digestibility”, “local chicken”, “performance”, and “nutrient digestibility”. After careful evaluation, the final dataset consisted of 8 in-vivo studies comprising 31 treatment units. The data analysis and coding were performed using software R version 4.2.1 “Funny-looking kid” computing with library mode (cowplot); (tidyverse); and (viridis); and (nlme). Our meta-analysis with regard to growth performance, the different sources of protein did not affect the body weight, FCR, body weight gain (BWG), final body weight (FBW), and feed intake (FI) (p > 0.05).  In conclusion, the different source of protein negatively affects parameters for growth performance and nutrient digestibility in local chicken crossbreeds.

Abstract

The research revealed that the appropriate strategy for the development of local cattle is influenced by both internal and external factors, such as the age of farmers, the educational level of farmers, the experience of cattle, the main job of farmers, availability ofland, knowledge of cattle farm management, use of technology and access to funding, and government support. This research aims to evaluate the development of the PO village breeding center based on internal and external factors. The research methodology employed involved conducting surveys, interviews, and documentation of cattle farmers, livestock group leaders, and Bojonegoro livestock department officials as sources of information. The method used in this study was purposive sampling. Descriptive quantitative and SWOT analyses were carefully applied to the available data. The internal factor analysis yielded a total value of 1.03 on the positive X-axis, while the external factor had a value of 0.15 on the positive Y-axis. As a result, the SWOT analysis shows the development of a PO village breeding center in quadrant I, which indicated that the program for developing a village breeding center was on the right track (aggressive) by continuously implementing growth strategies. Developing the source area forPO cattle has excellent potential to enhance the productivity and quality of PO cattle produced. The development strategy of PO cattle village breeding center should focus on the potential strength aspect of the capacity of local regions and farmers' support.
