Abstract

The aim of this research was to study the effect of addition pinneapple peel meal in diet on total egg and egg quality duck. Materials of the research were 60 mojosari ducks at seven months old. The treatment of pineapple peel meal addition in diet were treatment on level of 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8%. Variable were numbers of egg, egg shell thickness, fat and cholesterol egg yolk. The datas were analyzed using ANOVA from Randomized Block Design (RBD), if the result had significant effect, would be continued by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The result showed that an addition pineapple peel meal in  duck diet had no effect (P>0,05) on numbers of egg and thick of egg shell, however, it had  highly significant effect (P<0,01) on fat  and  cholesterol  egg  yolk . The concluded showed that the addition of pineaple peel meal  in ducks diet can be decreasing fat and cholesterol egg yolk and can not decreasing numbers of egg and egg shell tick. Abstract

The purpose of this research were to find out effect of using citric acid and lactic acid combination in liquid and encapsulated forms on broiler carcass percentage and internal organ weights (liver, pancreas, lymph, bile). The material used for this research was 108 Cobb broiler chicks with average initial body weight of 44,00 ± 3,37 g. The method used in this field experiment was Completly Randomized Design with 2 factors and 4 levels, and if there were significant influence it would be tested with Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The result showed that citric acid and lactic acid combination in either liquid or encapsulated form showed no significant effect (P>0,05) on carcass percentage and liver, pancreas and lymph weights of broiler but it significantly affect (P<0,01) bile weight. The addition of 0.4 % citric acid and lactic acid combination in either liquid or encapsulated form gave the best result on percentage carcass. The conclusion that the additions of different level of citric acid and lactic acid combination in encapsulated form on broiler feed only gave significant effect on lymph weight.   Keywords: citric acid and lactic acid combination, liquid, encapsulated, carcass percentage, internal organ

Abstract

This research was conducted to examine Agaricus bisporus and Auricularia auricula crude extract using different solvents (water, ethanol, and methanol) on infrared spectroscopy absorbance during extraction and the impact on broiler carcass. Agaricus bisporus and Auricularia auricula crude extracts were scanned using fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Each mushroom crude extract was chosen and applied into broiler diets as feed additive at 0%, 0.4%, 0.8%, 1.2%, and compared zinc bacitracin inclusion. Variable measured were final live weight, carcass yield, breast meat yield, and abdominal fat yield of broiler. Two hundred and forty day-old chicks were randomly allocated into eight dietary treatments, each treatment was replicated three times with ten chicks for each pen. Diets and water were offered ad libitum. Methanolic extract showed monosaccharide absorption peak in fingerprint region at wavelength 890 cm-1, 930 cm-1, 1050 cm-1, 1150 cm-1 which indicates alpha and beta linkage than the others solvent. Even so, dietary inclusion of methanolic extracts of Agaricus bisporus and Auricularia auricula did not show any effect on final live weight and the yiled of carcass, breast meat and abdominal fat of broiler. In conclusion, methanolic extraction is effective to extract monosaccharides with α- and β- linkages from Agaricus bisporus and Auricularia auricula, while the dietary inclusion of methanolic extracts of both edible mushroom and zinc bacitracin has no effect on carcass quality of broilerin broiler diets did not show differences between treatments as well as zinc bacitracin group.

Abstract

The experiment was to determine the composition of putak waste nutrein to increase through  fermentation by Aspergillus niger, Saccharomyces cereviseae and its combinations. The experiment method used laboratory experimental method by applying Nested Plot Random Design. The first factor is inoculum (P): Aspergillus niger, Saccharomyces cereviseae and their combination on the level of 1,5% and the incubation time length (W): 0, 24, 48, 72 hours as the second factor. Variables measured of putak waste fiber component analysis. The results showed that the type of inoculum effect on fiber component (Neutral Detergent Fiber / NDF, Hemicellulose and Lignin) is very significantly influence (P<0,01) and fiber component (Acid Detergent Fiber/ADF and Cellulose) is significantly influence  (P<0,05), while the incubation time showed very significantly influence (P<0,01) to the fiber component (NDF) and not significantly influence (P>0,05) to ADF, Hemicellulose, Cellulose and Lignin.

Abstract

Based poultry Indonesia feed formulation is corn soya, it is mean corn and soy bean meal has large proportion on the Indonesia poultry feed. The aims of the research to know the effects of β-mannanase enzyme as feed additive on soy bean meal based feed on the metabolizable energy, protein digestibility, and concentration immunoglobulin Y of broiler. This experiment used 20 broilers aged 35th days. Basal diet was comprised of corn, rice bran, fish meal, meat bone meal, stone lime, premix, coconout oil, methionine without β-mannanase enzyme (M0). Basal diet with β-mannanase enzyme 0.016% (M1), 0.033% (M2), 0.046% (M3). The variables measured were metabolizable energy, protein digestibility, and concentration immunoglobulin Y. The experimental designed in this experiment was completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The results show that the highest energy metabolizable is M3 3358.56±18.08c, highest protein digestibility is M3 81.01±0.70c, and highest concentration immunoglobulin Y is M3 5.09±3.21a. It can be concluded that β-mannanase enzyme in-crease of metabolizable energy, protein digestibility, and decrease concentration immunoglobulin Y of broiler.

Abstract

The purpose of IbiKK activities “Poultry Farmers in Karangploso Malang toward organic farming was to make poultry farm "Mr Ali" and "Mr. Tasir" into an organic farm. Results showed that 1) farmers can carry and produce their own laying hens feed formulation based so it can replace the local feed mill feed with good quality with the introduction of poultry feed formulation software (UB Feed)  and horizontal mixer, 2) breeders can create and use technology package manufacture natural feed additive antibiotics substitute a mixture of probiotics, Phytobiotic  and acidifiers, while others are still in the form of development results to be passed in the coming years, namely a) the application of organic chicken farm farming package,  b) eggs and meat products are organic rejected,  c) product marketing network both eggs and organic meat still needs to be developed. Benefits of IbiKK activity is increased farmer income because it can reduce the cost of feed which is the largest component of 70 %, farmers already have knowledge about the cultivation of laying hens to produce organic products, although not yet fully implemented due to many factors that influence and the lack of a specialized agency in Indonesia authorized to certify organic products.

Abstract

The aimed research was to examine the effect of used form and level green cincau leaves (Cycleabarbata L. Miers) as feed additive on broiler performance (feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio and income over feed cost). The materials used were 192 Day Old Chicks (DOC) of Lohman MB Platinum with average initial body weight of 37.4±2.87 g, encapsulated or non encapsulated green cincau leaves (Cycleabarbata L. Miers) and encapsulants. Encapsulants that used was the mixture of gum arab-whey (4:1) wich was added BHT 0.06%. Encapsulants that used was 25% of green cincau leaves (Cycleabarbata L. Miers). The method in this experiment was in vivo experiment with Nested Completely Randomized Design with 2 form of green cincau leaves (Cycleabarbata L. Miers) (non encapsulated and encapsulated) and 4 levels of inclusions 0, 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5%, if there were significant effect it would be future tested with Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The result showed that green cincau leaves (Cycleabarbata L. Miers) in either encapsulated and non encapsulated form didn’t significantly effect (P>0.05) on consumption, feed conversion ratio and IOFC, but it significantly affected (P<0.05) body weight gain and they tended to increase (P<0.01) production index. Increasing levels of green cincau leaves (Cycleabarbata L. Miers) form 0 to 1.5% in encapsulated and non encapsulated form didn’t significantly improve feed conversion ratio, IOFC and production index, thought they tended to increase (P<0.05) feed consumption and they tended to increase (P<0.01) body weight gain. The conclusion of this research was encapsulated better than non encapsulated green cincau leaves (Cycleabarbata L. Miers). The optimal level of feed additive in encapsulated green cincau leaves (Cycleabarbata L. Miers) was 1.0%.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui dan mengukur efek penambahan calcidifier dalam pakan terhadap karakteristik interior telur itk Mojosari, serta mengetahui level presentase terbaik dari calcidifier untuk menghasilkan karakteristik interior telur yang paling baik. Itik Mojosari umur 32 minggu total 200 ekor sebagai objek. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan, terdiri dari P0 = Pakan basal diet tanpa penambahan Calcidifier, P1 = Pakan basal diet + Calcidifier 0,1%, P2 = Pakan basal diet + Calcidifier 0,2%, P3 = Pakan basal diet + Calcidifier 0,3%, P4 = Pakan basal diet + Calcidifier 0,4%. Calcidifier yang digunakan mempunyai derajat keasaman sebesar 3. Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian meliputi indeks putih telur, indeks kuning telur, volume putih telur, volume kuning telur, haugh unit, dan viskositas putih telur itik petelur Mojosari. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan ANOVA dari Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), apabila terjadi pengaruh perlakuan maka dilanjutkan dengan Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan’s (UJBD). Penambahan calcidifier dalam pakan dapat meningkatkan indeks putih telur dan meningkatkan volume kuning telur, tetapi tidak dapat meningkatkan indeks kuning telur, volume putih putih telur, viskositas putih telur, dan haugh unit. Penambahahan calcidifier dengan level 0,2%  memberikan hasil yang terbaik terhadap karakteristik interior telur itik Mojosari.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk menganalisis bagaimana respon ternak sapi perah terhadap produk Urea Molasses Medicated Block (UMMB) Temulawak. Adapun percobaan dilakukan di Laboratorium Lapang Sumber Sekar, Faculty of Animal Science, University of Brawijaya yang terseltan di Desa Sumber Sekar, Kecamatan Dau, Kabupaten Malang. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari : 1) Pembuatan formulasi UMMB Temulawak; 2) produksi UMMB Temulawak; 3) pemberian pakan pada lima ekor sapi perah laktasi; 4) evaluasi ;5) sosialisasi pada peternak sapi perah di sekitar lokasi Laboratorium Lapang Sumber Sekar. Metode dari kegiatan ini adalah percobaan pemberian pakan pada ternak, konseling dan produksi. Percobaan pemberian UMMB Temulawak pada ternak menunjukkan respon yang baik. Sapi perah tertarik pada produk UMMB karena aroma molassesnya yang mampu meningkatkan palatabilitas ternak. Kegiatan penyuluhan kepada masyarakat peternak di Desa Sumber Sekar pun menuai reaksi positif. Kekhawatiran mereka terhadap urea sudah terbantahkan dengan kondisi ternak yang tetap baik seusai mengonsumsi UMMB. Peternak juga mendapatkan informasi baru mengenai Temulawak dalam produk UMMB sebagai suplemen anti parasit. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah produksi UMMB Temulawak dalam skala besar dapat dikerjakan karena memiliki potensi pasar yang besar terlihat dari antusiasme peternak sapi perah di Desa Sumber Sekar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di peternakan ayam petelur Talang Farm KUD Sari Bumi Desa Talang Suko, Kecamatan Turen, Kabupaten Malang pada tanggal 23 Januari sampai 26 Februari 2009. Tujuan dari penelitian ini unutk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan tepung daun katuk (Sauropus androgynus L. Merr) atau TDK dalam pakan ayam penyelur terhadap penampilan produksi ayam petelur. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ayam petelur Strain Isa Brown umur 66-69 minggu produksi PT. Anwar Sierad sebanyak 100 ekor. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan antara lain pakan basal tanpa penambahan TDK (P0), Pakan basal+ 1,5 % TDK (P1), pakan basal + 3,0% TDK (P2), pakan basal + 4,5 % TDK (P3). Masing-masing perlakuan diulang 5 kali, sehingga terdapat 20 unit percobaan dan setiap 1 unit percobaan terdiri dari 5 ekor ayam petelur. Variabel yang diamati antara lain konsumsi pakan (g/ekor/hari) Hen Day Production (%), Egg mass (g/ekor/hari), konversi pakan dan Income Over Feed Cost (Rp). Data hasil penelitian ini diolah secara statistik dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Apabila ada perbedaan pengaruh diantara perlakuan,maka akan dilanjutkan dengan Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan’s. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan TDK dalam pakan dengan persentase 0 - 4,5% memberikan perbedaan pengaruh yang tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan (g/ekor/hari), Hen Day Production (%), Egg mass (%) dan konversi pakan sedangkan pada penambahan TDK sebesar 1,5% dalam pakan ayam petelur dapat memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik jika dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya.
