Abstract

This study investigates the conversion of mangrove wood charcoal into graphene using high voltage plasma technology through arc discharge. The experiment involves heating carbon with high voltage plasma generated from rod and plate electrodes. The variables examined are the electrode distance and carbon treatment time. The results demonstrate the successful conversion of mangrove wood charcoal into graphene. The generated plasma is influenced by the electrode distance, with a 1 cm gap producing stronger bluish-orange plasma. Varying the treatment time also affects the graphene yield, with a 3-minute treatment generating more graphene compared to 2 minutes, and 2 minutes yielding more graphene than 1 minute. XRD analysis reveals characteristic peak shifts indicative of graphene presence. SEM analysis confirms the graphene structure with porous features and sub-micrometer sizes. SEM images and diameter data further validate the successful conversion of carbon into graphene. These findings provide a foundation for the development of high voltage plasma-based production of graphene from mangrove wood charcoal. The utilization of a 10kV Neon Power Supply transformer enables the generation of high voltage plasma for the carbon-to-graphene conversion process. The electrode distance in the transformer plays a crucial role, as greater distances result in higher voltages, while shorter distances lead to lower voltages. This research significantly contributes to expanding the knowledge and application of graphene in various scientific and engineering fields. Moreover, the understanding of how electrode distance affects the generated voltage using a Neon Power Supply transformer is an important finding for optimizing the performance of this type of transformer.

Abstract

Palm kernel shells have a high mechanical strength and good insulation strength. From these results it can be concluded that breakdown voltage of epoxy resin/palm kernel shells is higher than pure resin or resin/alumina. The highest breakdown voltage that occurred in the resin/palm kernel shells (8 wt%) is 76 kV. While the highest breakdown voltage that occurred in the epoxy resin/alumina (17 wt%) is 57.15 kV. Breakdown voltages of both samples are higher than the pure epoxy resin of 36 kV. The maximum electric field density (Emax) in the pure resin is 0.24 MV/cm that is lower than the resin/palm kernel shell (8 wt%) of 0.51 MV/cm and the resin/alumina (17 wt%) of 0.38 MV/cm. Discharge current has a lot of pulses and high amplitude when all solid insulation approached the breakdown event. However, the current pulses in the pure resin are higher than in both resin/palm kernel shell and resin/alumina. The epoxy resin mixture with palm kernel shells can be used as a new solid insulator.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas perancangan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) untuk kolam ikan dengan sistem bioflok di Kampung Pangan Madani. Terdapat lima kolam ikan lele berkapasitas 1.000 ekor/kolam dan satu kolam ikan gurame dengan 250 ekor/kolam, yang memerlukan konsumsi energi listrik sebesar 6,6 kWh per hari. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan simulasi perangkat lunak PVSyst pada tiga topologi sistem PLTS, yakni On-grid, Off-grid, dan Hybrid. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa PLTS On-grid dengan 4 panel 250 Wp menghasilkan 1.325 kWh/tahun dan dinyatakan layak secara ekonomi dengan nilai COE Rp.1.404,00, NPV Rp.561.442 dalam 11 tahun, Shadow Price 1,01 per 1% perubahan, PI sebesar 1,49 dan DPP 11,97 tahun. Sementara itu, PLTS Off-grid dengan 10 panel 250 Wp dan 8 baterai 180 Ah menghasilkan 3.084 kWh/tahun, namun dinyatakan tidak layak dengan nilai COE Rp.2.951,84, NPV Rp.-86.075,46, PI 0,99 dan DPP 21 tahun. Pada analisa ekonomi dengan Shadow Price PLTS Off-Grid dengan NPV pada tahun ke-21 di peroleh hasil 0,94 per 1% perubahan. Adapun PLTS Hybrid dengan 5 panel 250 Wp dan 1 baterai menghasilkan 1.558 kWh/tahun dan dinyatakan layak dengan nilai COE Rp.1.799,50, NPV Rp.1.370.980 dalam 13 tahun,Shadow Price 0,99 per 1 % perubahan, PI 1,35,dan DPP 13,95 tahun. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem PLTS On-grid dan Hybrid lebih layak diterapkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan energi listrik kolam ikan berbasis bioflok

Abstract

Melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyraakat skema kemitraan, dosen Fakultas Teknik bersinergi dengan kegiatan Kukerta mahasiswa Universitas Riau melakukan program penambahan sistem penerangan di akses gerbang masuk dan keluar serta lingkungan Masjid yang sebelumnya redup. Direncanakan penerangan lsitriknya menggunakan lampu led berteknologi sel surya yang tingkat pencahayaan sesuai ketentuan Direktorat Jendral Bina Marga dan Pembinaan Jalan Kota sebesar 11-20 Lux. Untuk memenuhi kriteria tersebut dipilih sistem penerangan dengan tinggi tiang menyangga solar panel 6 meter, lampu led 60 W, dan daya solar panel 60 WP, dengan jangkauan penerangan dari titik bawah lampu radius 6 meter. Selama kegiatan proses pemasangan lampu penerangan yang dimulai dengan penggalian tanah untuk pondasi tiang penyangga, merakit solar panel 60 WP denganlampu LED 60 W, mendirikan tiang dan pengecor pondasi terlaksana dengan baik. Hasil pengukuran tingkat pencahayaan lampu dari titik bawah lampu radius 6 meter diperoleh 11 lux – 28 lux. Ini menunjukkan pemasangan lampu LED 60 W dengan catu daya solar panel 60 Wp dengan ketinggian lampu 7meter dari permukaan tanah menghasilkan tingkat pencahayaan yang sangat baik

Abstract

Khairul Ummah 2 Islamic Boarding School, located on Jalan Gajah, Bambu Kuning Village, Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City, is equipped with facilities such as a mosque, madrasah office, teachers’ housing, dormitories, gazebos, and learning spaces. However, lighting in the gazebo area is still inadequate, limiting its use at night. Through this community service project, a solar-powered lighting system was designed and installed to support nighttime activities, particularly Qur’an memorization. The system includes a 12V 30Ah battery module, a 12V–24V 30A solar charge controller (SCC), 12V 30-watt LED lamps, and a 100 Wp solar panel mounted on the gazebo roof. During the day, the battery is charged via the solar panel, and at night it powers the lamps. Four lighting units were installed and donated to the school. Post-installation, light intensity was measured using a fluxmeter, yielding results between 173–245 lux. This range complies with Indonesian National Standard (SNI 03-6575-2001), which recommends 120–250 lux for reading or working areas. The lighting system is expected to enhance the comfort of students’ nighttime activities, particularly Qur’an memorization, which is more effective in a calm and relaxed evening environment.

Abstract

Tulisan ini menyajikan analisis unjuk kerja mesin listrik jenis salient. Analisis dilakukan berdasarkan metoda park d-q yang digeneralisasi dengan menempatkan sumbu d-q pada rotor, untuk menentukan persamaan park komplek. Analisis kinerja arus gangguan tiga fasa pada mesin sinkron rotor kutub memonjol telah disajikan pada tulisan ini. Berdasarkan  metoda  park d-q dengan menempatkan sumbu d-q pada rotor, untuk menentukan persamaan park komplek telah diperoleh. Tulisan  ini menunjukkan bahwa persamaan mesin sinkron rotor kutub menonjol dalam bentuk park komplek lebih sederhana, dan sehingga solusinya lebih mudah. Dari hasil simulasi penyelesaian persamaan diferensial arus hubung singkat menggunakan metoda integrasi trapesium pada  mesin sinkron rotor kutub salient 3-fasa besaran-besaran yang penting seperti halnya  arus efektif  puncak maksimum saat terjadi hubung singkat fasa a sebesar 11,48A, fasa b sebesar 18,98 A, fasa c sebesar -19,47 A dan banyaknya siklus penurunan arus hubung singkat dari nilai maksimum sampai nilai konstan dalam  2 (dua) siklus dan waktunya selama 0,04 detik. Hasil simulasi yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui besaran listrik maksimum yang diperlukan sebagai  informasi  penting dalam pemilihan peralatan CB yang tepat dan peralatan prokteksi lainnya seperti halnya besaran  arus puncak efektif dari parameter listriknya telah diperoleh.

Abstract

Gas insulating material commonly used in electrical system is SF6 gas. SF6 gas is used as an insulator material in electrical system in transfer heat. However, SF6 gas is not environmentally friendly, and triggers the increase of global warming so it is necessary to conduct research to get other gas insulators as alternative materials such as gas Carbondioxide (CO2) and Nitrogen (N2). This study discusses the dielectric characteristics of a mixture of Carbondioxide (CO2) gas with Nitrogen (N2) under electrical stress (high voltage negative polarity). The study used spherical electrodes and needles with varying gap distances and we compared the gas breakdown voltage with ratio 25% CO2 : 75% N2, 50% CO2 : 50% N2, and 75% CO2 : 25% N2 respectively. The purpose this research is to find the maximum breakdown voltage for several ratio gases. From the test result obtained breakdown voltage in negative polarity is smaller than positive polarity. We also attempted the gases breakdown voltage 70 trials and it was indicated that the breakdown voltage varied -78,69 kV until -105 kV. The maximum discharge current recorded by an osciloscope was -104 A in 50% CO2 : 50% N2 ratio.Keywords : electrode, mixture insulation gas, polarity efect, dielectric power, negative polarity, breakdown voltage

Abstract

Electrical energy is very important today. The power company distributes the electric energy through the 150 kV overhead lines. The transmission line is a major part of the electrical energy distribution process. Overhead lines are supported by high towers, therefore the overhead lines and towers prone to lightning. The lightning current leads to the increasing voltage on the overhead lines. Surge arrester is a protective device used to protect overhead lines from lightning current. The analysis of the performance of the surge arrester against the lightning impulse requires the investigation in the placement of the surge arrester and the number of surge arresters installed. This study aims todetermine the magnitude of the voltage caused by lightning strikes by varying the location of the surge arrester on the overhead lines. This study was conducted by selecting a lightning strike at apeak voltage of 10 MV on a transmission tower using ATP software. This study indicated that the installation of surge arresters on the overhead lines for each tower leads to droping voltage verywell. The result of study shows that the best result was to install the arresters on each tower phase by decreasing the voltage at 1st tower by 0,4679 MV (92,81%), 2nd tower 0,5674 MV (92,64%), 3rd tower 1,2248 MV (85,79%), 4th tower 10 MV (0%), 5th tower 1,2322 MV (86,09%) and 6th tower 0,6219 MV (92,53%).Keywords : Lightning strikes, surge arrester, peak voltage, placement of surge arrester , voltage drop

Abstract

The performance of LiFePO₄ (LFP) cathodes was successfully enhanced by incorporating two types of graphene obtained through green and low-cost liquid shear exfoliation processes. Commercial LFP was combined with few-layer graphene (FLG) and very few-layer graphene (VFLG), with compositions ranging from 0-4 wt.%. LFP, LFP/FLG, and LFP/VFLG, were characterized using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), charge–discharge (CD), XRD, FTIR, and FESEM–EDX. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were further employed to probe the electronic structure of LFP and an idealized LFP(001)/pristine-graphene interface as a baseline model for interfacial electronic coupling. DFT indicated interfacial charge redistribution and the emergence of C-2p π-derived states near the Fermi level, resulting in bandgap narrowing relative to pristine LFP and suggesting an additional electronic percolation pathway at the interface. Experimentally, EIS showed that VFLG reduced charge-transfer resistance and increased effective electrochemical conductivity, while FLG addition was associated with improved interfacial charge-transfer behavior inferred from EIS. CD tests at 0.5 C showed that the 4 wt.% FLG and 4 wt.% VFLG electrodes delivered the highest specific capacities of 29.98 mAh/g and 44.66 mAh/g, corresponding to increases of 81.9% and 170.5% compared to bare LFP. XRD and FTIR confirmed that LFP phase integrity was maintained, and FESEM–EDX revealed a uniform particle distribution with well-dispersed graphene networks. Overall, these results demonstrated that shear-exfoliated graphene effectively improved electronic connectivity and charge-transfer behavior in LFP cathodes, supported by consistent electrochemical measurements and electronic-structure insights from DFT.

Abstract

Jaringan 4G dan 5G merupakan jaringan yang sangat pesat perkembangannya saat ini dan terus ditingkatkan kinerjanya untuk memenuhi layanan yang semakin berkembang. Salah satu layanan tersebut adalah Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dan membandingkan performa Quality of Service (QoS) layanan VoIP berbasis UDP pada jaringan 4G LTE dan 5G NR dengan Network Simulator 3 (NS-3). Empat skenario simulasi dirancang untuk merepresentasikan kondisi operasional yang berbeda: kondisi normal, trafik tinggi, mobilitas pengguna, dan interferensi dengan 3 node pengganggu. Parameter QoS utama yang dianalisis mencakup delay, jitter, packet loss, dan throughput, yang diekstraksi menggunakan FlowMonitor dan divisualisasikan melalui Python dan Microsoft Excel. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa jaringan 5G secara konsisten memberikan performa lebih baik dibandingkan 4G untuk semua scenario yang diuji. Nilai delay dan jitter pada 5G memiliki perbaikan sebesar 38% dan 88% dibanding 4G. Kemudian, perbaikan QoS 5G juga terjadi pada throughput dan packet loss dimana terjadi perbaikan sebesar 62% dan 100%. Penelitian ini menegaskan superioritas teknologi 5G dalam mendukung layanan VoIP real-time, dan dapat dijadikan dasar pertimbangan untuk pengembangan serta optimalisasi infrastruktur jaringan seluler di masa depan.
