Abstract

Nilai t hitung tercatat -4,802 memiliki derajat kebebasan (df) 24, sedangkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,005.

Abstract

This article informs the effectiveness of andradogy-based entrepreneurship learning on the motivation and creativity of unggulan Boarding School Roudhotul Ulum Pilang Sidoarjo elementary school students, East Java. The type of research in this article is a quasy experimental with a pretest-posttest control design. The research subjects were taken from class V, which consisted of 31 students divided into 2 groups, namely 16 students in the experimental group and 15 students in the control group. Analysis of the data used using descriptive analysis and parametric analysis. The results of the analysis test showed an increase in motivation and creativity scores for the experimental class. Even multivariate analysis found a relationship between learning entrepreneurship andradogy approach and motivation of 40.154 and creativity of 41.246 with a value less than 0.05. In this case, there are differences in motivation and creativity in andradogy-based entrepreneurship learning compared to conventional learning models. So, it can be concluded that learning entrepreneurship with the andradogy approach is effectively used to in increase the motivation and creativity of elementary school students.

Abstract

Students’ critical thinking (CT) in mathematical reasoning and problem-solving (PS) skills has not developed. In fact, these skills determine achievement in society 5.0. Therefore, learning models and media are needed to develop both. This study investigated the interaction of variables in problem-based learning (PBL) combined with play mathematics with technology (PhET) simulations for CT and PS skills. This study used quasi-experimental research design using questionnaires and test of CT and PS involving 126 students of grade V of Islamic primary school (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI)) and grade IX of Islamic junior high school (Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs)). Factorial analysis of the data used SmartPLS. Based on cross loading value, the MI level shows positive interactions on variable: “happy”, “easy to use”, and “as new thing” of PS skills (the explore and plan (EP), select a strategy (SaS), and find an answer (FaA) indicators) and CT skills (the recognition of assumption (RoA) indicator). At the MTs level shows positive interaction on PS skills (the read and think (RT) indicator) and CT skills (the inference (In) and interpretation (Int) indicators) on the “easy to use the PhET simulation” variable. Our findings highlight that combined PBL and PhET simulation has a significant relationship to develop students’ CT and PS skills.

Abstract

Computational thinking ability is one of the important skills in the 21st century. The MathWay application offers interactive features that support mathematics learning, especially in algebra material. This study aims to systematically review the existing literature related to the effectiveness of using MathWay on students' computational thinking skills. The research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, with data collection techniques carried out by studying relevant literature related to computational thinking, MathWay applications, and algebra. The article selection process is carried out by formulating research questions, conducting systematic literature searches, applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, and analyzing and summarizing findings, followed by making conclusions. The analysis uses the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses) diagram method, with four relevant scientific articles obtained. The results of the study indicate that the use of MathWay is effective in improving students' computational thinking skills, especially in problem solving and algorithmic thinking patterns.

Abstract

Mathematical reasoning ability is an essential aspect of mathematics learning because it helps students understand concepts and draw logical conclusions. However, many studies have shown that this ability remains low due to learning that is overly focused on procedures. Therefore, it is necessary to use engaging learning media that can help students connect abstract concepts with real experiences. This study aims to analyze students’ mathematical reasoning ability on the topic of probability using worksheets (LKPD) assisted by Spin the Wheel media. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving three eighth-grade students of SMPN 2 Waru, selected based on high, medium, and low reasoning categories. Data were collected through essay tests, observations, and interviews, and analyzed using four indicators of mathematical reasoning: (1) constructing sample spaces and determining probabilities, (2) making predictions, (3) comparing theoretical probabilities with experimental results, and (4) drawing logical conclusions. The results show that students’ mathematical reasoning ability falls into the moderate category, with the main difficulty found in comparing theoretical and experimental results. The Spin the Wheel media effectively helps students understand probability concepts more concretely and increases their learning engagement. However, teacher guidance is still needed to help students connect experimental findings with theoretical concepts.
