Abstract

Background : Adolescence is a period of transition from children to adults which is accompanied by growth and physical changes, including the growth of the reproductive organs. The maturity of the female reproductive organs is marked by the arrival of menstruation, one of the problems during menstruation experienced by young women is dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is usually concentrated in the lower abdomen that occurs before and during menstruation caused by uterine contractions. The management of dysmenorrhea can use non-pharmacological therapy, one of which is by giving tamarind turmeric drink. Tamarind contains curcumin and anthocyanins which inhibit cyclooxygenase, thereby reducing inflammation and inhibiting uterine contractions. The content of curcumenol in turmeric acts as an analgesic agent that can reduce the production of prostaglandins. Research Methods: This study used quantitative research with the pre-experimental one group pretest posttest method. The population in this study were 35 teenagers. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling, with a sample of 21 adolescents who experienced dysmenorrhea in May-July in Pelem Hamlet. Data collection used a pain scale observation sheet, namely the NRS (Numeric Rating Scale) before and after administration of tamarind turmeric. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results: Based on the analysis test using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, a significance value of 0.00 (p <0.05) was obtained, which means that Ha was accepted. Conclusion: There are differences in the degree of pain in dysmenorrhea before and after administration of tamarind turmeric, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of tamarind administration on dysmenorrhea in young women. Abstract

Background; Menstruation is bleeding that occurs when the uterine lining sheds. One of the factors that cause menstrual cycle irregularities is being overweight. According to the Surakarta City Health Profile, there were 8,889 cases of obesity in 2021, an increase compared to 2020 with 5,384 cases. In obese women there is an increase in estrogen production which causes an increase in androgen hormones, which can affect the development of mature follicles. Objective; This study aims to determine the relationship between obesity and menstrual cycle regularity. Method; Analytical observational research with a cross sectional research design. The population of all midwifery students at `Aisyiyah University Surakarta, totaling 142 students with a sample size of 59 respondents, used a purposive sampling technique. Primary data refers to the questionnaire sheet. The data obtained were analyzed using the Chi-Square statistical test. Results; The results showed that the analysis of the relationship between obesity and the regularity of the menstrual cycle using the Chi-Square test obtained p = 0.047. This figure is smaller than ? = 0.05, which means that there is a significant relationship between obesity and the regularity of the menstrual cycle of undergraduate students in Midwifery at `Aisyiyah University, Surakarta. The results of the Odds Ratio (OR) were also obtained at 3.187. This states that obesity increases the risk factor for irregular menstrual cycles up to 3.187 times. Conclusion; There is a relationship between obesity and the regularity of the menstrual cycle in adolescents.

Abstract

Anemia occurs when the hemoglobin level is less than normal or the level of red blood cells in the blood decreases. The beetroot betacyanin pigment is known as trimethyl glycine and is widely used as a radical scavenger, protection against disorders caused by oxidative stress (antioxidant), producing cells including red blood cells. So beetroot juice can be used as a non-pharmacological alternative in preventing anemia. This study aims to determine the effect of giving beetroot juice on increasing hemoglobin levels in young women with anemia at Darul Ihsan Muhammadiyah Sragen Middle School. The type of research used is quantitative research methods. The research design used was experimental with a one group pretest – posttest design approach. The sampling technique used simple random sampling, namely 21 anemic teenage girls at Darul Ihsan Muhammadiyah Sragen Middle School. Bivariate analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test using SPSS 26 for windows processing. The research showed that the average hemoglobin level before treatment was 11.414 g/dL and the average hemoglobin level after treatment was 11.757 g/dL or an average increase of 0.343 gdL. The result was p = 0.001 (Pvalue < 0.05) p-value. There is an effect of giving beetroot juice on increasing hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls suffering from anemia at Darul Ihsan Muhammadiyah Sragen Middle School.

Abstract

Dysmenorrhoea is experienced by 90% of women in Indonesia, because of this, around 14% of women cannot participate in learning at school or carry out daily activities, thereby reducing their productivity. Adolescent girls are in an unstable emotional condition, if they do not get good information about the menstrual cycle then they are easy to experience primary menstrual disorders. Primary dysmenorrhea is experienced by many teenagers who are growing and developing both physically and psychologically. Several efforts have been made to reduce pain complaints in cases of dysmenorrhoea, including non-pharmacological intervention, including Rosulullah-style treatment, known as Thibbun Nabawi treatment, including listening to the Koran and breathing exercises, this treatment is cheap and can be done independently by everyone. people who experience it. The implementation of socialization at Al Islam High School is really needed considering that in this school there are many cases of Dysmennorrhea, and no one has provided an understanding of these cases and how to manage them non-pharmacologically so that they can be overcome without causing side effects. The target of this community service proposal is Al Islam Surakata High School students. The benefit of this activity is to increase understanding about menstrual disorders, especially dysmenorrhea and treatment of pain complaints when dysmenorrhea occurs at low cost and without side effects. impact, namely by means of Tibbun Nabawi.”
