Abstract

This article examines the history, political dynamics, and contributions of two great Islamic empires, namely the Safavids in Persia and the Mughals in India, in the 16th to 18th centuries AD. Through a library study approach, this study explores historical sources and academic literature to analyze the factors of glory and causes of decline of the two empires. The results of the study show that the Safavids and Mughals experienced a golden age in politics, economics, science, art, and religious tolerance. However, both experienced decline due to weak leadership, internal conflicts, and external pressure from foreign powers. This study shows that the progress of civilization is largely determined by the stability of government, visionary leadership, and the ability to adapt to the challenges of the times. This study provides an important reflection on the dynamics of the glory and decline of Islamic civilization which can be a mirror for the development of civilization in the modern era.

Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine an epistemology of Islamic educational psychology through the spirit of feminism in responding to gender-biased educational practices. Novelty: This research combines feminist theory with Islamic educational psychology, offering a transformative paradigm that has rarely been explored in previous research. Methods: This study uses a qualitative approach. The data sources were obtained by analyzing various existing literature, both from books and scientific journals. Results: The results of this study indicate that Islamic educational psychology can elevate the dignity of women's rights, the spirit of feminism is met with the spirit of Islam in developing education that upholds equality. Through an approach that combines the spirit of feminism with Islamic educational psychology, this study offers a new paradigm that is inclusive and equal. Conclusion: This approach emphasizes curriculum reform, teacher empowerment, and the implementation of affirmative policies as real steps to eliminate gender bias. By involving all elements of society, including religious figures and academics, it is hoped that cultural and policy changes can be achieved sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to critically examine the historical dynamics of the Khulafaur Rasyidin period as the initial phase of the formation of the Islamic government system. The four caliphs Abu Bakar, Umar, Uthman, and Ali ruled in a highly diverse and tense socio-political context. Analysis shows that this period was not entirely stable and harmonious, but rather fraught with internal crises such as elite conflicts, regional rebellions, and social fragmentation. Uthman bin Affan's leadership was marked by nepotism and public discontent that sparked open rebellion, while Ali bin Abi Talib's reign took place amid civil war and the emergence of armed opposition movements such as the Khawarij. This study utilises a historical-critical approach with classical Islamic sources and narrative analysis of power dynamics to demonstrate that the history of the Khulafaur Rasyidin needs to be understood in a more contextual manner. The results of this research are expected to enrich the discourse on Islamic political history by emphasising the importance of examining the complexity of social realities and the challenges of post Prophet governance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara ilmu pengetahuan dan moral dalam perspektif filsafat ilmu, dengan fokus pada ontologi, epistemologi, dan aksiologi ilmu pengetahuan. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi sejauh mana keterkaitan antara ilmu pengetahuan dan nilai-nilai moral dalam pengembangannya, serta apakah ilmu pengetahuan dapat berkembang secara objektif tanpa dipengaruhi oleh moralitas, ataukah nilai-nilai moral harus selalu diperhitungkan dalam setiap tahap pengembangan ilmu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan studi literatur yang mengkaji pandangan-pandangan filsafat ilmu mengenai konsep ilmu bebas nilai dan terikat nilai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun ilmu pengetahuan berusaha untuk tetap objektif dan bebas nilai, dalam kenyataannya, ilmu tidak dapat sepenuhnya terlepas dari moralitas. Dalam perspektif ontologis, objek penelitian tidak hanya terkait dengan fenomena empiris tetapi juga nilai-nilai yang mendasari fenomena tersebut. Secara epistemologis, meskipun ilmu berusaha menjaga objektivitas, proses memperoleh pengetahuan dipengaruhi oleh norma sosial dan etika yang ada dalam masyarakat. Dalam ranah aksiologi, penerapan ilmu pengetahuan harus memperhatikan nilai-nilai moral, seperti keadilan sosial, hak asasi manusia, dan kesejahteraan umum. Kesimpulannya, ilmu pengetahuan dan moral harus berjalan seiring, dengan ilmu yang dikembangkan berdasarkan nilai-nilai moral untuk memberikan manfaat maksimal bagi masyarakat dan memastikan dampak sosial yang positif.
