Abstract

This study aims to know the effect of kind of planting media and liquid complementary fertilizer and to know the best treatment on growth and yield of pakcoy plant on hydroponic system. The experiment was conducted in the green house of Faculty of Agriculture Riau University from July to September 2018. This researched experimentally by the form of 3x4 faktorials arranged according to a Complete Randomized Design (CRD)consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was planting media which were charcoal, burnt sawdust and cocopeat. While the second factor was liquid complementary fertilizer of Bayfolan with concentration of 2 and 3 cc.l-1 of waterand Gandasil-D with concentration of 2 and 3 g.l-1 of water. Theparameters observed were the plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight per plant, weight of worth consumption and root volume. The result showed that the giving of various planting media and liquid complementary fertilizerhas a significant effect on plant height, fresh weight and weight of worth consumption, but no significant effect onthe number of leaves and root volume. The aplication of liquid complementary fertilizer of Gandasil-D with a concentration of 3 g.l-1 of water and Bayfolan with a concentration of 3 cc.l-1 of water to the burnt sawdust media produced more leaves, heavier fresh weight and weight of worth consumption than other treatments.Keywords: pakcoy plant, planting media, liquid complementary fertilizer, hydroponic.

Abstract

Onion production which decreased in Riau province affected by the lack of interest and experience of farmers. Riau has extensive peatlands, efforts to increase the productivity of peat soil as crop production land can be done by combining the use of organic such as compost oil palm empty fruit bunches (EFB) and inorganic fertilizers such as manure KCl. This study aimed to determine the effect of the combination of composted manure TKKS with KCl and get a dose of compost TKKS combination with best KCl fertilizer which can improve the growth and yield of onion on the peat medium. The research was conducted in the House Kasa, the Experimental Farm of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau, in November 2015 until February 2016. The research was conducted experimentall using on completely randomized design (CDR) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The data were analyzed statistically by analysis of variance and tested further with Duncan's multiple range test at 5% level. The results showed that the administration of various doses of compost TKKS with KCl fertilizer can not increase the plant height parameters, number of tuber per hill and the circumference of the tuber however the good effects toward the tuber weight fresh and the tuber shelf weight per clump on onion crop. Giving compost TKKS with fertilizer KCl at a dose of 150 kg K2O / ha showed the best results because it can increase the tuber weight fresh and the tuber shelf weight per clump. Abstract

The research was conducted at experimental farm, the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Campus Bina Widya Km 12,5, sub-district of Simpang Baru, district of Tampan, Pekanbaru, from March until June 2016 to got combination of manure and KCl fertilizer well as best single factor for the growth and production of shallot. The research design was randomized completely block design, factorial 2 x 4 and 3 replications. The first factor was manure (cow manure and chicken manure) and the second factor was KCl fertilizer (0,200,300 and 400 kg.ha-1). Data results were analyzed statistically operates with anova and Duncan test continued level of 5%. Parameter observed were plant height, total of leaves, winding of bulbs, total bulbs/clump, fresh weight of bulbs and dry weight of bulbs. The result revealed that the 20 ton.ha-1 chicken manure with 200 kg.ha-1 KCl fertilizer were the better than another treatments because the treatments showed the highest quality that fresh weight of bulbs (373,5 g.m-2) and dry weight of bulbs (314,4 gr.m-2).  Key word : manure, KCl fertilizer, shallot.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi dosis kompos rumen sapi dan konsentrasi pupuk hayati serta faktor tunggal yang baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil selada dengan sistem vertikultur. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Unit Pelaksanaan Teknis Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau Pekanbaru dari September hingga November 2018. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial. Faktor pertama ialah dosis kompos rumen sapi yang terdiri dari 10, 20 dan 30 ton.ha-1. Faktor kedua ialah konsentrasi pupuk hayati yang terdiri dari 0, 10, 20 dan 30 ml.l-1 air. Parameter yang diamati ialah tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, berat segar per tanaman, berat layak konsumsi per tanaman dan volume rambut akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi kompos rumen sapi     30 ton.ha-1 dengan pupuk hayati 20 ml.l-1 air memberikan hasil yang lebih baik untuk berat segar dan berat layak konsumsi selada. Faktor tunggal pemberian kompos rumen sapi 30 ton.ha-1 menghasilkan pertumbuhan dan hasil selada yang lebih baik.Kata Kunci:  Tanaman selada, kompos rumen sapi, pupuk hayati, vertikultur

Abstract

Okra is highly nutriuos vegetables which can be developed in Riau with using Histosol and Ultisol land by addition Mahogany leaf ash. The aim of this research is to find out the influence of Mahogany leaf ash on medium Histosol, Ultisol, and the mixture and obtain best dose for each medium to growth and yield of Okra plants. The experiment was conducted in Experimental Field of Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, in Mei until September 2018 experiments multiplied with 3x4 factorial arengged according to Nested design (Nested). The first factor was application various medium, namely Histosol, Ultisol the mixture (1:1). The second factor was addition several ash doses, namely 0,25 recomended dose, 0,5 recomended dose, 0,75 recomended dose and 1 recomended dose (Histosol = 6 ton.ha-1, Ultisol = 12 ton.ha-1, and the mixture = 9 ton.ha-1). The result of this reasearch showed addition several ash doses on various medium has not significant to almost all parameter except stem diameter. The Addition of recomended ash dose on medium Histosol only increas fruits yields 15,66% with weights 150,17 g, medium Ultisol 32,55% with weights 114,00 g, and the mixture 29,17% with weights 121,00 g compared with addition 0,25 recomended dose.Keywords: Okra, Ash, Histosol, Ultisol

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the composition of sawdust and sago pulp as the best for the growth and development of the oyster mushroom. This research was completely randomize design which the threatments were media composition. K0= 100% sawdust without sago pulp, K1= 75% sawdust without sago pulp, K2= 50% sawdust without sago pulp, K3= 25% sawdust without sago pulp and K4= 0% sawdust without sago pulp. The observed were times a appears mycelium, mycelium growth speed, harvesting age, number of fruit bodies, body weight per baglog fresh fruit, stem length and the biological efficiency. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance. Followed by test of DNMRT 5%. The observation indicated that the use of mixture of sawdust and sago pulp as oyster mushroom growing medium were non significantly in improving mycelium growing speed and efficiency of biology, but tent to be the best of mycelium growing time, amount of fruit and long body stem. Media composition 75% sawdust and 25% sago pulp resulted tent to be best among combination treatments.Key Words: Sawdust, Sago Pulp and Oyster Mushrooms.

Abstract

This research aims to know the effect of rice husk ash interaction and OPEB compost and get the best combination to the growth and yield pepper plant in peat medium. This research was conducted at the experimental farm of the Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau started in January to June 2017. This experiment was conductin the form of a 3 x 3 factorial arranged according to a completely randomized design. The first factor is the grain of rice husk ash 0, 5 and 10 ton/ha. And the second factor is the grain OPEB compost 0, 5 and 10 ton/ha. Parameters observed are hight of plant, stem diameter, header width, day flowering, number of fruit crops, weigth of fruit crops. The results of observation data were further analyze by Duncan new multiple range test at 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of rice husk ash and OPEB compost gave effect on all parameters, Rice husk ash 10 ton/ha and OPEB compost          10 ton/ha is the best treatment to the growth and yield of pepper plants compared to other treatment. Keywords :   Rice husk ash, compost of oil palm empty bunches,  pepper plant, peat medium.

Abstract

This study is aimed at knowing the influence of mikoriza and rock phosphateand get a combination of good treatment for growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays saccarata Sturt) on peat land. This research has been implemented from August 2016 to November 2016 at the research garden of Agriculture faculty University of Riau, at a village of Rimbo Panjang, Tambang, Kampar district. Research was conducted by experimental design factorial of 3 x 4, arranged completely random draft (CRD). Factor I is application of mikoriza, M0 = without mikoriza, M1 = mikoriza 10 g per plant, M2 = mikoriza 20 g per plant and factor II is application of rock phosphate, P0 = without rock phosphate, P1 = rock phosphate267,85 kg.ha-1, P2 = rock phosphate535,71 kg.ha-1 and P3 = rock phosphate803,57 kg.ha-1. The results showed that application of mikoriza 20 g per plant and rock phosphate535,71 kg.ha-1 increased the percentage of the mikoriza infection from 15,50% to 83,00%, high of plant from 185,88 cm to 227,48 cm, leaf wide from 341,97 cm2 to 545,06 cm2, stem diameter from 1,75 cm to 2,25 cm, speed up the time appears to be a male flower from 51,50 HST to 48,00 HST, diameterof cob from 4,63 cm to 5,31 cm and increasing production per plot from 2,30 kg 4,5 m-2 to 4,95 kg 4,5 m-2 compared application of mikoriza 0 g per plant and rock phosphate 535,71 kg.ha-1.Keywords : sweet corn, mikoriza, rock phosphate

Abstract

This study aims to determine the composition of the best growing media  for the growth and yield of tomato plants withverticultural systems. This research was carried out in the greenhouse of the University of Riau Faculty of Agriculture Experiment station for 4 months starting from October 2017 to January 2018.This study was an experiment using a randomized block design (RBD)consisting of 5 treatments, namelyP1 = Soil  Inceptisol + Sand + Compost TKKS (1 : 1 : 1), P2 = Soil Inceptisol + Sand + Compost TKKS (1 : 1 : 2), P3 = Soil Inceptisol + Sand + Compost TKKS(1 : 2 : 1), P4 = Soil Inceptisol + Sand + Compost TKKS (2 : 1 : 1) and P5 = Soil Inceptisol + Sand + Compost TKKS (2 : 2 : 1).The parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, age of first flowers appearance, age of first harvest, number of flowers, number of fruits and weight of fruit.                       The 2 : 1 : 1 Planting media composition cultivated with verticulture system produces fruit weight an average of 286,4 g in tomato plants which tend to be better. Keywords: Tomato plants, composition of planting media, cultivation of verticulture systems.

Abstract

                This study aimed to determine the effect of the use of some of the embedding medium and the volume of water provision and get the best combination for growth and pakcoy crop is cultivated with vertikultur system. This research has been conducted in the greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru, for 4 months from April to July 2017, This study uses a randomized block design (RAK) factorial. The first factor was embedding medium consisting of 3 levels, Medium base: rice husk ash: sawdust ash M1=1:0:0, M2=1:1:0, M3=1:0:1 The second factor was the volume of water consists of 5 levels, V1=100 ml,V2=150 ml, V3=200 ml, V4=250 ml, V5 =300 ml/day. Parameters those observed were: plant height, leaf number, root volume, fresh weight and marketable crop for consumption. The results of further analysis of variance using Duncan's multiple range test at the 5 % level. Interaction of planting medium composition and the water volume did not  give significant effect on plant height, leaf number, root volume, fresh weight and the weight of the marketable plant for consumption. Marketable crop for consumption very strongly positively correlated with plant height and fresh weight as well as being correlated with the number of leaves. Keywords: Pakcoy, Medium planting, Water volume, Vertikultur.
