Abstract

The freight forwarding business, namely transportation services from various modes of transportation (carrier) and arranging a series of shipments from several senders is growing rapidly during the pandemic and post Covid-19 pandemic. However, this business development is not without problems. Security disturbances during the cargo delivery process are a major problem, and this often happens in Indonesia. For this reason, this research will build a cargo delivery security system using automation technology and based on the Internet of Things (IoT). The system is a Smart Lock installed on the cargo. This smart lock can be monitored remotely, such as opening or closing the lock and the condition of the cargo in the field. Only the cargo owner can open or close the cargo lock. In addition, this system is also equipped with temperature and vibration sensors to maintain the quality of the goods in the cargo. The results of this research will be useful for the security system and convenience of the cargo delivery process and the digitization process will be easier to do in the future.

Abstract

Sungai telah menjadi bagian yang penting bagi masyarakat di Indonesia. Namun kondisi sungai pada saat ini banyak yang tercemar dan mengalami pendangkalan. Pendangkalan diakibatkan oleh sedimentasi. Pertambahan sedimentasi dapat dilihat dari perubahan bentuk kontur tanah dan peningkatan volume tanah didalam air. Perubahan bentuk kontur tanah dapat dideteksi dengan menggunakan sensor ultrasonik. Sensor ultrasonik dapat mendeteksi keberadaan benda/objek didalam air. Pada prinsipnya, sensor ultrasonik bekerja menggunakan pantulan gelombang dari suatu benda/objek didepannya. Dalam hal ini, sensor ultrasonik ditempatkan sedikit masuk kedalam air dan lapisan tanah didalam air dapat dideteksi sebagai suatu benda/objek. Parameter yang akan diukur yaitu jarak deteksi yang dilakukan secara horizontal dan vertikal. Data hasil pengukuran seluruhnya akan ditabulasi dan dibuat dalam bentuk grafik 3D menggunakan matlab sehingga akan terbentuk seperti bentuk kontur tanah yang mendekati bentuk kontur tanah sebenarnya

Abstract

Pembangunan waduk dapat mendorong pemerataan ekonomi dan kesejahteraan, meningkatkan kedaulatan pangan serta untuk pengendalian banjir. Namun banyak waduk yang jebol di Indonesia disebabkan oleh wadah penampung (dead storage) waduk yang semakin kecil akibat dari sedimentasi sehingga naiknya permukaan air waduk dan keluar dari jalur tumpahannya (spillway). Pentingnya dilakukan monitoring terhadap naiknya permukaan air sebagai tindakan pertama untuk pencegahan bencana jebolnya tanggul waduk. Pendeteksian ketinggian air dapat menggunakan sensor ultrasonik. Dalam hal ini, sensor ultrasonik ditempatkan diatas permukaan air. Parameter yang diukur yaitu jarak deteksi terhadap permukaan air secara vertikal. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran, sensor ultrasonik JSN-SR04T dapat mengukur sampai diatas 200 cm terhadap permukaan air. Pengukuran dilakukan sebanyak 10 kali dengan hasil rata-rata error rate 3,21%. Pembacaan data dilakukan dalam 5 level ketinggian air. Digunakan logika fuzzy untuk menentukan klasifikasi ketinggian permukaan air. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, jarak deteksi rata-rata 209,14 cm α-predikat 1 status “Air rendah”, jarak deteksi rata-rata 181,17 cm α-predikat 0,2 status “Air rendah”, jarak deteksi rata-rata 154,83 cm α-predikat 0,2 status “Air agak rendah”, jarak deteksi rata-rata 128,05 cm α-predikat 0,2 status “Air sedang”, jarak deteksi rata-rata 102,29 cm α-predikat 0,2 status “Air tinggi”.

Abstract

Sistem proteksi gedung ini terdiri dari sistem proteksi internal dan eksternal. Sistem proteksi internal adalah suatu sistem yang memproteksi suatu bangunan untuk menghindari terjadinya beda potensial pada semua titik di instalasi atau peralatan yang terdapat di dalam 3 bangunan yang dapat dihasilkan dari induksi elektromagnetik sambaran petir. Sedangkan sistem proteksi eksternal terdiri dari terminasi udara, kawat penghantar dan pentanahan yang dimana sistem proteksi ini yang terletak di luar kontruksi gedung yang berfungsi sebagai titik sambar petir yang menerima arus petir secara langsung dan mengalirkannya ke sistem grounding melalui kawat penghantar (down conductor). Sistem proteksi petir yang menjadi objek pada penelitian ini adalah sistem proteksi petir eksternal. Pemasangan sistem tersebut didasarkan pada standar-standar yang telah diterapkan di Indonesia yaitu standar NFPA (The National Fire Protection Association) 780, standar IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) 1024-1-1. Perhitungan ini digunakan untuk mengetahui kebutuhan pemasangan sistem proteksi petir pada bangunan bertingkat tersebut. Kemudian selanjutnya menghitung jari-jari bola bergulir, sudut lindung dan jumlah penangkal petir. Sehingga dapat menampilkan zona proteksi penangkal petir menggunakan metode bola gelinding. Sehingga dapat diperoleh sistem proteksi petir eksternal yang sesuai dan dapat melindungi keseluruhan gedung dari sambaran petir.

Abstract

The issue of environmental damage due to the expansion of palm oil plantations in Indonesia has become a global issue. It has often hampered the development of the downstream palm oil industries in Indonesia. The European market was once closed to palm oil and derivative products from Indonesia. In fact, this industry has become a source of income and employment for millions of Indonesians. Therefore, palm oil industry must be supported with sustainable efforts. One of them is developing SADS (Soil and Air Detector System) model. Which is a tool for detecting soil and air environmental conditions around palm oil plantations. The parameters are soil PH, CO2 levels, temperature and humidity, and sunlight. The measurement results from this tool can be accessed and displayed in real-time via the internet. This is research aims to build a smart system as a solution to environmental problems around palm oil plantations. This is useful for knowing and observing the condition of palm oil plantations and as a basis for taking mitigation actions if the condition is in a critical state

Abstract

Sistem pendidikan Indonesia telah bergerak maju dengan digulirkannya program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). Pada pendidikan menengah juga telah mengalami perubahan kurikulum atau yang disebut dengan kurikulum merdeka. Kurikulum ini mengusung 60% Praktik di bengkel/workshop dan 40 % belajar teori di kelas. Pihak sekolah secara perlahan telah berusaha membangun fasilitas untuk mendukung kurikulum merdeka tersebut. Masih banyak sekolah yang kewalahan dan butuh dukungan dari seluruh stakeholder pendidikan. Melalui kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakan bersama mitra dari SMK Swasta Putra Jaya Stabat, secara langsung akan mendukung pelaksanaan kurikulum merdeka di sekolah-sekolah. Pada kegiatan ini, Tim POLMED akan memberikan pelatihan Bahasa Jepang kepada para siswa untuk memperkenalkan Bahasa Jepang sejak awal pendidikan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh mitra telah menjadi penyalur tenaga kerja ke Jepang secara reguler. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga memberikan modul praktikum berupa perangkat absensi, dan penambahan kapasitas jaringan internet. Kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan dan kompetensi para siswa agar bisa menang bersaing secara global.

Abstract

Dunia pendidikan telah mengalami perubahan pada saat pandemi dan pasca pandemi Covid-19. Walaupun pandemi sudah mereda, namun perubahan kebiasaan kearah penggunaan teknologi informasi dalam proses belajar mengajar (PBM) masih dilakukan. Pada saat ini, PBM dilaksanakan secara blended antara luring dan daring. Hal ini membutuhkan suatu jaringan internet yang memadai. Banyak sekolah yang belum mampu menyediakan fasilitas internet dengan memadai, padahal banyak prestasi-prestasi siswa yang sudah dicapai dari sekolah tersebut. Kemampuan siswa harus ditingkatkan melalui penguatan kemampuan literasi mereka. SD Swasta YP HKBP Pulo Brayan sebagai mitra kegiatan belum memiliki jaringan internet di sekolah. Sementara untuk meningkatkan literasi bagi para siswa dibutuhkan suatu jaringan internet. Untuk itu, kegiatan ini harus didukung dengan cara menambah jaringan internet, menambah pojok-pojok baca, menambah koleksi buku-buku, dan mengadakan sound system untuk mendukung program unggulan kerohanian. Hal ini semua untuk meningkatkan kemampuan/literasi siswa agar bisa berprestasi secara regional dan nasional.

Abstract

The use of green houses in plant cultivation is one way to approach optimal conditions for plant growth. Green houses are generally useful for protecting plants from extreme air temperatures. This requires further study of the smart features that will be built to support the concept of greenhouse agriculture. The development of automation technology is expected to help the monitoring system of parameters that affect the production of vegetable crops such as air temperature, and air humidity. These parameters will be monitored remotely using the Internet of Things (IoT) method. Based on the measurement results from the location at POLMED campus. For Medan Selayang the maximum temperature is 26.4oC and humidity is 68.8%. For the location in Medan Johor the maximum temperature is 25.4oC and humidity is 68.1%. For Medan Baru location, the maximum temperature is 25.1oC and humidity is 68.3%. For Medan Helvetia location, the maximum temperature was 24.7oC and humidity was 69%. Based on the test results, the temperature and humidity parameters can be monitored remotely by 106.4 km via the internet.

Abstract

The goods delivery service industry has emerged as a strategic business both during and after the pandemic. The shift towards online shopping, which became a norm during the pandemic, let’s continue post-pandemic, making it a promising sector for companies involved in goods delivery. However, the industry faces challenges, particularly related to security during shipment. One common issue is the inability to track vehicle positions, leading to unauthorized loading and unloading activities at incorrect locations, causing losses for business owners. Conventional mechanical locks are vulnerable to theft, duplication, key loss, and vandalism, making them inadequate for securing cargo. To address these issues, Smart Lock technology has been developed, offering enhanced security through modern, integrated features. This technology eliminates the need for physical keys, reducing the risk of loss, and allows for remote access management. Additionally, it enables cargo owners to monitor the vehicle's position and control the lock remotely. Given these advancements, there is a need to explore Tracking Systems for delivery vehicles, incorporating automatic locks controlled via Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Based on the measurement, the tracking system tool testing was carried out at 5 different locations. The distances are 2.9 km, 6.4 km, 3 km, 7.1 km, 4.7 km from campus. The GPS signal is sent to the cloud server Cloud of Jointech. Data transmission uses the GSM network. There is a delay difference of 2-3 seconds from the GPS time signal compared to the time data displayed on the website. The data provided from the GPS signal is updated every 20 seconds. Based on the 5 test locations that have been set, the on/off lock test has been successfully carried out.

Abstract

The demand for vegetables in Batubara Regency is extremely high. Currently, the supply of vegetables is still imported from Tanah Karo and Deli Serdang Regency. This is due to the geographical condition of Batubara Regency which is in a coastal area. The majority of their people work in the fisheries sector. This opportunity was taken by our partner from SMK T. Amir Hamzah Indrapura by building greenhouse to produce vegetables. However, there are obstacles, namely the partner does not have a cheap source of electricity to increase the production of hydroponic vegetables. Therefore, it is necessary to build an alternative electricity source in the form of a solar power plant. It saves monthly electricity costs at the greenhouse. An environmental monitoring system needs to be built at the greenhouse to maintain and monitor the parameters that affect the growth requirements of hydroponic vegetables such as temperature, humidity, and lighting.
