Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of pedagogical knowledge and subject matter knowledge on the teaching ability of students of the Physics Education of Universitas Flores. The method used is survey research using a quantitative approach. The population is students, and a sample of 30 students is obtained by systematic sampling. The research data were analyzed statistically using multiple linear regression equations. The results showed that there was a positive effect between pedagogical knowledge skills and the ability of subject matter knowledge with the teaching ability students of Physics Education of Universitas Flores. The results showed that there was a positive effect of pedagogical knowledge and the ability to subject matter knowledge with the teaching abilities of School Teaching Practice of students.

Abstract

Enhancing Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is essential in physics education to prepare students for analyzing and solving real-world problems. However, in under-resourced regions such as Flores, Indonesia, the development of HOTS is hindered by limited access to laboratories and traditional teacher-centered approaches. This study investigates the effectiveness of integrating Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) with PhET simulations as an instructional strategy to improve HOTS among university students. Using a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design, the study involved 36 students from the Physics Education Program at Universitas Flores. Students were exposed to four simulation-based inquiry sessions on alternating current (AC) circuits. HOTS were assessed through a 15-item test targeting analysis, evaluation, and creation dimensions, with data analyzed using a paired-sample t-test. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ HOTS, as indicated by the increase in average scores from 70.67 to 79.64 (p 0.001), with the most notable gain observed in the 'Create' category. The integration of IBL with PhET provided an interactive, contextual, and student-centered learning experience that supported conceptual understanding and cognitive engagement. Despite challenges related to infrastructure and teacher readiness, the findings highlight the potential of this approach in promoting critical and creative thinking. This study contributes to physics education by offering a scalable and cost-effective instructional model that aligns with 21st-century learning demands, particularly in resource-constrained environments.

Abstract

This study aims to compare science learning outcomes between students who take problem based learning (PBL) with students who take part in inquiry based learning (IBL). The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental research method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kuwus 2018/2019 school year which numbered 97 students and consisted of 4 classes.  Students who followed the PBL learning model numbered 24 people and those who participated in the IBL learning model were 24 people. Data collection research was carried out using test techniques. The data was processed into normalized gain (N_gain) between posttest and pretest. Furthermore, the data is calculated using the t-test to compare the mean gain of learning outcomes between students who take part in learning using the PBL model and students who take part in learning using the IBL model. The results showed that there t value (tcount) = 2.566 with a significance (Sig. (2-tailed)) of 0.014 so it can be concluded that  were differences in learning outcomes between students who took part in learning using the PBL model and students who took part in learning using the IBL model.Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Inquiry Based Learning, Learning OutcomesPenelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan hasil belajar antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran model PBL dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran model IBL. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kuwus tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 yang berjumlah siswa 97 orang dan terdiri dari 4 kelas. Siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran PBL berjumlah 24 orang dan yang mengikuti model pembelajaran IBL berjumlah 24 orang. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik tes. Data diolah menjadi gain ternormalisasi (N_gain) antara postest dan pretest. Selanjutnya data dihitung dengan menggunakan perbedaan rerata (uji-t) untuk membandingan rerata gain (Compare Mean-Independent Sampel T Test) antara PBL dan IBL. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan nilai t hitung (thitung) = 2,566 dengan signifikansi (Sig. (2-tailed)) sebesar 0,014 dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar antara siswa-siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan model PBL dengan siswa-siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan model IBL.Kata kunci: Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah, Pembelajaran Berbasis Inkuiri, Hasil Belajar

Abstract

This KKNM service activity aims to provide study guidance from home (BDR) and help students understand the subject matter during the Covid-19 pandemic. BDR is carried out offline because students do not have supporting facilities such as smartphones, besides that the internet network at KKN locations is not optimal. The KKNM was held in Compang Congkar Village, East Manggarai Regency, NTT. BDR was conducted for students from class I to class VI SDN Reba Rana with the material following the school's book guide. Tutoring for learning from home is carried out for three days a week, namely Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The method used is lecture, discussion and question and answer. The media used during tutoring are printed books and stationery. The result of the activity is that 70% of students understand the material provided and are enthusiastic about participating in the lesson. Tutoring activities during the pandemic are very much needed by students of SDN Reba Rana so that their understanding of the material will increase.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of using Augmented Reality (AR) through the Assemblr Edu application on students' understanding of physics concepts, particularly on the topic of climate change. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a quantitative approach and a posttest-only control design. The population was all eight classes of SMP Negeri 1 Ende in the 2025/2026 academic year. The sample consisted of two classes: class VIII F, the experimental class taught using the experimental method, and class VIII D, the control class taught using the conventional method, with a total of 64 students. The data collection technique used in this study was a test, with a posttest being administered to determine the differences between the control and experimental classes. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive analysis, normality testing, and independent sample t-tests using SPSS 25. The results of the post-test data analysis revealed a significant difference between the average conceptual understanding of students in the experimental class (81.63) and the control class (52.00). The normality test results indicated that the data were normally distributed (Sig. 0.100 > 0.05), allowing for hypothesis testing. The t-test results showed a significance value of <0.001, less than 0.05. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan hasil belajar antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran model PBL dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran model IBL. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonrandomized Control Group, Pretest–Posttest Design. Siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran PBL berjumlah 24 orang dan yang mengikuti model pembelajaran IBL berjumlah 24 orang. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik tes. Data diolah menjadi gain ternormalisasi (N_gain) antara postest dan pretest. Selanjutnya data dihitung dengan menggunakan perbedaan rerata (uji-t) untuk membandingan rerata gain (Compare Mean-Independent Sampel T Test) antara PBL dan IBL. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan ada perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar antara siswa-siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan model PBL dengan siswa-siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan model IBL.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the impact of emotional intelligence on students' physics learning achievement. Eighty-three students were taken randomly to measure their emotional intelligence. A questionnaire that measured emotional intelligence and learning achievement was obtained through school documentation. The data were analyzed using simple regression. The findings show that empathy is the aspect of emotional intelligence that gets the highest score. The regression results show Fcount (25.87) > Ftable (3.96). The findings of this research reveal that there is an influence of emotional intelligence on students' physics learning achievement. Emotional intelligence is a factor in a student's ability to learn and succeed in physics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan pembelajaran dari rumah secara luar jaringan pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam peserta didik kelas VII Sekolah Menengah Pertama Katolik Christo Regi. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah pendekatan deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif fenomenologi. Ciri penelitian kualitatif adalah bersifat deskriptif dimana data yang dikumpulkan berupa kata-kata dan juga gambar. Subyek dari penelitian ini adalah satu orang guru dan 25 orang peserta didik kelas VII.  Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi, kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Data-data yang sudah terkumpul, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan tahapan meliputi penjaringan data, klasifikasi, verifikasi dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran luar jaringan yang terjadi adalah; 1) perencaan pembelaajran berjalan cukup efektif; 2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran berjalan cukup efektif; 3) pelaksanaan evaluasi berjalan efektif. dan 4) Hasil belajar siswa cukup baik

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui kelayakan dan keefektifan modul ajar terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa kelas XI A3 SMA Negeri 1 Ende tahun pelajaran 2023/2024. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development dengan desain 4D (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). Subjek penelitian yaitu uji coba dari 4 orang validator yang terdiri dari 2 dosen sebagai ahli media dan 2 orang guru mata pelajaran fisika sebagai ahli materi, serta 36 siswa kelas XI A3 SMAN 1 Ende. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan lembar angket dan pretes-posttes. Analisis data dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif sederhana dan menggunakan uji t. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa materi berkategori sangat layak (83,35%), modul ajar sebagai media berkategori sangat layak (85,63%) dan modul ajar respon siswa berkategori sangat layak (96%). Pembelajaran fisika dengan menggunakan modul ajar pendekatan kontekstual dapat berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa SMA Negeri 1 Ende tahun pelajaran 2023/2024. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil perhitungan dengan menggunakan software SPSS versi 24 yaitu nilai sig (2-tailed) atau (0,000 kurang dari 0,05) pada  = 5% dan dk= 36, dan t = -8,790. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa modul ajar dengan pendekatan kontekstual layak dan efektif untuk digunakan.
