Abstract

Modernization is a threat that can co-opt Islamic boarding schools from moral development to a formalistic orientation. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of teacher’s personality competencies, the curriculum, and the climate of Islamic boarding school on the students’ morals both partially and simultaneously. This type of research is a survey with a quantitative approach. The population of this study was 234 students, with 70 samples selected using the Yamane formula. Data collection methods using questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis using descriptive statistical and inferential statistical analysis techniques. The results showed that the teacher's personality competence, the curriculum, and climate of the Islamic boarding school had a positive and significant effect both partially and simultaneously on the students’ morals. This research has implications for the need for all members of Islamic boarding schools to be synergistically responsible for creating a conducive boarding school climate and culture. This conduciveness will develop moral values through various educational programs, especially curriculum and teacher competence developments.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of teacher personality competencies, the curriculum, and the climate of Islamic boarding school on the morals of students in Sulawesi Selatan district, Indonesia. This type of research is a survey with a quantitative approach. Data collection methods using questionnaires, documentation, and observation. Data analysis using descriptive statistical and inferential statistical analysis techniques. The results showed that the teacher's personal competence, the curriculum, and climate of the Islamic boarding school have a positive and significant effect both partially and simultaneously on the morals of the students

Abstract

Religious plurality and social pluralism in Indonesia are like a double-edged sword.  On the one hand, it can strengthen social ties and cooperation between social joints, but on the other hand, it is very vulnerable to conflicts, both inter-religious and inter-religious groups.  This paper describes how diversity also has an impact on educational institutions and the importance of providing moral awareness to students in schools to live side by side, in harmony and peace within the framework of plurality and humanity, especially in facing the social lifestyle in the industrial era 5.0. Inclusiveness is full of values of respect for differences, openness to accepting diversity, upholding humanity above individualistic interests, and a great willingness to blend in and stick together in brotherly bonds that actually should be used as ethical values in religious education in schools.  Thus, the purpose of this paper which is sourced from in-depth social analysis and relevant literature studies is to provide understanding and awareness that religious education in school institutions should move from just formalistic-dogmatic learning to be a substantial learning, egalitarian and educates students to promote moderate, tolerant and inclusive attitudes towards religious diversity and avoid potential social conflicts.  Building inclusivism in schools starts with creating a climate of religious education that is open to all and not divided based on the religion of the students.  Furthermore, religious education puts forward human values and universal goodness to eliminate bad prejudice and hatred towards different communities.

Abstract

Kemampuan Baca Tulis Al-Qur’an (BTQ) mahasiswa pada universitas Islam sebagai generasi penerus cendekia muslim masih cukup rendah. Universitas Islam Makassar hadir dengan visi dan cita kampus Qur’ani yang diusungnya, menggelar orientasi mahasiswa baru dengan format Pesantren Arbain. Melalui pesantren ini diadakan pendampingan BTQ oleh dosen yang dinyatakan layak. Pendampingan ini bertujuan untuk (1) menyampaikan materi tajwid dan kaidah penulisan al-Qur’an; (2) mengevaluasi dan mengklasifikasi mahasiswa berdasarkan tingkat kemampuan BTQ-nya. Proses pendampingan menunjukkan bahwa materi BTQ telah disampaikan oleh dosen pembimbing dengan baik. Hasil evaluasi menemukan bahwa jumlah persentase mahasiswa yang berkemampuan BTQ dasar masih jauh lebih tinggi dibanding persentase mahasiswa yang berkemampuan BTQ lanjutan. Oleh karena itu, pihak UIM, dalam hal ini Pusat Lembaga Kajian Aswaja dan Pusat Lembaga Kajian Al-Qur’an perlu merancang dan melaksanakan program yang dibutuhkan mahasiswa dalam upaya peningkatan kemampuan BTQ.

Abstract

Pesantren (Islamic boarding school) is an educational institution in Indonesia that instills Islamic values in its students. In pesantren, the punishment given to students aims not to hurt, but to contain educational values. This study aims to analyze the application of punishment in pesantren. This research is qualitative with Islamic law and Islamic education approaches. The informants comprised several teachers and students of Pondok Pesantren DDI Mangkoso, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation, then analyzed using the descriptive analysis technique. The results showed that the forms of punishment applied to Islamic boarding schools were reprimands, assignments, and psychological and physical punishments. Punishment in Islamic boarding schools includes ta‘zīr in Islamic law. Even though there are written rules, in some cases, the implementation of ta‘zīr is very simple (depending on the subjectivity of the kiai or teacher), so it lacks legal certainty and only aims to give a deterrent effect to perpetrators. According to Islamic education, the punishments applied by Islamic boarding schools have met the objectives of implementing educational sanctions, namely a deterrent effect for the perpetrators and a deterrent for others. Therefore, legal certainty is not the main goal in determining and implementing punishment in Islamic boarding schools, but to improve the students’ scientific and moral quality. This research has implications for teacher innovation and various methods in Islamic boarding school education so that students participate in the educational process willingly and happily, not because they are forced or afraid of punishment.

Abstract

The reality of the lack of students understanding regarding the PTK principles so that they plagiarism and have difficulties compiling reports are the supervisors' unresolved responsibility. This research was aimed at analyzing the role quality on first and second supervisors at performing their tasks as supervisors for the subject PKP and their influences on students' abilities in writing the PKP reports. This is a survey research using a correlational quantitative approach. About 143 respondents were selected purposively consisting of 15% at all 953 population (total students of following the subject PKP at PGSD UPBJJ-UT Makassar). The data collecting method utilized questionnaires, documentation, and observation. Data were analyzed utilizing descriptive and differential statistic techniques. Results of this research indicate that (1) the role quality of both supervisors is in the highest category, while the students' capability in writing the PKP reports is at a high level. (2) The role quality of these supervisors both partial and simultaneous conditions, is affected positively and significantly on writing the PKP reports. Based on calculating the determinant coefficient, the role quality of these supervisors delivers a relatively small influence namely about 9.1% for writing PKP reports of students.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced the transformation of educational civilization, including pesantren education with its traditional characteristics. This study aims to analyze the existence of the DDI Mangkoso Islamic Boarding School as a representation of traditional Islamic educational institutions during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The primary data sources consisted of kiai, ustaz, students, and the community around the DDI Mangkoso Islamic Boarding School. Secondary data sources consist of books, journals, and other relevant scientific works. Data were collected using interview, observation, and documentation methods, then analyzed through three stages, namely data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the DDI Mangkoso Islamic Boarding School still exists as a traditional Islamic education institution by maintaining five roles, namely (1) transmission of classical Islamic sciences, (2) institute of da'wah, (3) preserver of Islamic tradition, (4) center for reproduction of ulama, and (5) place of community service and development.

Abstract

Courses during the COVID-19 pandemic had to be carried out online. Meanwhile, not all students are ready to take part in online learning. The Webinar Tutorial (Tuweb) is designed to facilitate the implementation of online courses. This research aims to analyze the influence of implementing Tuweb on student learning outcomes. This type of research is ex post facto, with a mixed method (quantitative and qualitative) and a descriptive approach. This research sample was taken from the entire population of 70 students. The research subjects consisted of four tutors. Data collection techniques use observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive-qualitative and descriptive-statistical techniques. The research results show that the implementation of Tuweb is in the very good category. Even though the tutor's course tool documents are not yet complete, the implementation of Tuweb shows that the tutor's performance is very good. Meanwhile, the implementation of Tuweb is in the very good category and has a perfect (very close) correlation with student learning outcomes. This research has implications for the importance of developing tutorial-based learning media so that course material can be accessed and studied by students anytime and anywhere.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis (1) implementasi manajemen berbasis madrasah (2) mutu pendidikan madrasah, dan (3) faktor pendukung dan penghambat implementasi manajemen berbasis madrasah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan madrasah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Objek penelitian ini adalah Madrasah Aliyah DDI Cambalagi, Kabupaten Maros. Informan dipilih secara purposif, yakni kepala madrasah, guru dan peserta didik Madrasah Aliyah DDI Cambalagi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Madrasah Aliyah DDI Cambalagi mengimplementasikan Manajemen Berbasis Madrasah dengan memperhatikan efektivitas dan efisiensi pendidikan, tata pengelolaan madrasah, SDM yang berkualitas, dan tingginya partisipasi masyarakat. Mutu pendidikan Madrasah Aliyah DDI Cambalagi didasarkan pada input, proses, dan output pendidikan. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada kiprah alumni dalam melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang perguruan tinggi, baik di Indonesia maupun di luar negeri, serta beberapa alumni yang berkiprah sebagai ustadz di daerah tempat tinggal masing-masing. Faktor pendukung implementasi manajemen berbasis madrasah, di antaranya: (a) Kepemimpinan dan manajemen sekolah yang baik, (b) peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia, (c) kondisi sosial, ekonomi, dan apresiasi masyarakat terhadap pendidikan, (d) profesionalisme pendidik, serta (e) mengadakan sarana dan prasarana. Faktor penghambat, di antaranya: (a) Perhatian pemerintah, (b) sarana dan prasarana yang belum memadai, dan (c) kurangnya tenaga pendidik dan kependidikan.

Abstract

Literasi digital dalam pembelajaran merupakan keterampilan esensial di era teknologi saat ini yang memungkinkan mahasiswa untuk mengakses, memanfaatkan, dan memahami informasi secara digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur hubungan dan pengaruh literasi digital terhadap prestasi akdemik mahasiswa pada mata kuliah rumpun matematika. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian deskrptif kuantitatif expose facto, Populasi dari penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa peserta mata kuliah rumpun matematika di Universitas Terbuka Makassar. Sampling penelitian ini menggunakan teknik Purposive sampling. Variabel yang diukur meliputi literasi digital (X1), kondisi sosial ekonomi (X2), dan faktor pendukung literasi digital (X3) terhadap prestasi akademik (Y) dengan menggunakan korelasi Pearson. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner Skala Lykert yang disebarkan melalui Google Form sehingga diperoleh sebanyak 139 responden, dan dianalisis menggunakan SPSS 25. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara literasi digital (X1) dengan kondisi sosial ekonomi (X2) (r = 0,604) dan faktor pendukung literasi digital (X3) (r = 0,590), dengan tingkat signifikansi 0,01. Selain itu, terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kondisi sosial ekonomi (X2) dan faktor pendukung literasi digital (X3) (r = 0,619). Namun, tidak ditemukan hubungan signifikan antara variabel independen (X1, X2, X3) dengan prestasi akademik (Y), di mana semua nilai korelasi antara Y dengan ketiga variabel independen sangat rendah dan tidak signifikan secara statistik. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa prestasi akademik tidak dipengaruhi secara signifikan oleh literasi digital, kondisi ekonomi, dan dukungan infrastruktur dalam konteks analisis ini.
