Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang profil keterampilan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan metakognisi siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA biologi, khususnya pada konsep ekosistem di SMP Negeri 07 Palu dan SMP Negeri 19 Palu. Penelitiannya menggunakan metode deskriptif, dengan populasi adalah siswa kelas VII. Sampel penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas VII A SMP Negeri 7 Palu berjumlah 36 orang dibelajarkan dengan strategi Reciprocal Teaching (RT), dan siswa kelas VII B SMP Negeri 19 Palu berjumlah 34 orang dibelajarkan dengan strategi kooperatif STAD. Sampel ditentukan secara purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes keterampilan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan metakognisi berbentuk essay, terdiri atas 12 butir pertanyaan, dengan nilai reliabilitas 0,760. Kedua tes diberikan diawal pembelajaran (pretes) dan pada akhir pembelajaran (postes). Data penelitian, dianalisis secara deskriptif, berdasarkan perbedaan kemampuan akademik siswa (atas dan bawah), dan strategi pembelajaran yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan strategi pembelajaran, rerata nilai postes keterampilan berpikir kritis dan metakognisi siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan strategi kooperatif STAD lebih tinggi dari rerata nilai postes keterampilan berpikir kritis dan metakognisi siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan strategi RT. Berdasarkan perbedaan kemampuan akademik, siswa berkemampuan akademik atas lebih menguasai keterampilan berpikir kritis maupun metakognisi dibandingkan dengan siswa berkemampuan akademik bawah, setelah dibelajarkan dengan strategi STAD maupun strategi RT dalam pembelajaran ekosistem di SMP.Kata kunci: Berpikir kritis, metakognisi, pembelajaran, biologi.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the potential of students to ask questions and think critically in the subject of developing teaching materials using the problem-based learning model. Research using descriptive methods; data collection using observation sheets of asking activities, and tests of critical thinking skills in the form of essays. Data analysis was carried out descriptively. The results showed that the average percentage of student questions was dominated by the low-level thinking category (LOTS) by 80%; the question category of higher-order thinking (HOTS) by 20%. The percentage of student questions in the HOTS category is 69.2% lower than in the LOST category. In the aspect of critical thinking skills, the mean value of the interpretation indicator is 82.80; analysis 84.05; inference 79.6; evaluation 81.0; explanation 75.3; and indicators of self-regulation worth 70.5. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model can facilitate students to increase their potential to ask questions and think critically in learning the development of teaching materials.

Abstract

The introduction of herbariums in schools as a medium to concrete material and support science learning and plant identification based on a school environment that makes it easier to teach material on the structure and function of plants in class VIII at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Gorontalo district is the goal in this service activity. The stages of activities using an active participatory approach consist of 4 stages, namely 1) preparation; 2) coordination; 3) implementation; 4) evaluation. The number of students who took part in the activity was 30 people and was attended by the principal and 3 teachers. The herbarium introduction and plant identification activities based on the school environment went smoothly and wisely, as seen from the enthusiasm of the participants in participating in the activity from start to finish. The introduction of the herbarium gives meaning and impression to MTs students. Negeri 2 Gorontalo district because it is able to provide knowledge to students about one method/media to determine plant taxon. Identification of plants based on the school environment provides knowledge and skills to MTs students. Negeri 2 Gorontalo district in supporting learning activities in schools regarding the introduction and description of plants.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to test the feasibility of developing a macroscopic mushroom encyclopedia as a learning medium. This research is Research and Development (R&D) research. The research procedure adapted the ADDIE development model. The adaptation of the ADDIE model in this research was carried out at the encyclopedia validation stage. The encyclopedia validation test was carried out by two expert validators, namely a material expert validator and a media expert validator. Next, validators are asked to provide a general assessment and suggestions regarding the encyclopedia that has been developed, whether the encyclopedia is valid or invalid. Validation of the macroscopic fungal encyclopedia is in the very feasible category with a percentage of 92% by media expert validators and a percentage of 91% by material expert validators. The results of the validity test show the category is very feasible, which means that the resulting encyclopedia media does not need to be revised and is suitable for testing.

Abstract

Prospective teachers' ability to ask questions in the learning process needs to be trained to develop their potential in the teaching aspect, through practical activities to introduce the field of learning (PLP) II in schools. This research aims to describe the questioning abilities of prospective biology teacher students in the Biology Education Study Program, Biology Department, FMIPA Universitas Negeri Gorontalo in the PLP II course at Suwawa 1 State High School, Gorontalo Province. The type of research is a survey with a qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects were 10 (ten) students from the Biology Education Study Program who were programming the PLP II course. The research uses qualitative descriptive methods. Data collection techniques, using observation sheets to observe the questioning ability of each prospective biology teacher; and voice recording devices when prospective teachers ask students questions. Data collection was carried out in 3 (three) learning meetings. The quality of questions refers to the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy. The data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis. The research results show that students' questions in the learning process are dominated by lower level questions or Lower Order Thinking Skill (LOTS) with a percentage value of 88.57%. Meanwhile, for the high level question category or Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS), the percentage was 11.43%, lower than LOTS questions.

Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR)-based flashcard learning media is the latest innovation that presents attractive 3D visual animations. This technology can make complex and abstract concepts easier to understand, triggering students' creativity, interest and curiosity in learning. Thus, this media can be an alternative solution in overcoming various learning problems. The purpose of this study is to test the validity of Augmented Reality-based flashcard learning media on cell material in class XI SMA, to ensure its effectiveness in improving student understanding. This research method uses a research and development approach with the ADDIE development model. The results showed that the assessment of the validity of Augmented Reality-based flashcard learning media by material experts included, 93% feasibility aspects, 86% presentation components, 92% language, and 90% AR media, with an average of 90% which included the category "Very Valid." Media experts assessed aspects of display design 70%, text design 76%, and Augmented Reality images 73%, with an average obtained of 74% or "Valid". The validity results obtained from material experts and media experts show an average percentage of 83% on each aspect assessed, which is included in the "Very Valid" category. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that Augmented Reality-based flashcard learning media is feasible to use to support the learning process.

Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that is one of the new innovations in learning by displaying images in 3D form which makes abstract concepts more real, such as students can observe cell models directly through Augmented Reality visualization. This research aims to test the validity of Augmented Reality-based learning modules in class XI SMA cell material. This type of development research or Research and Development (R&D) uses the ADDIE development model which is carried out up to the development stage, namely validity testing. The results of the validity test show that the Augmented Reality-based learning module on cell material obtained an average validity value of 94% by material experts and validation carried out by media experts showed an average of 75.38% which meets validity standards. Based on these results, this module was declared valid and suitable for use in learning.

Abstract

Environmental problems are becoming increasingly complex and tangible. This requires biology learning that is contextual and relevant to daily life. However, the learning process in the classroom still heavily relies on textbooks and lecture methods that do not actively involve students. Therefore, interactive teaching materials that connect the subject matter with current environmental issues are needed. This research aims to develop and test the validity of E-LKPD based on the Socio Scientific Issues (SSI) approach on the topic of environmental changes. The development model used is ADDIE, limited to the first three stages: Analysis, Design, and Development. The research method employs a quantitative descriptive approach involving two expert validators, namely a media expert and a content expert. The instruments used consist of validation sheets with a rating scale. The validation results show that the media and content aspects received an average score of 98%, which falls into the 'very valid”. Thus, this SSI-based E-LKPD is deemed suitable for use as a learning resource in biology education, particularly on the topic of environmental changes. Abstrak. Permasalahan lingkungan semakin kompleks dan nyata. Hal ini menuntut pembelajaran biologi yang kontekstual dan relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun, proses pembelajaran di kelas masih banyak bergantung pada buku teks dan metode ceramah yang kurang melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan bahan ajar yang interaktif dan mengaitkan materi dengan isu lingkungan aktual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji validitas E-LKPD berbasis pendekatan Socio Scientific Issues (SSI) pada materi perubahan lingkungan. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah ADDIE, terbatas pada tiga tahap awal: Analysis, Design, dan Development. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan melibatkan dua validator ahli, yaitu ahli media dan ahli materi. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar validasi dengan skala penilaian. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa aspek media dan materi memperoleh skor rata-rata sebesar 98%, termasuk dalam kategori “sangat valid”. Dengan demikian, E-LKPD berbasis SSI ini dinyatakan layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar dalam pembelajaran biologi, khususnya pada materi perubahan lingkungan.
