Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulties of students at SMP IT in Cimahi in solving story problems on the material for the Two Variable Linear Equation System (SPLDV). This study used descriptive qualitative method. The subject in this study was to take a sample of 10 students from class VIII. Data was obtained by testing written test questions in the form of essays that refer to the indicators that have been set in the learning instrument. From the data analysis, it is known the students' difficulties. The difficulties experienced by students include students having difficulty converting story questions into mathematical models, difficulties at the stage of solving problems in the elimination method, substituting one of the variables that were previously found, and changing the replacement value of the variable that has been found into the sentence asked in this stage draw conclusions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve student learning outcomes on the subject of Two Variable Linear Equation System (SPLDV) Class X SMK-TI Garuda Nusantara majoring in Computer Network Engineering (TKJ). This research uses classroom action research (Classroom Action Research). Classroom Action Research (CAR) is an action research conducted when a group of people (students) are identified with the problem, then the researcher plans ways to solve it. The problem formulated in this research is to improve student learning outcomes on the subject of SPLDV by using the Discovery Learning approach. In this study, one sample class was taken, namely class X TKJ 2 in 1 group consisting of 13 students in the 2021-2022 academic year. The research instrument used consisted of 2 cycles by conducting an initial test before the action (pre-cycle) and giving a final test after the action (post-cycle). The results of this study indicate that the discovery learning approach can improve student learning outcomes of Class X SMK-TI Garuda Nusantara majoring in Computer Network Engineering (TKJ) with an average score of 84.62 %.

Abstract

This study aims to dissect the students’ errors in solving math essay-test using Newman’s error category and analyze the students’ learning interest in the straight-line equation. The exploration carried out utilizes the constructivist approach as well as a form of descriptive exploration. The subjects of this exploration are the 8th-grade students of SMP in Kabupaten Bandung Barat in the academic year 2021/2022. The device in this exploration is in the form of 4 questions which are analyzed using Newman's proposition and non-tests in the form of a student learning the interest scale conforming to 18 questions. Grounded on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that scholars made (1) errors in reading the question; (2) errors in learning the problem; (3) errors when transubstantiation the problem; (4) errors when procedural skills; and (5) writing errors in the final answer. The affair of this study proves that students' interest in learning the material of straight-line equations is included in the strong classification.

Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which aims to improve student learning outcomes after using the discovery learning model. The subjects of this class action research were 22 students of class VII. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, documentation and also using test questions. The increase in student learning outcomes will be seen based on the value of students in working on individual questions that will be given before and after the delivery of the material. Based on the results of the study, it showed that a) In the initial conditions, the students' test results were 13.64% with an average score of 26.55. b) In the first cycle, student learning outcomes increased to 36.36% with an average value of 55.77 c) Student learning outcomes in the second cycle increased to 72.73% with an average score of 73.14 d) Most of the students' learning outcomes have met the KKM. From the results of this study it can be concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes using the discovery learning model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulties faced by Grade VIII junior high school students in straight line equations. The subjects of this study were 20 students in class VIII A at SMP Pasundan 2 Cimahi. The data used in this study is in the form of a test instrument, namely the form of 5 description questions using 5 indicators of achievement in straight line equation material. The results of this study obtained conclusions about the analysis of students' difficulties in solving math problems in straight line equation material based on indicators of competency achievement students have difficulty determining the formula used, determining the concept used in solving straight line equation problems so that students do not complete the answers properly and correctly. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the results of the analysis of students' difficulties in solving straight line equations material questions are still in the high category as seen from the low scores of students and the difficulties students face in solving straight line equations problems so that it is necessary to increase understanding of the concept of straight line equations material in learners.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of finding out the errors in the creative thinking ability of MTs students in solving Social Arithmetic problems due to the low level of mathematical creative thinking. This research was conducted by one class VII MTs students in one of the MTs in West Bandung Regency who had implemented the 2013 curriculum. The analytical creative thinking ability has indicators that include fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration. The data collection technique used is in the form of a 4-question test result in the form of a description of the social arithmetic material, then a description of the errors in each question number. The data analysis carried out is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The conclusion obtained from the results of this study is that the creative thinking ability of MTs class VII students in one of the MTs in West Bandung Regency has a fairly creative category and students' mistakes in solving social arithmetic problems are the lack of finding new ideas and using various methods or completion steps and mistakes. in understanding the problem due to a lack of deeper understanding of the material.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, learning is carried out online, this does not become an obstacle for learning mathematics, especially on the subject of social arithmetic which is closely related to daily activities. The purpose of this study is to analyze and explain students' mistakes when working on social arithmetic problems online. The research method uses descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques by distributing 5 items of description. The subjects in the study were seventh grade students of Dharma Kartini Middle School, Cimahi. The research stages include data reduction, data delivery and data inference. The results of this study show an error in indicator one determining the relationship between selling and buying prices and indicator two determining the relationship between profit and loss in the low category, indicators of the relationship between net, gross and tare and indicators solving problems related to social arithmetic in the medium category and indicators solving problems with respect to discounts in the high category. The underlying factors are the lack of accuracy of students in pronouncing the questions, lack of understanding of concepts and students still not understanding arithmetic operations.
