Abstract

This study aimed to determine the improvement in writing skills of science teaching materials for elementary school teachers students through the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. This study used a quasi-experimental method with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design using portfolio assessment sheets to write science teaching materials. Data were analyzed using a T-test. This study's subjects were pre-service teacher students who contracted Natural Science Learning courses in the Elementary Teacher Education Program. The study results indicated that PjBL could increase pre-service teachers' skills in developing teaching materials relevant to the 21st-century skills, students' character, and the applicable curriculum. This result is evidenced by the results of the assessment, which increased significantly from 2.04 to 3.25. It is also based on the Wilcoxon test that Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) 0.05 which is 0.000. It means that there is an influence in the form of an increase in the PjBL model's use of the writing skills of science teaching materials for elementary teacher students. This study recommends that the PjBL model can be used as an alternative learning model to improve the writing skills of teaching materials for students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by a change in the implementation of learning that is usually face-to-face in the classroom to learning through online due to the pandemic covid-19. Therefore this study was conducted aiming to analyze the effect of online-based project based learning learning model on the resilience of students during the pandemic Covid-19. The research method used was pre-experimental with the design of one group pretest-posttest. The research population was consisting of four classes with a total of 183 students. While the sample used was only 92 students. The instruments used in this study were questionnaire instruments in accordance with indicators of resilience which were then processed statistically to answer the problem formulation in this study. The results of this study are the online-based project-based learning model that has a positive influence on student resilience while studying in the covid pandemic 19.

Abstract

Short story writing skill (short stories) for elementary teacher education students at Cimahi City campus is one of the productive language skills that are said to be still very difficult, considering the skill to write requires multi skills  that involve cognitive skills, cognitive meta, experience, imagination, and the preparation of words and sentences accordingly. Hence, this digital era should be able to make students skilled in utilizing digital devices and products as a medium that helps facilitating them in honing their short story writing skills, one of which is through digital products in the form of short movies. The purpose of this research is to know and elaborate the elementary teacher education students’ skills to write short stories of through short movie making activities in creative writing. This study employs descriptive qualitative through triangulation of data obtained from observations, tests, questionnaires, and documentation. The results showed the students’ skills to write short stories through short movie making activities, it was obtained based on the indicators of short story writing that had been achieved, namely: the suitability of story content, story development creativity, presentation of the plot, characters, point of view, diction, plot, and writing spelling.

Abstract

This research aims at improving the narrative essay writing skills of elementary school teacher education students through Concentrated Language Encounter (CLE) learning activities assisted by short film learning media by employing a quasi-experimental nonequivalent group design. The subjects were all primary teacher education students in West Java, with a sample of 31 elementary school teacher education students in Cimahi City as the experimental class, and 31 Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teacher education students in Bandung City as the control class. The results of the post-test research showed that the average skill of writing narrative essays in the experimental class was 81.10, while the control class obtained an average of 66.32. While the test results of the average N-gain difference in writing narrative essay skills with 2-tailed sig were 0.000 with a significance level of less than 0.05. These findings revealed that there was an increase in the writing narrative essay skills of elementary school teacher education students through the application CLE Model assisted by short film learning media. This research is expected to facilitate lecturers/teachers to teach narrative essay writing skills by optimizing all language skills through the CLE model assisted by short film media.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dilatar belakangi oleh belum maksimalnya pemanfaatan aplikasi microsoft excel dalam menyusun bahan ajar. Oleh karena itu, tujuan pengabdian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru-guru kota Cimahi dalam memanfaatkan microsoft excel untuk menyusun bahan ajar serta mewujudkan ketersedian bahan ajar berbasis microsoft excel. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini terdiri dari tiga tahapan yaitu tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan mulai tangal 15 sampai 20 Februari 2021 secara daring dengan menggunakan metode pandampingan memanfaatkan aplikasi zoom meeting dan yotube kepada guru-guru SD di wilayah kota Cimahi yang berjumlah 87 guru.. Instrumen untuk mengukur keberhasilan pengabdian ini adalah memanfaatkan lembar observasi dan dokumentasi.  Hasil pengabdiannya yaitu adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru-guru dalam menyusun bahan ajar berbasis microsoft excel serta tersedianya bahan ajar berbasis microsoft excel yang dibuat langsung oleh guru-guru selama proses pengabdian. Temuan menarik yaitu karena belum terbiasanya memanfaatkan aplikasi microsoft excel dalam menyusun bahan ajar maka bahan ajar yang dihasilkan sebagian besar sama dengan bahan ajar yang dilatihkan selama proses pengabdian. Simpulan dari pengabdian ini adalah adanya kebermanfaatan bagi guru-guru dalam menyusun bahan ajar serta menjadi wahana bagi dosen-dosen dalam mengimplementasikan teori, pengetahuan, dan hasil-hasil penelitian sebagai wujud dari tri dharma perguruan tinggi.  The background of the community services is due to the not maximal use of the Microsoft Excel application in compiling teaching materials. Therefore, community services aim to improve the understanding and skills of Cimahi city teachers in utilizing Microsoft Excel to compile teaching materials and realizing the availability of teaching materials based on Microsoft Excel. The service implementation method consists of three stages, namely the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. This service is implemented boldly by using the mentoring method utilizing the zoom meeting and youtube application for elementary school teachers in the Cimahi city area who are the targets of this service activity. The instrument to measure the results of their dedication is an increase in the understanding and skills of teachers in compiling teaching materials based on Microsoft Excel and the availability of teaching materials based on Microsoft Excel that is made directly by teachers during the service process. The finding is interesting because it is not customary to use the Microsoft Excel application in compiling teaching materials, so the teaching materials produced are mostly the same as the teaching materials that improve during the service process. The community services conclude that there are benefits for teachers in compiling teaching materials and being a vehicle for lecturers to implement theory, knowledge, and research results as a form of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

Abstract

Berdasarkan pengamatan data awal di kelas 5 SD Negeri Cimahi Mandiri 4 mengenai keterampilan menulis surat undangan, beberapa masalah ditemukan, yaitu kurangnya keterampilan siswa dalam menulis surat undangan dengan perhatian pada ejaan dan pemilihan metode pembelajaran yang tidak tepat yang digunakan. Berdasarkan ini, desain penelitian menulis surat undangan disiapkan menggunakan metode ESTIGA. Metode ESTIGA adalah kombinasi dari model kooperatif tipe STAD, metode pengacakan dan tinggi kalimat. Pembelajaran terdiri dari pendekatan untuk presentasi mater, tim, perjuangan, menulis surat dan tinggi kalimat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas, dengan model spiral Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Prestasi belajar siswa dalam data awal hanya 4 orang (20%) ada perubahan pada siswa yang menyelesaikan 17 orang (85%). Berdasarkan uraian di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan metode ESTIGA dapat meningkatkan keterampilan siswa dalam belajar menulis surat undangan di kelas V SD Cimahi Mandiri 4, Kecamatan Cimahi Tengah, Kabupaten Cimahi.

Abstract

Dasar utama dalam memahami sebuah bacaan adalah mampu menentukan sebuah ide/gagasan pada sebuah paragraf. Bagi siswa sekolah dasar, menentukan gagasan utama atau ide pokok paragraf pada sebuah bacaan merupakan hal yang cukup sukar dilakukan, perlu upaya analisis agar siswa dapat menentukan gagasan utama pada sebuah paragraf. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengelaborasi secara eksplisit landasan teori sekaligus penerapan secara praktis metode Concentrated Language Encounter (CLE) terhadap kemampuan pemahaman membaca siswa dalam menentukan ide pokok paragraf bacaan. Analisis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Library Research dengan cara mengkomparasikan sekaligus mengkeritisi literatur hasil riset yang telah dilakukan dari tiga peneliti berbeda, sekaligus merelevansikannya dengan landasan teori reading comprehension (membac pemahaman). Hasil penelitian ini terelaborasinya kemampuan pemahaman membaca siswa dengan cara menentukan ide pokok paragraf melalui metode CLE yang meliputi: 1) Konsep membaca pemahaman; 2) karakter membaca pemahaman pada siswa SD kelas tinggi; 3) menentukan ide pokok paragraf sebagai parameter membaca pemahaman siswa; 4) sintak pembelajaran dngan metode CLE; 5) implikasi metode CLE terhadap pemahaman membaca siswa; 6) riset hasil implementasi metode CLE dalam pembelajaran bahasa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kekeliruan yang dialami siswa serta menelaah faktor-faktor penyebab kekeliruan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal pada materi menulis teks pantun. Metode  yang diaplikasikan pada penelitian ini yakni deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini bertempat di SDN 1 Cipatat kelas V Semester Ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2019/2020. Populasi penelitian ini merupakan seluruh siswa kelas V SD/MI sederajat di Kabupaten Bandung Barat yang sudah mempelajari materi menulis teks pantun. Subjek penelitian merupakan seluruh siswa kelas V di SDN 1 Cipatat. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan mengaplikasikan metode penelitian dan wawancara. Langkah-langkah analisis mencangkup reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam mengerakan soal menulis teks pantun terdapat kekeliruan diantaranya : (1) kekeliruan pemahaman diksi, (2) kekeliruan terhadap struktur teks (rima), dan (3) kurangnya imaji. Faktor penyebabnya adalah siswa kurang memahami kaidah struktrur pembuatan pantun dan  kurangnya imaji siswa dalam mencari kata-kata yang inovatif untuk membuat pantunnya menjadi lebih menarik.

Abstract

The background in this study is the low achievement and enthusiasm for mathematics in elementary school. The study uses classroom action research methods by comparing the improvement in student learning outcomes before and after the drill method was applied. The study was conducted at SDN Cibeber 1 in the area of South Cimahi District, Cimahi City. The results of this study are student learning outcomes increased to 52.2% after the drill method was applied. Thus, it can be said that mathematics learning outcomes can improve due to the application of the Drill method to the multiplication material of students in grade II elementary school.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah pembelajaran pemahaman matematika pada siswa kelas V dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri 259 Griba Kota Bandung dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 30 orang yang terdiri dari 13 orang siswa laki-laki dan 17 orang siswa perempuan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi guru dan siswa, soal tentang pecahan, serta angket guru dan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran setelah menggunakan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw. Hal tersebut ditunjukan dengan nilai rata-rata pemahaman matematika kelas sebesar 80,30 yang tergolong dalam kategori baik, nilai tertinggi siswa sebesar 100 dan nilai terendah sebesar 63. Ketuntasan belajar siswa menunjukan 96,7% siswa mendapatkan nilai diatas kriteria ketuntasan minimum dan 3,3% masih mendapat nilai dibawah nilai kriteria ketuntasan minimum
