Abstract

Research was conducted to develop learning media using Matlab GUI to enhance students' connection abilities. The aim was to create media containing valid, practical, and effective arithmetic and geometric sequences and series to support mathematical understanding. The study involved 10 randomly selected eleventh-grade students. Data was collected from validation results, tests, and student questionnaires. The research followed the ADDIE model in five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Media validation test results showed 86.5% validity, while student use scored 85.67% for practicality. Effectiveness testing revealed an average student score of 85.84%, demonstrating high effectiveness. These findings indicate that the Matlab GUI-based learning media successfully meet valid, effective, and practical criteria for enhancing students' mathematical connection abilities.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the application of differentiated instruction and its assessment in Vocational High Schools, focusing on teachers' understanding, challenges in implementation, the use of differentiated assessment, and its impact on student engagement and learning outcomes. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis. Findings indicate that teachers understand the fundamental principles of differentiated instruction and have attempted to apply them through various approaches, such as grouping students based on ability levels and adjusting materials. However, the main challenges faced include time constraints, limited resources, and a lack of training to effectively implement differentiation. Differentiated assessment has also been applied in the form of formative and project-based assessments, though teachers report difficulties in providing in-depth feedback within limited timeframes. Positive impacts from the application of differentiated instruction are seen in increased student interest and motivation, as well as improved learning outcomes. This study provides theoretical contributions by supporting the application of differentiated instruction principles within the vocational education context and offers suggestions to enhance teacher training and resource development for more effective differentiation. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for developing more inclusive and adaptive learning approaches in vocational school and other educational institutions.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemahaman konsep peserta didik mengalami peningkatan sebesar 20,41%, sedangkan ketuntasan klasikal meningkat sebesar 17,15%. Pembelajaran dengan model discovery learning yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dilaksanakan dengan langkah-langkah yaitu stimulation (memberi stimulus), problem statement (mengidentifikasi masalah), data collecting (mengumpulkan data), data processing (mengolah data), verification (memverifikasi), dan generalization (menyimpulkan).

Abstract

This study analyzed the effect of using Web Centric Course-assisted learning media on students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The effect was measured by the improvement of the test result. The study was conducted based on the fact that teachers and students need learning media using websites because it does not need application installation. The subjects of this study were 32 students of class VIII. This research is a Pre-Experimental Design with the form of One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The analysis technique used is the normality test, variance homogeneity test, t-test, and the N-Gain test. Based on the results of the t-test analysis on the pretest and posttest data of the experimental class, the Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05 which means there is a significant difference between before and after treatment. It can be concluded that the Web-Centric Course (X) assisted learning media significantly affects the understanding of mathematical concepts in class VIII students (Y).

Abstract

Background: Schools have yet to fully know and understand policies related to the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM). Problems that are very important to overcome are related to the socialization and preparation of the AKM in schools. MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang, through Focussed Group Discussion (FGD) with the UMM service team, said that schools needed socialization and assistance in preparing AKM by teachers. Method: The solution offered is to provide socialization and help until the AKM is compiled to be implemented in schools. The implementation of this activity begins with socialization by education evaluation experts, and then assistance in the preparation of the AKM is carried out. Next, the teacher listened to the presentation of the AKM material by the speakers invited by the team. The team at the school carried out the following mentoring activity with the teacher. This is done to measure the increase in teachers' understanding of AKM from the overall activities carried out. Result: From the service activities' results, the training and mentoring implementation went smoothly and well. Participants responded to the service activities with high enthusiasm. Conclusions: This is evidenced by 52% of service participants being satisfied with the provision of AKM training, 62% being delighted with the provision of assistance in the preparation of AKM, and 48% being pleased with the assignments and evaluations provided by the service team.

Abstract

This study aims to see students' computational thinking in solving social statistics questions and to find out why students experience their mistakes. This type of research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects used in this study were Governmental Science students taking the Social Statistics course. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation and tests. The instruments used in this study were the observation sheet and the test question sheet. The analysis is carried out by reducing the data first, then presenting the data, and ending by concluding the results of the computational thinking indicator. The results showed that all aspects of computational thinking have been carried out by students, starting from Decomposition, Pattern Recognition, Abstraction, and Algorithm design. Students get the highest percentage, namely algorithm design with 84% and the lowest on decomposition with 65.5%. The cause of errors, in general, is because students are not used to completing in a structured manner. Students are accustomed to solving problems by directly substituting values into the formula without first writing down what is known and looking for what is needed in the questions first.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to see how students' relational understanding affects their ability to solve proof problems in basic logic classes. Because this study will illustrate how students' relational knowledge in solving arithmetic problems, it is a qualitative research with a descriptive kind. Tests and interviews were used to gather data, which was then evaluated using research data reduction methodologies, which included presenting data in the form of descriptions based on features of relational knowledge, and finally concluding the findings. The findings revealed that students' relational understanding appeared to be carried out in solving proof problems, specifically in the interpretation aspect, then in the aspect of preparing questions and hypotheses, and finally in the aspect of generalization, all of which were visible when observations were made and were found in the responses of students. However, there are still flaws and inconsistencies in the signs of applying and performing reasoning.
