Abstract

This study aimed to analyse the difference in the mathematical thinking abilities of Informatics Engineering students based on gender in Calculus problem-solving. Mathematical thinking ability was measured based on four indicators of the mathematical thinking process, namely specialisation, generalising, conjecturing, and convincing. The instruments in this study were mathematical thinking tests and observation sheets. The test used in this study was composed of four questions by indicators of the mathematical thinking process.  The technique of data collection was the test, observation, and interview. Subjects of this study consisted of 35 male students and 22 female students. Data were analysed using the t-test. The results of the analysis showed that there is a significant difference in the mathematical thinking ability of male and female students. Mathematical thinking abilities of female students reached indicators of specialisation, generalising, and conjecturing. On the other hand,  mathematical thinking abilities of male students passed the elements of speciality and generalising.

Abstract

Abstract:The objectives of this research were to determine: (1) which students had the better mathematics learning achievement, instructed with TAI, GI, or direct instruction;  (2) which students had the better mathematics learning achievement, those with the converger, diverger, assimilator, or accommodator learning style; (3) in each learning style, which  students had better mathematics learning achievement, instructed with TAI, GI, or direct instruction; (4) in each learning model, which students had a better mathematics learning achievement, those with the converger, diverger, assimilator, or accommodator learning style. This study was  aquasi-experimental study with 3 x 4 factorial designs. Data analysis used unbalanced two-way ANAVA with a significance level of 5%. The study population was a tenth grade student of State SMA in Ponorogo in academic year of 2013/2014. Sampling was done by stratified cluster random sampling technique. The study sample consisted of students in 3 schools namely SMA Negeri 3 Ponorogo, SMA Negeri 1 Kauman, and SMA Negeri 1 Balong with a sample size of 275 students.. The results of the research are as follows. (1) The students instructed with TAI had learning achievement as good as GI, those with TAI had learning achievement better than those with direct instruction, while those GI had learning achievement as good as those with direct instruction. (2)The students with the converger learning style had learning achievement as good as those with the diverger learning style, the students with the converger learning style had learning achievement better than those with the assimilator and accommodator learning style, the students with the diverger, assimilator, and   accommodator learning style had a same learning achievement. (3) In each learning style, the students mathematics learning achievement was in consistency with the result (1); (4) In each learning model, the students mathematics learning achievement was in consistency with the result (2). Keywords: TAI, GI, Direct Instruction, learning styles, and learning achievement

Abstract

The covid-19 pandemic period like now requires to find an alternative learning that is effectively used. It drives a changing method of learning from face-to-face to online. One alternative in learning today is the use of smartphones or commonly referred to as mobile learning. This study aims to determine: 1) differences in student mathematics learning achievement with learning through mobile learning and google classroom, 2) interaction between learning through mobile learning and the ability to work together with students towards mathematics learning achievement, 3) differences in student mathematics learning achievement at the level of ability cooperate. The subjects of this study were students of the Mathematics Education Study Program STKIP Pamane Talino who took 68 Integral Calculus courses consisting of 2 classes. The research was conducted in 5 meetings. Each group was taught with the same material. The instruments in this study were test and questionnaire. The research method used was quasi experiment with 2x3 factorial design approach. The data analysis test used was the two-way ANAVA test with the analysis prerequisites in the form of a normality test and a homogeneity test. The results of data analysis show that the data are normally distributed and homogeneous. Thus, it can be concluded that: (1) learning with Mobile Learning media is more effective than learning with Google Classroom media, (2) the level of ability to work together high, medium and low gives different effects on student mathematics learning achievements and (3) students with all levels of ability to work with learning media Mobile Learning and Google Classroom provide equally good learning achievements.

Abstract

Doa harian merupakan salah satu kegiatan pembelajaran yang diberikan di Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPA) yang bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan ketaqwaan dan keimanan kepada Allah SWT. Metode pembelajaran yang selama ini berlangsung masih menggunakan metode ceramah dan hafalan sehingga anak-anak cenderung bosan dan kurang tertarik dalam belajar. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan metode pembelajaran doa harian yang menarik bagi anak. Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan game edukasi doa harian dengan menggunakan metode gamification. Metode gamification menggunakan elemen-elemen pada game seperti poin, level, leaderboard dan reward yang berguna untuk memotivasi anak dalam belajar. Hasil dalam penelitian ini berupa game edukasi doa harian berbasis android bernama Farihan yang mempunyai dua karakter animasi 2D dan 20 pertanyaan doa didalamnya (https://bit.ly/3yM3MCi). Pengujian game ini dilakukan dengan lima cara pengujian. Hasil pengujian tersebut menunjukkan pengguna sangat setuju dan mengapresiasi terhadap aplikasi yang dibangun. Oleh karenanya, dengan adanya aplikasi ini diharapkan para pengajar dan siswa/siswi TPA dimudahkan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran TPA terutama di masa pandemi. Harapan pada penelitian berikutnya dapat mengembangkan aplikasi ini berbasis iOS.

Abstract

The problems faced in the agricultural sector are very huge, from the availability of land, energy, seasonal changes, pest, to crop failure. The development of modern technology is expected to help overcome some of the problems that occur. In this study will integrate microcontroller technology in agriculture. The research method starts from the stage of making greenhouses starting with designing images of smart greenhouse models. Then the stage of making a greenhouse frame from wood, for the manufacture of plant shelf frames using iron, assembling electric power generating components, making automatic control systems on the greenhouse, making formulas on Arduino Uno, testing the temperature and humidity in the greenhouse, making the plant rack manipulator on the smart  greenhouse. The short-term goal of this control system is expected to help the performance of farmers  or greenhouse management officers in controlling the watering of the crops they plant in the greenhouse, so that one day the manager does not have to always go to the greenhouse when they want to water the plants or check soil moisture.The trial was carried out for 30 days with soil temperature and humidity parameters The result, when the air temperature in the greenhouse is more than 32 C, the fan will turn on. The fan causes hot air to come out. when the temperature reaches 25 C the fan will turn off. Then when the soil moisture value on the LCD shows 17.11%, the water pump will turn on. Water from the pump is flowed to the plant media to keep the soil moist. when the value of soil moisture exceeds 70.31%, the water pump will automatically turn off. From this result, the system can be applied in building integrated farming systems and smart greenhouses.

Abstract

AbstractModules are one form of teaching material that can help students learn independently. For students to receive materials well, it is necessary to create a learning atmosphere by the characteristics of students. Differentiated instruction approach is a learning approach by giving different instructions according to the features of  the learner. This research aims to test the effectiveness of learning methods with a differentiated instruction approach compared to differentiated instruction-based modules.  This research is a pseudo-experimental study with 92 students of the Informatics Engineering study program of Darussalam Gontor University. Modules are one form of teaching material that can help students learn independently. For students to receive materials well, it is necessary to create a learning atmosphere by the characteristics of students. This research began by giving treatment in learning as many as six meetings on Derivative materials The data analysis in this study uses One-way ANOVA. Before data analysis, the prerequisite of research is a test of  normality and  homogeneity. The results of the analysis prerequisites are obtained that the data is distributed normally and homogeneously. The results concluded that there were significant differences between students who were taught using differentiated instruction approaches, differentiated instruction-based modules, and direct methods.Keywords:Calculus, differentiated instruction, learning module.AbstrakModul  adalah  salah  satu bentuk bahan ajar yang dapat membantu mahasiswa belajar mandiri . Agar mahasiswa mampu menerima materi dengan baik perlu diciptakan suasana belajar yang sesuai dengan karakteristik mahasiswa.  Pendekatan differentiated instruction  merupakan pendekatan pembelajaran dengan memberikan instruksi yang berbeda sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas  metode pembelajaran dengan pendekatan differentiated instruction dibandingkan modul berbasis differentiated instruction.  Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi-experiment) dengan  subjek sebanyak 92 mahasiswa program studi Teknik Informatika Universitas Darussalam Gontor. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini diawali dengan memberikan perlakuan berupa pembelajaran sebanyak 6 pertemuan pada materi Turunan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah One-way ANOVA. Sebelum analisis data prasyarat analisis yang dilakukan adalah uji normalitas dan homogenitas. Hasil prasyarat analisis diperoleh bahwa  data  berdistribusi  normal dan  homogen. Hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar  mahasiswa yang diajar  menggunakan pendekatan differentiated instruction, modul berbasis differentiated instruction, dan metode langsung.Kata kunci: Kalkulus, differentiated instruction, modul pembelajaran

Abstract

Outlier detection is an important field of study because it is able to detect abnormal data distribution from a set of data. In the student graduation data, there are students with high semester GPA but do not graduate on time but students with low semester GPA can graduate on time. This study aims to detect outlier values ​​in student graduation data for the 2020-2021 class. Factors (attributes) used in this study are Student Academic Support Credit Scores (AKPAM) and Social Studies from semester one to semester six. The dataset used is 1204 graduates. The outlier detection method used is One-Class Support Vector Machine (SVM). One-class SVM is a derivative of SVM method that detects outliers based on data outside the specified class. The results of outlier detection using One-Class SVM method with three types of kernels produce the following reference values: kernel 'rbf' n by 91.4%, kernel 'linear' by 90% and kernel 'poly' by 90%. After normalization using MinMaxScaler the reference value increased by 2% in each kernel. The results of testing the One-Class SVM method get an average 90.3%, thus it can be concluded that the One-Class SVM method is feasible to be used as an outlier detection method.

Abstract

The government regulations regarding the implementation of vaccinations to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. The regulation was issued by the Minister of Health Number ten of 2021. This program raises pros and cons so that it requires feedback for evaluation. Feedback can be obtained from opinions and stories that users convey through social media such as Twitter. This study aims to develop a model to determine public sentiment towards Covid-19 vaccination in three topics, namely the vaccination program, the effect of vaccination and the Covid-19 vaccine. The classification method used in this research is Bernoulli Naïve Bayes and Logistic Regression. The results of the comparison of the two methods show that Bernoulli Naïve Bayes gets better accuracy results. The number of tweet messages processed from Twitter is 5877. The model was tested to read public sentiment on Twitter from 7 September to 21 September 2021. The model concluded that public opinion regarding the vaccination program and the effect of vaccination tended to be positive. And opinions regarding the Covid-19 vaccine topic tend to be neutral. For further research, it can be developed by adding datasets.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berfokus untuk meningkatkan produk handicraft di Ponpes Al- Amin. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra tentang handicraft dari jati belanda. Permaslaahan yang dialami mitra adalah terkait system, management, produksi maupun penentuan harga produk. Untuk mengatasi permasalahn mitra tersebut tim pengabdi melaksanakan pelatihan peningkatan produk handicraft pondok pesantren Al-Amin. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini meliputi perencanan, pelaksanaan, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Dengan diadakannya pelatihan diharapkan handicraft yang dihasilkan dapat menjadi produk unggulan pondok. Selain itu mitra dapat meningkatkan kualitas, kuantitas maupun produk. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat dilihat dari meningkatnya pengetahuan mitra terkait produk handicraft berbahan jati Belanda yang dapat dilihat dari peningkatan pre test dan post test sebesar 80 persen, sedangkan peningkatan keterampilan santri dapat diketahui dari hasil produk semakin bagus dan bervarasi.

Abstract

Pendirian TPS3R atau Tempat Pembuangan Sementara – Reuse, Reduce, Recycle – adalah sebuahsolusi inovatif untuk mengatasi permasalahan sampah, khususnya di kota Batu. Akan tetapi, pendiriannyabukan tanpa masalah. Sistem administrasi manual adalah salah satunya. Untuk itu, maka diusulkanperancangan situs Olah-Oleh TPS3R Batu menggunakan metode Design Thinking dengan penerapan 5elemen yang wajib dipenuhi pada pembangunan UX. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat Minimum ViableProduct (MVP) dari situs Olah-Oleh TPS3R Batu. Fitur yang dikembangkan berfokus pada fitur reservasipenyetoran sampah, showcase produk keluaran TPS3R Batu, berita terkait perkembangan TPS3R Batu danpenukaran poin digital. Pengujian sistem dilakukan dengan pertimbangan aspek learnability dan satisficationdengan pendekatan evaluasi System Usability Scale (SUS). Skor final yang didapatkan adalah 86, yang manatermasuk pada kategori B “Excellent” yang merepresentasikan kemudahan pengguna dalam penggunaansitus ini. Pengguna berhasil menyelesaikan skenario yang telah ditetapkan dan mencapai tujuannya dalampenggunaan situs Olah-Oleh TPS3R Batu.
