Abstract

Translation learning is one of the main focuses in language learning and teaching activities in the English class in the agribusiness study program at the University of Samudra so that consciously or unconsciously students have taken the action of translating between Indonesian and English. This study wants to see the ability of bilingual translation with respect to the word 'di atas' which is translated from Indonesian to English. The interlingual translation of the word 'di atas' results in several products of translating into English such as the preposition 'on', 'above' and 'over'. Starting from the same source language but after being translated into English, the three interlingual translation products have almost the same function and but not the same thing. This research method is a test method with a quantitative descriptive approach given through the Whatspp application because the Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing until this research is worked on. The research object was 32 students with a time limit given to answer the test is 15 minutes. With the dominance of the student's success in answering the test correctly and the success rate being above 50% or half of the total number of research objects, the student's ability to answer the test correctly to the interlingual translation problem in this study is good. Likewise, from the questionnaire data obtained as many as 59% of students who translate interlingually 'di atas’ into over, it can be concluded that students are good at understanding the function of the prepositions given in the test questions.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah Untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi membaca bahasa Aceh berbasis teks pada mata pelajaran muatan lokal bahasa Aceh di SD 10 Kota Langsa. Sampel  disesuaikan dengan keadaan new normal dimana siswa dipilih sebanyak 15 orang siswa yang mudah dijumpai dan diberikan izin oleh wali siswa untuk menjadi objek penelitian serta dilaksanakan dengan menjalankan protokol kesehatan. Selanjutnya Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penelitian langsung yaitu: Observasi, memberikan tes dan menganalisis data hasil tes untuk menentukan tingkat kemampuan literasi membaca bahasa Aceh

Abstract

This research aims to develop a feasibility test and practical application of biology learning media technology, especially in terms of taxonomy introduction via google lens. The experimental method was used to collect identification data regarding intersemiotic translation of ornamental plants. The stage to find out the quality of intersemiotic translation of the research object using a google lens in the form of the general method of photo analysis in the use of google lens using the keys of google lens results evaluation method by Shapovalov et al. (2020). The research object which was taken randomly via google lens will be analyzed for information regarding three to six detected results to examine information about the object based on genus and species. The result is google lens can identify ornamental plants well. Intersemiotic translation results have been obtained in the seven plants as research objects. Five research objects have a score of 3 and two research objects get a score of 2 based on the keys of google lens results evaluation. The identification of ornamental plants from the photo is Aglaonema plant, Tillandsia Usneoides, Sansevieria Trifasciata, Aechmea chantinii, Neoregelia fireball, Neoregelia marmorata, and Calathea Makoyana

Abstract

MPASI merupakan proses transisi dari pemberian susu Ibu menjadi makanan padat. Mitra adalah Ibu PKK Manyak Payed, Aceh Timur. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra sehingga kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan yaitu: Meningkatnya kebutuhan MPASI yang berupa tepung dari bahan organik yang berdaya guna dan memiliki nilai jual dari bahan-bahan yang mudah diperoleh. Belum ada pembinaan dan sosialisasi pemerintah dalam pembinaan kewirausahaan yang berkaitan dengan produksi tepung MPASI berbahan organik dari kacang hijau dan beras merah. Minimnya pengetahuan Ibu PKK Manyak Payed dalam pemanfaatan dan proses berwirausaha terhadap tepung MPASI organik berbahan dasar kacang hijau dan beras merah. Justifikasi solusi atas permasalahan mitra: Pelatihan pembuatan tepung MPASI alami dari kacang hijau dan beras merah organik kepada Ibu PKK Manyak Payed sebagai pemberdayaan kreatif untuk proses berwirausaha secara home industry. Metode pendekatan berupa persiapan, penjelasan, pelatihan dan evaluasi. Hasil adalah kemampuan Ibu PKK untuk memproduksi tepung MPASI serta produk tepung MPASI berbahan dasar beras merah dan kacang hijau organik siap jual. Regulasi produk dijual secara offline yang dititip pada warung dan dijual secara online dengan cara diiklankan pada media sosial sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan finansial pada mitra.

Abstract

Pemakaian bunga telang sebagai suplemen daya tahan tubuh saat ini sedang sangat digemari. Banyak manfaat yang dapat diperoleh dari pemanfaatan bunga telang dalam hal kesehatan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Dengan kemudahan pemerolehan bahan baku dan besarnya dampak pemanfaatan minuman yang berasal dari olahan bunga telang maka ibu-ibu PKK Gampong Sungai Pauh akan diberikan pelatihan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan skill dalam berwirausaha secara home indutry yang berdaya guna dan bernilai jual dalam hal memproduksi teh bunga telang sebagai suplemen makanan. Permasalahan prior yaitu: meningkatnya kebutuhan suplemen daya tahan tubuh herbal yang berdaya guna dan memiliki nilai jual dari bahan-bahan yang mudah diperoleh oleh ibu–ibu PKK di Gampong Sungai Pauh, belum ada pembinaan dan sosialisasi pemerintah dalam pembinaan kewirausahaan yang berkaitan dengan teh bunga telang kepada ibu–ibu PKK di Gampong Sungai Pauh, dan minimnya pengetahuan ibu–ibu PKK dalam pemanfaatan dan proses berwirausaha terhadap teh bunga telang sebagai suplemen daya tahan tubuh. Tujuan khusus pada justifikasi solusi atas permasalahan mitra adalah pelatihan pembuatan teh bunga telang sebagai suplemen daya tahan tubuh bagi ibu–ibu PKK Di Gampong Sungai Pauh dan peningkatan pemberdayaan ibu – ibu PKK dalam proses berwirausaha teh bunga telang. Metode pelaksanaan adalah survey lapangan, penentuan jadwal, persiapan, pelatihan, pelaksanaan, monotoring dan evaluasi. Target adalah ibu PKK Gampong Sungai Pauh. Hasil dari pengabdiab adalah pelatihan menjadi salah satu wirausaha yang diterapkan oleh ibu PKK skala home industry.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Member of PKK Bina Mufakat, Bayeun Village, Birem Bayeun District, East Aceh Regency have held community service activity by conducting training in making clothes softener and perfume products. The method of implementation consists of three stages, namely preparation, explanation / implementation and creation. The training participants were PKK women of Bina Mufakat consisting of 20 people. The results obtained from the preparation stage, namely the service activities stated that member of PKK  Bina Mufakat welcomed the service so that it determined the service activity schedule, the second stage of the service team's explanation explained the benefits of softener and perfume products used as business opportunities as additional household income while the third stage of manufacture was there very satisfying success in products made with the community service team with Member of PKK  Bina Mufakat. Keywords: Training, Softener, Fragrance, Clothing ABSTRAK Anggota PKK Bina Mufakat Desa Bayeun Kecamatan Birem Bayeun Kabupaten Aceh Timur telah melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan melakukan pelatihan membuat produk pelembut dan pewangi pakaian. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari tiga tahap yaitu persiapan, penjelasan/pelaksanaan dan pembuatan. Peserta pelatihan tersebut adalah angota PKK Bina Mufakat yang terdiri dari 20 orang. Hasil yang didapatkan dari tahap persiapan yaitu pada kegiatan pengabdian menyatakan bahwa angota PKK menyambut dengan baik sehingga menentukan jadwal kegiatan pengabdian, tahap kedua penjelasan tim pengabdian menjelaskan manfaat dari produk pelembut dan pewangi pakaian dijadikan peluang usaha sebagai pendapatan tambahan rumah tangga sedangkan tahap ketiga pembuatan yaitu terdapat keberhasilan sangat memuaskan pada produk yang dibuat bersama tim pengabdian dengan Ibu PKK Bina Mufakat.  Kata Kunci: Pelatihan, Pelembut, Pewangi, Pakaian

Abstract

The research deals with the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of EFL learners in learning English. This research used the qualitative design to find out the EFL learners’ motivation in learning English, specifically to their intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The participants consist of 40 senior high school students in Langsa. The questionnaire was the instrument used in collecting data. The questionnaire consists of 35 items, in which they are divided into two parts. The first part, numbers 1 until 20, is to collect the information about intrinsic motivation and inquires about interest, need, hobby and goal. Meanwhile, the second part, numbers 21 until 35, is to collect information about extrinsic motivation and inquires about teachers, parents, and the environment. The results showed that the component in the extrinsic motivation that gave the biggest impact to the students are the teachers; who are the student’s biggest influence in learning English. Meanwhile, the biggest component of intrinsic motivation is the students’ own learning goals. The paper further describes each of these factors in relation to their motivation. The implication of this study related to the teachers’ efforts and capability in motivating their students to learn English is also discussed.

Abstract

Translation of literacy in english, Indonesian and latin has a strategic position in the biological sciences that must be studied with good quality for students so that the development of science. The purpose of this study is to examine the quality of taxonomy translation in English, Indonesian and Latin with regard to biology education. This research is a quantitative-descriptive research. The test method is used to collect data on the ability to translate in biology education learning by using the google form media provided through the biology student WhatsApp group due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the form of 10 questions with a blend of English, Latin and Indonesian about taxonomy. There are 13 respondents who are ready to answer the test. The test is given for 1 credit which is about 45 minutes as the deadline. The data analysis technique in this study is descriptive quantitative which uses three lines of research activities, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification.The results obtained by respondents find it easier to translate test questions in short sentences. The quality of taxonomy translations related to English, Indonesian and Latin have good quality because from the first session, namely translation into the target language English, 4 of the total questions were obtained with the percentage of success by students in translating well above 50%. Likewise for the results of the translation with the target language Indonesian, the respondents managed to answer all questions well with a percentage above 50%. Here it can be seen that, translating into the target language Indonesian is still easier for respondents to produce because all questions are of high value than translating into the target language English.

Abstract

With the increasing interest and participation of students in debating activities at both the campus and national levels, debates are considered as an activity that provides broad benefits for the development of students' critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills. However, to compete effectively in the increasingly competitive debate competitions, students need a deep understanding of the debate system commonly used in competitions, such as the National University Debate Championship (NUDC).This community service article focuses on English debate training based on the British Parliamentary Debate System for students at English Language Education Study Program at Samudra University. This service program aims to prepare students to participate in regional and national debate competitions. The implementation of the training program includes a variety of effective methods, including theoretical lectures, debate simulations, group discussions, provision of reading materials, and evaluation of feedback. The results obtained from this program include improving students' English language skills, understanding of the British Parliamentary Debate System debate system, developing critical and analytical thinking skills, increasing self-confidence and communication skills, and readiness to take part in local and national debate competitions. The results of this community service not only benefit students, but also contribute to the development and reputation of English Education Study Program at Samudra University as a whole.

Abstract

Komunikasi dalam kaiatan perkembangan bahasa merupakan buah dari manifestasi pikiran dan perasaan anak untuk dapat menjabarkan informasi dengan makna dan maksud tertentu dari simbol atau tanda yang berkaitan dengan sebuah tata bahasa yang terstruktur kepada orang lain sehingga apabila ketersampaian informasi ini terjadi maka anak dianggap telah memiliki perbendaharaan bahasa yang cukup. Oleh karena itu, anak sekolah dasar akan diberikan tes untuk mengukur pemahaman mereka dalam hal penerjemahan intralingual pada benda-benda yang umum dijumpai agar didapatkan pengukuran pemahaman berbahasa anak usia dini di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini berupa penelitian deskriptif-kualitatif yang menguraikan penjelasan secara deskriptif berkaitan dengan data penelitian yakni berbentuk kata dengan pelaksanaan analisis metode padan intralingual dengan cara menghubung-bandingkan pengalihbahasaan dengan cara penjelasan ulang atau klarifikasi dari bahasa sumber ke bahasa target dalam kategori bahasa sama atau satu bahasa. Berdasarkan hasil jawaban siswa diatas terhadap pertanyaan dalam konteks kata berupa ayam, buku, kursi, meja dan Zebra menghasilkan jawaban benar secara mutlak bagi seluruh siswa yang menjadi objek penelitian serta jumlah jawaban salah adalah nihil secara keseluruhan. Siswa mampu menjelaskan atau mendefinisikan kata-kata tersebut sesuai dengan kebenaran yang berasal dari kamus secara terstruktur. Kemampuan penerjemahan intralingual dari seluruh siswa adalah baik karena pertanyaan yang diajukan sesuai dengan fase siswa sekolah dasar yang diambil dari kata sederhana yang berasal dari bahasa Indonesia sehingga mereka tidak kesusahan dalam menganalisis dan menyampaikan ulang penjelasan secara intralingual terhadap pertanyaan yang diajukan.
