Edutech or Educational Technology refers to the process of the study facilitated by technology. It allows teachers and students to use everyday devices such as smartphones, laptops, and tablets. The objectives of this study were to find out significant challenges that created the educational technological immersion for English language teaching and to identify the way junior high school English teachers of one public school in Pangkalpinang adapted to the Edutech 4.0. This study applied Qualitative Design in which the informants of this study were the principals, English teachers, and the students. The data were collected by using observation, interview, and questionnaire. Based on the result, it showed that the teachers could easily adapt to the Google Suites for Education and all of the teachers were comfortable in using Google Suites for Education as the Edutech, but they still found it difficult to interact with the students.

Sebagian orang tidak mengetahui bahwa sebenarnya bahasa dan seni budaya tidak dapat dipisahkan. Ketika seseorang mempelajari suatu bahasa, mereka juga harus mempelajari seni budaya bahasa tersebut agar dapat menguasainya. Namun sayangnya banyak orang yang tidakmenyadarinya sehingga mengalami kesulitan dalam proses penguasaan bahasa. Penelitian ini berfokus pada perbedaan seni budaya yang ada dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di SMA Unggul Islam Al-Fahd dan pengaruh dari perbedaan budaya tersebut. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor budaya yang mempengaruhi pembelajaran bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing dan pengaruhnya. Penelitian menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dan menggunakan wawancara untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor penyebab kesulitan responden dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Akibatnya, masalah terbesar yang dialami responden adalah rendahnya motivasi belajar, kesulitan dalam pengucapan, kurangnya penguasaan kosakata, kesulitan dalamterjemahan, dan kesalahan tata bahasa. Guru dapat mengatasi masalah permasalahan belajar menggunakan metode yang menarik dalam menyampaikan materi pembelajaran, seperti snowball throwing, diskusi, learning by teaching, dan role play.

Abstract— This study attempts to critically analyze the practices of foreign language teaching particularly English which commonly pay less attention to the accompanying intercultural communication and also to propose an alternative solution to support and promote the character education in this country. It is commonly believed that the practices of the English language teaching are always accompanied by the insertion of foreign cultural values which are not always in harmony with our own values. In line with the national education goals, it seems that the most possible way to overcome this problem is by integrating the Indonesian local cultural values in the practices of the English language teaching to promote character education, which is commonly believed to play important roles in encouraging, improving, and maintaining the spirit of nationalism of our future generation Keywords— local culture, teaching and learning, English, character education Abstrak— Kajian ini hendak mencoba menelaah secara kritis praktek-praktek pembelajaran bahasa asing khususnya Bahasa Inggris yang umumnya kurang memperhatikan aspek akulturasi budaya yang menyertainya dan juga mencari alternatif solusi pemecahannya demi mendukung tercapainya pendidikan yang berbasis character building di negara ini. Pada kenyataannya, praktek pengajaran bahasa Inggris senantiasa menyediakan ruang adanya insersi nilai-nilai budaya asing masyarakat penuturnya yang belum tentu sejalan dengan nilai-nilai budaya masyarakata kita. The Covid-19 Pandemic situation made the Government announce online learning activities. This policy and it was relationship with teacher strategy at interesting teaching to learn. So that, This research was focused on the strategy that the teacher and used in impelemanting learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Namely distance learning (PJJ), so that it could runned effectively, optimally, and run well. This research aimed to describe the strategy of teachers in teaching Speking during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subject was class VIIB English teacher, and grade VIIB students. Data collection techniques in this research were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research show that the teacher used an expository strategy that emphasized the teaching and learning process directed to achieve learning objectives. Analysis of online teacher learning methods with virtual media as a supporting means used two learning methods, first, the assignment method through the google classroom application, the results of the answer sheets were collected directly to the school, and then the second learning method was question and answer through Zoom Meeting and WhatsApp Group. The conclusion obtained from this research was that the teacher strategy in teaching speaking at Junior High School Prabumulih during the Covid-19 Pandemic could be seen from: teaching objectives, teaching approach, and teaching methods.

Arranged marriages in Asia involve the consent and approval of family members. However, marriages that condone elopement are shared among the Sasak people in Lombok. The elopement entails taking away the bride from her home without knowing her parents, close relatives, or other family members. As such, events that occur after discovering the elopement are the focus of this study. Post-elopement rituals are held to assuage both sides of the families, where the Pembayun (or adat leaders) are nominated to represent the families. The Pembayun were found to be bound by sociopragmatics in their use of politeness strategies. The analysis of sociopragmatics is based on the politeness theories of Brown and Levinson (1987). A qualitative approach that involved interviews and video recordings were used to collect data from participants and non-participant observation. The study revealed that sociopragmatics play a significant role in Pembayun’s choice of politeness strategies such as social distance, power distribution, rank, situational, and cultural parameters. These factors determine the weightiness of the act and become the basis for politeness strategies in the deliverances of specific acts during the post-elopement rituals.

Permintaan akan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris telah meningkat seiring dengan proliferasi bahasa Inggris secara global. Praktik bahasa Inggris tidak hanya terbatas pada tujuan internasional tetapi juga komunikasi lokal. Oleh karena itu, tren telah bergeser dari hanya menyalin gaya penutur asli ke komunikasi yang berhasil dengan menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Dihadapkan dengan kebijakan yang terus berubah dan tuntutan praktis, guru bahasa Inggris sebagai Bahasa Asing (EFL) di Indonesia harus melakukan pengaturan prioritas yang sangat unik untuk mengembangkan strategi bertahan hidup yang tidak mungkin diperlukan oleh rekan-rekan mereka yang bekerja di luar negeri. Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk membahas pengalaman guru EFL dalam mengajar bahasa Inggris di sekolah-sekolah Indonesia di era reformasi dan untuk menunjukkan analisis pengalaman pemebelajaran berdasarkan konteks situasi untuk menemukan inti peran guru dalam konteks yang berubah.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan dari media pembelajaran box cuaca yang dikembangkan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Research and Development (RnD) dengan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III SD Negeri 90 Palembang. Validasi yang dikembangkan dilakukan oleh ahli media dan materi. Data pada penelitian ini diperoleh dari angket validasi, angket respon peserta didik, serta tes yang berupa latihan soal. Hasil validasi dari ketiga validator menilai kualitas media pembelajaran box cuaca secara keseluruhan memperoleh skor sebesar 85,6% dengan kategori sangat valid, pada uji coba one to one memperoleh rata-rata 85,3% dan uji coba small group memperoleh rata-rata 90,2% dengan kategori sangat praktis, hasil tes latihan soal pada uji coba kelompok besar keseluruhan siswa memperoleh rata-rata 72,73 dengan kategori baik. Berdasarkan hasil data yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran box cuaca telah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, efektif.

Praktik Lapangan atau dikenal sebagai kegiatan Magang merupakan salah satu program dari Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) yang dicanangkan oleh Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia. Kegiatan ini bertujuan mendorong mahasiswa untuk menguasai berbagai keilmuan sebagai bekal memasuki dunia kerja. Dalam kegiatan magang ini juga mahasiswa mendapatkan kesempatan untuk dibimbing langsung oleh mentor dan pembimbing lapangan yang sudah ahli di bidangnya. Kegiatan magang yang dilaksanakan mahasiswa PGRI Palembang bertempat di PT. Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk. yang berlokasi di JL. Abikusni Cokrosuyoso, Kertapati Palembang. Adanya perbedaan rumpun ilmu mahasiswa dengan tempat magang adalah hal yang melatarbelakangi kegiatan ini berlangsung. Ketidakrelevanan ini menjadi tantangan yang harus dihadapi mahasiswa agar mahasiswa mendapatkan hardskill dan softskill yang berbeda dari rumpun ilmu di bangku kuliah. Sehingga nantinya akan menghasilkan keterampilan teknis dan nonteknis yang bisa dilihat setelah mahasiswa melakukan magang. Kegiatan magang dilaksanakan oleh 1 mahasiswa PGRI Palembang mulai tanggal 9 Oktober 2023 – 22 Desember 2023. Metode peraktik kerja yang dilaksankan oleh mahasiswa yakni Partisipasi Aktif, Observasi dan Wawancara Spontan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan magang ini mahasiswa memiliki pengetahuan tentang bagaimana pengelolaan suatu sistem informasi yang digunakan di PT. Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk. dalam hal penarikan absensi, data cuti, lemburan, callout, dll dengan dua aplikasi yaitu Easy Access dan SAP HCM. Selain hardskill tersebut, mahasiswa juga memperoleh softskill seperti disiplin waktu dalam bekerja, bertanggungjawab terhadap tugas yang diberikan, cara penyelesaian suatu masalah dan cara untuk menganalisa data.

Abstract: The problem of this study was â€œis there any significant difference on studentsâ€™ reading achievement in learning narrative text to the tenth grade students of state vocational high school 1 Palembang who are taught through smart technique and those who are not?â€. The main objective of this study was to find out whether or not there is any significant difference on studentsâ€™ reading achievement in learning narrative texts to the tenth grade students of state vocational high school 1 Palembang who are taught through smart technique and those who are not. This study applied a Quasi Experimental Designs. The population was the Tenth grade students at State Vocational High School Palembang with the total number of the 389 students. The sample was 60 students. They were 30 students from X AKL 1 as control group and X AKL 2 as experimental group taken by using Purposive Random Sampling. The data were collecting by using a written test with multiple choice questions and analyzed by using Independent t-test. The result of the study showed that the studentsâ€™ average score in control group in pre-test was 35.07 and in post-test was 47.04 and in experimental group in pre-test was 55.54 and in post-test was 84.54. The value of t-obtained 4.951 was higher than the value t-table 1.669, at the significant level 0.05 in two - tailed with df=64, It is found that there was significant difference on the tenth grade studentsâ€™ reading achievement between those who are taught through Smart Technique and those who are not of State Vocational High School 1 Palembang.Keywords: Teaching, Reading, Narrative Text, and Smart Technique.
