Abstract

The teacher's role as a facilitator is to utilize learning media which plays an essential role in facilitating students in learning. This study aims to (1) describe the necessity of Javanese language learning media in the 9th grade of Junior High School of Muhammadiyah 3 Ngadirejo, (2) to describe the web-based prototype of aksara Jawa Dhek Bung (bedhek tembung) learning media. The methods used were research and development with data collection techniques in the form of observation, questionnaires, and unstructured interviews. The questionnaires of students' and teachers' needs, as the instrument used in this study, revealed that 70,7% of students chose aksara Jawa material as the most challenging material in Javanese subject. The techniques used during data analysis are quantitative and qualitative, leading to the findings that students and teachers require innovation for learning media, such as web-based media, to create an enjoyable learning atmosphere. Therefore, Dhek Bung learning media is developed as an engaging alternative learning media for students to learn Javanese. Keywords: Learning media, aksara Jawa, Dhek Bung media.   Abstrak Peran guru sebagai fasilitator yaitu menyediakan fasilitas berupa media pembelajaran yang berperan penting untuk memudahkan siswa dalam belajar. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan (1) mendeskripsikan kebutuhan media pembelajaran Bahasa Jawa di SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Ngadirejo kelas IX, (2) mendeskripsikan prototipe media pembelajaran aksara Jawa Dhek Bung (bedhek tembung) berbasis website. Metode yang digunakan yaitu research and development dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, kuesioner, dan wawancara tidak terstruktur. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner kebutuhan siswa dan guru yang kemudian diperoleh sebuah data bahwa 70,7% siswa memilih materi aksara Jawa sebagai materi tersulit dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Jawa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan temuan fakta bahwa siswa dan guru membutuhkan inovasi media pembelajaran seperti media berbasis website agar suasana belajar lebih menyenangkan. Media pembelajaran Dhek Bung dikembangkan berdasar pada hasil analisis tersebut, sehingga dapat menjadi alternatif media pembelajaran Bahasa Jawa yang menarik minat siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ajaran tasawuf dalam naskah suluk Daka dan relevansinya dalam pendidikan Islam. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah model penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang didahului dengan kajian filologi, karena objek pada penelitian ini berupa manuskrip atau naskah kuno. Data pada penelitian ini yakni berupa frasa, kata dan kalimat,  sedangkan sumber data berupa naskah yang berjudul suluk Daka dengan kode BR 61 koleksi Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan hermeneutika untuk menganalisis isi teks. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ajaran tasawuf yang terdapat dalam naskah suluk Daka meliputi tauhid, salat tunggal, niat, dan tahap manunggaling kawula gusti yakni syareat, tarekat, hakikat, dan makrifat. Relevansi ajaran tasawuf dalam suluk Daka bagi pendidikan Islam yakni memberikan pemahaman mengenai  tauhid, niat, salat sejati, serta ajaran syariat, tarekat, hakikat serta makrifat untuk menjadi manusia sejati dalam mendekatkan diri hingga bersatu kepada Tuhan.

Abstract

This study investigates the incorporation of the Pancasila learner profile in the Mardika Basa lan Sastra Jawa textbook for grade VII SMP/MTs and its alignment with Javanese cultural character values. The Pancasila learner profile aims to cultivate students' values and character based on Indonesia's foundational philosophy. Understanding how textbooks reflect these values, particularly within the context of Javanese culture, is important for character education. A descriptive qualitative approach was used to analyze the textbook. Data were collected through data cards, questionnaires, and interviews with teachers. The analysis followed the Miles and Huberman technique, and data validity was ensured through triangulation. The findings indicate that the Mardika Basa lan Sastra Jawa textbook for grade VII, following the Merdeka Curriculum, integrates the Pancasila learner profile in each chapter. This is reflected in the value content, lesson preparation, and learning activities. The Javanese cultural character values corresponding to the Pancasila student profile include andhap asor (humility), babar binuka (openness), tepa salira (tolerance), laku hambeging kartika (noble conduct), wicaksana (wisdom), and niteni, nirokke, nambahi (observe, imitate, add). The study highlights that Javanese cultural values align well with the Pancasila learner profile, contributing positively to character development. These values not only strengthen the national identity but also foster ethical and responsible behavior among students. This research provides valuable insight into how Javanese cultural values can reinforce the Pancasila learner profile in education, supporting national character-building efforts.

Abstract

The proficiency of seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Semarang in writing and reciting Javanese dialogue remains relatively low, highlighting the need for effective learning media. Mastery of this skill is a fundamental objective of Javanese language education, aimed at fostering good manners among students. This study seeks to 1) assess the needs of both teachers and students for the development of karthon-based learning media, and 2) design and validate a prototype of such media tailored for teaching Javanese dialogue to seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Semarang. The research employed the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) as conceptualized by Reiser and Mollenda. Data collection methods included interviews and questionnaires, while both qualitative and quantitative techniques were utilized for data analysis. The study involved 288 seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Semarang during the 2021/2022 academic year, with a randomly selected sample of 37 students. The research revealed a substantial demand for card-based learning media among the students. The developed prototype, featuring writing and reading cards, underwent expert review and field testing, demonstrating high suitability for classroom implementation. The findings of this study offer a valuable solution for teachers aiming to enhance Javanese dialogue skills in seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Semarang, integrating the 4C skills—critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity—into the learning process.

Abstract

This research is motivated by students' difficulties in writing Javanese script. The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of using a game-based learning model using a snakes and ladders media on students' learning outcomes in writing Javanese script in fifth grade. The type of research used is quantitative research with an experimental method. The research design uses a quasi-experimental design with the type of research being one group pretest-posttest design. The population and sample in this research were fifth grade students totaling 27 students. The sampling technique in this research uses purposive sampling technique, where samples are taken with certain criteria. Data collection methods in this research were observation, tests, and documentation. Based on the research results, a paired sample t- test was obtained at 0.000 and an N-Gain test at 0.5321. The results of the data analysis indicate that the game-based learning model mediated by snakes and ladders is effective enough to improve students' learning outcomes in writing Javanese script. Thus, it is expected that the game-based learning model using snakes and ladders media can have a positive impact on improving learning outcomes in writing Javanese script.

Abstract

Abstrak Pembelajaran bahasa Jawa berlangsung sudah cukup lama, tetapi dalam pelaksanaan masih mendapat kritik dari berbagai pihak, misalnya penyajian mata pelajaran bahasa Jawa di sekolah masih banyak yang menggunakan pendekatan konvensional, model pembelajaran yang digunakan belum inovatif serta pembelajaran terasa monoton dan kurang menarik. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka tim pengabdi mencoba memberikan suatu pemikiran tentang alernatif baru yaitu pelatihan model pembelajaran bahasa Jawa berbasis joyful learning. Tujuan program ini adalah meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam hal model-model pembelajaran bahasa Jawa yang menyenangkan . Guna mencapai tujuan tersebut maka digunakan berbagai macam metode, diantaranya adalah ceramah, demonstrasi, tanya jawab, praktik langsung dan penugasan. Di akhir program dilakukan penilaian untuk melihat tingkat keberhasilan program. Hasil posttest menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pemahaman konsep joyful learning sebesar 36%, dari rata-rata nilai pretest 52 menjadi 88. Peningkatan sebesar 36% tersebut tergolong cukup tinggi. Dalam program pengabdian kepada masyarakat tersebut juga dipaparkan beberapa cara yang dapat digunakan agar pembelajaran bahasa Jawa menjadi pembelajaran yang menyenangkan, diantaranya dengan (1) menggunakan humor, (2) menggunakan permainan, (3) menggunakan lagu, (4) menggunakan media sosial, (5) menggunakan outdoor learning atau pembelajaran di luar kelas dan (6) menggunakan ice breaking. Kata Kunci: pembelajaran bahasa Jawa, menyenangkan, joyful learning.

Abstract

Literature has close relationship with the environment. Literature also has an important role in the preservation of environment. Research with this qualitative approach aims to explain the representation of ecological wisdom in the wangsalan as an effort to strengthen character education with conservation-minded. Data of words, phrases, clauses and sentences are analyzed using inter-textual and functional pragmatic methods. The results of this study are: (1) The ecological elements contained in the wangsalan can be divided into five categories, are flora (for example, roning mlinjo:so; janur kuning:pupus; kembang tebu:gleges), fauna (example, wader bungkuk:urang; kapi jarwa:kethek; ayam wana:bekisar), nature (for example, udan riris:grimis; sedhang arga:tlaga, teja bengkok:kluwung), geography/area (example, kutha Gudheg:Yogyakarta; kulone Banjar Patoman:Tasik; peken alit:wande), and cultural outcomes (example, jangan gori:gudheg; gayung sumur:timba; nyaron bumbung:angklung); (2) Every lexicon in wangalan has a philosophy that consist character education, such as love of peace or tends to avoid conflict with others and the environment, not impose, kindness, politeness, patience, and respect for others. From the results of the research is known that wangsalan contains ecological wisdom that needs to be preserved. In addition, this ecological study in the wangsalan can be used as an alternative source to strengthen character education with conservation-minded.Keywords: wangsalan; ecological wisdom; character education; conservation mindedSastra memiliki keterkaitan erat dengan lingkungan. Sastra juga memiliki peran penting akan kelestarian lingkungan. Penelitian dengan pendekatan kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan wujud kearifan ekologi dalam wangsalan sebagai representasi suatu pendidikan karakter. Data yang berwujud kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat dianalisis menggunakan metode intertekstualitas dan pragmatik fungsional. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) unsurunsur ekologi yang terdapat dalam wangsalan dapat terbagi menjadi lima kategori, yaitu flora (misalnya, roning mlinjo:so; janur kuning:pupus; kembang tebu:gleges), fauna (misalnya, wader bungkuk:urang; kapi jarwa:kethek; ayam wana:bekisar), alam (misalnya, udan riris:grimis; sedhang arga:tlaga, teja bengkok:kluwung), letak geografi/daerah (misalnya, kutha Gudheg:Yogyakarta; kulone Banjar Patoman:Tasik; peken alit:wande), serta hasil budaya (misalnya jangan gori:gudheg; gayung sumur:timba; nyaron bumbung:angklung); (2) setiap leksikon pembentuk wangsalan memiliki filosofi pendidikan karakter, seperti cintadamai/cenderung menghindari konflik dengan lingkungan, tidak memaksakan diri, sifat ramah, santun, sabar, serta menghargai orang lain. Dari hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa wangsalan mengandung kearifan ekologi yang perlu untuk terus dilestarikan. Selain itu, kajian ekologi dalam wangsalan ini dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif sarana pendidikan karakter.Kata kunci: wangsalan; kearifan ekologi; pendidikan karakter; wawasan konservasi

Abstract

This study aims to develop BISAWA (Bingo Aksara Jawa) learning media assisted by Pop Up Book for teaching Javanese script reading to upper grade students. The research method used is Research and Development proposed by Sugiyono through four stages, namely potential problems, data collection, product design, and design validation. Data collection was obtained through interviews and questionnaires, then analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative approaches. Product validation was carried out by material validators to assess learning content and media validators to assess media quality. Based on the results of the material validation test getting a score of 81.3% and the media validation test getting a score of 91.1%, both validators stated that this product is "very feasible" to be used for learning media to read Javanese Script. BISAWA (Bingo Aksara Jawa) media assisted by Pop Up Book is expected to support the learning process of Javanese language, provide a good stimulus for students, improve students' ability to read Javanese script, and assist teachers in delivering varied Javanese script materials. Thus, this media can be utilized to improve the reading skills of elementary school students' Javanese script material.

Abstract

Speaking skills in Javanese language learning are often challenging because they require mastery of vocabulary, grammar, and self-confidence. This research aims to determine how effective the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) method using role-playing card media is in improving speaking skills on pacelathon text material. Pretest-posttest control group modeling was used in this quasi-experimental design. There were 68 VIII grade kids in the sample, 34 of whom were in the experimental and control groups. While the control group employed conventionally based methods like lectures and Q&A sessions, the experimental group employed TPS media and techniques. The independent samples t-test and n-gain test were used to evaluate the data. The findings revealed a noteworthy distinction between the two groups (P-value=0.000). The N-Gain obtained by the experimental group was 65.14% (moderately effective), while that of the control group was only 21.84% (ineffective). Thus, the TPS method supported by role-playing card media is effective in improving students' oral proficiency in Javanese. This strategy is recommended to be applied to other learning materials to increase student participation and learning outcomes.
