Abstract

The makeup trend using secondary colors is increasingly popular among beauty lovers, offering interesting and creative variations to create a standout look. The bold makeup technique aims to be a bold, striking, and eye-catching look, especially for special occasions such as parties. The purpose of this study is first, to determine the difference in party makeup results using secondary colors (X1 (orange-orange-orange), X2 (purple-purple-purple), X3 (green-orange-purple)) with the bold makeup technique. Second, to determine the highest and lowest values ​​between X1 (orange-orange-orange), X2 (purple-purple-purple), X3 (green-orange-purple) with the bold makeup technique. This research method uses a true experiment. The use of bold makeup techniques with secondary colors is the independent variable in this study, while the results of party makeup are the dependent variable. Data analysis techniques used the average value and one-way ANOVA on SPSS 26. The results of the first study, the difference in party makeup results using the average value with X1 (orange-orange-orange) getting a value of 3.26, X2 (purple-purple-purple) getting a value of 3.21 and X3 (green-orange-purple) getting a value of 2.94. The results of the second study, the highest value was obtained by X1 (orange-orange-orange) based on several aspects of the assessment, namely the suitability of the makeup color with the model's skin tone, makeup harmony, neatness of the makeup, and durability of the makeup results. Conversely, the lowest value was achieved by X3 (green-orange-purple), with almost all aspects of the assessment lower than X1 (orange-orange-orange) and X2 (purple-purple-purple). Based on the results of the One Way ANOVA analysis, there was a significant difference between the groups being compared (F(2, 87) = 4.510, p = 0.014). The Sum of Squares value between groups is 63.489 with degrees of freedom (df) 2, while the Sum of Squares value within groups is 612.300 with degrees of freedom 87. The total Sum of Squares is 675.789 with a mean square between groups of 31.744 and within groups of 7.038. Keywords: secondary colors, bold makeup techniques, party makeup results

Abstract

The aim of this research is to compare the results of nail art gradations using airbrush and nail polish. This research uses an experimental approach with quantitative methods to test variables. The independent variables in this research are the airbrush technique and nail polish technique. The targets in this research were 5 lecturers and 25 students. The data collection technique used observation while data analysis used statistical analysis of the t-test with SPSS version 29. The results of the study showed that the level of significance was above 0.05, which means that there was no significant difference in the five aspects tested. The texture aspect produced a value of 0.262, the color gradation aspect obtained a value of 0.096, the design suitability aspect obtained a value of 0.050, the neatness aspect obtained a value of 0.118, and the flatness aspect obtained a value of 0.379. So statistically, there is no significant difference between using the airbrush and nail polish techniques. The conclusion of this study is that both using the airbrush and nail polish techniques have their own advantages and disadvantages that can affect the work process and the final result. The airbrush and nail polish techniques do not show significant differences, so both have equivalent quality and can be used according to needs.

Abstract

Indonesia Inggris 1.450 / 5.000 The development of technology encourages the development of flexible digital learning media, one of which is the use of flipbooks which are increasingly used. This study aims to determine the feasibility of the media, interest in learning using the media and learning outcomes after using the media. This research approach uses R&D (Research and Development) Borg and Gall with reference to 8 stages, namely: 1) Potential and problems; 2) Data collection; 3) Product design; 4) Design validation; 5) Design revision; 6) Product trial; 7) Product revision; 8) Usage trial. This study was conducted with a small group trial of 15 students of class XI TKKR 2 and 30 students of class X TKKR 1 in media on a class scale. The results of the media feasibility evaluation showed that the average final score reached 4.46, which indicated that the learning media was classified as effective and feasible to use in the teaching and learning process. The learning interest of the participants is categorized as very good with a percentage of 97% and the average learning outcomes of students after using interactive learning media based on flipbooks on learning outcomes of hair anatomy and physiology obtained significant results of 0.000 <0.05, thus, the average achievement of student learning outcomes, namely 84.6, experienced a significant increase, exceeding the figure of 75 according to the school KKTP standard after the implementation of interactive learning media based on flipbooks.

Abstract

Abstract Effective educational tools are crucial in enhancing students' comprehension, abilities, and academic results. One creative option is interactive flipbooks, which deliver content in a more visual and engaging manner. The objective of this research is to evaluate the viability of flipbook media, assess its impact on educational outcomes, and explore student feedback regarding its application. The study adopted a quantitative methodology, involving 26 students from grade XII as participants. It followed an eight-step process, which included (1) identifying potential issues, (2) gathering data, (3) creating a design, (4) validating it, (5) revising the design, (6) conducting trials, (7) refining the product, and (8) testing the implementation. The research framework utilized a One-Group Pretest-Posttest model to assess shifts in learning results. Data collection methods, including observations, learning outcome evaluations, and surveys, were analyzed through averages and t-tests. Findings indicated that the flipbook media achieved a high feasibility rating, with a score of 4.41, categorized as "good." The analysis of improvements in learning outcomes displayed significant changes, showing that the average pre-test score of 53.92 rose to 86.08 in the post-test. Additionally, the practical assessment yielded impressive results, with an average score of 89 and a 100% completion rate. Students provided overwhelmingly positive feedback on this medium, reflected in an average score of 4.55, categorized as "very good." From these results, interactive flipbooks are deemed effective and practical for enhancing students' understanding and skills related to hair cutting techniques using the uniform layer method. Abstract

Effective learning models have an important role in supporting the success of the learning process, so that it can improve student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) The syntax implementation of the quantum teaching learning model; 2) Student activiity; 3) Learning outcomes; and 4) Student responses. The research method used was quantitative, with a pre-experimental approach using one group pre-test and post-test design. The subjects of this study were 30 class X TKKR students. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Data collectiion technique consisted 1) Observation, 2) Test; 3) Questionnaire. The data analysis technique for syntax implementation, student activity, affective learning outcomes, psychomotor and student responses used the average, while the analysis of cognitive learning outcomes improvement used the Wilcoxon signed ranks test assisted by SPSS version 22. The results showed: 1) Analysis of syntax implementation was 100%; 2) Analysis of activiity obtained an average 3.76; 3) Analysis of cognitive learning outcomes obtained an average pre-test score of 65.1 and a post-test score of 85.8, the results of the hypothesis test obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05, it was concluded that there was a significant difference in cognitive learning outcomes between before and after the quantum teaching learning model was implemented. Affective learning outcomes obtained an average of 3.70, psychomotor learning outcomes obtained an average of 3.74 which means that affective and psychomotor learning outcomes are very good; and 4) studentt responses obtained an average of 4.59 which means very good. So it can be concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes between before and after the implementation of the quantum teaching learning model with a very good response. Abstract

Video tutorials are one form of learning media that can provide a more interesting learning experience and help improve student understanding. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of learning media, measure student learning outcomes, and identify student responses to the use of the media. The type of research used is R&D (Research and Development) the development model used is 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Dissemination). The data collection methods used are observation, psychomotor learning outcome tests, and questionnaires. The data collection instruments used are media feasibility observation sheets, learning outcome test questions, and student response questionnaire sheets. The objects and subjects of this study were film make-up and 36 class XI TKKR 2 SMKN 1 Pogalan students. Data were analyzed using the calculation of average values. The results of the study showed that: (1) Assessment of media feasibility from the aspects of media, materials, and language produced an average score of 4.77 which is included in the "very feasible" category; (2) Students' psychomotor scores reached an average of 86, which exceeded the KKTP of 80, so that it was declared complete overall; (3) Student responses to learning media showed an average score of 4.84 with the category "very appropriate". From these findings, it can be concluded that video tutorial media is very effective for use in the learning process. Abstract

This research aims to describe the design concept, creation process, and evaluation results of the "Taajmiratmaa" crown as a visual representation of Kuwait's natural wealth and culture. The crown's design concept is inspired by the Arfaj flower, Kuwait's national flora symbolizing desert resilience and beauty, and Failaka Beach with its clear blue sea, representing peace and purity. Dominant colors of sea blue, white, and silver were chosen to reflect spirituality and elegance. The crown's form integrates Arfaj floral motifs with Islamic geometric elements, creating a graceful, feminine, yet strong impression. The primary material used is eva foam due to its lightweight and flexible properties, adorned with imitation Swarovski crystals in blue and white for a luxurious feel, resembling the sparkle of boron diamonds. The creation process began with developing a mood board and two alternative designs. Based on initial evaluations by three expert informants, Design 2 was selected for its superior aesthetics, proportion, and symbolism. The realization phase involved measuring the model's head, pattern making, material planning, main and detailed pattern drawing, Swarovski application in Arfaj flower motifs, bonsai wire foundation installation, and finishing with glitter application. The final evaluation of the realized crown was conducted by 30 respondents (makeup artistry students) using a Likert scale. The results showed an overall average score of 45 out of 50 points, with most respondents giving scores between 42-50 points. The most prominent aspects receiving high ratings were cultural theme suitability, color combination, and overall visual aesthetics. This indicates that the "Taajmiratmaa" crown successfully integrates Kuwaiti cultural elements with modern design, receiving high appreciation in both artistic and technical aspects. Abstract

Video tutorial media can improve understanding, motivation, participation, and is flexible. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of applying video tutorial learning media for daily makeup based on sign language for deaf students. The research approach used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Data collection methods include observation, learning outcome tests, and questionnaires. The research subjects were 8 deaf students in grades X, XI, and XII at SMALB-B Karya Mulia Surabaya who chose beauty as their focus, The data obtained were analyzed descriptively quantitatively to determine the feasibility of the media and its effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. The results showed that based on the Validator's assessment, the media scored 4.6 with very feasible criteria. The achievement of student learning outcomes was 88%, indicating that the learning objectives were met, achieving mastery of deaf students' abilities in performing daily makeup. The average student response score was 4.54, which shows very feasible criteria. Therefore, the application of video tutorial learning media using sign language can be an effective alternative learning method for deaf students." Abstract

Updo hairstyling requires both theoretical understanding and practical skills, which are not easily mastered by students through verbal explanations alone. Therefore, a learning medium that can visually present the material and allow students to review it repeatedly is needed. The aim of this research is to enhance the academic achievements attained by the learners to their fullest potential on the topic of Penataan Sanggul Pusung Tagel by utilizing video media as a learning aid. This research applies a quantitative approach and uses a pre-experimental method with a one-group praujian-pascaujian design. The development of the instructional video was Grounded in the ADDIE framework, this process encompasses five sequential phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Execution, and Assessment. The research subjects were 30 eleventh-grade students of the Skin and Hair Beauty Department at SMK Labschool Unesa 1 Surabaya. The instruments used in this study included a media validation sheet, learning outcome tests for both cognitive and psychomotor domains, and a student response questionnaire. The validation results from five validators indicated that the instructional video falls under the "highly feasible" category, with a feasibility score of 90.6%. Cognitive learning outcomes increased by 15.6% after the implementation of the video, with a t-count of 8.694 > t-table of 2.045 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The average psychomotor score reached 85%, with a t-count of 76.347 > t-table of 2.045 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Student responses to the instructional video were categorized as “good” with a percentage of 77%. Based on these findings, the instructional video is considered feasible and effective in improving student learning outcomes in the Penataan Sanggul Pusung Tagel material.

Abstract

The success of educational activities relies heavily on the use of innovative learning strategies. One such strategy is Problem-Based Learning (PBL), which emphasizes real-world and contextual problem-solving.This study aims to (1) evaluate the implementation of the PBL syntax, (2) analyze students’ academic performance covering intellectual (cognitive), behavioral (affective), and practical skills (psychomotor) dimensions, and (3) assess students’ responses to the application of PBL in the hand bouquet material. The research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design involving a single group that received a pre-test and post-test. The participants consisted of 32 eleventh-grade students from the Beauty Competency Group 1 at SMKN 6 Surabaya. Data collection instruments included observation sheets, academic tests, and questionnaires. Instrument validity was tested and confirmed to be valid. The reliability test yielded a Cronbach’s Alpha score of 0.991, indicating that the instruments were highly reliable and suitable for data collection purposes. The research data were analyzed using mean scores for the PBL syntax implementation and affective assessment, paired sample t-test for intellectual academic performance, one-sample test for practical performance, and percentage analysis for questionnaire data. The findings revealed that the PBL syntax implementation achieved an "excellent" category with a score of 4.88. Intellectual performance showed a significant improvement from a pre-test score of 57.66 to a post-test score of 82.19. The affective aspect improved from a score of 4.12 in the first session to 4.30 in the second, both falling under the "very good" category. Practical skill performance reached a score of 85.50, exceeding the minimum passing grade (KKTP) of 70. Students’ responses to the learning model were highly positive, with an average score of 96%. It can be concluded that the PBL model is effective in enhancing students’ academic performance in learning the hand bouquet material. Keywords: Pre-Experimental, Hand Bouquet, Problem-Based Learning
