Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine the influence of supervisor's academic supervision, principal's leadership and work discipline on teacher performance at the Bulu District Elementary School. This study uses quantitative research methods. The population of this study were 293 teachers from 25 schools. The number of samples taken in the study were 158 teachers. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. The data analysis method used is single regression and multiple regression. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be seen that (1) academic supervision of supervisors has a positive and significant effect on the performance of Bulu District Elementary School teachers (2) Principal leadership has a positive and significant effect on the performance of Bulu Subdistrict Elementary School teachers (3) Work discipline has a positive and significant effect on performance of district elementary school teachers (4) Academic supervision of supervisors, Principal leadership and work discipline have a simultaneous  effect on the performance of teachers in Bulu District Elementary School.

Abstract

Generally Madrasah has weak competitiveness in many sectors. One of them is the availability and management of human resources that is less optimal. This has led to the low professionalism of human resources who manage education institutions of Madrasah in Indonesia. As a result, the quality of Madrasah is still left behind by other public educational institutions. Some efforts to achieve a qualified Madrasah especially in terms of availability of professional human resources have been experiencing significant constraints, so that the level of public and government appreciation is relatively less. To improve the performance of Madrasah which is currently underestimated compared to the public schools, it is suggested to implement Total Quality Management (TQM) simultaneously. The application of TQM in Madrasah as Islamic education institution is obviously important to improve and maintain the quality of Madrasah. The implementation of human resource management at Madrasah is very effective in managing the teachers and education staffs in establishing and maintaining the quality of institutions. This is due to the fact that human factor (teacher and education staff) is the most strategic element in the management of Madrasah as Islamic educational institutions. روح المنافسة  في المدارس الدينية عامة ضعيفة. والسبب في ذلك ضعف وجود الموارد البشرية غير الفعّالة. هذا أدي إلى أن مهنية الموارد البشرية المنظم للمدارس الدينية في إندونيسيا – أغلبها – ضعيفة. لذا فإن نوعية وجودة المنظمين للمدارس الدينية متأخرة إذا قورنت بالمنظمين للمدارس العامة. والمحاولة لإيجاد المدارس الدينية الجيدة لا تزال فيها عوائق كثيرة، خاصة فيما يتعلق بتوفر الموارد البشرية المهنية حتى يكون اهتمام وقبول المجتمع والحكومة  بها ناقص. ولترقية انجازات المدارس الدينية يحسن تطبيق TQM متواصلا. وهذا التطبيق – في المدارس الدينية – مهمّ جدا، لأنه به يمكن أن تدارالمدارس الدينية مهنيا لترقية جودتها والمحافظة على هذه الجودة. وتطبيق إدارة الموارد البشرية في المدارس الدينية فعال في تنظيم المدرسين والقائمين بالتربية في تكوين جودة المدارس الدينية والمحافظة عليها، لأن العنصر الإنساني هو عنصر هام في تنظيم وإدارة المؤسسة التربوية الإسلامية (المدارس الدينية) .

Abstract

Scientific literacy can prepare quality human resources who can develop the ability to think logically and creatively, solve problems, be critical, master technology and be adaptive in the face of change and face the times. A vital component to improving students' scientific literacy is understanding the Nature of Science (NoS), which must be emphasized in science learning. The purpose of this study is to obtain a comparison of content and explain aspects of NoS in science textbooks in Indonesia and Singapore. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative with content analysis design. This research focuses on science books for Junior High School Class IX Semester 1 Curriculum 2013 Revised Edition 2018, Integrated Science Books for Junior High School Class IX Curriculum 2013 Revised Edition 2018, and Lower Secondary Science Matters Textbook Volume B 2nd Edition 2013. The data collection techniques are by reviewing documents with non-test instruments in the form of observation guidelines for assessing textbooks based on the NoS aspect developed by Abd-El-Khalick et al., (2008). The data analysis technique uses the fixed comparison method by Moleong (2014). The results obtained are that the textbooks from the two countries have represented several relevant aspects of NoS. Still, the theoretically-driven elements have not been found in the three books, and the existing components have not been well described. Science textbooks in Singapore get a higher score than science textbooks in Indonesia. Still, the availability of the NoS aspect of science textbooks in Indonesia is more than that of science textbooks in Singapore.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to develop teaching materials for the Introduction to Education course by integrating BBR designs in an effort to strengthen student character. This study uses the Research & Development (R&D) method with the approach of Borg & Gall. The product validation process is carried out by means of expert judgment. Data collection using a Likert scale questionnaire with 4 response options. The data analysis process was carried out in a descriptive qualitative manner. This research produces teaching material products with an average percentage of achievement in all aspects of 80.54%, which is categorized as good. Thus, this product can be an alternative teaching material in the Introduction to Education course that has integrated the BBR design, so that it has the potential to strengthen the character of students.

Abstract

This paper discussed the best practice experiences of English teachers in using technology applications during the disruption of the COVID-19. This study also understood teachers' opinions about the reasons that require them to use learning technology. The author's observations on distance learning and semi-structured interviews were methods of obtaining the data. Based on the data analysis and discussion, this paper reveals that the superior practice of teachers using distance learning applications is a professional need for English teachers as the implementation of government policies to close schools and open classes remotely. To meet the demands of student learning, the use of learning applications is part of the learning solution in the era of pandemic disruption. The school's policy is that the best access to learning was by applying learning technology handled professionally. This study also understands that the main factors in the use of learning applications by teachers and students are the use of technology in the digital era to improve competence and learning outcomes in English. The author also understands that the technology learning approach is constructive for teachers and students with technological pedagogical beliefs. Therefore, these skills must be sustainable to improve teachers' teaching competencies and professionalism as an educational approach to the technocultural approach.

Abstract

Persyaratan menjadi calon kepala sekolah adalah memiliki pangkat penata dengan golongan IIIc. Akan tetapi guru SDN di Kota Magelang 159 guru masih mempunyai golongan IIIa dan 73 masih golongan IIIb. Akibatnya ada enam satuan pendidikan di Kota Magelang yang kosong kepala sekolahnya. Berdasarkan hasil analisis di lapangan maka dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa kegiatan pendampingan penyusunan penelitian Tindakan kelas dan artikel ilmiah. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode partisipasi dan diskusi, serta praktek penyusunan penelitian Tindakan kelas. Pelaksanaan program pengabdian ini mencakup beberapa tahap kegiatan yakni tahap persiapan materi, tahap pelaksanaan program dan tahap evaluasi kegiatan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diikuti oleh 30 peserta yang terdiri dari guru yang berada di bawah naungan dinas pendidikan dan kebudayaan kota Magelang. Pada kegiatan ini, 67% guru berhasil membuat karya penelitian tindakan kelas.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship skills are very important to be provided to prospective teachers and teachers through a learning scheme. Before designing a learning scheme, it is necessary to do a mapping to identify weaknesses and strengths in the achievement of entrepreneurship skills. This research was conducted to identify the achievement of entrepreneurship skills of prospective teachers and teachers. In addition, it also identifies the learning process carried out in order to train these entrepreneurial skills. The study was conducted using a survey method, with a total of 77 prospective teacher participants (spread over several universities in Central Java) and 119 teachers (teachers in several schools in Central Java). Questionnaires are used to investigate the achievement of entrepreneurial skills. An analysis of the lesson plan document was carried out to identify the learning process carried out in an effort to train entrepreneurship skills. The study results indicate that entrepreneurship skills still need to be improved, especially for teachers and prospective teacher students, especially the innovative aspect. In addition, this study succeeded in describing how learning activities were carried out to practice entrepreneurship skills.
