Abstract

Abstract

Kata Kunci : Mobilisasi Saraf, Spinal Mobilization With Leg Movement, Nyeri Fungsional, Lumbar Radiculopathy

Abstract

Kata kunci: mc.kenzie exercise; maitland mobilization; nyeri fungsional; range of motion, chronic low back pain.  Chronic low back pain is back pain thattlasts more thann12 weeks and recurs, causing various impairments, namely muscle spasm/tightness, facet joint stiffness, and core muscle weakness, which causes functional pain and limitation of lumbar Range of Motion (ROM).  The purpose of this study was to compare then effect of Mc.Kenzie Exercise and Maitland Mobilization in patients with chronic low back pain. This type of research his quasi-experimental with a randomized pre test-post test two group design, which uses 2 sample groups where treatment group 1 is given Microwave Diathermy, Mc.Kenzie Exercise and Core Stability Exercise interventions, treatment group 2 is given Microwave Diathermy, Maitland Mobilization and Core Stability Exercise. The sample obtained was 24 people according to the inclusion criteria, then randomized into 2 groups, each group of 12 people. Data collection a obtained through measurement of functional pain using the Core Outcome Measurement Index Scale and measurement of lumbar ROM using a Bubble Inclinometer. Based on the result kof the paired sample t test in treatment group 1, the p value = 0,000 for flexion, p value = 0,000 for extension, and p value = 0,000 for COMI-back. Treatment groups obtained a value of p = 0.000 for flexion, a value of p = 0.000 for extension, and p = 0.000 for COMI-back, this shows that there is a significant effect of treatment group 1 and treatment group 2 on improving functional pain and lumbar flexion-extension ROM. Then, based on the independent sample t test, the p value = 0.000 for flexion, p value = 0.006 for extension, and p value = 0.003 for COMI-back, which means that there is a significant difference between treatment group 1 and treatment group 2 on functional pain improvement and lumbar flexion-extension ROM. The Microwave Diathermy, Core Stability Exercise and Maitland Mobilization produces more significant improvements in functional pain and lumbar ROM inmpatients with chronic low back pain. Abstract

Cerebral Palsy is the most common neurological disorder in children that affects movement and posture due to damage to the brain which controls motor skills, causing balance problems when sitting and standing. This balance is affected by the strength of the erector spine and abdominal muscles that straighten and control the trunk. If low trunk muscle tone causes problems with balance and mobility so that the child has difficulty sitting, playing in a sitting position, functional hand movements such as eating and activities of daily living. This research is an experiment with a pre test – post one group design which aims to analyze the effectiveness of bobath and pilates therapy on sitting and standing balance in children with cerebral palsy. A total of 17 children with cerebral palsy were given bobath and pilates therapy for 16 weeks, with a dose of: 1 time/day, 3 times a week with a treatment time of 45 minutes for each child. The research subjects were children with cerebral palsy with the following criteria: 1-year old, unbalanced sitting and standing. It will be carried out from February to June 2023. Sitting balance is measured with a sitting level scale and standing balance with a pediatric balance scale. The research subjects consisted of 13 men (76.47%) and 4 women (23.53%) with the GMFCS categories being III and IV. The average age of research subjects: 36.5758 ± 15.02504. The results of statistical tests with Wilcoxon obtained a value of p = 0.001 at the sitting level of the scale and p = 0.002 on the pediatric balance scale. Conclusion: Bobath and pilates therapy are effective in increasing the value of the sitting level of the scale and the pediatric balance scale in children with cerebral palsy.

Abstract

The elderly patient population is vulnerable to various chronic diseases and has limited levels of access to health information. Effective health promotion programs can improve the quality of life of this group and prevent disease. A health promotion program is a series of activities aimed at increasing awareness, knowledge and healthy behaviour in a population or community. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a health promotion program implemented with elderly patients in clinical practice in improving their knowledge, healthy living behaviour and health outcomes. This research method was carried out using a quasi-experimental design using a sample of elderly patients who participated in a six-month health promotion program at a community health clinic. Data collection was carried out through pre- and post-intervention questionnaires, and data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics and hypothesis testing. The results of this study show an increase in patient knowledge about healthy eating patterns, physical activity, and stress management after participating in the health promotion program. In addition, there have been positive changes in healthy lifestyle behaviour and a reduction in the number of visits to health facilities due to diseases related to unhealthy lifestyles. The conclusion of this research is that health promotion programs for elderly patients in clinical practice are effective in increasing knowledge, improving healthy living behaviour, and reducing the risk of chronic disease. The recommendations of this study are to expand the scope of health promotion programs in various clinical settings and continue to encourage the participation of elderly patients to achieve optimal health outcomes.
