Abstract

This study uses survey and observation methods at SMK Islam Bustanul Athfal. Ulum Pakusari, the lack of infrastructure, especially mat media, makes learning less effective and efficient. Many students wait for their turn when doing floor gymnastics. In this study, a modification was carried out to create a simple alternative modification of rice straw as a supporting tool for floor gymnastics learning. Modified rice straw measuring 60x120 cm, 30 cm thick, requires a stable balance in its manufacture with straw media as a solution for floor gymnastics learning. The method used is to define, interpret, and explain a situation. The learning process using straw media modifications is very helpful in overcoming the lack of facilities at SMK Islam Bustanul Ulum. Straw is easy to use and as a supporting tool for learning.

The population in this study were students at Nogosari 06 Elementary School with a research sample of 14 fifth grade students. This study is a correlational research with a survey method. The results obtained from this study indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between theoretical and practical learning on the learning outcomes of students at Nogosari 06 Elementary School. In addition, the theoretical learning method has a stronger relationship than the practical learning method on the learning outcomes of students at Nogosari 06 Elementary School. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers in charge of PJOK subjects pay more attention to how to practice existing theories so that they are easier for students to understand.

Abstract

Salaf Schools, as Islamic educational institutions, often face limited facilities and infrastructure. This study aims to analyze the obstacles and challenges in providing sports facilities and infrastructure, especially badminton, in Salaf schools that have limited facilities. Creative modifications such as the use of used bottles as a substitute for rackets are carried out to overcome these limitations. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and case studies. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with teachers and principals, as well as observations of sports facilities in schools. The results of the study showed that although the tools used were not standard, these modifications increased student participation and enthusiasm in sports learning. The principle of "indeed with difficulty there is ease" was applied to motivate teachers and students to remain creative and productive in facing limitations. This innovative solution succeeded in creating an interactive learning atmosphere and supporting students' physical development.

Abstract

Interest has a very big influence on learning outcomes, if the learning material being studied does not match the student's learning interests, then the student will not learn as well as possible, because there is no special attraction. So that students are lazy to learn, students do not get satisfaction from the lesson. Interest is a constant tendency to pay attention and remember some activities that someone is interested in, paid attention to continuously accompanied by a sense of pleasure. Students who have high interest encourage students to be more enthusiastic and diligent in their learning, students will always be enthusiastic and always interested in every material taught. A teacher really needs to do various ways to be able to increase student interest in learning. In order for student interest in learning to increase, teachers need to innovate in learning. One thing that teachers need to pay attention to in order to be able to increase interest in learning in physical education. An important play model is owned by teachers in every learning. Good technical group games are not enough to show performance when learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of technology games for understanding for students in physical education. The research method used was an experiment with a pretest and posttest group design. The population of this study was junior high school students in grade VIII. The sampling technique used in this study was cluster random sampling, with 48 participants. This study was conducted for 6 weeks with 12 meetings with 90 minutes each meeting. Data analysis used paired samples t-test. The results of the study showed that there was a significant influence of the implementation of the Teaching Games for Understanding (TGFU) model. The TGFU model in practice in the field prioritizes a play approach that can encourage students to do various play groups better. The conclusion of this study is that the TGFU model is very effective to be applied in physical education learning groups in high school. In further research, the TGFU model can be applied to different levels of education.

Abstract

Reception analysis plays a crucial role in modern sports. One essential aspect of match analysis in Sepak Takraw is the reception technique. This study aims to analyze reception techniques through video recordings of semi-professional Sepak Takraw matches. The research employs a quantitative descriptive method using an indirect observation approach (video analysis). In its implementation, the researchers analyzed match footage to evaluate the receiving techniques used during the final match of the double event between the Jember and Malang teams at the 2023 East Java POMPROV. A purposive sampling technique was used to determine the research subjects, focusing on the receptions performed by both teams during the final match. The instruments in this study included video recordings and an observation checklist (receive analysis sheet), categorizing reception outcomes into successful receives (R1) and unsuccessful receives (R0). Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel to calculate the number and percentage of successful and unsuccessful receptions. The descriptive analysis revealed that Jember had a higher success rate in both sets. In Set 1, Jember achieved a perfect reception success rate of 100%, while Malang reached 92.31%. In Set 2, Jember maintained the lead with 93.75%, whereas Malang recorded 90.56%. The conclusion indicates that the Jember team outperformed the Malang team in terms of reception success during the final match. These findings are expected to serve as a valuable evaluation tool for coaches aiming to enhance reception techniques in Sepak Takraw and for athletes seeking to improve their performance.

Abstract

This study aims to explore arm strength training practices within the Pencak Silat community, focusing on Tapak Suci Martial Arts School at Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with an ethnographic approach, allowing an in-depth exploration of training techniques, routines, and practitioner experiences. The findings reveal that Tapak Suci's traditional training methods—such as bodyweight exercises, striking hard objects, and lifting natural weights—are still widely practiced and play a crucial role in building endurance and mental resilience. However, these methods lack structured progression and explosive power development, which are essential for modern competitive fighting. The study also finds that modern training techniques, including resistance band exercises, weightlifting, and plyometric drills, offer scientifically-backed advantages in muscle strength enhancement. The integration of both traditional and modern methods can create a more effective and well-rounded training program, optimizing fighter performance while preserving Pencak Silat’s cultural identity. In conclusion, while traditional training methods remain fundamental, their integration with modern sports science techniques provides greater efficiency, strength gains, and injury prevention. Future research should explore long-term impacts of combined training approaches and assess how practitioners culturally adapt to modern techniques while maintaining the essence of traditional martial arts training.
