Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas representasi kegelisahan Generasi Z dalam album Menari dengan Bayangan karya Hindia melalui kajian semiotika Roland Barthes. Kajian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kuatnya lirik lagu sebagai bagian dari sastra populer yang mampu merefleksikan tekanan sosial, kecemasan, pencarian identitas, dan pengalaman emosional generasi muda. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan simbol-simbol kegelisahan Gen Z dalam delapan lagu Hindia serta menganalisis relevansinya berdasarkan persepsi pendengar Gen Z. Penelitian menggunakan metode campuran dengan desain sequential exploratory. Data kualitatif diperoleh melalui analisis lirik berdasarkan konsep denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos, sedangkan data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui kuesioner kepada 35 mahasiswa Sastra Indonesia Universitas Sumatera Utara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan delapan simbol utama, yaitu penarikan diri, penyangkalan emosi, penerimaan keterbatasan, ketidakpastian masa depan, kejenuhan rutinitas, pencarian makna, kekosongan batin, dan kebingungan tujuan hidup. Implikasinya, album ini merepresentasikan realitas psikologis Gen Z secara autentik.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the moral values ​​contained in the novel "Pasta Kacang Merah" by Durian Sukegawa using a sociology of literature approach. The moral values ​​analyzed include the relationship between humans and themselves, the relationship between humans and others, and the relationship between humans and God. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis techniques on relevant quotations from the novel. The results of the study show that this novel is full of moral values, such as an attitude of gratitude, discipline, patience, and humility which are reflected in the relationship between humans and themselves. In relationships with others, the values ​​of empathy, tolerance, solidarity, and respect for others are found. Meanwhile, the relationship between humans and God is seen through spiritual awareness, an attitude of surrender, and gratitude for life. The moral values ​​contained in this novel not only enrich the character of the characters, but also provide valuable lessons for readers about the importance of building good character and maintaining harmonious relationships with others and God. This research is expected to contribute to the development of literary studies, especially in understanding the role of literary works as a medium for character formation and instilling moral values.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya membaca hikayat Melayu sebagai medium pembentukan norma keagamaan dan sosial, bukan hanya sebagai warisan estetis. Penelitian bertujuan mengidentifikasi, membandingkan, dan memaknai nilai Islam dalam Hikayat Raja Jumjumah dan Hikayat Si Miskin melalui perspektif sosiologi sastra. Penelitian menggunakan desain kualitatif deskriptif-komparatif dengan sumber data berupa edisi teks kedua hikayat. Data dikumpulkan melalui pembacaan intensif dan pencatatan satuan verbal, kemudian dikodekan berdasarkan kategori akidah, syariah/ibadah, dan akhlak serta dianalisis secara sosiologis. Hasil penelitian menemukan 24 data: delapan nilai akidah, enam nilai syariah/ibadah, dan sepuluh nilai akhlak. Hikayat Raja Jumjumah menonjolkan kesadaran eskatologis, pertobatan, dan pertanggungjawaban kekuasaan, sedangkan Hikayat Si Miskin menekankan tanggung jawab keluarga, kepedulian, tolong-menolong, keadilan, dan sedekah. Disimpulkan bahwa kedua hikayat membangun kesinambungan akidah, ibadah, dan akhlak melalui tekanan naratif berbeda. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dengan menawarkan model komparatif yang menjelaskan sastra Melayu sebagai wahana internalisasi etika Islam dalam tata sosial masyarakat Melayu dalam konteks historis.

Abstract

Song lyrics as part of literary works in popular music do not only function as entertainment but also contain a system of signs that represent human experiences and realities. The album Rubik by Dere is interesting to study because it presents poetic lyrics with implicit meanings and has gained attention among university students. This study aims to describe the symbolic meanings in the lyrics of the Rubik album and to examine students’ perceptions of its popularity. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative data in the form of song lyrics are analyzed using the semiotic theory of Charles Sanders Peirce through the classification of signs into icons, indexes, and symbols, with a focus on symbols. The quantitative data are collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to Indonesian Literature students of Universitas Sumatera Utara, class of 2022, and analyzed using descriptive statistics with the assistance of SPSS. The results show that symbolic meanings in the lyrics are dominated by symbols representing inner experiences, social relations, and reflections on life. In addition, students’ perceptions indicate a positive level of popularity. Therefore, the Rubik album demonstrates both rich symbolic meaning and strong appeal among students.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe local wisdom of marsialapari, a mutual assistance activity in the Angkola Mandailing community, represents a form of local wisdom that remains prevalent today. This study aims to examine the values embedded in the local wisdom of marsialapari and its relevance to character education for the Angkola Mandailing community. The research employs a research and development method. The findings reveal that marsialapari as local wisdom is a mutual assistance activity that characterizes the Angkola Mandailing community as an expression of the philosophy of holong (compassion) and domu (togetherness) within the framework of local wisdom encapsulated in dalihan na tolu. The tradition of marsialapari in the Angkola Mandailing community is closely linked to the development of national character in Indonesia, which is founded on noble principles such as solidarity, the spirit of mutual cooperation, ethics, religiosity, and respect for diversity. These principles have the potential to create a generation that is moral, high-integrity, and of high quality, a tradition that remains well-maintained and practiced to this day.
