Abstract

The middle class was born from the dichotomy of conflict between capitalists and workers. This middle class is faced with the fact that they are faced with vertical and horizontal class interests. On the one hand, they are faced with pressure from capitalist groups, while on the other hand, they are faced with proletarian class competition. In addition, the middle class is prone to stuttering transformation between the sacred (religion) and profane (industry) areas. This study reads a phenomenon of inequality in the transformation of a religious-industrial middle class group in Penampon Village, Pasuruan. This study aims to provide a theoretical interpretation of the social phenomena that occur. While as a practical goal, this study attempts to provide a scientific explanation to be used as reading material for the general public to become a reflective value. The type of data method used is observational and qualitative data description. Data sources were obtained through interviews with several informants. From this study, several conclusions were found, First, conflict must arise from interests, both vertical (bourgeois-proletarian) and horizontal (between bourgeois groups and between proletarians). Second, the religious-industrial middle class thinks about two separate latent problems, namely the problem of slow religious transformation and the rapid industrialization project. Third, the power can be born from the truth project. The truth project is latent and produced by the power holders who are based on their superior capital.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited provision of early childhood education (ECE) services, which remains disproportionate to the number of children requiring access. Existing programs, such as toddler family development initiatives and integrated health service posts, have not yet delivered comprehensive, synergistic, and integrative services encompassing education, health, and nutrition. Therefore, this research aims to examine the implementation strategy of holistic-integrative early childhood education at the As-Syifa Early Childhood Education Center in Orong Bawa Village, Utan District. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using SWOT analysis to identify internal (strengths and weaknesses) and external (opportunities and threats) factors influencing the Holistic-Integrative ECE (PAUD HI) program. The results show an internal factor score of -0.2 and an external factor score of 0.6, positioning the program within a specific SWOT quadrant that informs strategic development. The findings indicate that the development of holistic-integrative ECE can be achieved through: (1) the provision of holistic services covering education, health, and child guidance; (2) the implementation of integrative learning strategies addressing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains; and (3) strengthening communication and guidance for parents. Furthermore, effective coordination with related institutions, such as integrated health service posts (Posyandu) and Bina Keluarga Balita (BKB), is essential. In conclusion, holistic-integrative ECE plays a critical role in facilitating comprehensive child development and requires collaborative, systematic, and integrated implementation among all stakeholders.

Abstract

This study examines radical religious expressions among Jamaah Anshorud Daulah (JAD) and Jamaah Anssar Syariah (JAS) in Bima City using a qualitative phenomenological approach grounded in George H. Mead's symbolic interactionism. Based on interviews with six members and twelve months of participant observation, the study finds contrasting patterns across key dimensions. JAD demonstrates rigid religious consciousness, subordinated identities, hierarchical interaction, organization-oriented action, and fixed symbolic meanings. In contrast, JAS shows more flexible religious understanding, greater individual agency, participatory social relations, transformative action, and adaptable symbols. These findings indicate that radical religious action is not spontaneous but develops through a gradual social process involving meaning interpretation, identity construction, group interaction, and symbolic deployment.

Abstract

Modern Islamic education faces increasingly complex challenges amid the developments of globalization, the digital revolution, and rapid social change. One of the fundamental issues that still persists is the dichotomy between religious knowledge and rational knowledge, which results in a learning process that tends to be normative and textual, and fails to foster the development of students’ critical thinking. This situation leads to weak reflective and dialogical abilities in understanding the realities of modern life. In this context, Ibn Rushd’s thought offers an integrative paradigm through the synthesis of revelation and reason as the epistemological foundation for a more humanistic and rational Islamic education. This article aims to analyze the dialectics of Ibn Rushd’s philosophy as a model for modern Islamic education that is relevant to the educational needs of the 21st century. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods through the analysis of various scholarly works related to the philosophy of Islamic education, the integration of knowledge, and the thought of Ibn Rushd. The results indicate that the concepts of burhani, jadali, and khitabi developed by Ibn Rushd have strong relevance to modern learning approaches such as critical thinking, problem-based learning, and collaborative learning. Furthermore, the synthesis of revelation and reason in Ibn Rushd’s thought can serve as an epistemological solution to the problem of the dichotomy of knowledge and religious radicalism.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought major changes in the world of education, including in the learning of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study aims to examine the opportunities, challenges, and impacts of using AI in PAI learning based on the perspective of Islamic philosophy. The research uses the library research method by examining various books, scientific articles, and journals related to the research topic. The results of the study show that AI provides many benefits in learning, such as helping to tailor materials to the needs of students, providing chatbot-based learning assistants, monitoring learning progress, presenting more interesting learning simulations, and facilitating access to various sources of Islamic knowledge. Nonetheless, AI also has limitations because it only works based on data and algorithms. AI cannot replace the role of revelation, reason, spiritual values, or the process of forming students' morals. In the view of Islamic philosophy, teachers remain the main figures as murabbi, mu'allim, and mu'addib who guide, educate, and provide examples to students. Therefore, AI should be used as a learning tool that supports the application of Deep Learning through Meaningful Learning, Mindful Learning, and Joyful Learning, without ignoring Islamic values. Thus, the use of AI can improve the quality of learning while maintaining the main goal of Islamic education, which is to form knowledgeable, noble, and pious human beings.

Abstract

The moral crisis and character deterioration in the world of education today are rooted in the loss of the value of manners in the learning process. This research aims to explore the urgency of adab as the main foundation of character education through the view of Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas. Al-Attas emphasized that the main problem of modern Muslims is not in science and technology but in the loss of adab, which has implications for the chaos of knowledge and the birth of unworthy leaders. This research method uses a qualitative approach with the type of library research. The data were analyzed descriptive-analytically on the main works of Al-Attas on the concept of ta'dib. The results of the study show that in Al-Attas's perspective, education is not just a transfer of knowledge, but the cultivation of adab which includes recognition and acknowledgement as well as awareness of one's abilities and potential, intellect and spirituality towards existing forms and knowledge. The implementation of Al-Attas' thought in Islamic educational institutions demands the integration of intellectual intelligence and spiritual integrity. The findings of the study emphasize that effective character education can only be achieved if educational institutions are able to reactualize the concept of ta'dib, where educators become a mirror of civilization and the curriculum is arranged based on the correct hierarchy of knowledge. Thus, adab is not just a courtesy and complement to the curriculum, but the spirit of the entire process of Islamic education.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the cultivation of Islamic ukhuwah values in social moral education through the perspective of Ibn Khaldun's ashabiyah. The research uses a library research method with a qualitative-descriptive approach through the analysis of various relevant literature sources. The results of the study show that social moral education plays an important role in shaping the character of students who have care, tolerance, responsibility, and social solidarity. The values of ukhuwah Islamiyah, such as brotherhood, help, and unity, are in harmony with the concept of ashabiyah of Ibn Khaldun which emphasizes the importance of social solidarity in people's lives. The integration of these two concepts is relevant to answer the challenges of individualism and moral crises in the modern era. Its implementation can be done through the habit of mutual cooperation, deliberation, social activities, and the example of educators. Thus, social moral education based on ukhuwah Islamiyah and ashabiyah of Ibn Khaldun can be a means of forming a generation that has noble character, has social awareness, and is able to contribute to community life.
