Abstract

Tembawang forest has a very large role for the life of the local community and society which are located around the forest area. Utilizing thorns pandan (Pandanus tectorius) is a forest conservation efforts in order to be able to enjoy the benefits of forests to the future. The method used is descriptive whereas for data collection used a structured interview using a questionnaire. The number of respondents in this study were 100 respondents. The results reveal that the level of utilization of pandanus thorns by society tends to be high. A total of 62 respondents (62%) had a utilization rate of thorns pandan in high tembawang woods, as many as 30 respondents (30%) had a utilization rate of thorns pandan tembawang forests are and as much as 8 resonden (8% ) has a utilization rate of thorns pandan in low tembawang forest. Abstract

This research is aimed to know the effect size of the particle and concentration adhesives of urea  formaldehyde to physical and mechanical properties particle board.Particle board made from the stem of Pandan Mengkuang (Pandanus atrocarpus Griff) from Ambawang Subdistrict, the Regency of Kubu Raya. The size of the particle, which consists of the coarse particle size 4 - 6 meshes, the soft particle size 8 - 10 meshes. The level of urea formaldehyde used the were 10%, 12% and 14% from the basic material mass.Particle board is made with size 30 cm x 30 cm x 1 cm with target density of 0,6 g/cm3at a specificpressure of25 kg/cm2 and temperature of 150º C for 10 minutes. Evaluation of the physical properties and mechanical properties was conducted according to JIS A 5908-2003.The results of this research showed the average value based the density is around 0,58 g/cm3 – 0,66 g/cm3, the moisture content is around 7,79% - 9,72%, thickness swelling is around14,72% - 21,59%, water absorption is around 74,40% - 99,65%,modulus of elasticity is around 5122,05 kg/cm2 – 10995,76 kg/cm2, modulus of repture is around 109,22 kg/cm2 – 194,15 kg/cm2,the internal bonding strengthis around 2,74 kg/cm2 – 3,59 kg/cm2, and the screws holding strength is around 52,06 kg – 77,09 kg. The best treatment for the physical and mechanical of particle board made from Pandan Mengkuang (Pandanus atrocarpus Griff) stem is the size of the coarse particle and urea  formaldehyde concentration 14%. Abstract

Forest communities have a very significant role for the life of the community or communities that are around the area of protected forest. is the source of life that is very important for humans, animals, plants and microorganism of small though. Sometimes many people do not realize that they live around the area that are a boon for survival that can continue living as they should, so that public participation in addressing any action that many pollute, negate and endanger water sources and protected forest areas in needed. The methods used in this research study is descriptive in the form of a structured interview survey technique using research tools such as questionnaires. The number of respondents in this research study were as many as 75 respondents. From the result of the study determined that public participation in conserving the area of protected forest as a source of clean water are likely to. Abstract

The cyprinidae family is a true freshwater fish that dominant in Indonesian fresh waters and the main in habitant of the most population in several rivers in Kalimantan. One of river that found cyprinidae family is Ariung river in Mendalam Village, North Putussibau District, Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan. This study aims to obtain data on the fish diversity of the cyprinidae in Ariung River. The method used in this research is survey method and direct observation in the field. Determination of sampling points with purposive sampling and followed systematically based on environmental conditions. The results showed as many as 5 observation stations found 187 individuals belonging to 15 types, among them are Barbichthys laevis, Barbodes schwanenfeldii, Cyclocheilichtys apogon, Hampala macrolepidota, Labiobarbus ocellatus, Osteochilus hasselti, Osteochilus kappenii, Osteochilus microcephalus, Osteochilus pleurotaenia, Osteochilus waandersii, Puntioplites bulu, Rasbora caudimaculata, Rasbora sp, Thynnichthys polylepis dan Thynnichthys thynnoides. Based on the results of data analysis, the dominant index of fish in the Ariung river shows low dominance. Values (C) from the five observation stations ranged from 0.135 - 0.284. The index of fish species diversity in the Ariung river shows moderate species diversity. Diversity index (H ') values for the five stations ranged from 1.322 - 2.130. Evenness index (E) values at the five stations are at 0.912 – 0.953 and a wealth index (R) at the five stations has a high wealth of R > 4.Keywords: Ariung Rivers, Cyprinidae Family, Fish Diversity

Abstract

The Malay tribe in Kumpang Tengah Village is one of the indigenous tribes of West Kalimantan which has biodiversity in the use of fauna since ancient times to meet the needs of life, one of which is as food, medicine, ritual, mystical and art. The purpose of this study was to record the types of animals used for consumption, traditional rituals, arts, medicines. The data collection technique was carried out by in-depth interviews with respondents who were selected using a survey method and the selection of respondents was carried out using a snowball sampling technique. Respondents amounted to 20 people, data collection using a questionnaire. The results showed that the use of animals as many as 27 types of animals ranging from mammals, aves, reptiles, insects, annelids, pisces, crustaceans in the village. Utilization for consumption of 15 animals, arts 3 animals, treatment of 4 animals, rituals and mystical as many as 6 animal species. Its main parts are flesh, gall, horns, whole body. Based on the high percentage of animal species used by the Malay community of Kumpang Tengah Village, the consumption is 65%. Utilization of animals for treatment by drinking and eating. How to manage, dried and cooked. Utilization of animals for art by drying animal skins and animal horns on display.Keywords: Ethnozoology, Kumpang Tengah, Utilization. AbstrakSuku Melayu di Desa Kumpang Tengah merupakan salah satu etnis asli Kalimantan Barat yang memiliki keanekaragaman dalam pemanfaatan fauna sejak dulu untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup, salah satunya sebagai bahan pangan, obat-obatan, ritual, mistis dan seni. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendata jenis-jenis hewan yang dimanfaatkan untuk konsumsi, ritual adat, kesenian, obat-obatan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap responden yang terpilih dengan menggunakan metode survey dan pemilihan responden dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik snowball sampling. Responden berjumlah 20 orang, penggumpulan data menggunakan bantuan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukan pemanfaatan satwa sebanyak 27 jenis satwa dari mamalia, aves, reptile, insecta, annelida, pisces, crustacese di desa tersebut. Pemanfaatan untuk konsumsi sebanyak 15 satwa, kesenian sebanyak 3 satwa, penggobatan sebanyak 4 satwa, ritual dan mistis sebanyak 6 jenis satwa. Bagian utamanya adalah daging, empedu, tanduk, seluruh badan. Berdasarkan tinggi presentase jenis satwa yang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat Melayu Desa Kumpang Tengah yaitu konsumsi sebesar 65%. Pemanfaatan satwa untuk pengobatan dengan cara, diminum dan dimakan. Cara pengelolahannya, dikeringkan dan dimasak. Pemanfaatan satwa untuk kesenian dengan cara, kulit satwa dikeringkan dan tanduk satwa dijadikan pajangan.Kata Kunci : Etnozoologi, Kumpang Tengah, Pemanfaatan.

Abstract

Nepenthes is one of plant’s the uniq and spesific. The uniqueness and of that found on the bag's existence is a modification from the ends of the leaves of this plant, so called by the Pitcher Plant. In Indonesia plant better known as Nepenthes belongs to family Nepenthaceae, that comprises 82 types around the world, the center of the spread of the world's largest Nepenthes of which are found in Borneo and Sumatra.  The purpose of this research is to know the species of Nepenthes are contained within the Park area Asuansang Mountain nature tourism Sub Paloh Regency Sambas.  Method’s is carried out using the exploration area in the thorough, in conducting the observation made five cruise lines with the length, direction and distance varies on each track. The fifth track is track 1, track 2, track 3, track 4 and track 5. After identifying found type of Nepenthes sebayak five types for the entire path i.e. n. ampullaria jack, n. gracilis korth. N. mirabilis (Lour) Druce. N. rafflesiana jack. N. echinostoma, from 149 individuals. Types that are often encountered in 5 lines of observation is the type of n. Gracilis korth and n. Mirabilis (Lour) Druce and there are also 4 types of aliens into the status of IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources). that is the type of n. ampullaria jack, n. gracilis korth. Abstract

The research aims to examine the physical and mechanical properties of cement board from sago fiber waste (Metroxylon Sp) based on cement size and composition and determine the best ratio of cement and sago fiber (Metroxylon sp) and meet the standards of JIS A 5417: 1992. The study was conducted at the Laboratorium WoodWorkshop, Wood Processing, Wood Technology and PT. Duta Pertiwi Nusantara Pontianak. The method used was an experimental method in a factorial Randomized Complete Design factorial experiment of 2 x 3 with 3 replications and a total of 18 experiments. The factors used in sago fiber length (Factor A) and fiber (Factor B).  The tests include physical properties and mechanical properties with a target density of 1 gr / cm³. The results showed that the average value of the physical properties of the cement board included density 0.9713 gr / cm³ - 1.2246 gr / cm³, moisture content 3.5054% - 3.9448%, water absorption 0.9746 % - 1.1318% and thick Development 0.8649% - 0.9892%. The mean mechanical properties of cement board include MOE 10,564,6646 kg / cm² - 35,475,7865 kg / cm² and MOR 7,5797 kg / cm² - 25,8554 kg / cm². The best research is in treatment (a1b2) with a ratio of cement and fiber (80:20) with a length of sago fiber 2 cm and meets the standards of JIS A 5417: 1992 with the of 23, with a physical property density value of 1.2198 gr / cm³, water content is 3.7401%, water absorption is 0.9944%, and thickness development is 0.9048%. The mechanical properties value of Modulus of Elasticity is 28439.1825 kg / cm² and Modulus of Rupture is 25.8554 kg / cm².Keyword:   Cement Comparison,  Fiber Length, Sago Fiber, Physical and Mechanical Propertie

Abstract

The people of Ladangan Village are people who have a culture of farming by moving places. Various types of flora and fauna can be found in secondary forest areas including beetles. Beetles play an important role as environmental bioindicators. Some types of beetles can also be pollinator insects, predators, seed spreaders, and decomposers.  The purpose of this study was to identify the type of beetle in the secondary forest in Ladangan Village.  This research was conducted by survey method and data retrieval conducted by purposive sampling. The results of this study obtained 10 families, 21 species, and 442 individual beetles in the secondary forest of Ladangan Village. Catharsius dayacus was the most widely discovered species during the study. Beberapa jenis kumbang juga dapat menjadi serangga penyerbuk, predator, penyebar benih dan pengurai. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendapatkan jenis kumbang di hutan sekunder bekas perladangan di Desa Ladangan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survey dan pengambilan data dilakukan dengan purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini mendapatkan 10 famili, 21 spesies dan 442 individu kumbang di hutan sekunder Desa Ladangan. Catharsius dayacus merupakan spesies yang paling banyak ditemukan selama penelitian berlangsung. Kata Kunci: Hutan sekunder, Identifikasi, Keanekaragaman dan Kumbang

Abstract

The people of Pandu Raya Village, Parindu Subdistrict, Sanggau Regency, still use non-timber forest products which are used as raw materials for webbing. The research aims to analyze the use and describe the making of woven from non-timber forest products by the people of Pandu Raya Village, Parindu District, Sanggau Regency. The research method was carried out by interview. Retrieval of data using purposive sampling techniques. The results found 11 types of non-timber forest products used, namely 8 species of uwi such as uwi omak (Calamus javanensis Blume), uwi joronang (Daemonorops melanochaetes Blume), uwi siguh (Calamus caesius Blume), uwi golapak (Daemonorops geniculata (Giff) Mart) , uwi lowa (Korthalasia echinometra Blume), uwi danan (Calamus trachycoleus Becc), uwi marao (Korthalsia rigida Blume) and uwi joroyat (Calamus manan Miq). 1 type of korupok (Pandanus tectorius). 1 type of sago (Metroxylon sago) and 1 type of poring lantae (Gigantochloa hasskarliana). The highest utilization value (UV) was uwi omak (Calamus javanensis Blume) with a utilization value (0.8488) while the lowest utilization value was uwi danan (Calamus trachycoleus Becc) with a utilization value (0.3488). Of the 11 types of non-timber forest products used include stems with a percentage (50%), fronds with a percentage (9%) and leaves with a percentage (41%). The resulting webbing is in the form of raga, jarai, so`ok, tomik, korosah, punjuk, juah, jampot, koranyak, simpae and bakol, omaa` korupok, sorok, bomap, omaa` sago, roat sago, copat, limpak and oyok podi.Keywords: Non-Timber Forest Products, Utilization, Wicker. Masyarakat Desa Pandu Raya, Kecamatan Parindu, Kabupaten Sanggau, masih memanfaatkan hasil hutan bukan kayu yang dijadikan bahan baku anyaman. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan dan mendeskripsikan pembuatan anyaman dari hasil hutan bukan kayu oleh masyarakat Desa Pandu Raya, Kecamatan Parindu, Kabupaten Sanggau. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan wawancara. Pengambilan data menggunakan teknik Purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 11 jenis hasil hutan bukan kayu yang dimanfaatkan yaitu 8 jenis uwi seperti uwi omak (Calamus javanensis Blume), uwi joronang (Daemonorops melanochaetes Blume), uwi siguh (Calamus caesius Blume), uwi golapak (Daemonorops geniculata (Giff) Mart), uwi lowa (Korthalasia echinometra Blume), uwi danan (Calamus trachycoleus Becc), uwi marao (Korthalsia rigida Blume) dan uwi joroyat (Calamus manan Miq). Korupok 1 jenis (Pandanus tectorius). Sago 1 jenis (Metroxylon sagu) dan poring lantae 1 jenis (Gigantochloa hasskarliana). Nilai pemanfaatan (UV) tertinggi yaitu uwi omak (Calamus javanensis Blume) dengan nilai pemanfaatan (0,8488) sedangkan nilai pemanfaatan terendah yaitu uwi danan (Calamus trachycoleus Becc) dengan nilai pemanfaatan (0,3488). Dari 11 jenis hasil hutan bukan kayu yang dimanfaatkan meliputi batang dengan persentase (50%), pelepah dengan persentase (9%) dan daun dengan persentase (41%). Anyaman yang dihasilkan berupa raga, jarai, so`ok, tomik, korosah, pingat, juah, jampot, koranyak, simpae dan bakol, omaa` korupok, sorok, bomap, omaa` sago, roat sago, copat, limpak dan oyok podi.Kata Kunci: Anyaman, Hasil Hutan Bukan Kayu, Pemanfaatan

Abstract

Medicinal plants are the use of biodiversity that is around us, both cultivated plants and wild plants. Since ancient times, plants have been used as medicine. The use of plants as medicine is also still carried out by the Bengkayang community, one of which is in Sebalo Village, Bengkayang District, Bengkayang Regency. Since ancient times, people have used plants as a treatment for all kinds of diseases. The purpose of this study is to determine the types of plants used as medicine and to know the parts and benefits of medicinal plants found in Sebalo Village, Bengkayang District, Bengkayang Regency. The research was conducted using descriptive methods, namely survey and interview techniques. Collecting data in the form of qualitative data directly in the field to informants, the data collected includes primary and secondary data. Sampling/respondents were carried out by Snowball Sampling. Data analysis was carried out by qualitative descriptive analysis, namely describing the data collected in the form of words, pictures, and not numbers. Based on the results of interviews with the people of Sebalo Village, Bengkayang District, Bengkayang Regency, there are 31 types of medicinal plants and 22 families that are used by the community. The medicinal plants found in the field were 5 species of trees, 11 species of shrubs, 13 species of herbs, and 3 types of lianas. The method of processing these medicinal plants, starting from boiling, burning, pounding, kneading, sliced, and directly used . Based on the method of processing, most medicinal plants are processed by boiling as many as 16 types of medicinal plants. While the least is by chewing and burning. The use of medicinal plants is mostly done by drinking 24 types, and the least is by eating and rubbing, which is only 1 type.Keywords :  Bengkayang Regency, Medicinal plants, Sebalo village, UtilizationAbstrakTumbuhan obat merupakan pemanfaatan keanekaragaman hayati yang ada di sekitar kita, baik tumbuhan budidaya maupun tumbuhan liar. Sejak zaman kuno, tanaman telah digunakan sebagai obat. Pemanfaatan tumbuhan sebagai obat juga masih dilakukan oleh masyarakat Bengkayang salah satunya di Desa Sebalo Kecamatan Bengkayang Kabupaten Bengkayang. Sejak zaman kuno, orang telah menggunakan tanaman sebagai pengobatan untuk segala macam penyakit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis tumbuhan yang dimanfaatkan sebagai obat serta mengetahui bagian dan manfaat tumbuhan obat yang terdapat di Desa Sebalo Kecamatan Bengkayang Kabupaten Bengkayang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif, yaitu teknik survei dan wawancara. Pengumpulan data berupa data kualitatif langsung di lapangan kepada informan, data yang dikumpulkan meliputi data primer dan data sekunder. Pengambilan sampel/responden dilakukan dengan Snowball Sampling. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu mendeskripsikan data yang terkumpul dalam bentuk kata-kata, gambar, dan bukan angka. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan masyarakat Desa Sebalo Kecamatan Bengkayang Kabupaten Bengkayang terdapat 31 jenis tanaman obat dan 22 famili yang dimanfaatkan masyarakat. Jenis tumbuhan obat yang ditemukan di lapangan adalah 5 jenis pohon, 11 jenis perdu, 13 jenis herba, dan 3 jenis liana. Cara pengolahan tanaman obat ini, mulai dari direbus, dibakar, ditumbuk, diuleni, diiris, dan langsung digunakan. Berdasarkan cara pengolahannya, tanaman obat paling banyak diolah dengan cara direbus yaitu sebanyak 16 jenis tanaman obat. Sedangkan yang paling sedikit adalah dengan cara dikunyah dan dibakar.
