Abstract

Pregnancy is a reproductive process that requires special attention so that it runs smoothly because it involves the lives of the mother and fetus (Elisabeth, 2020). Prenatal yoga is one way to prepare mothers physically and psychologically, including reducing anxiety before giving birth. Prenatal Yoga helps expectant mothers prepare themselves to face childbirth with confidence, happiness, comfort, without fear, as well as strengthening and forming body posture. The aim of this service is to increase the knowledge and participation of pregnant women in carrying out prenatal yoga exercises to improve health and reduce discomfort during pregnancy. The steps for this activity consist of establishing relationships, submitting proposals and setting schedules, as well as involving an evaluation process with a question and answer session. This counseling includes lecture methods, discussions, practices, and audio-visual media during prenatal yoga. The result of this community service activity is that 60% of pregnant women had poor knowledge about prenatal yoga before receiving counseling. After being provided with information about prenatal yoga, the knowledge of pregnant women increased by about 90%. The recommendation from the community service group to pregnant women is to improve their health by practicing prenatal yoga, including body movements and breathing techniques that can provide a relaxing effect, help reduce physical stress, and facilitate the delivery process.

Abstract

With an efficacy rate of up to 99.4 percent, the intrauterine device (IUD) is highly effective in reducing maternal mortality and limiting population growth. Hormonal IUDs have a duration of use of 3–5 years, while copper IUDs last for 5–10 years. The study referred to is an analytical observational cross-sectional study, meaning that the independent and dependent variables were measured simultaneously (Sastroasmoro & Ismael, 2014). This research was conducted at Payakabung Public Health Center, North Inderalaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The study was carried out from April to June 2025.The population of this study included all family planning acceptors in the working area of Payakabung Public Health Center in 2024, North Inderalaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. Sampling was conducted using probability sampling with a simple random sampling technique. The Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) software was used to perform the chi-square test for analysis. The selection of intrauterine contraceptive devices (IUDs) was significantly correlated with anxiety level, educational level, and employment status. The selection of IUDs was significantly associated with anxiety level (p-value = 0.028, α < 0.05). Educational level was significantly correlated with the adoption of IUD contraception (p-value = 0.023, α ≤ 0.05). Employment status was also significantly associated with the selection of IUDs (p-value = 0.028, α ≤ 0.05).

Abstract

Background: Hypertension in pregnancy is one of the leading causes of maternal and fetal mortality worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that hypertension accounts for approximately 12–14% of total maternal deaths globally. Factors such as knowledge, maternal age, and history of hypertension are important determinants in the occurrence of pregnancy-induced hypertension. Objective: This study aims to investigate the relationship between knowledge level, age, and history of hypertension with the occurrence of hypertension in pregnant women at the UPTD Burnai Mulya Health Center in OKU Timur District in 2024. Method: This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 190 pregnant women, and a sample of 57 individuals was selected using non-random sampling. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of p<0.05. Results: Among the 30 respondents with poor knowledge, 66.7% experienced hypertension (p=0.000). Among the 35 respondents in the high-risk age group, 51.4% experienced hypertension (p=0.012). Among the 28 respondents with a history of hypertension, 67.9% experienced hypertension (p=0.000). There was a significant association between the three variables and the occurrence of hypertension. Conclusion: Level of knowledge, high-risk age, and history of hypertension were significantly associated with the occurrence of hypertension in pregnant women. It is recommended that midwives be more proactive in providing education and regular blood pressure monitoring to prevent pregnancy complications.
