Abstract

The research objective entitled terrorism in the news frame (framing analysis of the news of the legal verdict of inmate terrorism Abu Afif on detiknews.com as the online media edition September 13 2018)was to find out how detiknwes.com as the online media framed the news of Abu Afif terrorist prisoners. This study focuses on reporting on the legal verdict of inmete terrorism prisoner Abu Afif. This research is aqualitativ content analysis research. The method used is framing analysis using the zhongdang pan and gerald M. Kosicki models. The flaming method is used to analyze the text of the media because there is a prominence of certain infotmation. Based on the results of the analysis of graming news developed by detiknews.com on the news of Abu Afifs convictions by means of: selection of news titles, selection of news sources, selection detiknews.com in highlighting news tends to play neutral and not to do analysis and sharp reviews. Framing detiknews.com raises legal issuse, and has nothing to do with politics and religion. Therefore, the frame used by detiknews.com is the legal frame.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, lectures at Unived Bengkulu were conducted online. One of the media used to facilitate online communication during lectures is google classroom. Lecturing through google classroom is a new innovation for lecturers and students who previously lectured face to face and then conducted online. To find out the use of online communication media, google classroom in lectures at Unived Bengkulu during the Covid-19 pandemic, the author uses the characteristics of innovation from Everett M. Rogers which has five characteristics that can affect the level of use of an innovation, namely relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, and observability. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. The technique of determining informants using purposive sampling, the informants consisted of three lecturers and nine students. The results of the study state that based on the characteristics of its relative advantage, google classroom is a flexible, simple and efficient medium. Based on the characteristics of compatibility, Google Classroom is considered suitable for use during this pandemic, because Google Classroom can be accessed anywhere and anytime that is connected to the internet. Complexity is felt in difficult networks, especially in rural areas. Based on observations during the trial in the early semester, this media can be reused in the following semester. The use of online communication media google classroom in lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic at Dehasen Bengkulu University ran smoothly and was suitable to be applied during the Covid-19 period, even though constraints with network, but this could be overcome because it had a deadline given by the lecturer.

Abstract

Youtube is one part of social networking that can create a very close interaction and communication relationship between its users. Inside the YouTube social media account, the account is created by people who basically want to be a part of YouTube content creators. Many people out there who like to play Youtube but do not have the channel account. YouTube channel accounts are made with a variety of content, there are accounts that specialize in making videos of one's daily life, specialist accounts for opinion videos related to issues that are currently hot, specialist accounts for motivational videos, specialist accounts for culinary videos, specialist accounts for videos prank videos and more. What will be the focus of the researcher in this study is the video titled "Saya Mualaf Bila" with views of 3.2 million to this day, views mean that is the frequency of a video is seen. This research method uses purposive sampling supported by Stuart Hall's reception theory. The video is 15 minutes 21 seconds length, in the video Deddy Corbuzer is talking to a religious leader known as Gus Miftah. Deddy Corbuzer talks about religious issues that are rife in Indonesia, causing divisions. The results of this study are the analysis of audience or viewers’ reception of the video message "Saya Mualaf Bila" on Deddy Courbuzier’s YouTube Channel account and the most dominant reception is the interpretation of opposition.

Abstract

The phenomenon of early marriage is a problem that often occurs and is considered normal by adolescents in Central Bengkulu district which is included in the category of the top three cases of early marriage in Bengkulu province in 2019. The purpose of this study was to determine the self-concept of teenagers marrying young with peers in Kertapati village. Homecoming. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The theory used is William Brooks (2017: 108), namely the factors that influence a person's self-concept. The results of the study show that the self-concept of adolescents who marry young with their peers is formed through their first view of themselves which assumes that they are ready to marry even though they are still young, this is evidenced by changes in attitudes that adjust their roles and status as married. Second, reactions and responses from other people can shape the self-concept of young married couples developing through the interaction of married couples with the community. The self-concept is formed from the learning process by understanding the reactions and responses of neighbors, village heads and BMA leaders so that married couples participate in socializing and participating in society. Third, the self-concept of young married couples formed from their roles as husband and wife in the household has an influence in the formation of a positive self-concept, this is also influenced by the role of parents, peers and the environment. So at first the self-concept of teenagers marrying young with peers is a negative self-concept, but it develops after marriage into a positive self-concept because they are able to solve their own problems and have participated in their environment.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the marketing strategy of tourism destination the Mas Harun Bastari Lake, Mujerejo Village, Rejang Lebong Regency. The results of the study using a SWOT analysis obtained IFAS values (Strength: 14.30, Weaknesses: 4.81). EFAS Value (Opportunity: 1.31, Treats: 1.08). In the SWOT diagram the values for Strength and Weaknesses are at 9.49 and the meeting point for Opportinity and Threats is at 0.23, this shows that they are in quadrant 1, which supports aggressive strategies, which is a very profitable situation, by taking advantage of opportunities and strengths there is. Marketing strategies for the Lake Mas Harun Bastari tourism destination, Mujerejo Village, Rejang Lebon g Regency that can be done are renovating the lake area, adding facilities such as fishing locations and outbound equipment for visitors, placing security personnel in the lake area, giving permission to the community who will conduct activities on location, making agro tourism that can be enjoyed by visitors at the lake location, making a unique arrangement in the lake area, which differentiates it from other tourist attractions, providing comfort for visitors while in the lake area, adding a playground around the lake area, placing personnel who are always maintain cleanliness of the location, make warning signs around the lake location and put up evacuation signs around the site in the event of a disaster.

Abstract

Watching movie is one of the communication activities. The messages that are found to be interpreted by the audience are known as ideologies. Nowadays, the patriarchal ideology in movies often creates criticism in society. This study examines the representation of gender discrimination and patriarchal culture on movie of Mulan 2020 using a qualitative descriptive method. The data analysis technique used the semiotics of Roland Barthes. The results of the research on movie of Mulan 2020 show the condition of Chinese society in the Tang dynasty, dominated by men and there are restrictions on women's movements. There are four forms of representation of gender discrimination. The results found are subordination, marginalization, stereotypes, and violence. Mulan's character is represented as having freedom which refers to existentialism feminism.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, lectures are simultaneously conducted online. Activities carried out at home also vary, ranging from developing hobbies, exercising, and even shopping online. This study aims to determine the phenomenon of online shopping behavior in the pandemic period (Study on the Shopee Application). Data collection techniques in this study used the interview method. Based on the results of this study, the phenomenon of online shopping behavior is the increasing interest in shopping at Shope during the pandemic. The phenomenon of online shopping behavior at Shopee is influenced by several factors, namely cultural, social, personal and psychological factors. The cultural factor in online shopping on the Shopee application is one of the lifestyles and has metamorphosed into popular culture by students of the Communication study program at the University of Dehasen Bengkulu. Social factors are one of the factors that can affect shopping at Shopee. Through this factor, students use shopee because they interact with their social environment. Then personal factors, Communication students at the University of Dehasen Bengkulu use Shopee to meet their needs. And psychological factors, students use Shopee to get satisfaction in shopping.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how the effective communication of the head of Padang Capo Ilir Village, Lubuk Sandi Sub-District, Seluma Regency in the practice of rural bureaucracy. This study used qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interview and documentation techniques. This study used Effective Communication Theory according to Prijosaksono et al (2002), namely: Respect, Empathy, Audible, Clarity and Humble. Based on the theory used in this research, the research results are obtained: When solving a problem that arises, the head of Padang Capo Ilir Village, Lubuk Sandi Sub-District, Seluma Regency in the Practice of Rural Bureaucracy uses the deliberative method in finding the best solution. The communication that exists between the Head of Padang Capo Ilir Village, Lubuk Sandi Sub-District, Seluma Regency, with Village Officials and the community has been quite well established. This is indicated by the few complaints received, so it can be interpreted that the community is quite satisfied with the services provided by the Village Head and related Village Officials.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how mobile banking is a communication medium for banking services at Bank BTN Bengkulu Branch, using Lasswell theory in Kurniawan (2018:62) which consists of: Who (who is the communicator), say what (what message he states), in which channel (what channel/media is used), to whom (who is the communicant) and whit what effect (the expected effect). This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive design. Data collection techniques in this study are primary data and secondary data. The results show that Who (who is the communicator), the communicator in this study is a mobile banking application at Bank BTN Bengkulu Branch. Say What (what message it states), the message given by the mobile banking application in this study is in the form of sentences or words and numbers desired by customers as mobile banking users of Bank BTN Bengkulu Branch. In Which Channel (What channel/media is used), the media in this study is the media used by customers in the use of mobile banking at Bank BTN Bengkulu Branch, namely the andorid phone. To Whom (Who is the communicant), the communicant in this study is the customer of Bank BTN Bengkulu Branch. Whit What Effect (Expected Effect), the effect in this study is to direct the communicator (application) to communicate according to what the customer wants so that ongoing transactions through the mobile banking application can run successfully and successfully.

Abstract

The emergence of stereotypes about Islamophobia had influenced by the development of the mass media, which can convey the message that Islam is a strict religion and is synonymous with terrorism simultaneously throughout the world. The existence of news with the labeling of symbols embedded in Muslims had attached as an image of terrorists. This study aims to investigate how Islamic signs in society construct Islamophobia. This study uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques used were observation and in-depth interviews. The topics in this study were each three people from an urban and rural region in Bengkulu. The results show that the societal importance of Islamophobia had influenced by negative stereotypes regarding Islamic symbols. The forming process meaning develops in society itself based on direct experience, adaptation, and go by mass media. The created stereotypes lead to negative stigma, where both urban and rural communities experience Islamophobia and have negative perceptions when they see a community using Islamic symbols or attributes. However, some people have the opposite view that not all people or communities with Islamic signs are called terrorists or carriers of heretical teachings and are identical with violence because of the belief that Islam does not teach its people to commit violence against humans. So, it had concluded that Islamic symbols used by a community in certain activities could build a negative stereotype in most people about the Islamic religion that eventually creates Islamophobia in the community.
