Abstract

Knowledge is the key factor and key to preparedness. Preparedness is one part of the disaster management process and in the concept of disaster that is developing today. The objectives of this study include: 1) To determine the level of disaster knowledge in Geography and Public Health Education students.2) To find out the comparison of preparedness attitudes in dealing with disasters between Geography Education and Public Health students.3) To know the difference in the influence of disaster knowledge on preparedness attitudes in dealing with disasters. The method used in this study is a quantitative method. The sampling technique used is the saturated sampling technique or total sampling. The data collection techniques in this study are through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses percentage descriptive analysis, simple linear regression analysis to determine the influence of variable (X) on variable (Y) using the t and R2 test hypothesis test. The results of this study are: 1) The level of disaster knowledge of geography education and public health students is both in the high category, 2) The level of preparedness attitudes of geography and public health education students is both in the high category, 3) The results of hypothesis testing with the t-test and the determination coefficient test, there is a positive influence of disaster knowledge on the attitude of preparedness in dealing with disasters in geography education students and Public Health. This means that the higher the knowledge of disasters, the higher the preparedness attitude of residents in dealing with landslide disasters.

Abstract

The young generation's low concern for the environment and rampant anti-social behavior were reasons for implementing character education, especially in Adiwiyata schools. Strengthening character education in schools was very important. This study aimed to analyze the strengthening of character education at Adiwiyata schools, especially at Keturen 01 State Elementary School Tegal. The research method was qualitative, a type of case study. The subjects were students of class 4 Keturen 01 State Elementary School Tegal. Researchers collected data through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation; he tested the validity of the data using technique and source triangulation. Data analysis included collecting data, sorting data, categorizing the data, and concluding. Based on research results, strengthening character education at Adiwiyata schools was developed based on the environment. Character education was carried out by implementing the dimensions of the Pancasila student profile. Teachers became facilitators in character education in schools, while students were trained and accustomed to thinking and behaving following Pancasila values and caring for the environment. These activities were carried out through learning activities and habituation activities at school. Based on this, the conclusion was that strengthening character education in schools had been going well. Students and teachers could overcome the obstacles.

Abstract

Abstract: One of the challenges in realizing food security in Indonesia is the high rate of population growth which has implications for increasing consumption and decreasing agricultural land area due to land conversion. This study aims to analyze the carrying capacity of food in the Baki Sub-District as an important aspect of regional food security. From the geographical aspect, this study aims to spatially analyze the carrying capacity of food in the Baki Sub-District. Data were collected and analyzed by mathematical formulas to obtain conclusions about the carrying capacity of food. Spatial analysis was carried out using a geographic information system (GIS). The results showed that most of the Baki Sub-District area still has a high food carrying capacity. Areas that have high food carrying capacity are generally located in the southern part of the Baki Sub-District. Village areas close to Surakarta City are affected in the form of regional development, but have an impact on the conversion of agricultural land into residential land, thereby reducing the carrying capacity of food.

Abstract

Environmental problems pose serious challenges, necessitating urgent action to prevent further damage. Implementing environmental education in junior high schools can engage students in maintaining and preventing environmental harm both within schools and communities. This study aims to evaluate how social studies teachers in Junior High Schools in Sukoharjo Regency implement environmental education and identify their obstacles. Employing a qualitative approach, the research describes data obtained through triangulation techniques, with analysis based on the Miles and Huberman model. Findings reveal that, as of 2022, 36 junior high schools in Sukoharjo Regency have been awarded the Adiwiyata program, categorized into four levels: 33 district-level, 21 provincial-level, four national-level, and four independent-level schools. Positive environmental impacts include maintained cleanliness, reduced pollution, and minimized environmental damage. However, challenges persist, such as limited funding, insufficient quality of human resources, and constrained space. These obstacles hinder the effective implementation of environmental education, underscoring the need for targeted support and resources to enhance program effectiveness.
