Abstract

This paper lift up some important issues linked to conflict, ethnicity, and national integra­tion on our world today. Main focus is why conjlict based on ethnic and ethnic identity raised on our world today. The center of criticism will be explored in this paper. Beside, this paper also gives some important notion to maintain nationality owned by the ethnic group, especially Indo­nesia in multiethnic condition which has a big risk and potential of being crashed by ethnic conflict and disintegration.

Abstract

Indonesian labor is a term for low-skilled and unskilled Indonesian citizens who work abroad in employment relations for a certain period of time with wages. Legal protection for Indonesian Workers' Rights has not gone well, the need for guidance on the meaning of labor law for Indonesia, this undermines Indonesian Workforce and eliminates job security for Indonesian workers while abroad, the obstacles to implementing Indonesian legal protection for workers are mistakes that conducted by Indonesia, namely Manpower does not report problems to the Government of Indonesia in connection with the employment of Indonesian Workers. The purpose of this research is to find out more clearly and broadly about the protection of Indonesian workers working abroad who are carried out by the terrace of the Ministry of Placement of Protection of Indonesian Workers in North Sumatra Province. The method carried out in this study is descriptive qualitative methods related to data collection and identification. Data analysis method uses data reduction and research instruments, namely interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the Indonesian Labor Protection Placement Service has carried out its duties with the policy of Law No. 39 of 2004 concerning the placement and protection of Indonesian workers abroad. In carrying out its duties there are obstacles faced in providing legal protection to the state labor force.

Abstract

Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk membandingkan teori John Rawls dan Will Kymlicka mengenai keberagaman warga negara dalam prinsip liberalisme. Meskipun sama-sama meletakkan prinsip dasarnya pada liberalisme, namun dua teori ini memiliki cara yang berbeda dalam memandang keadilan, kebebasan, dan hak-hak warga negara. Oleh karena itu, perlu ditawarkan sebuah solusi untuk menghapus celah keberagaman warga negara dalam prinsip liberalisme, yakni dengan membentuk kewarganegaraan multidimensional abad 21. Artikel ini disusun dengan menggunakan metode library research, yakni metode pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan sumber dan bahan kepustakaan. Hasil dan kesimpulan yang diperoleh ialah keberagaman dalam pandangan Rawls hanya berfungsi apabila mendukung politik liberalisme, sedangkan dalam pandangan Kymlicka keberagaman sebagai elemen dasar dalam politik multikulturalisme. Teori keadilan Rawls terbagi dalam 2 jenis, yakni hak warga negara untuk mengakses sistem sosial yang sesuai dengan kebebasan bagi seluruh orang dan adanya ketimpangan sosial dan ekonomi untuk memberi manfaat orang yang kurang beruntung, Sedangkan Kymlicka memandang keadilan apabila kelompok minoritas mendapat hak untuk melakukan pembatasan interanl dan perlindungan eksternal. Penekanan Rawls terhadap pentingnya warga negara kembali ke original position justru menghambat warga negara menyadari hak-hak budayanya. Oleh karena itu, Kymlicka membagi hak menjadi 2 macam, yakni hak perorangan dan hak kolektif yang dibedakan. Terakhir, untuk menghapus celah tersebut maka fokus diarahkan ke pembentukan karakter warga negara multidimensional abad 21, yakni: dimensi personal, sosial, ruang, dan waktu.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to examine Thomas Lickona's theories about how to be a good citizen or a good character of citizens. This article was compiled using the library research method, namely the method of data collection carried out by utilizing library resources and materials. The results obtained that a person can be said to be a good citizen if he is able to carry out his duties and obligations properly in living life as a citizen. To create a good character of citizens and answer challenges and opportunities for global life, a new paradigm of education is needed. Global Civic Education is the fastest form of education reform in the current era. Global Citizenship Education is considered as one of the subjects that can prepare global citizens to be able to understand various global problems. Global citizenship education basically has a very good goal to create an equal perception of the duties, rights and obligations of citizens in carrying out the duties of being good citizens and not to distinguish between equality of race, ethnicity, culture, religion or groups that are equally have human rights.

Abstract

This study identifies Tan Malaka's ideas in the perspective of Civic Education by exploring his great idea of  Gerpolek which had published in a book. The published book supported by several other works, then analyzed in the context of Citizenship Education. Based on the results of the study shows that each of Tan Malaka's revolutionary ideas from the perspective of Citizenship Education has real contribution in the relation to build citizenship and the state, whether it seen from the context of nationalism, economics, politics, and human rights. Through Citizenship Education, it is appropriate that Tan Malaka placed in line with the national founders. His work becomes a reference in order to build the nation for the better future.

Abstract

Conflict resolution is needed by society, especially in Indonesia, which has a diverse culture; it is inherent in the culture. Conflict resolution based on local wisdom is needed to create peace in society because it always strives to produce decisions that are win-win solutions. This research examines the importance and role of local wisdom as a form of conflict resolution in society and examines the role of the Pengituai Kuta in Pakpak culture as a conflict resolution method. This research is qualitative research with a case study approach conducted in Matanari Hamlet, Ujung Teran Village, Dairi Regency, North Sumatra. The data collection techniques used were semi-structured interviews, observation, and literature study. The subject of information in this study consisted of three people, namely one member of Pengituai Kuta Matanari (JM) and the Head of Matanari Hamlet (PP), and Cultural Practitioner or Humanist Pakpak (LB). According to Miles and Huberman’s model, the data is processed, which includes the collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. This finding shows that the Pengituai Kuta has an essential and influential role in resolving horizontal conflicts in Matanari Hamlet. The local wisdom of the Indonesian people already has conflict resolution systems and methods. In Pakpak culture, Pengituai Kuta refers to representatives of community leaders who are considered experienced and exemplary. Every conflict is resolved by deliberation-consensus (runggu) in an open, egalitarian, and full of brotherhood.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is analyzing the distribution of oportunities for educational during pandemic covid 19. This paper is a qualitative research by presenting data descriptively, the data collection method is literature study. The data analysis technique used in this study was to collect data which was then reduced. The results of this study show education is the key to successfully managing human resources, including efforts to prevent lost generations if not handled properly. Through this paper, using a literature study method that analyzes the fulfillment of the rights of students to get a proper education during a pandemic. The results can be explained that education is both a right and an obligation of a citizen, these rights and obligations are reciprocal, so efforts are needed from both parties. The author also describes several examples of policies to fulfill education equity during the pandemic, this is an effort to cover technical and substance deficiencies in the implementation of education in Indonesia. In addition, the author analyzes various educational problems that occurred during the pandemic, and describes the various policies implemented to overcome these problems.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the border situation in East Kobalima District, East Nusa Tenggara, which is far from the reach of the government. The low development potential in the border region triggers problems that affect the sense of nationalism. The method used is a qualitative approach type case study. This article discusses the welfare approach as a strategy implemented by the Border Management Agency of the East Nusa Tenggara Province to strengthen the nationalism of the border communities. The welfare approach implemented includes 1) infrastructure develop- ment and improvement; and 2) improving community welfare. Through a welfare approach, the community feels the presence of the state so that it can strengthen the spirit of nationalism and greater citizen loyalty to maintain the existence of Indonesianism in the border region.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.17977/um019v3i12018p081

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan 1.) Bagaimana implementasi; 2.) Faktor pendukung; 3.) Hambatan dalam implementasi nilai-nilai multikultural dalam pembelajaran PKn di MA Ali Maksum Krapyak Yogyakarta. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan kualitatif. Penentuan subjek dengan purposive. Teknik pengumpulan data observasi, dokumentasi, wawancara. Keabsahan data diperoleh dengan teknik trianggulasi sumber. Teknik analisis dengan reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa implementasi dilakukan dengan dua tataran: a.) Konseptual melalui visi, misi, tujuan, sedangkan b.) Operasional melalui pertama perencanaan pembelajaran, kedua pelaksanaan pembelajaran melalui: 1.) Menanamkan nilai untuk bersikap toleransi, menghargai, demokrasi, keadilan, kese-taraan dan menghormati keragaman; 2.) Metode yang demokratis, kooperatif dan bervariasi; 3.) Materi yang diajarkan mengandung wawasan keragaman, persitiwa dan masalah sosial; 4.) Melatih peserta didik untuk memecahkan masalah-masalah sosial; dan 5.) Media pembelajaran dengan media yang bervariasi. Ketiga evaluasi pembelajaran. Faktor-fakor pendukung adalah peran kepala sekolah, peran guru, kurikulum sekolah, media pembelajaran, kegiatan dan program sekolah, iklim sekolah, dan peserta didik. Hambatan yaitu kurangnya kesiapan dan kesadaran peserta didik, kurangnya sarana dan prasarana, dan minimnya ruang untuk melakukan refleksi. AbstractThis research aims to reveal 1.) How the implementation; 2.) Factor supporting; 3.) Obstacles for the implementation of values multicultural in teaching Pkn in MA Ali Maksum Krapyak Yogyakarta. Approach the research uses qualitative. The determination of the subject with the purposive. Technique data collection observation, documentation, interview. The validity of data is collected to technique trianggulasi source. Technique analysis by reduction data, cereal offering data, and the withdrawal of drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the implementation of be done with two landscape a.) conceptual through vision, mission, the purpose and b.) operational through first planning learning. Second presentation weighting through; 1.) Imparting value to be tolerance, appreciate, democracy, justice, equality and respecting diversity; 2.) The method of democratic, cooperative and vary; 3.) The materials given containing insight diversity, 3 and a social issue; 4.) Train school tuition to tackle problems social; and 5.) The media teaching to the media varying. Third evaluation teaching. Supporting factor-factor is the role of the head school, the teacher, school curriculum, media teaching, activities and school program, climate school, and school tuition. Obstacles that is lack of readiness and awareness school tuition, lack of facilities and infrastructure, and inadequate room to make reflection.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges of citizenship issues in preparing Indonesia's golden generation in 2045. This research is content analysis research with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation and tracing documents and archives. The results show great challenges of Indonesian as a state in terms of maintaining the foundational philosophical theory of Pancasila. This determines the importance of a study of civic education as the spearhead in preparing the generation that will inherit the nation and state of Indonesia. In 2045, Indonesia expects to have a golden generation. This of course requires Indonesian as a state to prepare its human resources, namely the younger generation, to face this momentum well. The golden generation of Indonesia is expected to be a generation that is tough, thinks forward, and always upholds the values of Pancasila. The golden generation of Indonesia in 2045 is the hope for the future of the nation. Civics as a subject in school has a paramount role in preparing Indonesia’s golden generation in 2045. Civics must be able to solve challenges such as intolerance, the ideology of other nations, and globalization. The prospect of civic education is being promoted as a panacea for solving problems that exist in Indonesia as a nation.
