Abstract

Some people in Tete Batu Selatan Village, especially Otak Bangket Hamlet, have creative handmade products that have difficulty in packaging and marketing. Even though the village government has provided sufficient support such as MSME training and product outreach to visitors, these two things have not been able to increase visitors' purchasing power and of course the local community's income. This community service aims to assist the community to package and market their products with modern packaging and digital-based marketing. The implication of this assistance is that, little by little, people are starting to realize the importance of attractive packaging and the use of social media as a place to market their products. So, with this packaging and marketing strategy, many visitors are interested in buying their creative products from low to high prices.

Abstract

Empowering village libraries through reading corners is a crucial strategy to support increased literacy among the community, particularly among elementary school students living in rural areas. Based on initial observations conducted in Jetis Village, Besuki District, Situbondo Regency, it was found that the low reading interest among elementary school students was caused by limited reading facilities and a lack of available reading materials. The suboptimal utilization of the existing library space in the village exacerbated this condition. Pengabdi took the initiative to establish a reading corner as part of an effort to enhance the village library. This activity was carried out through the PAR (Participatory Action Research) method involving lecturers, students, teachers, the village government, and the community. The reading corner not only aims to increase access to reading materials but also creates a comfortable, interesting, and conducive learning atmosphere. The results of this activity showed that the presence of a reading corner can increase student visits to the library and gradually encourage reading interest. This program successfully built a strong foundation for the development of village libraries as centers for community learning activities. Going forward, this next program will require cross-stakeholder collaboration to ensure collection maintenance, improve the quality of reading materials, and actively involve the community in promoting a reading culture. Therefore, the reading corner is an effective solution for improving literacy among elementary school students in Jetis Village.

Abstract

This research is development research that aims to produce Student Worksheets (LKS) with a valid and practical contextual approach so that it is suitable for use in the learning process on arithmetic and geometric sequences. The development design used in this study is the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages, namely 1) the analysis stage, 2) the planning stage, 3) the development stage, 4) the implementation stage, and 5) the evaluation stage. Based on the data analysis results, the following results were obtained (1) the level of validity got a score of 3.3 with very valid validity criteria, (2) the level of practicality got a score of 3.9, with efficient criteria of practicality. Therefore, it can be concluded that the developed worksheets meet the good criteria so that they are suitable to be used as one of the teaching materials that can be used in Arithmetic and Geometry Sequences.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of 1-dimensional kinematics concepts through a multi-representation approach. A total of 42 physics teacher candidates participated in this study, which used a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design. The instrument used was 18 multiple-choice questions that included various concept representations, such as mathematical, graphical, tabular, pictorial, and verbal. The results showed a significant increase in students' concept understanding after the application of multi-representation learning. The pretest mean score was 44.44, which increased to 89.81 on the posttest, with an n-gain of 0.81 (high category). The paired sample t-test showed a significant difference between the pretest and post-test (Sig. 2-tailed = 0.000). The multi-representation approach allows students to understand concepts from various points of view, helps reduce misconceptions, and supports various learning styles. However, this study has limitations in the design of feedback and formative assessment, which are important to improve in future research to strengthen the effectiveness of learning.

Abstract

Children's language is unique and has its own characteristics. It’s unique because the utterance children produce has hidden meanings that are not understood. In this line, when a child asks something, it does not mean that the child is asking, but it could be that the meaning of the utterance is requesting something. This research was intended to discover the types and function in a child’s utterances that were found in the movie. It was descriptive qualitative research. The data in this study was in the form of an utterance used by a child in The Sea Beast. The illocutionary acts theory was used to answer the questions of this research. It includes the theory proposed by Searle (1976). Based on the analysis, the researcher found a directive illocutionary acts as one of characteristics of a child language. It is found the act function to express what the speaker wants such as requesting, asking, begging, commanding, advising, warning, inviting, and suggesting. As well as asking act is most commonly found in this function. Keywords: a child’s utterances, directive, illocutionary acts

Abstract

Fenomena kebiasaan begadang di kalangan atlet semakin meningkat seiring dengan padatnya aktivitas latihan dan penggunaan gawai hingga larut malam, yang berdampak negatif terhadap performa olahraga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kebiasaan begadang terhadap performa fisik, aspek psikologis, serta kemampuan kognitif atlet olahraga. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif-korelasional, melibatkan 100 atlet aktif dari Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) olahraga di tiga universitas negeri di Jawa Timur. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner kebiasaan tidur yang dimodifikasi dari Athlete Sleep Behavior Questionnaire (ASBQ), tes daya tahan anaerobik, serta instrumen Profile of Mood States (POMS) dan Digit Symbol Substitution Test (DSST) untuk mengukur aspek psikologis dan kognitif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebiasaan begadang berpengaruh negatif secara signifikan terhadap ketiga dimensi yang diuji. Atlet dengan durasi tidur kurang dari 6 jam mengalami penurunan daya tahan fisik rata-rata sebesar 18%, tingkat motivasi dan suasana hati yang lebih rendah, serta penurunan fokus dan konsentrasi hingga 21% dibandingkan atlet yang tidur cukup. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kebiasaan begadang dapat mengganggu pemulihan fisiologis, menurunkan stabilitas emosional, dan melemahkan fungsi kognitif yang penting dalam performa kompetitif. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya manajemen pola tidur dalam pembinaan prestasi atlet melalui pendekatan edukatif dan intervensi kebersihan tidur (sleep hygiene).
