Abstract

DEVELOPMENT OF LECTURERS COMPETENCIES THROUGH THE SOCIALIZATION OF THE SEMESTER LEARNING PLAN (RPS) ERA OF INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION 4.0. This socialization activity is an activity carried out in the Automotive Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University. This service activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of lecturers in compiling RPS in accordance with the demands of the world today. This is to make it easier for lecturers to plan, compile RPS and evaluate learning oriented in the 4.0 revolution era. This activity was attended by 24 lecturers majoring in automotive engineering. In this socialization activity, it was explained how to prepare RPS in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 and also to develop lecturer competence because making RPS is the obligation of lecturers in preparing for the learning process later. The data shows a lack of interest from lecturers in compiling and developing RPS. There are also data results that show the lack of student motivation in learning activities which is part of the readiness of the lecturers themselves in completing learning tools. The method used is science and technology substitution by offering a new, more modern science and technology than the old one. The final result is that the overall service activity process has been considered quite good and useful for automotive engineering majors and is important to be developed as part of the completeness of learning tools.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian untuk menguji validitas, reliabilitas, indeks kesukaran, dan daya beda soal tes untuk mahasiswa. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa jurusan Teknik Otomotif UNP sebanyak 28 orang. Sampel penelitian dipilih dengan teknik total sampling sehingga keseluruhan populasi menjadi sampel penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan dokumentasi yaitu berupa pemberian dan pengumpulan soal tes; kunci jawaban; dan lembar jawaban soal tes. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil analisis data menghasilkan tingkat validitas, reliabilitas, indeks kesukaran, dan daya beda soal tes. Hasil analisis data yaitu soal tes kategori valid, indeks reliabilitas soal pada kriteria reliabilitas tinggi, indeks kesukaran dengan kategori butir soal baik/layak, dan daya pembeda butir soal termasuk klasifikasi soal yang baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka disimpulkan bahwa soal tes yang diberikan kepada mahasiswa layak untuk digunakan sebagai salah satu tes untuk mengukur kemampuan kognitif mahasiswa. AbstractThe purpose of the research was to see the level of validity, reliability, index of difficulty, and differentiating power of student test questions. The research population were 28 students majoring in Automotive Engineering of UNP. The research sample was selected using a total sampling technique, so that the entire population became the research sample. Data collection techniques used documentation in the form of giving and collecting test questions; answer key; and the answer sheet for the test. Data analysis used quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of data analysis will produce levels of validity, reliability, index of difficulty, and differentiating power of test questions. The results of the data analysis concluded that the test items were in the valid category, the reliability index of the questions on the criteria of high reliability, the difficulty index with the category of good/decent items, and the discriminating power of the items including the good classification of questions. Based on the results of the research, it was concluded that the test questions given to students deserved to be used as a test to measure students' cognitive abilities.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi dan kompetensi mengajar dosen terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah ex post facto. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Teknik Otomotif Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Padang yang mengambil mata kuliah Motor Bensin. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 93 orang. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 76 orang yang dipilih menggunakan teknik proportional sampling. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi dan kompetensi mengajar dosen secara bersama-sama tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa. AbstractThe purpose of the research was to determine the effect of motivation and teaching competence of lecturers on student learning outcomes. The type of research used ex post facto. The research subjects were students of Automotive Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Padang who took the Gasoline Motor course. The research population amounted to 93 people. The research sample amounted to 76 people who were selected using proportional sampling technique. The data collection tool used a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used regression test. The results showed that the motivation and teaching competence of lecturers had no significant effect on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Kegiatan berwirausaha dalam membangun bengkel sepeda motor di daerah Parupuk Tabing, Padang, Sumatera Barat sangat perlu di realisasikan dan diaplikasikan kepada tuna karya khususnya. Permasalahan yang terjadi adalah banyaknya pemuda putus sekolah yang tidak mempunyai kerja dan susah untuk bersaing dalam dunia kerja. Tujuan dari kegiatan pelatihan di tempat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan minat usaha berwirausaha dalam membuka bengkel sepeda motor secara mandiri. Solusi yang ditawarkan oleh tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat, Jurusan Teknik Otomotif, FT-UNP adalah melakukan pelatihan kepada masyarakat baik itu pengetahuan, keterampilan dalam membuka lapangan pekerjaan khususnya wirausaha bengkel sepeda motor secara mandiri. Metode yang digunakan adalah observasi, pendekatan sosial, pelaksanaan kegiatan dan evaluasi kegiatan pelatihan. Materi yang diangkat dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah pengenalan sepeda motor, overhoul sepeda motor konvensional dan injeksi, tune-up dan sistem CVT. Hasil dari kegiatan pelatihan adalah peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pemuda tuna karya mengenai perawatan dan perbaikan sepeda motor. Rasa antusias dalam mengembangkan pengetahuan dan rasa ingin membuka bengkel secara mandiri untuk meningkatkan perekonomian. Tim memberikan hibah perlengkapan alat bengkel berupa kunci-kunci baik kunci umum yang digunakan maupun special tool yang digunakan pada jasa bengkel sepeda motor. Dilain hal juga dihibahkan alat penambal ban serta kompressor.

Abstract

Alumni data collection activities as material for recapitulating the data needed as the completeness of accreditation documents and performance evaluation documents for tertiary institutions. This will not be achieved if the data collection is still using manual methods such as contacting the graduates one by one. This activity will take up time and the data that has been collected so far is not optimal. The purpose of conducting this research is to develop information technology in tracing graduates using the Google form at the product validity testing stage. This research is development research using 4D models. The validation test was carried out at the development stage, for this reason, the research was limited to the product development phase only. The instrument used for the validation test is in the form of a validity questionnaire for the product being developed. Questionnaires will be distributed and then the product will be validated based on the statements that have been prepared beforehand. The validators who validate the product are 4 expert lecturers. The assessment is carried out based on material aspects and media aspects. The results of product research developed with an information technology approach are in the valid category. Not until this stage, the product that has been declared valid, then revised again based on suggestions by experts. It is hoped that after obtaining validation data for the product, the next step is to carry out practicality tests and effectiveness tests so that the product can be disseminated and can be used in education, especially in the graduate study tracer at the Department of Automotive Engineering FT-UNP

Abstract

Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif korelasi dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui Tingkat pengetahuan K3, dan kedisiplinan siswa kelas XI TKR dalam melaksanakan praktikum, Pengaruh pengetahuan K3 terhadap kedisiplinan siswa saat melaksanakan praktikum di bengkel otomotif SMK Negeri 5 Padang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes dan kuesioner/angket. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah Analisis deskripsi data dan analisis statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, 1) Tingkat pengetahuan K3 berada dalam kategori cukup dengan persentase 77,30% 2) Tingkat kedisiplinan siswa dalam melaksanakan praktikum dinilai memuaskan atau baik dengan persentase 82,56% 3) Tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara pengetahuan K3 terhadap kedisiplinan siswa dalam melaksanakan praktikum dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0.564 karena 0.564 > 0.05.  This research is a descriptive correlational research with a quantitative approach which aims to determine the level of K3 knowledge, and the discipline of class XI TKR students in carrying out practicums. Data collection techniques used are tests and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is data description analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The research results obtained, 1) The level of K3 knowledge is in the sufficient category with a percentage of 77.30% 2) The level of discipline of students in carrying out practicums is considered satisfactory or good with a percentage of 82.56% 3) There is no significant effect between OSH knowledge on discipline students in carrying out practical work with a significance value of 0.564 because 0.564 > 0.05.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas evaluasi kelayakan sarana dan prasarana pembelajaran Teknik Sepeda Motor di SMK Swasta Pembina Bangsa Bukittinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan data dari wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasilnya menunjukkan kualitas sarana dan prasarana memiliki tingkat kelayakan berbeda. Prasarana ruang praktik hanya mencapai skor 33%, khususnya luas ruangan, kapasitas penyimpanan, dan kapasitas peserta didik yang belum sesuai standar. Sementara itu, sarana ruang praktik mendapatkan skor 58%, dengan perabot, peralatan, media pendidikan, dan perlengkapan pendukung yang hampir sesuai standar. Kesimpulannya, diperlukan perbaikan dan peningkatan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran praktik di SMK ini, termasuk peningkatan luas ruangan, kapasitas penyimpanan, dan kapasitas peserta didik sesuai standar. Perawatan dan pemeliharaan sarana-prasarana juga penting. Perbaikan ini diharapkan akan meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran Teknik Sepeda Motor di SMKS PB. Jadi prasarana ruang praktik TSM dikategorikan kurang layak dengan persentase 33 %, sedangkan tingkat kelayakan sarana praktik TSM dikategorikan  layak dengan persentase 58%.    This article evaluates the educational facilities and infrastructure for Motorcycle Engineering at the Pembina Bangsa Private Vocational School in Bukittinggi. This study employs a descriptive approach and collects data through interviews, observation, and documentation. The outcomes demonstrate that the quality of facilities and infrastructure varies in terms of practicability. The practical room infrastructure received a score of 33%, with the spaciousness, storage capacity, and pupil capacity failing to meet expectations. In contrast, the practice room facilities receive a score of 58%, with furniture, equipment, educational media, and auxiliary equipment nearly up to par. To enhance the quality of practical learning in this SMK, it is necessary to increase the room's size, storage capacity, and student capacity by established criteria. Infrastructure maintenance and care are also essential. This enhancement is anticipated to enhance the efficacy of Motorcycle Engineering education at SMKS PB. Consequently, 33% of the TSM practice room infrastructure is deemed inadequate, whereas 58% of the TSM practice facilities are deemed feasible.

Abstract

Pendidikan tinggi dalam era modern ini telah mengalami perubahan mendasar akibat perkembangan teknologi dan perubahan paradigma pembelajaran melalui metode pembelajaran daring. Metode ini memanfaatkan platform digital untuk memberikan materi pembelajaran secara fleksibel, memungkinkan akses tanpa batasan ruang dan waktu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif yang bersifat korelasional untuk mengungkapkan korelasi metode pembelajaran daring (X) terhadap hasil belajar pada mahasiswa Departemen Teknik Otomotif Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Padang (Y). Hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan hubungan positif antara metode belajar daring dan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Nilai Koefisien korelasi Pearson sebesar 0.429 menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif antara kedua variabel dan berada pada taraf Korelasi Sedang.    Higher education in the modern era has undergone a fundamental transformation due to technological advancements and a shift in the learning paradigm through online learning methods. This method utilizes digital platforms to deliver learning materials flexibly, allowing access without spatial or temporal limitations. This study is a quantitative descriptive research with a correlational nature, aiming to reveal the correlation between online learning methods (X) and learning outcomes among students in the Automotive Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Padang (Y). The results of this research reveal a positive relationship between online learning methods and student learning outcomes. The Pearson correlation coefficient value of 0.429 indicates a moderate positive correlation between the two variables.

Abstract

Hole injector memiliki peran terhadap campuran bahan bakar di ruang bakar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan hole injector variasi terhadap konsumsi bahan bakar, top speed, dan emisi gas buang pada sepeda motor type matic. Metode eksperimen dilakukan dengan membandingkan penggunaan hole injector standar (6 lubang) dan hole injector variasi (8 lubang). Data penelitian secara langsung diambil dari kinerja sepeda motor Honda Beat Street kemudian disajikan dengan metode deskriptif persentase. Hasil penelitian berupa konsumsi bahan bakar, top speed, dan emisi gas buang berhasil diperoleh dan dianalisa lebih lanjut. Dari analisa dapat disimpulkan bahwa injector variasi 8 lubang memiliki hasil yang tidak baik karena konsumsi bahan bakar menjadi boros dan peningkatan emisi gas buang. Sehingga penggunaan injector ini tidak direkomendasikan untuk digunakan pada sepeda motor matic. Hole injectors have a role in the fuel mixture in the combustion chamber. This study aims to determine the usage of hole injector variations on fuel consumption, top speed, and exhaust emissions on matic type motorbikes. The experimental method was carried out by comparing the use of standard hole injectors (6 holes) and hole injector variations (8 holes). Research data was directly taken from the performance of Honda Beat Street motorbike and then presented with descriptive percentage method. The research results in the form of fuel consumption, top speed, and exhaust emissions were successfully obtained and further analyzed. From the analyses it can be concluded that the 8-hole variation injector has poor results due to wasteful fuel consumption and increased exhaust emissions. So the use of this injector is not recommended for use on matic motorbikes.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to find out the influence of discussion methods using zoom applications during the covid-19 pandemic on the results of learning brake steering courses and suspensions in the Department of Automotive Engineering Faculty of Engineering, State University of Padang. This study consisted of two sample classes, of which one class was an experimental class of 17 people and another class of 17 people as a control class. Discussion methods using zoom apps taught in experimental classes, while the control class without using the zoom-assisted discussion method, control class uses only e-learning platform as experimental class also uses. Sampling research using incidental sampling techniques. Data analysis to test hypotheses using T-test. Before the data is analyzed, conducted in advance descriptive analysis and test of analysis requirements (homogeneity test and normality test). The results prove that there is an influence of discussion methods using zoom applications on the learning outcomes of brake steering courses and suspensions. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas sampel, dimana satu kelas merupakan kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 17 orang dan satu kelas lagi berjumlah 17 orang sebagai kelas kontrol. Metode diskusi menggunakan aplikasi zoom diajarkan pada kelas eksperimen, sedangkan kelas kontrol tanpa menggunakan metode diskusi berbantu zoom, kelas kontrol hanya menggunakan platform e-learning sebagaimana kelas eksperimen juga menggunakannya. Pengambilan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik sampling incidental. Analisis data untuk menguji hipotesis menggunakan uji-T. Sebelum data dianalisis, dilakukan terlebih dahulu analisis deskriptif dan uji persyaratan analisis (uji homogenitas dan uji normalitas). Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh metode diskusi menggunakan aplikasi zoom terhadap hasil belajar mata kuliah kemudi rem dan suspensi.
