Abstract

Abstrak Tulisan membahas tentang transportasi ibadah haji di masa pemerintahan Hindia Belanda pada tahun 1911-1930 M. Tujuan riset ini adalah untuk mengetahui kondisi transportasi haji, baik dalam arti ekonomis maupun sebagai sarana pendukung bagi perjalanan haji yang ada di pelabuhan Batavia. Metode yang digunakan adalah kajian kualitatif, sementara data diperoleh melalui penelusuran literatur dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis ini didasarkan pada teknik heuristik, verifikasi, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa ada sebuah ironi terkait dengan kebijakan pemerintah kolonial terkait dengan aturan transportasi yang termuat dalam Ordonansi Hajj tahun 1898 – 1922 yang menekankan pada aspek kesehatan fasilitas ibadah. Pembahasan terkait transportasi ibadah haji ini menunjukkan bahwa Pemerintah Hindia Belanda sebenarnya tidak memberikan pelayanan dalam perjalanan ibadah haji, kecuali hanya mementingkan aspek ekonomi saja. Kesimpulan ini diambil berdasarkan fakta bahwa banyak jamaah haji yang sakit dan meninggal dalam kapal angkutan milik pemerintah Hindia Belanda. Kapal ini tidak dilengkapi fasilitas yang memadai dan kabin yang tidak layak untuk perjalanan jauh. The purpose of writing this research to determine the conditions transportation of pilgrims both in terms ofeconomic, as well as of supporting facilities above pilgrims hajjships available at the port of Batavia. The method used in this study is qualitative. While data collection is done through literature research and documentation. This data analysis technique based on heuristic techniques, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The findings of this study is an irony between the colonial government policy for transportation improvements embodied in Ordinance Hajj pilgrimage in 1898 to 1922 which it prioritizes health facilities worshipers. This discussion of the findings in the transportation of pilgrims produced that belonged to the Dutch East Indies in the dynamics can not serve pilgrims journey to the maximum and is only concerned with the economic aspects alone. Thus it can be concluded because often was found pilgrims are sick and even died in the course of the ships belonging to the Dutch East Indies Hajj, because Hajj ships is in the know of inadequate facilities and the rooms were not comfortable for long journeys pilgrims. Abstract

This paper discusses the ports and government policy particularly in the transition of the central port of colonial period of the old port of Batavia to the port of Tanjung Priok Year 1887-1930. The aim of this research is to understand the colonial response to the development of international shipping world, which impact on the colonial economy. Here, the position of the Dutch East Indies must dare to take the policy to change the trading center is no longer in the Port near the old city but must move to the east of Batavia namely Tanjung Priok.The method used in this research is qualitative. While the data collection is done through literature research and documentation. This data analysis technique based on heuristic techniques, verification, interpretation, and historiography. Based on the research conducted, it is found that the removal of port from the old town of Batavia to Tanjung Priok which allegedly the Dutch East Indies economic actors will not grow because of the rarity of people living around the harbor. The facts in the field of Tanjung Priok developed into the largest international port in the territory of the Indies Netherlands.The results show that the development of the harbor east of Batavia is at the center of the old city portographic port of Batavia which has high sedimentation of large ships unable to dock to the port. The Tanjung Priok central port is growing on the basis of a colonial annual report of the vast number of outposts with 20 other countries that have their homecoming in the Port.

Abstract

Memajukan kebudayaan nasional merupakan tugas bagi pemerintah Indonesia sejak dicapainya kemerdekaan nasional dan disahkannya UUD 1945. Penulisan ini berfokus pada realisasi pemerintah yang baru berdiri dalam mewujudkan kebudayaan nasional sekaligus memopulerkan kehidupan budaya, khususnya dalam bidang seni, di Kota Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri dari pemilihan topik, heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa meskipun pada masa ini peran pemerintah masih sangat kecil namun usaha-usaha tersebut tetap ada dan terlihat. Program dari Jawatan Kebudayaan dan Kementerian PP dan K seperti mengadakan sayembara seni rupa dan pameran menunjukkan hal tersebut. Pemerintah juga memberikan bantuan materiil kepada kelompok seniman aktif di Medan seperti ASRI 45 dan Jajasan Budaja.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper discusses the differential social structure activities of Dutch Businessmen or VOC, Chinese Klontong and Javanese Shipowners. After the disintegration of the Mataram Kingdom in the 18th century, it had an impact on the economic activities of the middle class of non-European traders on the North Coast of Java. The decline of the maritime trade situation in the 17th century in Southeast Asia in general and in Java in particular was caused by the VOC's military economic monopoly intervention pattern and agrarian kingdoms that did not pay attention to trade shipping. This writing uses a qualitative method with a socio-historical approach. This writing uses Mahan's theory that a strong maritime state must have a strong navy. This can be seen how the VOC maximized the military potential of its navy in dominating trade shipping on the North Coast of Java. Since then Java has been characterized by a rejection of the weak merchant class. The king of Java's choice to pull the economic center to the south also influenced the VOC's trade dominance on Java's North Coast. However, the economic pressure of the VOC slowly led to the emergence of a middle class that came from outside the rule of the royal class. This middle class was filled by Madurese captains alongside Javanese Nahkoda, as well as Chinese merchants, for the latter were considered tenacious despite often having strong trade relations with the Dutch or the VOC marking the discourse on the dynamics of trade and shipping in port cities on the North Coast of Java. Abstract

ABSTRACT I begin this article with admiration for the success of Surau in Minangkabau in maintaining itself as a traditional educational institution in the era of modernization. Surau as an educational institution in Minangkabau remains an integral part of the collective memory of the Minang people as a whole. This paper wants to see how the tradition of Minangkabau people in maintaining the spirit of Surau since the Colonial period to the Modern era and see the pressure of power on the existence of Surau which gave birth to many National figures and Ulama'. The method in this writing uses a qualitative methodology with a historical approach method by collecting data through literature studies. In the data found, the word surau spreads outside in Indonesia and Malaysia, which in daily life is a small building whose main use is for congregational prayer for the surrounding community. In West Sumatra, Surau not only has an educational and worship function, but also has a cultural function. Surau is thought to have existed before Islam came to West Sumatra. It only functions as an application of their culture. Surau in the customary system of community culture belongs to the people, tribe. Furthermore, after Islam entered, the process of Islamization was carried out in all aspects, including cultural institutions. The same thing also applies to pesantren. Seeing the complexity of the problems of Surau educational institutions must also understand the flow of conflict between the Young and the Old. As seen, the Ulama of the Young as a symbol of Islamic renewal openly criticized the practices of the Ulama of the Old who occupied surau-surau. Abstract

Mangunharjo Beach, Semarang, is not just a beach, but there are residents who contribute to every development that combines natural beauty, the latest technology, and the spirit of mutual cooperation, this beach is transformed into a living laboratory to realize the concept of Society 5.0. The purpose of this study is to determine the extent of the scientific renewal of the Mangunharjo community. The study was conducted by analyzing field surveys of groups of people who were carried out randomly. With the contribution of the community, coastal cities, community concerns and community pressure, In addition to the digitalization of smart cities, this location inspires to create a better future, technology is not just a tool, but also a bridge to connect humans and nature.

Abstract

This writing aims to explain how to understand the political crisis in the 1997 election and the economic and business views ahead of the elections. This research uses a historical method involving topic selection, collection of historical sources or heuristics, verification of historical sources, interpretation, and historiography. This research shows that 1997 created a political crisis in various regions in Indonesia, such as Yogyakarta, Banjarmasin, and Madura, as well as economic concerns among various elements. This was manifested with violence and people resistance that resulted in loss of life due to people's dissatisfaction with the government. The economic situation during the political crisis leading to the 1997 election caused reactions from the government, academic researchers, and businesspeople who wanted the country's stability. On the government side, President Soeharto and academics such as Mari Pangestu were optimistic regarding the economy ahead of the election. Meanwhile, conglomerate Sofyan Wanandi was more careful about the election process. It can be concluded that the violence and riots during the 1997 election campaign gave rise to various views and discourses regarding the national economy from various elements.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan budaya ilmiah di kalangan santri dengan memberikan Pelatihan Penelitian dan Penulisan Sejarah di Pondok Pesantren Bina Insani dan Pondok Pesantren Al-Muhtada Kota Semarang. Para peserta, yang terdiri dari mahasiswa yang tinggal di pondok pesantren, berasal dari berbagai latar belakang akademis yang beragam dengan eksposur yang terbatas pada studi sejarah. Pelatihan ini berfokus pada penguatan kemampuan penelitian sejarah dengan menggunakan pendekatan interdisipliner, yang mencakup perspektif ekonomi, sosial-budaya, dan sosial-politik. Melalui lokakarya dan dialog yang menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan tugas berbasis proyek, para dosen sejarah memperkenalkan berbagai metode penelitian sejarah dan mendorong pemikiran kritis dalam menganalisis realitas sosial. Meskipun ada tantangan dalam memahami fenomena sejarah melalui lensa multidisiplin, para peserta menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan dalam menganalisis sumber-sumber lisan dan tulisan, motivasi yang lebih tinggi untuk menulis artikel ilmiah, dan pembentukan kelompok-kelompok penelitian sejarah di pesantren. Mengakses sumber-sumber digital terbukti membantu dalam mengatasi kesulitan dalam mengkaji peristiwa sejarah dari perspektif yang menyeluruh. Pengabdian masyarakat ini berhasil mempromosikan budaya ilmiah di antara para mahasantri dan merekomendasikan pengembangan lebih lanjut dari modul penelitian sejarah dan publikasi artikel penelitian peserta. Kegiatan ini merangsang pemikiran, keinginan, dan kemampuan para peserta untuk melakukan penelitian sejarah dengan menggunakan pendekatan interdisipliner, menumbuhkan pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang masa lalu dan relevansinya dengan masa kini.

Abstract

Industri perjalanan haji saat ini menjadi bahan diskusi di kalangan politisi, pembuat kebijakan publik serta akademisi dan tokoh agama. Dasar dari pembahasan ini adalah bagaimana pengelolaan industri haji dan umrah mengalami perubahan yang signifikan dari masa kolonial hingga era awal kemerdekaan yang dipengaruhi oleh globalisasi, kemajuan teknologi transportasi dan dinamika sosial ekonomi. Industri jasa ini mengalami persaingan yang ketat di antara para agen perjalanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tantangan dalam pengelolaan industri haji dari perspektif kebijakan pemerintah dan aktivitas industri jasa lokal yang turut serta dalam pelayanan perjalanan haji pada masa awal kemerdekaan.Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan sumber studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan industri haji dan umrah mengalami perubahan sosial setelah Indonesia merdeka. Jika sebelumnya dimonopoli oleh Pemerintah Hindia Belanda dengan kapal-kapal perusahaan Belanda, maka setelah kemerdekaan menjadi lebih variatif mulai dari kapal uap hingga pesawat terbang. Dalam prosesnya, pengusaha lokal dilibatkan sebagai agen perjalanan. Namun demikian, masih banyak ditemukan fakta-fakta kecurangan atau hal-hal yang merugikan jemaah haji.Pembahasan temuan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pertama, impian untuk memperbaiki perjalanan haji dengan mendirikan perusahaan pelayaran muslim, tidak berpengaruh pada kemajuan transportasi haji. Pelayanan pengangkutan jemaah haji dalam perjalanan menuju Jeddah masih tidak jauh berbeda antara masa kolonial dan masa awal Indonesia merdeka. Perbaikan yang signifikan terjadi setelah kendali perjalanan haji dipegang oleh pemerintah melalui Departemen Agama dan perusahaan pelayaran PT. Arafah. Kedua, dalam aspek administrasi pengangkutan jemaah haji masih sering merugikan jemaah bahkan cenderung diskriminatif, seperti yang terlihat dalam persoalan kuota haji. Penelitian ini dikaji dalam rangka memberikan perspektif baru dan merekomendasikan bahan kajian untuk penulisan sejarah ibadah haji pada masa awal Indonesia merdeka. Kata kunci: Industri Perjalanan Haji, Transportasi, Kondisi Pasca Revolusi Kemerdekaan AbstractThe Hajj travel industry is currently the subject of discussion among politicians, public policy makers as well as academics and religious figures. The basis for this discussion is how the management of the Hajj and Umrah industry experienced significant changes from colonial times to the early era of independence which was influenced by globalization, advances in transportation technology and socio-economic dynamics. The service industry experiences stiff competition among travel agents. This research aims to analyze the challenges in Hajj industry management from the perspective of government policy and the activities of the local service industry which participated in Hajj travel services during the early days of independence.This research uses qualitative research with a literature study source approach. The results of the research show that the management of the Hajj and Umrah industry experienced social changes after Indonesia's independence. If previously it was monopolized by the Dutch East Indies Government with Dutch company ships, then after independence it was more varied from steamships to airplanes. In the process, local entrepreneurs are involved as travel agents. However, there are still many facts of fraud or things that are detrimental to Hajj pilgrims.Discussion of the findings in this research shows that first, the dream of improving Hajj travel by establishing a Muslim shipping company, has no effect on the progress of Hajj transportation. The service for transporting Hajj pilgrims on their way to Jeddah was still not much different between the Colonial Period and the early days of independent Indonesia. Significant improvements after control of the Hajj trip was held by the government through the Department of Religion and the shipping company PT. Arafat. Secondly, in the administrative aspect of transporting Hajj pilgrims, it is still often detrimental to pilgrims and even tends to be discriminatory, as can be seen in the issue of Hajj quotas. This research was studied in order to provide a new perspective and recommend study material for writing the history of the pilgrimage in the early days of Independent Indonesia.Keywords: Hajj Travel Industry, Transportation, Post-Independence Conditions
