Abstract

Hypertension is a condition of blood pressure above normal values. Hypertension can be caused by narrowing of the arteries (vasoconstriction) or stiffness of the arteries. Such conditions will increase systemic resistance followed by an increase in blood pressure. This study shows that the positive effect of brisk walking exercise on several cardiovascular diseases is quite a lot. However, there have not been many investigations or reviews that have concluded that it is related to the effectiveness of the model, intensity, duration and frequency of brisk walking in reducing blood pressure in patients with hypertension. The purpose of this study was to review available published data, so that it can be used as scientific evidence to identify the effect of brisk walking exercise on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients in terms of model, intensity, duration and frequency. The research methodology used is descriptive research using a design to explore the problem of nursing care at risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion with complementary brisk walking exercise in hypertensive patients using a nursing care approach which includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing intervention, nursing implementation and nursing evaluation. Researchers conducted on 20 patients and compared the response to the results of each action given to 20 respondents then carried out an analysis based on theory and previous research. The results showed that there was a decrease in blood pressure and pain scale in hypertensive patients after the brisk walking exercise was carried out, in respondents the blood pressure decreased from 150/100 mmHg to 130/80 mmHg and the pain scale decreased from a scale of 5 to a scale of 3. Conclusion of Implementation brisk walking which is done with certain procedures can help lower blood pressure in a significant range. Patients with normal conditions and hypertension have different abilities in physical activity, this is a consideration to determine the speed, distance, duration and intensity of brisk walking. Abstract

Stroke is the second cause of death and the third cause of disability in the world after heart disease and cancer in both developed and developing countries. The burden caused by stroke is mainly due to disability (public health problem) which also creates a highcost burden for both sufferers, families, society and the state. The impact of stroke in general is very diverse, such as impaired physical mobility, impaired verbal communication and even swallowing disorders, depending on the part of the brain that is damaged. If a stroke occurs in a part of the brain that plays an important role, such as the brain stem which regulates breathing, it can have serious impacts, one of which is swallowing disorders. Lesions that occur in the brain will result in impaired cognitive function such as impaired concentration and attention, which can interfere with the swallowing process, which can result in aspiration due to the entry of food and drink into the respiratory tract. Actions that can be taken to overcome swallowing difficulties in stroke patients are by performing Shaker Exercises. Shaker Exercise is a rehabilitation to strengthen weak muscles and overcome difficulty swallowing in the suprahyoid muscles of the neck. The community service method used is socialization and isometric and isotonic exercises carried out at the Harapan and Doa Hospital, Bengkulu City. After carrying out community service activities with mild stroke patients, it can reduce the problem of dysphagia in patients who suffer from stroke. It is hoped that the Shaker Exercise action will be applied as a nursing intervention while the patient is being treated in hospital.

Abstract

Padang Serai Community Health Center data for 2023 shows that there are 56 residents suffering from diabetes mellitus (DM) and 20 residents classified as prediabetic based on the results of monthly fasting blood sugar checks. Based on these problems, community service (PKM) was carried out in the form of a Healthy Living Assistance Program with the aim of providing motivation to residents to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Program activities are divided into three stages, namely: program socialization including how to fill out a healthy living logbook, education via WhatsApp groups, and evaluation. Before and after participating in the program, residents' health parameters were measured. Residents' implementation of a healthy lifestyle is evaluated based on logbook recording. The program activities, which lasted for 3 weeks, were attended by residents, most of whom were mothers with a body mass index classified as obese. The PKM results showed that after implementing a healthy lifestyle there was an improvement in health parameters, namely a decrease in fasting blood sugar levels, total cholesterol, blood pressure and body weight. It can be concluded that the Healthy Living Assistance Program has succeeded in encouraging residents to live healthily in preventing and controlling DM

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases that most people suffer from. Hypertension is known as the silent killer because this disease can cause death without causing symptoms because sufferers are not aware that they have hypertension. Headaches can result in poor blood circulation to the brain and if left untreated can cause stroke and even death. One effort to manage hypertension non-pharmacologically is acupressure therapy. Stimulation of acupressure points can stimulate the release of histamine as a mediator of blood vessel vasodilation. This process results in lowering blood pressure and headaches by causing vasodilation and decreasing blood vessel resistance. The community service methods used are education, blood pressure checks and providing acupressure therapy which will be carried out in RW 2, Sumber Jaya Village, Kampung Melayu District. After carrying out community service activities targeting people who took part in posbindu activities, the results showed that there was an increase in public knowledge about the management of hypertension and the application of acupressure therapy to reduce blood pressure and reduce coconut pain in hypertension sufferers. It is hoped that the public, especially hypertension sufferers, can apply acupressure therapy to lower blood pressure and reduce coconut pain in hypertension sufferers.

Abstract

Non-hemorrhagic stroke occurs due to obstruction of blood vessels, resulting in reduced blood flow to brain tissue. This condition may be caused by cerebral thrombosis, atherosclerosis, and cerebral embolism, which lead to vascular blockage as a result of plaque formation and subsequent narrowing of the vessels. These events can damage the cranial nerves responsible for regulating swallowing function, thereby causing dysphagia. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre–post test approach. A total of 10 respondents participated in the study. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Respondent information was collected through interviews and observation, while dysphagia assessment was performed through direct evaluation. Data were analyzed using the dependent t-test with a significance level of α = 0.05. Results and Discussion: There was a significant difference in dysphagia status before and after the intervention (p-value = 0.000). Conclusion: The Chin Tuck Against Resistance (CTAR) technique and Shaker Exercise are effective in managing swallowing disorders (dysphagia).
