Abstract

The research were conducted in River estuary of Rokan, Riau Province on Mei 2014. Sedimentation analysis were investigated by various method i.e, sedimen grain-size analysis, Total suspended solid analysis, mechanism of particle disseminated, river’s sediment transport analysis, longshore sediment transport analysis, coastline chance analysis and absolute sedimentation velocity. The research was aim to explained sedimentation procces covered mechanism of sediment transport and sedimentation rate, and then could be able to gave the solution for preventive study of River estuary of Rokan Sedimetation. The result of grain-size analysis showed that mean size were dominated by find sand, sorted by poorly sorted. The disseminated of sediment in deep water was tended to very fine skewed dan skin-deep was very coarse skewed. Mechanism of disseminated particle result when tide, find sand sediment was transport as 128,52 m to the south-east in 23,33 minute. On the contrary to the northwest as 88,10 m in 16 minute. Very find sand was transport as 82,59 m to the south-east in 15 minute at tide and on the contrary to the northwest as 67,12 m in 11,27 minute. Total Sediment Transport Formulae showed 137.023 m3/year of sediment transport was occurred, while longshore sediment transport was 33.616.808,53 m3/year at the River estuary of Rokan. The coastline chance showed addition of land at the estuary was 240.096.862,77 m2 , accretion was 280.492.425,46 m2, and abration was 27,935,195.86 m2. From sediment total calculation in a year comparing by 60 years accretion showed, the absoluted sedimentation velocity was 0,19 cm/year. It was low, so that concluded the contriction of estuary by accretion.

Abstract

Aceh Waters has a very potential biological resources, that made the cathing rates become the potential activities. Skipjack Tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) is one of the potential fishing due to high economic value and its high distributions. The abundant of Skipjack Tuna was affected by the productivities of chlorophyll-a. this study aims to investigate the effects of chlorophyl-a on the catch rates of Skipjack Tuna in Aceh waters during September 2017. Survey methods were applied for this study by conducting three scientific research cruises to 32 fishing ground stations. The results of satellite images and catch retes were generate by using overlay method. Satellite images data on September 2017 shows that the average of chlorophyll-a is around 0,23 mg/m3, with the variations 0,10 – 1,30 mg/m3 that distributed around Aceh Waters and Selat Melaka. And the biggest catching of Skipjack Tuna achieved on the third trip where the chlorophyll-a is around 0,17mg/m3 and the total of catch rates is 7,480 kg.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the maximum precipitation intensity changes between theperiod 2002 - 2009 and know the drainage capacity to accommodate the maximum rainfallintensity. This research was conducted in the Village District Town Dumai, Dumai City who isprone to occurrence of inundation / flooding during rain. The research method using descriptiveof an explorative approach that aims to describe the condition and status of the phenomenon ofthe drainage channel and residential environment. The results showed that rainfall intensity forrainfall duration 30 minutes with 10-year anniversary when obtained at 257.999 mm / hour. Thecalculation of drainage channels that can accommodate a maximum flow rate / peak dischargecontained in SP1 primary drainage and secondary drainage channels SS1, SS4, and SS11. Theinability of other drainse channel accommodate the maximum flow causing inundation /flooding, in addition to blockage of drainage channels by the waste also adds to the severity ofthe situation

Abstract

PT. Medco E&P Indonesia - Lirik that have registered Environmental ManagementSystem (EMS) standard ISO 14001; 2004 in May of 2011. The purpose of this study are1) to analyze the environmental management system in PT. Medco E&P Indonesia -Lirik 2) to analyze whether there is a difference (gap) between EMS PT. Medco E&PIndonesia - Lirik with ISO 14001;2004, 3) to know the public perception of the industryin the surrounding of corporate activity. This research is a case study application of theISO EMS. Techniques of data collection is through direct observation of clause 4.4(implementation and operation) and clause 4.5 (examination) through document search,questionnaire and interviews with officers in the field and the community aroundthe company. Data analysis was carried out by way of valuation mismatch EMS ofPT. Medco E&P Indonesia - Lirik by EMS ISO 14001; 2004 and gap analysis. Theresults were obtained general 1) Generally PT. Medco E&P Indonesia - Lirik alreadyapplying EMS clause 4.4 (Applied and operations) and kalusul 4.5 (examination). Metsome of the non-conformance of which are in sub-clause 4.4.3 (Communication), thecommunication system in the PT. Medco E&P Indonesia - Lirik has not covered all thecompany's environmental management system and does not include all relevant parties.While clause 4.4.5 (Documentation management), found that the documents containedin the document only manual control environment and environmental procedures, andother documents are not complete. To clause 4.5.3 (a discrepancy, action, correctiveand preventive) found that PT. Medco E&P Indonesia - Lirik has not executedcorrective and preventive actions against discrepancies found in the environmentalmanagement system implemented.

Abstract

Utilization of marine natural resources at this current becoming one of the option thatis used by several Indonesian regions as motors of regional development. One of thenatural resources potential is tin mining. Tin mining over the ocean not only provideseconomic value, but also resulting negative impacts on marine waters. The alleged ofnegative impact is the increasing of suspended sediment in the waters due to leaching ofmining activities on the ship. Current circulation patterns that generated by tidal ofPulau Rangsang waters Regency of Meranti Islands, when the tide to ebb is heading tothe Southward and when the ebb to tide is heading to northward. The resultant ofcurrents circulation tend to align with the mainland of Pulau Topang. Suspendedsediment transport generated by ocean currents, showing the distribution of thesuspended sediment concentration of 0.08 kg/m3 or 80 ppm spreads about 2 km fromthe material source.

Abstract

This study was conducted from March to May 2014. Locations research was conductedin Koto Garo district of Kampar. This study aims to identify management problems thatexist in the sub-watershed Tapung Kanan and analyze problems and problem resolutionsub-watershed management Tapung Kanan using Logical Framework Analysis (LFA)models. Based on the results obtained as follows: (1). Sub-watershed managementissues in Tapung Kanan based inventory data obtained from the implementation offocus group discussion between the sub-watershed communities around Tapung Kanan,NGOs, Provincial Government of Riau and Riau University Environment Rona namely:a). The potential threat of flooding and pollution of the environment in Sub-watershedTapung Kanan, b). The high land conversion practices were not in accordance withtheir distribution as well as the practice of forest destruction, c). The potential conflictsof management of natural resources is not optimal due to spatial synchronizationacross districts, d). The limited attention and public participation in environmentalconservation around the sub watershed Tapung Kanan, e). Not optimal performance forthe designated institutional sub-watershed management Tapung Kanan. (2). TapungKanan sub watershed management in an integrated manner using a model of LFA canmap problems and problem resolution. So that management can be realized gradually,then setting goals, objectives and strategies should be drawn up so that the next can bederived in the policies, programs, activities and location implemented. The resultingmanagement objectives in this study is "Realizing the Tapung Kanan sub watershed asone buffer region Ecosystem in Riau Province ".

Abstract

Improving of water quality from siak river that have been used for long time by communities around the river for many purposes such as drinking water and washing has been done by implementing various method such as filtration, coagulation, aeration absorption. Each method has specific characteristic and advantages. Filtration with sand and gravels can decrease concentration of total suspended solid, Fe, Mn and organic material (KMnO4). Coagulation with alum (Al2SO4) can decrease TSS Concentration, Fe, Mn, NO3, NO2, KMnO4, coliform and coli fecal. Furthermore, aeration with a oxygen can decrease TSS concentration, TDS, Fe and Mn. While absorption whit active carbon can decrease concentration of TSS, Mn and Fe. After the four methods had been studied, the best result was obtained through combination of four methods (filtration, coagulation, aeration and absorption).

Abstract

One of the forest functions is the protection for water ecosystem along a watershed. Theactivities of extensive acacia logging area near the watershed of Sipatak by PT. SumateraSylva Lestari currently have not paid attention on the environmental condition, especiallythe hydrologic aspect. The present research sought to investigate the effect of the extensivelogging acacia on the flood hydrographic characteristic. The research was expected to comewith the proper acacia logging area. The land coverage and curve number analysis wereperformed using software program ArcView GIS 3.3 which was based on Table SCS CurveNumber. The average rain of the watershed was calculated using Polygon Thiessentechnique and the plan maximum daily rain was obtained from a frequency analysis towardthe average rain of the watershed. The hydrographic units was obtained from 10 floodincidences using Collins’ technique. The scenario of the forest logging pattern was madeaccording to the prevailing provision at PT. Sumatera Sylva Lestari. The floodhydrographic analysis was performed using Software HEC-HMS 2.2.2 by doing acalibration and verification to obtain the watershed parameter which would be used in theflood hydrographic simulation resulting from the logging. The initial value of the subwatershed of Sipatak was 78.558. The logging at sub watershed of Sipatak up to 79.496%resulted in the increase of CN to be 83.49. The increase of the CN resulted in the increaseof the peak debit up to 71.60% and the runoff volume was 71.04%. The trend line of peakdebit increase and the runoff volume resulting from the forest logging depended on thelogging forest area and the rain input. To avoid the over capacity of the watershed ofSipatak, the logging area should be 120.30 hectare or 32.69%.

Abstract

Observation of oil concentration was conducted to know pattern of oil distribution in Rupat Strait in front of Dumai City, Riau. Samples were collected on 19 sampling side on Rupat Strait in June 2007, and the samples transported to Chemistry Laboratoty, FMJPA, Riau University before data were analyzed by using software surfer. Highest concent ration of oil was detected around harbor of Duinai City and distribu ted to both northern and southern from around the Harbor. Concentration pattern of oil distribution decreased toward all directions from a round harbor, and may be controlled by tidal current which cause oil distribution occurred horizontally with the coast of Dumai City side was longer thami vertical distribution from Dumai side to Rupat Island.

Abstract

This research was conducted in March 2016. Sampling was conducted in the coastal waters of Padang and Pariaman, West Sumatra. The purpose of this research is to map the distribution of chlorophyll-a in the coastal waters of Padang and Pariaman, West Sumatra Province. The method used in this research is survey method. The results of image analysis is known that the distribution of chlorophyll-a uniform occurred in February 2016 in which the distribution covers a large area and at least shades of difference in that month. Furthermore, the uneven distribution of chlorophyll-a occurred in November 2015 in which the distribution is so broad and it could be seen from striking differences in color gradation. Results of laboratory analysis known that the highest of chlorophyll-a concentration was occurred in the month of November 2015 and the lowest occurred in March 2015.
