Abstract

This study aims to find out how students' problem-solving skills in the subject of animal body tissue and structure use the Jigsaw learning model. This type of research is quantitative research with a sample size of 70 students of the biology education study program. The research sample was taken from students who were normally distributed, had the same characteristics (homogeneous), and had the same average value. The data analysis technique uses simple linear regression. The results showed that there was a significant influence between the Jigsaw cooperative learning model in the animal tissue and body structure course on the problem-solving abilities of students in the biology education study program with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, so that the jigsaw learning model can help students improve problem-solving skills

Abstract

Students' creative thinking skills need to be developed, one of which is through learning. This research was aimed to produce Augmented Reality (AR) media based on Group Investigation (GI) practice models on various living things to improve students' creative thinking skills. This research and development using the 4-D model. However, it only reached the Develop stage. The population of this study was students of SMA Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya in the Science class, with 37 students in each class. This study collected data through validation tests, pre-tests, post-tests, observation sheets for creative thinking skills, questionnaires, and student responses. The data analysis technique used is qualitative and quantitative descriptive. The results of development research carried out by researchers related to Mobile AR media with display aspects with 17 indicators obtaining good category. Whereas in the programming aspect, seven indicators are good category. So, the Mobile AR media validation results are good category. Biological material in the application with AR with content aspects with eight indicators are very good category. Whereas in the learning aspect, which consists of 16 indicators, in the good/valid category. The material in this category is worthy of being tested in the field. Based on descriptive statistics, the pre-test and post-test proved to be higher. We discuss these results and its implications.

Abstract

Limited students' critical thinking skills in learning can be strengthened by using augmented reality technology applications. The main objective of this research is to analyze the problem-based learning model with integrated augmented reality educational games in improving students' critical thinking abilities. This quasi-experimental research used a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of 60 students from SD Muhammadiyah 09 Surabaya who were selected using purposive sampling. Data was collected by observing the implementation of learning and testing students' critical thinking levels. The data obtained in the research was processed statistically based on research obtained with a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05, confirming that Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted. Thus, the probability value is 0.000 < 0.05, so all coefficients have meaning. Applying the PBL model with integrated augmented reality educational games on critical thinking skills has a significant effect. From the ANOVA test or F-test, Fcount was 45,348 with a significance level of 0.000. This probability is smaller than 0.05, so the learning model to predict the level of participation in learning with a problem-based learning model through educational games integrated with augmented reality influences students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Abstrak:  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan validitas atlas klasifikasi hewan vertebrata berbasis kekayaan hayati lokal yang dikembangkan sebagai sumber belajar biologi di sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model Four-D terdiri dari tahap pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop), dan penyebaran (disseminate). Penelitian ini terbatas sampai pada tahap pengembangan (develop). Produk yang dikembangkan berupa atlas yaitu gambar hewan vertebrata local disertai keterangan bagian-bagian morfologinya dan diklasifikasikan berdasarkan filum, kelas, ordo, family, dan species. Pengumpulan data dengan teknik uji validasi oleh para validator yang terdiri dari 1 validator ahli materi, 1 validator ahli media dan 2 validator ahli praktisi, menggunakan lembar validasi perangkat pembelajaran. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Dari hasil validasi diperoleh validitas materi dengan nilai 4,0 dengan kategori sangat valid dan validitas media dengan nilai 3,8 kategori sangat valid. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa atlas klasifikasi hewan vertebrata berbasis kekayaan hayati lokal yang dikembangkan sebagai sumber belajar biologi di sekolah dinyatakan sangat valid berdasarkan hasil validasi para ahli. Katakunci: Atlas, Kekayaan Hayati Lokal, Klasifikasi, Vertebrata

Abstract

Education in Indonesia faces the problem of preparing human resources to face the world of work in the 21st Century Era. This study aims to describe the results of a Lesson Study on Improving 21st Century Skills for Biology Education Teacher Candidates at FKIP UMSurabaya. This research is a case study with a descriptive method. The research was conducted on the Department of Biology Education students for the 2019 Academic Year at FKIP UMSurabaya. Data were collected by documentation, test, and observation methods from 2 Lesson study cycles. Data were analyzed descriptively by calculating the percentage of students with HOTS, communication, and collaboration skill levels expressed in four categories. The results of the study showed: 1) the level of HOTS in the Very High Category in Cycles I and II was the same, namely 50% of students; 2) the level of Communication skills in the Very Competent Category in Cycle I was 26% of students and Cycle II was 36% of students; 3) the level of collaborative skills with the Very Competent Category in Cycle I was 25% of students, and Cycle II was 37% of students. The conclusion of this study shows that during Lesson Study, as many as two cycles of Biology Education Teacher Candidates at FKIP UMSurabaya have not shown an increase in HOTS. Meanwhile, his communication and collaboration skills have improved. The sustainability of the Lesson Study needs to be continued by building a learning community between lecturers of other subjects and partner teachers in schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) Mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis ikan di kepulauan kangean; (2) Membuat bentuk bahan ajar sebagai sumber belajar  biologi dari hasil penelitian keanekaragaman jenis ikan di kepulauan kangean. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Subyek pada penelitian ini adalah tokoh masyarakat atau nelayan pulau kangean yang memiliki pengetahuan  tentang ikan. Sedangkan obyek dari penelitian ini adalah keanekaragaman jenis ikan yang ada di pulau kangean. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan menentukan macam, jumlah dan indeks keanekaragaman jenis ikan. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) terdapat 36 jenis ikan; (2) jumlah 1.072 ekor ikan; dan (3)  indeks keanekaragaman pada plot 1 yaitu pasar ikan desa arjasa memiliki tingkat keanekaragaman sedang sebesar (2,9224), indeks keanekaragaman pada plot 2 yaitu pasar ikan desa kangayan tingkat keanekaragamannya sedang sebesar (2,6363). Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata keanekaragaman jenis ikan secara keseluruhan 36 jenis yaitu (2,7793) yang termasuk kedalam kategori keanekaragaman sedang; Bahan ajar yang dibuat dari penelitian ini berupa buku pengayaan keanekaragaman jenis ikan (class pisces).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan validitas perangkat pembelajaran inkuiri materi sistem reproduksi manusia secara blended learning berbantuan google classroom untuk melatihkan high order thinking skills (HOTS) peserta didik. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berupa silabus, RPP, LKS dan instrumen tes menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan menggunakan Four-D Models yang terdiri dari tahap define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Namun, penelitian ini terbatas sampai pada tahap develop (pengembangan). Tahap define terdiri atas analisis awal, analisis tugas, analisis peserta didik, analisis konsep dan analisis tujuan pembelajaran.  Tahap design terdiri atas perancangan silabus, rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP), lembar kegiatan siswa (LKS) dan instrumen tes. Tahap develop terdiri atas uji validasi oleh validator yang terdiri dari ahli materi, ahli media dan pengguna lapangan (guru) dengan menggunakan instrumen lembar validasi perangkat pembelajaran. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil validasi silabus, RPP, LKS dan instrumen tes memperoleh nilai modus rata-rata 3,6 dengan kategori sangat valid untuk masing-masing perangkat pembelajaran. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran inkuiri materi sistem reproduksi manusia secara blended learning berbantuan google classroom yang dikembangkan untuk melatihkan HOTS peserta didik dinyatakan valid dan layak digunakan berdasarkan hasil validasi para ahli. The research aimed to describe the validity of the inquiry learning tools for the human reproductive system material using blended learning assisted by google classroom to train students' high order thinking skills (HOTS). The developed learning tools were syllabus, lesson plans, worksheets, and test instruments using an inquiry learning model. This research was a development research using Four-D Models which consisted of the stages of defining, designing, developing, disseminating. However, this research was limited to the development stage. The definition stage consisted of the initial analysis, task analysis, student analysis, concept analysis and learning objectives analysis. The design stage consisted of designing the syllabus, lesson plans, worksheets and test instruments. The development stage consisted of the validation test by the validators consisting of material experts, media experts and field users (teachers) using a learning tool validation sheet. The research data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The validation results of the syllabus, lesson plans, worksheets and test instruments obtained an average mode score of 3.6 with very valid category for each learning tool. From this research results, it can be concluded that the inquiry learning tool for the human reproductive system material using blended learning assisted by google classroom which was developed to train students' HOTS was declared valid and suitable for use based on the experts’ validation results.

Abstract

Sanggara Bimbingan (SB) Muhammadiyah Kepong Kuala Lumpur Malaysia yang didirikan sejak 2022 oleh Pimpinan Cabang Istimewa Muhammadiyah Malaysia (PCIM), sampai saat ini masih menghadapi berbagai masalah dalam pemberikan layanan pendidikan kepada warga migran Indiensia. Guru pengajar atau tenaga pendidik atau pembimbing di sanggar masih kurang. Kurangnya tenaga pendidik pada lembaga-lembaga pendidikan Indonesia yang ada di Malaysia, berpengaruh terhadap kualitas pendidikannya. Bukan hanya jumlah tenaga pendidik atau pembimbing di sanggar yang masih kurang, tetapi permasalahan metode pembelajaran yang digunakan guru atau tenaga pendidik di SB juga belum sesuai dengan berkembangan tantangan jaman sekarang dan masa yang akan datang. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan wawasan pemahaman dan keterampilan pedagogik kepada tenaga pendidik melalui pendidikan dan pelatihan penyusunan RPP Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Projek.  Sasaran pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah tenaga pendidik SB Muhammadiyah Kepong Kuala Lumpur Malaysia sebanyak 11 orang guru atau pendamping. Metode pengabdian yang digunakan adalah pendidikan dan latihan atau workshop. Setelah dilakukan pengabdian selama 1 bulan, peserta (guru/pembimbing) SB Kepong memberi respon, yaitu: 1) Sebanyak 60% menyatakan pengabdian kepada masyarakat sangat bermanfaat, 2) Menurut 80% guru/pembimbing materi yang disampaikan sudah sesui, (3) metode penyampaian  menurut 40% guru/pembimbing sangat sesuai, dan (4) Sebanyak 60% guru/pembimbing setuju jika pengabdian diadakan lagi dengan masalah yang lain. Kesimpulan dari hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat Internasional di SB Kepong Kuala Lumpur Malaysia sangat bermanfaat dan perlu dilakukan kembali di masa yang akan datang. Development Of Project-Based Learning Model Lesson Plans For Supervisors at SB Muhammadiyah Kepong Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Sanggara Guidance (SB) Muhammadiyah Kepong Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, which was founded in 2022 by the Leadership of the Special Branch of Muhammadiyah Malaysia (PCIM), is still facing various problems in providing educational services to Indonesian migrant citizens. There are still not enough teachers or teaching staff or supervisors in the studio. The lack of teaching staff at Indonesian educational institutions in Malaysia has an impact on the quality of education. Not only is the number of teaching staff or supervisors in studios still lacking, but the problem is that the learning methods used by teachers or teaching staff in SB are also not in line with the development of current and future challenges. This community service aims to provide insight into understanding and pedagogical skills to teaching staff through education and training in preparing RPP Project-Based Learning Models. The target of this community service is SB Muhammadiyah Kepong Kuala Lumpur Malaysia's teaching staff, totaling 11 teachers or assistants. The service methods used are education and training or workshops. After serving for 1 month, SB Kepong participants (teachers/supervisors) responded, namely: 1) As many as 60% stated that community service was very useful, 2) According to 80% of teachers/supervisors the material presented was appropriate, (3) method According to 40% of teachers/supervisors, the delivery was very appropriate, and (4) 60% of teachers/supervisors agreed if the service was held again with other problems. The conclusion from the results of service to the international community at SB Kepong Kuala Lumpur Malaysia is very useful and needs to be done again in the future

Abstract

Background: Remediation of heavy metal pollutants using bacteria is currently being carried out due to high levels of heavy metal pollution (Cu and Hg) in ecosystems, mainly due to industrial growth, encouraging remediation research using bacteria. The toxic effects of heavy metals on living things and the environment need to be addressed.Objective: This study aims to identify and analyze the potential of indigenous bacteria from mangrove sediments in Sawohan Sidoarjo Village in reducing Cu and Hg heavy metal levels in vitro.Method: This research is included in explorative descriptive research. This research was conducted at the UMSurabaya microbiology laboratory, in July – November 2023. Isolation is carried out by pour plate method and purified using streak plate method on Nutrient Agar medium. Initial screening of bacteria using Nutrient Agar medium with the addition of Cu and Hg metals as much as 100, 250, 350 and 500 ppm. Measurement of the potential of bacteria in reducing Cu and Hg metal levels was carried out on SSA medium (Salmonella shigela agar) using the Langmuir method. The results of bacterial isolation from mangrove sediments obtained 9 isolates used to test the degradation ability of heavy metals Cu and Hg.Result: U Heavy metal degradation test showed that the 9 isolates were able to degrade Cu and Hg heavy metals. T1 isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa species, with Gram negative characteristics, have the highest reduction ability with Cu reduction power of 82% and Hg metal of 72,61%.Conclusion: H Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria from mangrove sediments has the ability as a bioremediation agent of heavy metals Cu and Hg from ecosystems.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, motivasi belajar siswa, dan mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe picture and picture. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen kuasi dengan rancangan penelitian menggunakan desain “Nonequivalent control group desain”. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MAN 1 Lamongan. Teknik pengumpulan data secara tes dan non tes (observasi). Data dianalisis secara deskrptif kuantitatif dan statistik uji-T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe picture and picture terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan nilai rata-rata 83,84% dengan kategori sangat baik dan motivasi belajar siswa dalam kategori tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata 78,4%. Analisis data statistik uji-T pada kemampuan berpikir kritis menunjukkan nilai signifikan 0.00.
