Abstract

Wajit Cililin is one of the traditional foods typical of the Cililin Region in West Java. The making of wajit can be varied by adding fruits, such as Campolay Fruit. The use of Campolay Fruit (Pouteria campechiana) in making wajit has never been done before. The purpose of this study was to determine the organoleptic value and nutritional content of Wajit Cililin with the addition of Campolay Fruit (Pouteria campechiana). The study was conducted using an experimental method at the East Java Health Laboratory (Labkesda) and the Medical Laboratory Technology Lab, Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya. Organoleptic data were collected from 20 panelist selected by accidental sampling consisting of men and women aged 17-65 years. Organoleptic and nutritional data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that panelist really liked the organoleptic in treatment III (wajit with the addition of 200 g Campolay fruit) with an average value of 3.31 (very much like). The nutritional content showed an increase in the addition of 200 g of Campolay Fruit with nutritional values ​​including Calories, Carbohydrates, Fat, Protein, Calcium, β-Carotene, and Vitamin C respectively, namely 262.47 Kcal, 50.62 mg, 5.15 mg, 3.41 mg, 642.85 mg, 1,600 ppm, and 17.5 mg. The results of this study can be concluded that the use of Campolay Fruit (Pouteria campechiana) can improve the quality of Wajit Cililin, both in terms of organoleptic value and nutritional content.

Abstract

Cattle farming in Indonesia is still concerned with livestock productivity and has not maximized the utilization of cow dung waste (teletong) of economic value. The waste of cow dung (teletong) produced should no longer be a burden of business costs but a result of having high economic value and if possible equivalent to the economic value of the main product (meat). The purpose of this research is to study the utilization of cow dung into organic fertilizer that support the business of fattening beef cattle. The method used in this research is descriptive method with data collection method of observation and interviews of livestock farmer group and supported by literature study. Based on the results of observations and interviews obtained the results that members of Livestock Farmers Group Jaya already utilize and manage the waste of cow dung into organic fertilizer with economic value to sell to members for agricultural land fertilizer rice, watermelon and cantaloupe. The reason for the use of cow dung as fertilizer is usually because the goods are easy to obtain, relatively cheap and give better results.

Abstract

Current elementary education, the first decade of the 21st century, is faced with a global challenge where the pattern of people's lives is changing very rapidly, fueled mainly by the development of information technology and global challenges. Devotion to the community is offered to solve the problems faced by a group of elementary school teachers Petemon, Sawahan, Surabaya. Seeing the problem of partner of implementation method offered in dedication to solve the problems faced by teacher group of SDN Patemon IX are (1) Training of applying of learning model of Student Center Learning on Mathematics, Biology and Bahasa Indonesia subjects to SDN Patemon IX, (2) Evaluation of training result of SCL instructional model implementation in Mathematics, Biology and Bahasa Indonesia subjects to teachers of SDN Patemon IX, (3) Review and Assistance in the preparation of fourth-, fourth and fourth-grade thematic RPP, (4) Assistance in Implementation of RPP in Thematic Class IV, V and VI learning, (5) Evaluation of compilation result and Assistance of implementation of RPP in thematic learning of class IV, V and VI. Proposal method to solve the problem that has been formulated is divided into three stages: preparation, implementation and reflection. Strengthening teacher's ability in developing thematic learning tool based on Student Center Learning (SCL) at SDN PATEMON IX Surabaya, get very positive response shown from Reflection result at end of mentoring. To design a mentoring program that suits the training needs some things are needed in designing the mentoring.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pencerahan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam memecahkan kesulitan hidup yang dihadapi sehari-hari, terlebih kesulitan di masa Pandemi Covid-19 yang masih belum berakhir. Warga RW 04 Dukuh Setro Baru Kecamatan Tambaksari Kota Surabaya merupakan sasaran dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini, terutama Ibu-ibu Kelompok PKK. Alih teknologi yang diterapkan pada pengabdian ini adalah teknik bercocok tanam sistem hidroponik dengan modifikasi lebih sederhana dan lebih mudah bagi masyarakat. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian meliputi: (1) Penyuluhan, (2) pelatihan dan (3) Praktik.  Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah setiap rumah warga RW 04 telah melaksanakan kegiatan bercocok tanam sayuran dan tanaman hias ala hidroponik dengan memanfaatkan limbah botol kemasan dan sabut kelapa. Kesimpulan bahwa pengabdian kepada masyarakat telah berhasil melakukan alih teknologi kepada warga dengan memanfaatkan limbah botol kemasan dan sabut kelapa menjadi produk lebih bernilai

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) Mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis ikan di kepulauan kangean; (2) Membuat bentuk bahan ajar sebagai sumber belajar  biologi dari hasil penelitian keanekaragaman jenis ikan di kepulauan kangean. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Subyek pada penelitian ini adalah tokoh masyarakat atau nelayan pulau kangean yang memiliki pengetahuan  tentang ikan. Sedangkan obyek dari penelitian ini adalah keanekaragaman jenis ikan yang ada di pulau kangean. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan menentukan macam, jumlah dan indeks keanekaragaman jenis ikan. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) terdapat 36 jenis ikan; (2) jumlah 1.072 ekor ikan; dan (3)  indeks keanekaragaman pada plot 1 yaitu pasar ikan desa arjasa memiliki tingkat keanekaragaman sedang sebesar (2,9224), indeks keanekaragaman pada plot 2 yaitu pasar ikan desa kangayan tingkat keanekaragamannya sedang sebesar (2,6363). Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata keanekaragaman jenis ikan secara keseluruhan 36 jenis yaitu (2,7793) yang termasuk kedalam kategori keanekaragaman sedang; Bahan ajar yang dibuat dari penelitian ini berupa buku pengayaan keanekaragaman jenis ikan (class pisces).

Abstract

Education in Indonesia faces the problem of preparing human resources to face the world of work in the 21st Century Era. This study aims to describe the results of a Lesson Study on Improving 21st Century Skills for Biology Education Teacher Candidates at FKIP UMSurabaya. This research is a case study with a descriptive method. The research was conducted on the Department of Biology Education students for the 2019 Academic Year at FKIP UMSurabaya. Data were collected by documentation, test, and observation methods from 2 Lesson study cycles. Data were analyzed descriptively by calculating the percentage of students with HOTS, communication, and collaboration skill levels expressed in four categories. The results of the study showed: 1) the level of HOTS in the Very High Category in Cycles I and II was the same, namely 50% of students; 2) the level of Communication skills in the Very Competent Category in Cycle I was 26% of students and Cycle II was 36% of students; 3) the level of collaborative skills with the Very Competent Category in Cycle I was 25% of students, and Cycle II was 37% of students. The conclusion of this study shows that during Lesson Study, as many as two cycles of Biology Education Teacher Candidates at FKIP UMSurabaya have not shown an increase in HOTS. Meanwhile, his communication and collaboration skills have improved. The sustainability of the Lesson Study needs to be continued by building a learning community between lecturers of other subjects and partner teachers in schools.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang berjudul Pemberdayaan MGMP Biologi SMA dalam Mengefektifkan PR Siswa Melalui Penerapan Flipped Classroom Berbasis IT di Sidoarjo bertujuan; (1)   untuk memberikan kemampuan manajemen persiapan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan flipped classroom dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan dan (2) untuk melatih keterampilan pemanfaatan IT dalam menyiapkan sumber dan media pembelajaran dengan pendekatan flipped classroom. Mitra pada pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah MGMP Biologi SMA/MA Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Pelaksanaan pengabdian menggunakan metode workshop dan pelatihan yang meliputi workshop penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran biologi dengan pendekatan flipped classroom, pelatihan pembuatan video bahan ajar berbasis Bandicam, pelatihan penggunaan LMS berbasis Moodle, dan pelatihan  pemanfaatan VR. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, yaitu  sebanyak 90% peserta MGMP Biologi SMA/MA Kabupaten Sidoarjo mampu mengadminstrasikan persiapan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan flipped classroom pada platform LMS berbasis Moodle, sebanyak 85% peserta MGMP Biologi SMA/MA Kabupaten Sidoarjo mampu membuat video bahan ajar berbasis Bandicam, 95% peserta MGMP Biologi SMA/MA Kabupaten Sidoarjo mampu menggunakan VR. Adanya pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini sangat membantu guru MGMP Biologi SMA/MA Kabupaten Sidoarjo dalam meningkatkan kompetensi manajemen mengimplementasikan pendekatan Flipped Classroom dan keterampilan memanfaatkan IT pada pembelajaran biologi.  Pengabdian kepada masyarakat serupa atau bentuk lain perlu terus dilakukan kepada guru dalam menunjang tercapainya pendidikan yang lebih berkualitas dan Indonesia Emas 2045.   Empowering High School Biology MGMPs to Make Student Homework Effective Through the Implementation of IT-Based Flipped Classrooms in Sidoarjo  Community Service entitled Empowerment of MGMP Biology SMA in Making Student Homework Effective Through the Implementation of IT-Based Flipped Classroom in Sidoarjo aims to provide learning preparation management capabilities with a flipped classroom approach in improving the quality of education and to train IT utilization skills in preparing learning resources and media with a flipped classroom approach. The partner in this community service is MGMP Biology SMA/MA Sidoarjo Regency. The implementation of the service uses workshop and training methods which include workshops on preparing biology learning tools with a flipped classroom approach, training on making Bandicam-based teaching material videos, training on using Moodle-based LMS, and training on using VR. The results of this community service, namely as many as 90% of MGMP Biology SMA/MA Sidoarjo Regency participants were able to administer learning preparation with a flipped classroom approach on a Moodle-based LMS platform, as many as 85% of MGMP Biology SMA/MA Sidoarjo Regency participants were able to make Bandicam-based teaching material videos, 95% of MGMP Biology SMA/MA Sidoarjo Regency participants were able to use VR. This community service program significantly assisted high school/Islamic high school biology teachers in Sidoarjo Regency in improving their management competency in implementing the Flipped Classroom approach and their skills in utilizing IT in biology learning. Similar or other forms of community service need to be continuously carried out by teachers to support the achievement of higher quality education and Golden Indonesia 2045.

Abstract

This research aims: 1) to test the effect of the case-based PjBL model on student learning completion in an addictive substance material at SMPM 3 Surabaya; 2) to train the creativity of SMPM 3 Surabaya students in the case-based PjBL model on the addictive substance material; 3) To describe the implementation of the case-based PjBL model in learning additive substance material at SMPM 3 Surabaya; 4) To describe students' responses to the case-based PjBL model in learning addictive substance material. This type of research is pre-experimental with a One Group Pretest Posttest design. The target of the research was 16 students in class VIII of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Surabaya. Data collection techniques used was observation, tests and questionnaires. The research results obtained: (1) The implementation of the case-based Project Based Learning model shows very good results. (2) The case-based Project Based Learning model can train students' learning creativity in the "very creative" category. (3) The case-based Project Based Learning Model The N-Gain results show that the PjBL model is quite effective in increasing student learning completion. (4) Student responses to the case-based Project Based Learning model show a positive response. The case-based Project Based Learning model can be used as an alternative in science learning in junior high schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) Mengukur dan menentukan tingkat keanekaragamaan kerang jenis bivalvia di pesisir Jembatan Suramadu Surabaya; (2) Mengukur tingkat dominansi keanekaragamaan kerang jenis bivalvia di pesisir Jembatan Suramadu Surabaya; (3) Membuat sumber belajar dari hasil penelitian ini dalam bentuk digital yang mudah diakses siswa di sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan metode observasional. Observasi dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan transek kuadran sebanyak 5 plot berdasaran perbedaan habitatnya. data dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan menghitung parameter, di antaranya: indeks keanekaragaman (h’), (2) indeks dominansi (C). hasil penelitian ditemukan Sebanyak tiga spesies bivalvia Atrina pectinata, Anadara granosa, dan Anadara rhomboidalis. Indeks keanekaragaman bivalvia sebesar 1.08 menunjukkan indeks keanekaragaman pada kategori sedang. Sedangkan, indeks dominansi spesies sebesar 0.24 dimiliki Anadara granosa. Bentuk sumber belajar dari hasil identifikasi keanekaragaman kerang jenis bivalvia di Pesisir Jembatan Suramadu Surabaya berupa e-booklet yang di unggah pada aplikasi Google Drive menggunakan QR Code. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah keanekaragaman kerang jenis bivalvia di Pesisir Jembatan Suramadu Surabaya ada dalam kategori sedang.
