Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of learning mathematics using the TPS Learning Model (Think Pair Share) equipped with teachings, compassion, fostering in increasing motivation and learning achievement of mathematics in class VIII A students of SMP N 2 Banguntapan. This research is a kind of class action research (CAR) which is conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were eighth grade students of SMP N 2 Banguntapan. Academic Year 2019/2020, the number of students is 30 students. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out with observation techniques, test techniques, and documentation techniques. The results showed the average percentage of students' motivation achievement from pre-cycle of 58.33% increased to 66.11% in the first cycle and 82.78% in the second cycle. While students' mathematics learning achievement can be seen from the average initial ability score of 63.83 to 75.67 in the first cycle and increased to 82.07 in the second cycle.

Abstract

This PkM training activity aims to provide training on how to utilize technology, namely the use of free online gamification features to assist the teaching and learning process outside the classroom using the Quizizz application. The implementation method used is socialization, training implementation and evaluation. The subject of this training was attended by 15 sixth grade students. The results show that the application can increase student learning concentration and can increase enthusiasm in learning in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic so that online learning feels more fun and students can learn while playing through this Quizizz application. This training also has a significant impact on the ability of teachers to develop learning evaluation instruments using the Quizizz application.

Abstract

Matematika diskrit merupakan bagian dari ilmu matematika yang wajib dan penting diketahui oleh mahasiswa dikarenakan dapat melatih dan mengembangkan daya berpikir abstrak, melatih logika berpikir, dan melatih analisis pemecahan suatu masalah sehingga mereka terbiasa memecahkan permasalahan di bidang matematika secara kritis dan rasional. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses pengembangan bahan ajar pada mata kuliah matematika diskrit untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis mahasiswa calon guru. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model penelitian 4-D Thiagarajan yang terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu Define, Design, Development, dan Disseminate. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan sumbangan dan masukan berarti bagi dosen dan mahasiswa pada civitas akademika Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa terutama pada program studi Pendidikan Matematika.

Abstract

Sebuah modul adalah pasangan dari suatu R-modul bersama dengan suatu submodunya. Dari gagasan  modul juga analog dengan gagasan R-modul yaitu memiliki submodul, homomorfisma dan modul faktor. Kemudian sifat-sifat dari fungtor Hom dan fungtor Tensor jika dikenakan pada homomorfisma adalah bahwa fungtor Hom melestarikan monomorfisma dan fungtor Tensor melestarikan epimorfisma.Kata Kunci: fungtor, homomorfisma, modul, modul faktor, submodul

Abstract

ABSTRACTLearning mathematics is considered difficult material by students from elementary school to high school. Based on the results of observations made through interviews with Mathematics teachers, it was found that the problems experienced by students at SMAN 1 Sewon Bantul were found. The problems experienced by students are related to three dimensions and geometry transformation materials. In addition, there are still many students who cannot understand and visualize geometry material. How to make it easier to learn and understand abstract mathematics, especially geometry material, requires learning media, namely mathematics software. In learning mathematics, students need technology-based media that can represent their intuition in understanding a mathematical concept. The purpose of this service is to socialize GeoGebra Android as an open-source application to visualize geometry learning very accurately and more easily for high school students. The method used in this service activity is a training method through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and assignments. With the use of applications in learning, it is expected to increase students' motivation and understanding in learning mathematics, especially geometry material. The results of the questionnaire from 24 respondents of class XII IPA 6 students obtained a percentage that as much as 72.7% agreed that learning using geogebra was very interesting and interactive in learning geometry material. Keywords: GeoGebra, geometry, training, math learning. ABSTRAKPembelajaran matematika dianggap materi yang sulit bagi para siswa. Didasari dari hasil observasi yang sudah dilakukan melalui wawancara bersama guru mata pelajaran Matematika ditemukan permasalahan yang dialami siswa di SMAN 1 Sewon Bantul. Permasalahan yang dialami oleh siswa yaitu terkait dimensi tiga dan materi transformasi geometri. Selain itu, siswa belum dapat memahami dan menvisualisasikan materi geometri. Cara mempermudah belajar dan memahami matematika yang abstrak khususnya materi geometri diperlukan media pembelajaran yaitu software matematika. Dengan demikian pada pembelajaran matematika, diperlukan suatu media berbasis teknologi yang dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami konsep matematika. Sehingga tujuan dari pengabdian untuk mensosialisasikan GeoGebra Android sebagai aplikasi open source untuk memvisualisasikan pembelajaran geometri dengan sangat akurat dan lebih mudah bagi siswa SMA. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah metode pelatihan melalui ceramah, diskusi, demonstrasi, dan penugasan. Dengan penggunaan aplikasi dalam pembelajaran diharapkan dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan pemahaman siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika khususnya materi geometri. Hasil angket dari 24 responden siswa kelas XII IPA 6 didapatkan prosentase bahwa sebanyak 72,7% menyatakan setuju bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan geogebra sangat menarik dan interaktif dalam pembelajaran materi geometri.Kata Kunci: GeoGebra, geometri, pelatihan, pembelajaran matematika

Abstract

Learning is an activity that is arranged in a planned and systematic manner by involving information and the environment to facilitate students in learning. Efforts that can be made by schools to continue to achieve learning goals during the pandemic, one of which is by implementing limited face-to-face learning. Limited face-to-face learning is learning that implements the Covid-19 prevention process and pays attention to the preparations made by schools before the start of learning, to ensure that learning takes place safely, clearly determining the number of days and hours for the division of limited study groups to be carried out. To see the success of learning mathematics during the learning process. It takes one of the use of learning media that is fun for students. Thus, to overcome this problem, researchers chose to use online-based learning media, namely Kahoot. Kahoot can be accessed at www.kahoot.com which is connected to the internet. During the evaluation at the end of the lesson using the Kahoot application, it can keep students excited and not watching during the learning process. Thus, the purpose of this study is to find out how the use of kahoot learning media in the face-to-face learning process is limited to learning mathematics. While the instruments used in this study were tests, questionnaires and observations. The test questions used in the use of the Kahoot application are 5 questions for each quiz that is carried out 3 times. The test given to students is in the form of multiple-choice questions on the class VII integer material. The questionnaire in this study was in the form of closed questions or statements, aiming to find out the student's response to the evaluation tool that would be given.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas model pembelajaran Think Pair Share dengan komik matematika ditinjau dari kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain Posttest-Only Control Design. Ukuran sampel adalah 68 siswa yang diambil menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Tes Pemecahan Masalah Matematika. Teknik analisis data digunakan dengan menggunakan uji statistik parametrik yaitu uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematis, model pembelajaran model Think Pair Share dengan menggunakan komik matematika lebih efektif daripada pembelajaran Think Pair Share tanpa menggunakan komik. Berkaitan dengan ini komik dapat digunakan sebagai alternatrif dalam pemilihan media pada pembelajaran matematika. Kata kunci: Think Pair Share, komik, kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematis. ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to study the learning model of Paired Thinking Sharing with mathematical comics in terms of mathematical problem-solving skills. The research method used is an experiment with the design of Posttest-Only Control Design. The sample size was 68 students taken using cluster random sampling technique. The instrument used in this study is the mathematical problem-solving test. Data analysis technique used by using parametric statistical test is t-test. The results of the study show that , Think Pair Share learning model by using mathematical comics is more effective to solve mathematical problems than Think Pair Share learning without using comics. It is recommended to use comics as an alternative in selecting media in mathematics learning. Keywords: Think Pair Share, comic, mathematical problem solving skill.

Abstract

The objective is to provide knowledge for pure mathematics and mathematics education students to understand quantified statements so that they can easily comprehend the meaning of mathematical propositions and facilitate their proof. The method used in this research is a literature review by collecting various sources such as books or scientific writings related to the logic used to understand mathematics, specifically related to quantifiers, both universal and existential quantifiers. When mathematics and mathematics education students understand the quantified statement ∀x[Px], what they do is take any (cannot choose specific) x, and it must be proven that x satisfies property P. Then, to understand the quantified statement ∃x[Px], what is done is to choose (at least one) x, and it must be proven that x satisfies property P. When mathematics and mathematics education students understand the multi-quantifier statement ∀x∃y[P(x,y)], what is done is to take any (cannot choose specific) x, then find (at least one) y (depending on x), and x, y must satisfy property P. Then, to understand the multi-quantifier statement ∃y ∀x[P(x,y)] or ∃y [P(x,y)∀x], what is done is to choose y (independent of x) and it must be proven that y satisfies property P along with all x.

Abstract

Penelitian berfokus pada profil kecerdasan visual spasial siswa kelas 12 SMA N 1 Jetis Bantul terhadap pada tingkat pemecahan masalah yang tinggi. Fokus penelitian yang diangkat didasarkan pada urgensi bahwa siswa merasa kesulitan dalam menghubungkan bagian-bagian visual dalam sisi bangun ruang dan belum mampu memprediksi bangun ruang bila dilihat dari berbagai sudut pandang menurut survey lapangan yang dilakukan oleh Fajri dkk (2016). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode tes, dan wawancara. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal tes Matematika yang mengadaptasi model Open-Ended Problem dan pedoman wawancara. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan profil kecerdasan visual spasial tingkat tinggi siswa kelas 12 SMA N 1 Jetis Bantul berdasarkan karakteristik kecerdasan visual-spasial Haas. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas 12 MIPA 4 SMA N 1 Jetis Bantul yang dipilih sebanyak 2 siswa berdasarkan capaian hasil pekerjaan siswa yang tergolong pada tingkat pemecahan masalah yang tinggi berdasarkan kriteria pada Taksonomi Bloom revisi terbaru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang terpilih menjadi sampel penelitian ini memiliki profil kecerdasan visual-spasial yang sangat baik ditinjau berdasarkan karakteristik kecerdasan visual-spasial Haas. Pernyataan tersebut menegaskan bahwa kecerdasan visual-spasial yang dimiliki siswa tersebut telah melewati urgensi penelitian yang diangkat.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi di Prodi Pendidikan Matematika UST Yogyakarta terdapat beberapa masalah pada proses pembelajaran salah satunya yaitu belum tersedianya modul yang berbasis ajaran Tamansiswa. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengembangkan modul Trigonometri berbasis ajaran Tamansiswa dan mencari tahu tingkat kelayakan modul tersebut. Metode penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE yang melalui 5 tahapan yaitu Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Pada penelitian ini dibatasi sampai tahap Development. Penelitian dilakukan di Prodi Pendidikan Matematika UST. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa yang mengambil mata kuliah Trigonometri pada Semester Gasal Tahun Akademik 2020/2021 yaitu 50 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan wawancara yaitu angket validasi untuk validator ahli materi dan ahli modul. Teknik analisis data secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil yang dicapai adalah telah berhasil dikembangkan modul Trigonometri berbasis ajaran Tamansiswa. Modul yang dikembangkan ini telah memenuhi kelayakan sesuai dengan hasil validasi ahli modul dan materi dengan hasil validator sangat baik. Based on the results of observations at the UST Yogyakarta Mathematics Education Study Program, there are several problems in the learning process, one of which is the unavailability of modules based on Tamansiswa teachings. The research objective was to develop a Trigonometry module based on Tamansiswa teachings and to find out the feasibility level of the module. The development research method uses the ADDIE model through 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This research is limited to the Development stage. The research was conducted at the UST Mathematics Education Study Program. The research subjects were 50 students taking the Trigonometry course in the Odd Semester of the Academic Year 2020/2021. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and interviews, namely validation questionnaires for material expert validators and module experts. The data analysis technique is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The result that has been achieved is that the Trigonometry module based on Tamansiswa teachings has been successfully developed. This developed module has met the feasibility by the results of validation by module experts and material with very good validator results.
