Abstract

Safe driving behavior helps to avoid traffic problems. Safety driving can be influence by several factors such as the predisposing factor, the enabling factor, and the reinforcing factor. Safety driving is the basic of further driving training that care more about safety for drivers and passengers. PT X is the authorized agent of PT. Pertamina (Persero) to sell and distribute non-subsidize fuel for the industrial sector and others. The aim of this study was to describe the safe behavior of the driver of fuel tanker truck PT X. This was a qualitative descriptive research and conducted in June 2017. The main informant in this study were five tanker driver who had a history of accidents and the triangulation informant was operational manager and head driver who are responsible in the operational activities of the distribution of fuel. The result showed that drivers have a good knowledge of safe driving behavior. The driver showed a positive attitude about implementing safe driving behavior. Drivers agreed that with the rules and safety-driving training will establish safe behavior in driving. The supervisory role of superiors was not likely to affect the safe behavior of tanker truck drivers but the role of colleagues and families has a positive effect. Therefore, suggestions for the company are to compile SOP, conduct safety driving training, and make supervision program while driving so that the driving behavior of all drivers of PT X becomes good.

Abstract

Sektor konstruksi kini mengalami peningkatan pertumbuhan kerja yang pesat dan mampu menciptakan lapangan pekerjaan baru dalam setiap proyeknya. Manajemen risiko digunakan sebagai dasar untuk menentukan program pengendalian risiko. Meningkatkan efektivitas perlindungan K3 dan menciptakan tempat kerja yang aman, nyaman, dan efisien adalah tujuan penerapan SMK3. PT.X adalah salah satu perusahan fabrikasi (konstruksi) yang memproduksi anjungan lepas pantai yang beroperasi pada lahan reklamasi pantai. Paparan panas, sinar matahari, dan debu merupakan bahaya dari lingkungan kerja di area terbuka yang harus diperhatikan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menggambarkan manajemen pengendalian risiko paparan lingkungan kerja di area terbuka yaitu iklim kerja panas, sinar matahari, dan debu dalampencegahan penyakit akibat kerja. Jenis penelitian yaitu dekskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi,dan studi dokumen. Jumlah informan utama sebanyak 4 orang dan informan triangulasi sebanyak 8 orang. Analisis manajemen pengendalian risiko ditinjau dari aspek penilaian risiko kesehatan dinilai kurang efektif karena tidak ada penilaian risiko paparan lingkungan kerja di area terbuka; surveilans kesehatan dinilai kurang efektif karena tidak ada pemeriksaan kesehatan berkala; pencatatan kesehatan kerja dinilai efektif; evaluasi lingkungan kerja dinilai kurang efektif karena tidak ada pengukuran iklim kerja panas dan SOP pengukuran; dan pengendalian yang digunakan dinilai efektif. Namun, hasil tersebut tidak dapat dikaitkan dengan penyakit akibat kerja karena di PT.X tidak ada penyakit yang terbukti sebagai PAK dan data kecenderungan penyakit. Sebaiknya antara manajemen perusahaan dengan departemen HSE terjalin komunikasi yang baik mengenai pemenuhan peraturan di Indonesia, pembuatan dokumen HIRA dan HRA, dan program pengendalian risiko.

Abstract

ABSTRACTJob stress is an emotional state that arises because of the mismatch between the level of demand and the ability of individuals. Job stress can occur in any job including working as a police officer who is responsible for maintaining security and public discipline. Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) data shows that dozens of police officers have committed suicide from 2011 to 2016. According to research findings by Police Headquarters, 80% of detective criminal police and traffic police officers experience stress due to workload or work pressure. This research aims to analyze the factors relating to job stress on the traffic unit police officer of Polres Metro Bekasi Kota. The research design used in this research is explanatory research with cross-sectional approach. The population in this research is all members of the police who served in the traffic unit of Polres Metro Bekasi Kota with the total amount 142 people. The sampling technique uses proportional random sampling with sample of 105 people. The research instrument used is a questionnaire. For job stress measurements, the writer uses the GHQ-12, and for statistical analysis, the writer uses chi-square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between career development (p= 0,013) with work stress, where as there was no correlation between age (p=0,176), length of work (p = 0,680), task demand (p=0,242), individual role in organization (p=1,000), occupational relations (p=0,254), and organizational structure and climate (p=0,345) with job stress. The writer recommends providing education and training or dissemination of occupational hazards and counseling to help to prevent and to manage stress, and to create and to socialize transparency of assessment in appointing the head of the unit.

Abstract

Fatigue is a mechanism of body protection to avoid further body damage. Fatigue increase fault in working and the most fatal effects is an accident. Work load and work climate are some of factors that cause fatigue. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between work load and work climate with fatigue in land surveying job using theodolite. This study  used an explanatory research with cross sectional approach. Population of this study were 208 students of civil engineering in 2nd semester school term 2015/2016 and 36 students who using theodolite were choosen to be respondents. The instrument used in this study including stopwatch to measure work load, Questemp 34 to measure work climate, and Deary-Liewald Time Task application to measure fatigue. The results of this study show 52,8% respondent with light workload, 66,7% respondent working in substandard  work climate, and 91,7 % respondent with light fatigue. The result of statistic test using Rank Spearmen Correlation Test, there were a significant correlation between workload and fatigue (p=0,01) and there’s no correlation between work climate and fatigue (p=0,706). To decrease workload and fatigue when practice, students were advised to set tripod fit to their body and wear hat to avoid heat exposure from the sun.

Abstract

Background: Low back pain is non traumatic musculoskeletal disorders. Cases of low back pain occurs in many workplaces and causes various impacts, ranging from feel uncomfortable at work, working days lost until turnover. The causes of low back pain can be derived from individual factors and workplace factors, some of them are job  satisfaction and ages. The purpose of this study is analyzing the relationship between job satisfaction and ages with complaints about low back pain employees of Perum Bulog Kantor Sub Divre VI Wilayah Pekalongan.Method: This study was a survey research with cross sectional approach. Dependent variable is complaints about low back pain and independent variable are job satisfaction and ages. Sampling method of this study is purposive sampling. Spearman’s Rank Correlation were employed as analysis tools. The population in this study are employees of Perum Bulog Kantor Sub Divre VI Wilayah Pekalongan which totaled 26 people. Respondents were 22 people.Result: The results of research known that there was significant relationship between complaints about low back pain with the job satisfaction (p = 0,008) and there was significant relationship between complaints about low back pain with ages (p = 0,008). For employees, suggested to do exercises stretching routinely with some alternatives movement and increase social relationships between coworkers.

Abstract

Nisya Batik is a batik industry that included to an Informal Industry Sector. One of the health risks that could possibly happen is Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). This research is using Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method which analyzes body posture of a worker while working. There are 11 activities batik at Nisya Batik, including spreading a fabric, making  stamp pattern, taking paraffin with canting, covering stamp, making  mixture of fabric dye, pouring water into coloration’s tool, coloring fabric, draining fabric, boiling fabric, draining fabric and seasoning fabric. The body posture that scored by researcher is including neck posture, back posture, upper arm posture, lower arm posture, wrist posture and leg posture. This research is also describing subjective complaints of the worker who related to MSDs. The purpose of this research is to analyze Ergonomic Risk Level using REBA Method to the complaint of MSDs to batik craftsmen at Nisya Batik, Kuningan. This Research is a qualitative research using observational approach and interview. The observation is using observe work postur to a worker as a main informan and the interview is using to a worker and also to the Business owner as a triangulation informant. Based on observations result with using Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA), there are 9 percent (1 posture) with low risk (low risk); 64 percent (7 postures) with medium risk (medium risk); and 27 percent (3 postures) with high risk (high risk). There is a subjective complaint associated with MSDs worker felt like aches and pains. It can be concluded that the analysis of the risk level of ergonomics at Nisya Batik batik craftsmen in Kuningan varies with accompanying diverse subjective complaints.

Abstract

Flood disaster at the beginning of 2014 yesterday in the Kudus city also affect the Mardi Rahayu Kudus Hospital. The floods can not be prevented from coming, so it requires a good emergency response system from Hospital side. This study aimed to analyze the flood disaster emergency response system at Mardi Rahayu Kudus Hospital. This research is a descriptive qualitative in-depth interviews. The informants of this study were 3 people as the main informants and one person as the informant triangulation. The results showed Mardi Rahayu Kudus Hospital already have a special policy in the face of floods. The Hospital also has procedures for evacuation when floods began to inundate several rooms in the hospital.The hospital has not been providing training and simulation of flood prevention, especially to any room personnel potentially affected by the flood disaster. Mardi Rahayu Kudus Hospital need to provide training and simulation of flood prevention, especially to any room personnel potentially affected by floods to improve the capability and responsiveness in conducting flood response, including the evacuation of patients and critical assets Hospital.

Abstract

Process Safety Information (PSI) contains technical information needed to identify hazards, assessing risk potentials, and maintaining the risk itself to actualize a safety operation. Area X is a Gathering Station which serves as a collecting place for drilling fluids such as oil, water and gas from oil wells. Results from observatuon and interviews shows that 20,2% workers at Area X have a low level of knowledge and understanding of PSI. Factors correlating with workers’ obedience such as age, knowledge, manner, motivation, social support, and Safety Talk. The study is conducted in quantitative design with cross-sectional approach. The population are 60 workers of Area X. The sampling method uses purposive samping formula and results in 37 subjects. Data collecting conducted by inquiries filled by the subjects. Results of statistical test using chi-square, the correlating factors are manner (p-value=0,032), motivation (p-value=0,011), while toe non-correlating factors are age (p-value=0,493), knowledge (p-value=0,866), social support (p-value=0,417), and Safety Talk/Toolbox Meeting (p-value=0,183). The management are suggested to educate the workers by media such as by e-mail, an for Team Leaders in Area X to assist the workers to understand the PSI.

Abstract

Heat stress in metal casting induction and kupola CV.X Klaten exceeds the threshold value according to the regulation of Minister manpower PER.13/MEN/X/2011 is>280C for moderate workload, with setting work time per hour for 75-100%. The purpose of this research is to know difference of blood pressure and pulse rate of workers due to heat stress in metal casting induction and kupola CV.X Klaten. Explanatory research type (to explain) with cross sectional approach.The independent variable is heat stress and the dependent variable is blood pressure and pulse rate. This research measurements using Questemp 34 to hot pressure gauged and digital tensimeter to measure blood pressure and pulse rate. Total sampling of entire population of workers in smelting and metal moulding induction and kupola amounted to 40 workers. Data analysis using univariate analysis and bivariate. The results showed that there is difference of systolic blood pressure, diastolic, arterial, and pulse rate in induction and kupola workers, statistical tests of Independent samples t test obtained (p value 0,017), (p value 0,030), (p value 0,001) and (p value 0,001). Conclusion of this research is normal blood pressure in induction workers a number of 65% from 20 workers, in kupola 55% of 20 workers. Normal pulse rate of induction workers is 80% of 20 workers, in kupola 90% of 20 workers. As a suggestion is provision of health care facilities for workers through cooperative teamwork metal casting business owners with the nearest health service.

Abstract

Work fatigue can be defined as a protection mechanism of the body to avoid further damage so that recovery occurs after the break. Some factors from fatigue the caused by shift work, workload, and work environment. The purpose of this study was to describe, analyze workload and work fatigue difference at security staff between the morning, day and night shifts in PT. Indonesia Power UBP Semarang. Type of this study was a quantitative study with analysis of explanation or explanatory research. Design of this study was using cross sectional research. Population of this study is 48 security in PT. Indonesia Power UBP Semarang. Determination of sample was using simple random sampling method with a purposive sampling approach obtained 12 samples. Statistical test was using are non parametric anova test. Output of one way anova of hypothesis there is no difference of security workload between morning shift and day shift (p=0,846; α= 0,05), there is no difference of security workload between day shift and night shift (p=0,343; α= 0,05) and there is no difference of security workload between morning shift and night shift (p=0,710; α= 0,05). And there is a difference of security fatigue between morning shift and day shift (p=0,010; α= 0,05), there is no difference of security fatigue between day shift and night shift (p=0,153; α= 0,05) and there is a difference of security fatigue between morning shift and night shift (p=0,016; α= 0,05). Researcher recommend that company should be increasing the number of security.
