Abstract

Mahasiswa akhir sering menghadapi masalah dalam merencanakan karir setelah lulus. Fenomena ini terjadi pada mahasiswa akhir Pendidikan Teknik Mesin, Universitas Sebelas Maret, di mana sebagian besar mahasiswa belum memiliki rencana karir yang jelas. Program studi ini berfokus mencetak guru sekolah kejuruan, tetapi berdasarkan prasurvei, tidak semua mahasiswa memilih karir sebagai guru, yang juga terbukti dari banyaknya alumni yang tidak menjadi guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui gambaran perencanaan karir, pilihan karir, relevansi jurusan dengan rencana karir, dan perbedaan perencanaan karir berdasarkan data demografi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan analisis statistik. Subjek penelitian adalah 68 mahasiswa akhir, dengan teknik total sampling. Analisis menunjukkan 59% mahasiswa memiliki perencanaan karir tinggi, 21% sangat tinggi, 19% sedang, dan 1% rendah. Sebanyak 74% mahasiswa memilih bekerja, 18% melanjutkan studi, dan 9% berwirausaha. Tidak ditemukan perbedaan perencanaan karir berdasarkan jenis kelamin, pendidikan, atau pendapatan orang tua. Hasil ini menunjukkan keberagaman tujuan karir mahasiswa akhir Pendidikan Teknik Mesin.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Special Work Placement Unit (SJPU) in Vocational High Schools (VHS) in channeling graduates into the world of work. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach and bibliometric analysis with VOSviewer, this study identified trends and gaps in previous research. With the PICO (Problem, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome) step, the main questions asked include the effectiveness of SJPU in distributing graduates and their supporting and inhibiting factors. The results of the study show that SJPU plays an important role in tracer studies, job training, and partnerships with the business/industry world. However, the limitations of management personnel, ineffective communication of alumni, and the incompatibility of graduate competencies with industry needs are still the main challenges. Therefore, the optimization of SJPU needs to be carried out through increased cooperation with industry, the use of digital technology in employment information, and the alignment of the curriculum with the needs of the job market. This strategic recommendation is expected to help vocational education stakeholders in increasing the absorption of VHS graduates and strengthening the role of SJPU as a link between the world of education and the world of work.

Abstract

The rapid technological advancements have significantly impacted various aspects of life, including the field of Education. Among the changes that have occurred is the replacement of conventional methods previously used with computer technology as a learning medium. An example of this transformation is the utilization of a CNC simulator, which enables students to visualize models and concepts in a tangible form. A CNC simulator is a computer program that functions as a simulator, displaying three-dimensional images and equipped with operational buttons similar to an actual CNC machine. The CNC simulator is capable of simulating the setup and operation of a CNC machine, which is the process of automating and controlling the movement of manufacturing machines using digital technology. In practical CNC learning, the use of digital tools such as simulators can provide engaging, flexible, and effective experiences, especially in enhancing learning outcomes. Therefore the objective of this paper is to reevaluate the significance of incorporating Android-based 2A CNC simulator learning media in enhancing student achievement in the productive CNC subject. The method used in this study is literature review which encompasses theories, findings, and research articles conducted by previous scholars in the field.

Abstract

Daur ulang limbah masker menjadi material komposit berpenguat serat bambu merupakan cara alternatif untuk mengurangi penumpukan limbah masker yang membahayakan lingkungan selama pandemi covid-19. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi fraksi massa campuran serat bambu terhadap sifat mekanis pada komposit limbah masker. Pada penelitian dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen ini, dikembangkan komposit berbasis limbah masker medis berpenguat serat bambu dengan variasi fraksi massa serat sebesar 0%, 4%, 8%, 12%, dan 16%. Sifat mekanik diukur dari nilai rata-rata kekuatan tarik dan kekuatan impak dari lima spesimen pada tiap variasi. Analisis hasil penelitian dilakukan secara deskriptif berdasarkan nilai kekuatan material dan visualisasi patahan spesimen dari Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh fraksi masa serat bambu terhadap kekuatan material komposit berbasis limbah masker. Kekuatan tarik tertinggi terdapat pada variasi 0% sebesar 18,6 MPa dan terendah pada variasi 8% sebesar 10,3 MPa. Sedangkan, kekuatan impak tertinggi terdapat pada variasi 0% sebesar 7,84 kJ/  dan terendah pada variasi 8% sebesar 1,76 kJ/ . Meningkatnya jumlah serat bambu pada matriks limbah masker menyebabkan penurunan sifat mekanik material.

Abstract

In a developing country like Indonesia, where the majority of the population is working in the informal sectors, there is a need for ergonomic tool intervention, which is low cost, and easy in terms of manufacturability with locally available materials.  The rapid growth of motorcycle sales in Indonesia has stimulated the growth of motorcycle repair workshops. However, some of the non-authorized repair workshops ignore the occupational safety of the mechanics. This study aims to develop a motorcycle workbench as a tool for maintenance work to reduce musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The present study used Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model combined with an ergonomic approach. The research subjects were 4 mechanics from one private workshop. Data was collected using interview, observation, and questionnaire techniques. The MSDs data was analyzed using Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ). The ergonomic risk factors were analyzed using Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) and Ovako Work Posture Analysis System (OWAS).  The result showed an improvement in the work posture of mechanics. The MSDs complaint decreased based on NMQ Score. Furthermore, the RULA score and OWAS score also decreased. Thus, the development of the motorcycle workbench succeeded in reducing the MSDs complaint and improving mechanics’ occupational safety.

Abstract

Pandemi COVID-19 meningkatkan limbah masker sekali pakai secara signifikan, menghasilkan mikroplastik yang sulit terurai dan berbahaya bagi lingkungan. Masalah ini mendorong penelitian untuk mengembangkan solusi berbasis daur ulang menggunakan polymer blend dengan penambahan compatibilizer untuk meningkatkan sifat mekanis. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis efek compatibilizer Maleic Anhydride Grafted Polypropylene (MAPP) pada polymer blend berbahan polypropylene limbah masker sekali pakai. Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimen dengan desain kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari spesimen polymer blend dengan variasi komposisi limbah masker (70-100%), polypropylene daur ulang (30%), dan compatibilizer MAPP (0-3%). Sebanyak 5 spesimen diuji untuk masing-masing variasi menggunakan standar ASTM D638 untuk uji tarik dan ASTM D256 untuk uji impak. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengujian mekanik dan dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan compatibilizer meningkatkan sifat tarik dan impak polymer blend secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan campuran tanpa compatibilizer. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa polymer blend berbasis limbah masker dengan compatibilizer MAPP dapat menjadi alternatif material ramah lingkungan dengan sifat mekanik yang lebih baik, berpotensi sebagai produk hijau bernilai komersial. Implikasinya, metode ini mendukung pengelolaan limbah plastik berkelanjutan dan ekonomi sirkular.

Abstract

Recycling used face masks into useful products is an alternative way to reduce the accumulation of medical waste during the COVID-19 period. The main objective of this study was to determine the effect of injection molding parameters of barrel temperature, molding temperature, and cooling time on tensile strength and plastic shrinkage during the recycling process of used disposable face masks. The study utilized a Design of Experiment (DoE) using the Taguchi Orthogonal L9 method. In this current study, the barrel temperatures were set at 170oC, 190oC, and 220oC. with the molding temperatures used are 45°C, 60°C, and 75°C, while the values of cooling time were 26s, 43s, and 52s. The tensile test was carried out according to the ASTM D638 type V standard for measuring the strength of materials. The findings demonstrate that the most important factor in achieving the highest tensile strength is the molding temperature, which contributes 34.54% and is best combined with a barrel temperature of 170°C, a molding temperature of 60°C, and a cooling period of 52s. By contributing 54.40% to the parameter combination of barrel temperature of 170°C, molding temperature of 45°C, and cooling time of 52s, the molding temperature becomes the most crucial factor to produce the least amount of shrinkage

Abstract

The teaching-industry partnership program between schools and industry could be a good alternative to be implemented in vocational education. This research aims to describe the collaboration pattern between Vocational High School (VHS) and its industry partner. This research was conducted using the case study qualitative research method. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The informants were teachers, the head of the motorcycle-technician department, trainers from the industry, and senior technicians of the motorcycle maintenance workshop selected based on purposive sampling. The results show that in order to operate well, the program requires: 1.) A close relationship between the school and the industry; 2.) Agreement to share knowledge, skills, equipment, and funding between the two parties; and 3.) The willingness of the school to integrate industrial specificity into the learning system. This study also finds that the program just partially aligned with the demand-driven paradigm. Conformity has been realized in terms of preparing graduates' competence following the industry's need, but not yet in terms of the number of graduates required by the company. Any method in increasing the conformity between the labor demand and supply still needs further study

Abstract

Efikasi diri karir merupakan rasa yakin seseorang mengenai kemampuannya dalam bertindak untuk melakukan dan menyelesaikan tugas terkait pencapaian karir masa depan. Kemudian keterampilan komunikasi adalah kesanggupan atau kecakapan seseorang dalam berkomunikasi untuk menyampaikan informasi atau gagasan secara efektif dan mudah dipahami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran efikasi diri karir dan keterampilan komunikasi siswa. Untuk mendapatkan hasil penelitian kali ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis komparasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa secara umum siswa memiliki tingkat kemampuan komunikasi sedang dan efikasi diri karir yang tinggi. Baik tingkat efikasi diri karir maupun keterampilan komunikasi menunjukan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan status ekonomi, sedangkan berdasarkan tingkatan kelas terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan.
