Abstract

ErosionĀ is the main problem that causes land degradation. Erosion causes many problems, such as reduced soil fertility and shallowing of reservoirs, loss of soil nutrients, environmental ecological damage, and decreased agricultural productivity. The Krueng Peusangan watershed has experienced land degradation through flooding, causing erosion. The flooding problem that occurs every year in the Krueng Peusangan watershed, especially in the Krueng Meuh sub-watershed, as a result of the conversion of forest land, impacts the community and the environment. The research aims to map the distribution of erosion areas in the Kreung Meuh Sub-watershed. The research method uses RUSLE spatial analysis. RUSLE analysis uses data on rain erosivity, soil erosivity, slope length, slope, and land use and conservation measures. The research results show that the Krueng Meuh sub-watershed has experienced erosion in light, medium, and heavy categories. Erosion is currently dominating the Krueng Meuh sub-watershed area, which has an area of 4,762.34 ha. Heavy erosion occurred on slopes >15% with an area of 1,675.27 ha. Meanwhile, very light erosion occurs on slopes <8% (flat) with forest land use with an area of 4,224.01 ha and 1,585.48 ha.

Abstract

Mencakup penggunaan lahan hutan menjadi jalan seluas 0,01 Ha, hutan menjadi kebun seluas 0,83 Ha, hutan menjadi semak belukar seluas 5,03 Ha, hutan mejadi longsor 1,38 Ha, dan hutan menjadi lahan terbuka seluas 0,09 Ha. Dengan persentase laju deforestasi pada periode 2015 dan 2024 sebesar 3,42%.

Abstract

The problem of riverbank degradation due to erosion and landslides is an important problem in river basin management, especially in the Krueng Meuh Sub-watershed. Bamboo plants have a strong root system and a dense clump structure, so they have great potential in soil and air conservation on riverbanks. This study aims to identify the types of bamboo that grow on riverbanks and analyze their role in riverbank conservation in the Krueng Meuh Sub-watershed. This study is a descriptive exploratory study by exploring the riverbank along 50 meters from the left and right banks of the river. The methods used include direct observation of bamboo morphology, collection of plant characteristic data, and assessment of conservation potential based on clump density and root system strength. The results of the study found five types of bamboo in the Krueng Meuh Sub-watershed, namely Duri Bamboo (Bambusa bluemeana), Talang Bamboo (Schizostachyum Brachcladum), Betung Bamboo (Dendrocalamus asper), Ampel Bamboo (Bambusa vulgaris), and Regen Bamboo (Gigantochloa pruriens). Each species has different morphological characteristics and root systems, and contributes to the stability of riverbanks. The bamboo species with the highest potential in protecting riverbanks are Dendrocalamus asper and Schizostachyum Brachcladum based on root strength and clump density. In conclusion, betung bamboo and talang bamboo have the highest effectiveness in protecting riverbanks due to their deep roots and dense clump structure. Riverbank vegetation management by considering local bamboo species can be an effective and sustainable conservation strategy.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the agricultural commodities that has a very high economic value. Coffee beans are generally processed in several ways, namely the wet method, one of the stages of processing coffee beans that greatly determines quality is the fermentation method. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical characteristics of coffee powder and the organoleptic quality of coffee powder during fermentation. The parameters observed in this study were the water content of coffee powder, color, aroma, bitterness, and texture. The results showed that the fermentation time of 25 days affected the water content of coffee beans, which was 11.33%. From the results of organoleptic tests on coffee quality, it showed a significant effect on the color, aroma and texture of coffee powder. Panelists preferred the coffee powder brew in the 25 day fermentation treatment. Keywords: Fermentation, Powder arabica coffee, water content, color and texture

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Marlempang Village have great potential in the field of local processed food products. Unfortunately, most MSME actors do not yet have the ability to utilize visual elements of products such as logo and packaging design. In fact, logos and packaging are important aspects in building brand identity, attracting consumer attention, and increasing the selling value and competitiveness of products. This community service activity aims to increase the competitiveness of MSMEs by providing training in designing logos and packaging that are attractive, functional, and in accordance with the character of the product. The implementation method includes counseling on the importance of visual design, training in making logos and packaging with simple design applications (Canva), and direct assistance for each MSME. The results of the activity showed an increase in MSME actors' understanding of the importance of visual identity and the ability to design logos and product packaging. It is hoped that this activity will contribute to increasing sales and branding of local products in Marlempang Village. With this assistance, MSMEs in Marlempang Village have a greater opportunity to develop sustainably. This activity has a positive impact on the branding and competitiveness of local MSME products. Further recommendations are digital marketing training and product legality assistance to increase business scale.

Abstract

Soil erosion is a major land degradation threat in tropical watersheds. This study analyzed the spatial variability of soil erodibility (K) across 17 land mapping units (LMUs), examined its relationship with slope, and developed a conservation risk zoning framework in the Krueng Meuh sub-watershed, Aceh, Indonesia. Soil samples were collected from each LMU and analyzed in the laboratory to determine soil physical properties used for K calculation. Spatial analysis was performed using GIS by integrating K values with slope classes derived from DEM. K values ranged from 0.12 to 0.88 (mean 0.33), indicating moderate overall susceptibility. Nine LMUs had moderate erodibility, five high, and three low. LMU 8 (K=0.88) and LMU 11 (K=0.82) showed very high susceptibility. LMU 12 and LMU 17 were classified as very high risk zones due to high K combined with gentle slopes. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating soil properties and topography for site-specific conservation planning in tropical watersheds.nd, objectives, methods, significant results, conclusions and implications of research results.
