Abstract

Due to the complexity of radiotherapy techniques, rigorous Patient-Specific Quality Assurance (PSQA) is crucial to ensure the accuracy of treatment plans. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the Treatment Planning System (TPS) by comparing its dose distribution calculations with those obtained from the PRIMO Monte Carlo simulation. Treatment plans for 3D-CRT, IMRT, and VMAT were generated for a Rando breast phantom using the TPS. Subsequently, the dose distributions from the TPS were compared with those obtained from the PRIMO Monte Carlo simulation. Key metrics, including Homogeneity Index (HI) and Conformity Index (CI), were calculated to assess the quality of dose distribution. Furthermore, the dose constraints on OARs were evaluated to assess the impact on surrounding healthy tissues. To further validate the TPS, dose distributions from the linac log file (Dynalog) for VMAT were reconstructed within the PRIMO environment. These reconstructed distributions were then compared with the dose distributions calculated directly by the TPS. Gamma index analysis was employed to evaluate the agreement between these two sets of data. The comparison between TPS and Monte Carlo simulations revealed that 3D-CRT plans exhibited smaller deviations in HI and CI compared to IMRT and VMAT plans. However, a significant improvement in HI and CI values was observed in both IMRT planning simulations and Dynalog VMAT file simulations, indicating enhanced plan quality. The dose received by OARs in all treatment plans remained within the acceptable dose thresholds, demonstrating effective sparing of surrounding healthy tissues. For the PSQA procedure, the 3D-CRT technique is still the safest due to its lower level of complexity compared to IMRT and VMAT. More complex treatments should consider the robustness of treatment transfer information from TPS to linac to avoid dosimetry errors.

Abstract

Pronouncing English words that having vowel & consonant sounds properly seems to be a challenge for Indonesian students. This research aims to analyze and describe the pronunciation of English sounds made by the 5th semester students of the English Education Department at Lakidende University and find out what factors might be the influence of the pronunciation errors of English sounds that they often do. This research used a qualitative approach with an error analysis method. Data was collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The data collected in this research is in the form of transcription of students’ English speech and in the form of text from interview. The data analysis technique was carried out based on the theory of Carl James (identification, description & classification). The most frequent errors found in vowel sounds are short vowel [ᴂ] and long vowels [3:] & [ɑ:]. While the most frequent errors in consonant sounds are voiced consonants [ð] & [ʒ] and voiceless consonant [θ]. Then, there are 4 influencing factors of their pronunciation errors, namely: the influence of the mother tongue, the environment, unfamiliar words, and the ineffectiveness of the teaching process. Therefore, the researcher suggests that both for students itself or English lecturers can be paid more attention to the correct pronunciation as a prospective English teacher in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the KIP-K Scholarship instrument at PTKIN IAIN Langsa while developing non-test instruments (questionnaires). This instrument is used to obtain information about students who apply for KIP-K scholarships. The instrument of content validity is obtained through a quantitative analysis by nine selected experts and a qualitative approach with an expert review of a set of questionnaires that have been arranged. In determining the content validity and reliability level, the experts analyzed a questionnaire quantitatively consisting of 29 items with three components: economic, household, and academic and non-academic students’ achievements. The data from this expert judgment is calculated using the formula Aiken V. While expert reviews are qualitatively similar to suggestions and feedback, they are used to refine constructed items. The result of these students’ economic condition, household, and academic and non-academic achievements was above 0.72 with a significance level of 5%, namely 0.92, 0.96, and 0.96. All of the 29 items are very valid (V > 0.72, V1 > 0.50) and reliable (α = 0,944). The conclusion that each component is closely related indicates information on the feasibility of distributing KIP-K. The instruments embodied at IAIN Langsa have high validity, and the level of reliability is excellent. This instrument can obtain complete information on prospective students who will become KIP-K scholarship recipients in 2022.
