Abstract

Abstrak: Keluarga dan sekolah sebagai bagian dari sistem lingkungan saling memengaruhi perkembangan remaja, termasuk perkembangan karakternya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh gaya pengasuhan dan lingkungan nonfisik sekolah terhadap kualitas karakter remaja. Responden penelitian adalah 79 siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) swasta di Kabupaten Bogor yang terpilih melalui metode purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan skor persepsi gaya pengasuhan otoritatif ayah dan ibu lebih tinggi daripada gaya pengasuhan permisif atau otoriter. Gaya pengasuhan otoritatif ayah dan ibu berhubungan nyata dengan semakin baiknya kualitas karakter remaja. Selain itu, semakin meningkatnya persepsi remaja terhadap lingkungan nonfisik sekolah juga berhubungan dengan semakin baiknya karakter remaja. Namun analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa gaya pengasuhan ayah dan ibu yang seimbang lebih memberikan pengaruh terhadap karakter remaja dibandingkan lingkungan nonfisik sekolah. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study was aimed to analyze relationship between patterns of consumption and health status with nutritional status and development of children under five years. The design of this study was cross sectional. Subject in this study were 63 children under five years. Food consumption data was collected using Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and child development data using Bina Keluarga Balita instruments. The results showed severe wasting and wasting existed in the under three years children but not in preschool. Under three years children had an average growth rate greater than preschool. There is a significant relationship between maternal employment and health caregiving pattern with nutritional status (WHZ) (p=0.015), income with nutritional status (HAZ) (p=0.009), and disease history within a month with nutritional status (WAZ) (p=0.022). Mothers should pay more attention to children’s health caregiving pattern and provide sufficient time for the children.Keywords: consumption, development, health, nutritional statusABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan pola konsumsi dan status kesehatan dengan status gizi dan perkembangan balita. Desain penelitian adalah cross sectional dengan subjek sebanyak 63 balita. Data pola konsumsi diambil menggunakan Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) dan data perkembangan balita diambil menggunakan instrumen Bina Keluarga Balita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa status gizi sangat kurus dan kurus masih ada pada usia batita tetapi tidak ada di usia prasekolah. Sebagian besar subjek yang berusia batita memiliki rata-rata nilai perkembangan lebih besar dibandingkan subjek yang berusia prasekolah. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pekerjaan ibu dan pola asuh kesehatan dengan status gizi (BB/TB) (p=0,015), pendapatan per kapita dengan status gizi (TB/U) (p=0,009), dan riwayat penyakit sebulan dengan status gizi (BB/U) (p=0,022). Ibu sebaiknya lebih memperhatikan pola asuh kesehatan anak dan menyediakan waktu yang cukup untuk anak.Kata kunci: kesehatan, konsumsi, perkembangan, status gizi

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to evaluate relationship between stress level with coping strategy and to find out factors affecting stress level among students living in dormitory of IPB. The study site were at Asrama Putri (Girls Dormitory) and Asrama Putra (Boys Dormitory) Bogor Agricultural University. The data was collected from August to October 2005. The primary data included individual characteristic, the resources of stress, level of stress, coping strategy to deal with stress and also the relation between stress level and coping strategy of the student who lived in Asrama Putra (Boys Dormitory) and Asrama Putri (Girls Dormitory) Bogor Agricultural university. The results showed the things that become the factors of stress for new student college, which are never lived out from home before, too much roommates, difficult to interact with surrounding, personal problems, health problems, homesick and financial problems. Most of respondent was experienced high stress level, which is the respondent who get the tendency of emotional stress is larger than they are who get physical stress as a symptoms. The respondent was tended to do problem-focused coping strategy than emotional-focused coping strategy.

Abstract

Academic achievement of students is affected by several factors. This study aimed to analyze the effect of adolescent and family characteristics, school environment, social intelligence, and self-esteem toward academic achievement of rural adolescents. This study used the cross-sectional study design. The purposive method was used in selecting the research location. Data were collected from two senior high school students in Bogor District (n=150) chosen by proportional random sampling. The result showed that gender and school environment had significantly positive effect on academic achievement. Conversely, family income had negative effect on academic achievement of rural adolescents.Keywords: academic achievement, adolescent, self-esteem, school environment, social intelligence, rural area Pencapaian remaja untuk meraih prestasi akademik merupakan hasil dari interaksi antara berbagai faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh karakeristik remaja, karakteristik keluarga, lingkungan sekolah, kecerdasan sosial, dan self-esteem terhadap prestasi akademik remaja di wilayah perdesaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional study. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 150 siswa SMA di wilayah Kabupaten Bogor, Jawa Barat. Pemilihan lokasi penelitian ini dilakukan secara purposif dan penarikan contoh dilakukan dengan teknik proportional random sampling. Hasil uji regresi menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan sosial dan self-esteem tidak memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap prestasi akademik. Jenis kelamin dan lingkungan sekolah ditemukan memiliki pengaruh positif signifikan terhadap prestasi akademik. Sebaliknya, pendapatan per kapita keluarga mempunyai pengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap prestasi akademik remaja perdesaan.Kata kunci: kecerdasan sosial, lingkungan sekolah, perdesaan, prestasi akademik, remaja, self-esteem

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze parental environment quality, attachment between mother and children, cognitive development, and correlation among those variables. This research took place at Tanah Sareal and Bogor Barat, Bogor City and involved 39 children at preschool age with their mom chosen by purposive method. Data were collected by interview using structure questionnaire and observation. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and correlation. More than 50 percent children have the medium score of the parental environment quality,  attachment at average category, and cognitive development. Mothers education were correlated significantly positive with parental environment quality, learning, and attachment.

Abstract

Emotional intelligence is the ability of children to express their emotions appropriately. Emotions play an important role in children’s lives because through the emotion someone knows what was perceived themselves and others. The aim of this research was to analyze the influence of the characteristics of children and family, interaction between children and parents as well as siblings toward school-age children’s emotional intelligence. The study design was cross-sectional study with proportional random sampling method. Samples in this study were children and mothers (n=100) in urban poor areas, which are located in Empang Village and Tegal Lega Village, Bogor City. Data were collected by interview using a questionnaire. The results showed that there is a negative significant relation between age of mother and parent-child interaction. Mother’s education length and sibling interaction have a positive significant relation with emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence of school-age children in urban poor areas was affected by mother’s education length and sibling interaction. Age of child does not influence on child emotional intelligence in urban poor areas.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the influence of maternal sensitivity on mother-child attachment, and mother-child attachment on cognitive development. This research was conducted at Kelurahan Empang and Tegallega, Kota Bogor. The samples consist of 100 mothers and their child that were selected by proportional random sampling. The results showed that mother’s education length and maternal sensitivity has positive significant correlation with mother-child attachment. In addition, mother’s education length and income per capita has positive significant correlation with cognitive development. However, family size has negative significant correlation with mother-child attachment and also cognitive development. Child cognitive development was influenced by participation in early childhood education and mother’s education length. This research found that child cognitive development was not influenced by mother-child attachment.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the relationship and influence of children and family characteristic,  interaction of peer group, moral development toward agression behavior of  school age chidren in Tegal Lega Village, Middle District of Bogor and Empang Village, South District of Bogor.  Design of this research was cross sectional study. Population of this reserch were family with school-age late childhood or 4-6 class elementery school. The samples consist 100 children and mothers  were chosen by proportional random sampling. The data collected by interview based on questionnaire. Result showed that were significant and negative correlation between moral development with aggression behavior.  Meanwhile, result showed that were significant and negative influence between moral development toward aggression behavior. This research was not found influence between child characteristic and peer group interaction toward aggression behavior.

Abstract

Academic achievement as one of learning outcome indicator in adolescents influenced by the self and family environment factors. This study was aimed to analyze the effect of child characteristics, family characteristics, parenting style perceived by adolescents, self-efficacy and self regulated learning on adolescents academic achievement. The study used self report method which involved 91 eighth grade students from two junior high schools in Bogor. Data analysis included descriptive analysis and inference analysis (correlation test and linier regression test). Result showed that majority of samples perceived their parent as authoritative (86.8%) followed by authoritarian (11.0%) and permissive (2.2%). The result also showed that majority of samples had medium level in self-efficacy and self regulated learning. More than a half of samples had under average level in academic achievement. Correlation results showed that there were significant and positive relationship between authoritarian parenting style with birth order, family size as well as gender. Self regulated learning were significantly and positively related with authoritative parenting style (r=0.257, p-value<0.05) and self-efficacy (r=0.330, p-value<0.01). Meanwhile, regression results showed a positive effect of academic achievement on father's education (β=0.315, p-value=0.006) and authoritative parenting styles (β=0.259, p-value=0.014), as well as negatively on gender (β=-0.267, p-value=0.014) and permissive parenting style (β=-0.203, p-value=0.039).

Abstract

Academic achievement is influenced by many factors such as internal factor and external factor. Internal factors in this research is a factor that can be used to learn. Meanwhile, the external factor of the adolescent involved is the factor of the family in the form of parenting style that implements the parents. This study aims to analyze the nurturing style, motivation, and strategies in learning against adolescent achievement. The data were collected using a questionnaire technique involving 149 VIII students from two State Junior High Schools in Bogor. The results found that about nine of the adolescents perceived the authoritative parenting style (89,3%). The results of the study also found that more than half of adolescents had moderate motivation categories (53,0%) with broader motivation. Seven of the adolescents had a low learning strategy (72,3%) and a fairly well-done dimension was the regulatory effort. The academic achievement of adolescents is almost entirely (95,3%) is categorized well. Multiple linear regression models show that the duration of mother education and authoritarian parenting style have a significant negative effect on academic achievement. Meanwhile, the mother's authoritative parenting style and self-determination strategy in learning have a significant positive effect on academic achievement.
