Abstract

The cement industry is a strategic sector in supporting national infrastructure development. PT Semen Gresik's Rembang factory faces high kiln operational downtime due to reduced air pressure. This impacts production efficiency, increases operational costs, and accelerates equipment lifespan. This study aims to identify the main factors causing reduced air pressure in the kiln operating system and formulate a strategy to minimize downtime using the New Seven Tools approach. The results show that the reducing air pressure is the most significant cause of downtime with a frequency of 82.2% and a duration of 80.2%. The dominant factors are signals from the MCC and compressor are not being sent to the Central Control Room (CCR), frequent trips on the MCC due to surge loads when starting the compressor, overheating of the compressor contactor and power cable, and the lack of an auto-restart feature for the compressor control panel after trips and start-stops from the CCR. Recommended improvement strategies include modifying the MCC to send signals to the Central Control Room (CCR), evaluating the breaker and feeder capacity, replacing power cables in accordance with the KHA, and increasing preventive maintenance on the compressor. The study concludes that implementing a New Seven Tools-based repair strategy is effective in reducing the risk of kiln downtime due to reduced air pressure, while simultaneously increasing the efficiency and reliability of kiln operations at PT Semen Gresik's Rembang Factory. Abstract

The textile industry must produce high-quality products with low defect rates to improve competitiveness and customer satisfaction. This research was conducted at the spinning unit of PT. Dan Liris, which still faces problems with bad cone defects in the winding process, such as wrinkles, crossing, ring cones, dirty yarn, and weights that do not meet standards. This study aims to analyse the level of bad cone defects, identify the main causal factors, and provide improvement suggestions to improve yarn product quality. The method used Six Sigma with the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) approach. Data were obtained from the production results of winding machines from July 2024 to March 2025. The analytical tools used include Pareto diagrams, P control charts, fishbone diagrams, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to determine improvement priorities based on the Risk Priority Number (RPN) value. The results show that the dominant defects are wrinkles and crossing, with DPMO values and initial sigma levels indicating that the process still needs improvement. The factors causing defects come from aspects of machines, work methods, materials, and people. Kaizen-based improvement proposals reduced the number of bad cone defects, decreased the DPMO value, and increased the process sigma level. Thus, the implementation of the Six Sigma method has proven effective in improving yarn product quality and supporting zero-defect efforts at the spinning unit of PT. Abstract

Employee productivity is a strategic factor in enhancing an organization's operational efficiency and competitiveness. However, human resource management in many companies remains suboptimal, particularly regarding the development of human capital quality that supports productivity. This study aims to analyze the impact of education, work experience, and job training as dimensions of human capital on the productivity of PT XYZ employees. Unlike previous studies that tended to examine human capital aspects in isolation or within specific organizational contexts, this research integrates these three dimensions into a single model to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the factors driving productivity within the study's scope. The selection of these three dimensions is grounded in Human Capital Theory, which views education as the foundation of knowledge, work experience as the accumulation of practical competence, and training as a mechanism for continuous competence development. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a survey of 150 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS. The results indicate that education (β = 0.241; p < 0.05), work experience (β = 0.356; p < 0.05), and job training (β = 0.418; p < 0.05) all have a positive and significant effect on work productivity. Collectively, the three variables exert a significant influence, with an Adjusted R-squared value of 0.682. Job training emerged as the factor making the largest contribution. These findings underscore the importance of integrated human capital development strategies in boosting organizational productivity and competitiveness.

Abstract

Supplier selection is a strategic element in supply chain management to ensure operational efficiency and business sustainability. This study aims to determine the best urea supplier for PT DSSA 1, a textile company specializing in dyeing and finishing processes, using the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method. This method was chosen for its ability to systematically analyze interdependencies among criteria, leading to more accurate and comprehensive decision-making. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with internal company sources, and relevant literature reviews. The analysis was based on five main criteria: quality, price, service, delivery, and flexibility, each further broken down into sub-criteria. The results indicate that quality is the most critical criterion, with the highest weight of 23.19%, followed by price, service, and delivery, each with relatively balanced weights of 19.93%. Flexibility, although ranked last with a weight of 17.01%, remains relevant, especially for urgent orders. Based on the analysis, Supplier A was identified as the best choice with the highest overall weight, followed by Supplier B and Supplier C. This study provides practical contributions by offering strategic recommendations for PT DSSA 1 in selecting suppliers that support production efficiency and business sustainability. The study is limited in the scope of criteria and the number of suppliers analyzed. Future research is recommended to explore more variables, expand the sample size, and consider the implementation of digital technologies to optimize the supply chain.
