Abstract

Financial statement fraud negatively impacts for the company, both materially and immaterially, including reduced stakeholders trust. The highlights the need for transparency through CSR reports. CSR represent the company’s transparency and reduce fraud. However, oportunistic managers may exploit CSR as a tool to conceal fraudulent actions. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between CSR disclosure and financial statement fraud, as well as the moderating effects of gender diversity on boards of commissioners and committee expertise. This study is a quantitative approach with a population of state-owned companies listed on IDX from 2019 to 2023. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, which resulted in 20 companies. The analysis methods were panel data logistic regression and MRA using the Eviews 12 software. The results indicated that CSR disclosure positively influences financial statement fraud. Gender diversity on the board does not moderate this relationship, while audit committee with financial expertise weakens the relationship between CSR disclosure and financial statement fraud. The findings contribute to agency theory and provide practical implications for companies and investors in identifying potential fraud related to CSR activities. The novelty of this research is the addition of two moderating variables.

Abstract

The severe impact of financial statement fraud (FSF), particularly in large corporations, remains a significant challenge globally, often arising due to weak internal controls and the pressure on employees to meet financial targets. This study explores the applicability of the New Fraud Diamond Model on financial statement fraud (FSF) in energy companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2019 until 2023. The sample comprises 238 companies selected through purposive sampling. The research results indicate that financial stability and financial targets positively influence FSF, while effective monitoring has a negative effect. Other variables show no significant impact. The findings provide practical implications for regulators and companies to strengthen governance mechanisms, enhance monitoring effectiveness, and align financial targets with long-term goals to mitigate fraud risks, thereby improving overall corporate accountability and financial market stability.

Abstract

Stunting prevention is a priority in improving children's health quality in Indonesia. Stunting, caused by malnutrition, impacts both the physical and mental development of children, potentially diminishing their quality of life. As a country that has ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child, Indonesia is obligated to ensure that every child has the right to a healthy life, including access to adequate nutrition. This study aims to analyze the strategic efforts undertaken by the Indonesian government to prevent stunting. The research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach and descriptive analysis. Data are obtained through a literature review of relevant sources. This approach is used to describe and analyze the policies implemented by the Indonesian government to address stunting. The findings indicate that although regulations exist to support children's rights to nutritious food, their implementation faces various challenges, such as weak coordination between agencies and insufficient adherence to established standards. More robust law enforcement and enhanced legal capacity at the local level are crucial to ensuring the success of these policies. In conclusion, strengthening legal protection through stricter regulations and more effective monitoring will create an environment conducive to children's growth and development, thereby preventing stunting on a broader scale. This study recommends further collaboration among institutions and raising public awareness about the importance of nutritious food for children.

Abstract

Blue light-emitting diode (LED) lights have been tested as a potential tool in a blue swimming crab collapsible pot at the laboratory level. However, field-scale trials have not yet been conducted to confirm their effects on pot catches. This study aims to determine the effects of blue LEDs on catch composition and the effectiveness of catching the main target of crab (Portunus pelagicus). A fishing trial was conducted in Brondong, Lamongan waters to examine the influence of blue LED lights on crab catches. A total of 54 pots were deployed, consisting of 18 pots with fish bait (U) as control, 18 pots with blue LED light (L), and 18 pots with a combination of fish bait and blue LED (LU). The results showed that the LU treatment yielded the highest number of species, with a total of 13 species, followed by the U treatment, with 10 species, and the L treatment, with 9 species. The LU treatment had the highest catch of 48 fish (3,718 g), followed by U with 43 fish (3,448 g) and L with 5 fish (208 g). Statistical analysis revealed no significant differences between the LU and U (control) treatments in terms of both catch number and weight. The highest catchable width distribution in treatment U was 88%, while the highest catchable weight distribution in treatment LU was 75%. The analysis of crab-catching effectiveness analysis showed that the LU treatment had the highest average effectiveness of 13%, followed by the U treatment at 11%, and the lowest was the L treatment at 1%. In conclusion, LED lights do not affect the catch, however, adding LED lights to the bait can increase the number of species caught, the number of individuals, the weight of the catch, and the effectiveness of catching kingfish (P. pelagicus). Keywords: Blue light, catchable distribution, effectiveness, bait
