Abstract

Understanding the natural bait preference of predatory fish, such as barramundi, plays a crucial role in improving capture efficiency. This knowledge also supports sustainable fisheries by optimizing bait selection for handline fishing and reducing reef damage by active gear where barramundi species commonly live. This study examines the response of barramundi to various types of natural bait and investigates whether body size plays a significant role in this response. Predatory fish are divided into three different sizes (9, 13, and 15 cm total length), with each size having nine replicates. Fishing behavior and response to baits were divided into four phases: arousal, searching, finding, and uptake. Kinovea computer software (www.kinovea.org) was used to identify each phase with visual support from iVcam. The experiment was designed using a 54 L aquarium filled with saline water of 32 ppt. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA in SPSS version 26. When significant differences (p<0.05) were found, Tukey's post hoc test was performed. Bait from trash fish and shrimps did not show significant differences (p>0.05). Worms provided the fewest responses on times and behavior. Body size did not significantly affect behavioral responses or response times (p > 0.05). In conclusion, bait type significantly influenced barramundi's responses, with worms eliciting a significantly slower response compared to shrimp and trash fish, which were equally effective.

Abstract

This research investigates the role of tax avoidance in mediating the effect of GCG and CSRD on firm value. In this study, the samples were 31 manufacturing companies in the 2016-2019 period with 124 annual report that were processed using SEM-PLS. The results showed that institutional ownership and CSRD did not affect tax avoidance. Meanwhile, the independent board of commissioners affected tax avoidance. Institutional ownership had a negative effect on firm value. Further, independent board of commissioners, CSRD, and tax avoidance positively affected firm value. In this study, tax avoidance could mediate an independent board of commissioners on firm value but failed to mediate the effect of institutional ownership and CSRD with firm value.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Pemilihan Umum, Pengawasan, Teknologi Informasi AbstractThe most fundamental feature of a democracy is the existence of universally transparent and democratic suffrage. Over time, the conduct of elections should be monitored. It is necessary to discuss the issue of using information technology in conducting elections, because almost every modern country has used information technology in the conduct of elections to achieve quality elections. Therefore, information technology must be used to support supervisory functions in the holding of general elections. This research uses normative juridical methods by using secondary data collection techniques through literature searches, examining materials taken from literature, namely laws, journals, books and online news. The purpose of this study is to encourage the optimization of general election monitoring using information technology. The use of information technology in general elections is an important issue, especially related to supervision. The implementation of legislative elections in the era of advances in information technology that is developing today requires professional human resources in terms of facilitating the performance of general election organizers and minimizing data errors both at the regional and central levels. The election supervision process is currently running well, but due to limited human resources, the wide reach of election monitoring agencies, various fraud efforts, and the lack of optimal socialization in the use and monitoring of information technology, these are weaknesses in supervision. Keywords: Elections, Surveillance, Information Technology

Abstract

Purpose: This community service initiative introduces an innovative solution combining venturi pump system technology and protein skimmer to enhance water quality, production efficiency, and sustainability in round tank-based white shrimp farming. The protein skimmer helps reduce dissolved organic matter and supports the maintenance of dissolved oxygen (DO) levels, both essential for shrimp survival. Methodology/approach: The approach includes participatory planning, Focus Group Discussions, the induction of venturi aerator and protein skimmer combination, socialization and technical training, technology demonstration (including water quality monitoring), partner assistance, and continuous monitoring and evaluation. The implementation partner is CV Nusantara Agro Mandiri, located in Tuban. Results/findings: The technology application led to an average increase in DO by 3 mg/L due to the venturi pump, and a reduction of total dissolved solids (TDS) by 400 mg/L with the help of the protein skimmer. These improvements supported better shrimp growth, with an average daily weight gain of 0.1 grams. Conclusion: Integrating venturi pump and protein skimmer technologies provides an effective means to improve water quality and enhance shrimp growth in round tank systems. This contributes to more stable and sustainable aquaculture environments. Limitations: Wider-scale implementation is required to test the technology under more diverse environmental and water quality conditions. Cost efficiency remains a key concern for broader adoption by farmers. Contribution: This technological combination offers a valuable strategy for improving cultivation environments and enhancing the productivity. Contribution to SDGs: This initiative supports SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 14: Life Below Water, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
